Rishi Sunak proclaimed integrity and unity as the only way forward after being sworn in by King Charles at around 11.15 am on the 25th. He took office less than an hour before the Solar Eclipse so it was a day of fevered anticipation and might be expected to be a singular term ahead.

  RS’s Term has a charming and friendly New Moon conjunct Venus in the 11^th though with an assertive, argumentative, ideologically-rigid and chilly Air Grand Trine of Mars in the 7^th trine Mercury trine Saturn in Aquarius; with a dogmatic, hostile-debate Mercury square a financial 2^nd house Pluto. What helps marginally is Mars having moved out of the financial 8^th as it was for the Truss Term as she tanked the economy. His PM chart is less weighed down by dirty-dealings-behind the-scenes as it was for BJ’s 2^nd Term which had Saturn Pluto Venus in the 12^th. 

  The Saturn square Uranus guarantees a bumpy ride and a constant tug of war between opposing political views. Panic about failed policies will set in around mid March into April 2023, again from the autumn right through till February 2024 as the Mars is undermined by tr Neptune in square.

  Although in contrast to BJ he seems sane and sensible there are questionmarks about his past judgement. A true believer in Brexit he failed to anticipate the costs and overrated the ease of making up the shortfall elsewhere. Covid fraud also occurred under his remit.

  He is also stepping into a mare’s nest of a mess and restoring economic stability, constitutional rectitude and national morale at a time of global austerity will take the shine off trouncing his peers for a win.

  On his personal chart, this December will rack up his woes with tr Saturn back to square his Mercury, Sun and then Uranus through till mid January. Plus a panicked, failed-plans tr Pluto square his Mars/Neptune midpoint from early in December until mid January, followed by another similar through till mid February, both of which repeat from August 2023 to the New Year. Tr Uranus picks up the high-tension, sudden jolts conjunction to his Sun Mercury from June 2023 on and off till early 2025 – so it’ll be a stormy ride.

  He does have an enthusiastic, go-getting Jupiter Mars conjunction in early Virgo. His Solar Arc Pluto square the Jupiter now gave him a surge of luck to propel him into No 10, and his enthusiastic drive will see him through Solar Arc Pluto square his Mars/Jupiter midpoint in 2023. But what might be his undoing will be the Solar Arc Pluto square his Mars in 2024 which can bring progress to a halt.

  His Cabinet choices have pulled together left and right, friend and foe which makes a change from Truss and BJ’s fans-only selection. There are fewer Mutable scattergun types than before.  Hunt is a Scorpio; Rabb (Deputy PM) is a Pisces; Braverman (Home Secretary) an Aries; Cleverly (Foreign Secy) a Virgo; Wallace (Defence) a Taurus; Zahawi Gemini; Dowden Leo; Barclay (Health) a Taurus, Badenoch a Capricorn, Jenrick (Immigration) a Capricorn, Victoria Prentis (Attorney General) an Aries.

 Braverman is a mistake, having recently blotted her copybook over a personal email issue and only hauled in because of her right-wing ERG ties. Robert Jenrick is also deeply questionable because of past planning scandals. Though now that I look both have immigration on their plate so RS may hope to land the blame on them for failed attempts to crack the impossible problem ahead.

   One theory is he put together a ‘broad church’ to calm early dissension and may well reshuffle down the road.  

Add On: Understandably Suella Braverman’s appointment has caused ructions, taking the edge of Sunak’s proclamations about rectitude. She’s a Sun Aries opposition Pluto which is not quite as bad as Priti Patel’s Aries Sun opposition Pluto square Jupiter but heading that way. Her Solar Arc Sun is square her Mars, possibly still to come within months which can signal a considerable setback; and she is into a run of uncertain, panicky Neptune transits undermining her Saturn, then Mars/Pluto midpoint, then Pluto/Node and Jupiter/Pluto throughout 2023 into 2024 – all of which will dent her confidence and standing. Her relationship chart with Sunak shows up similar disappointments and losses from this coming January onwards.   

Haiti has descended to the lowest circle of hell with 150 to 200 gangs warring for control of the capital Port-au-Prince-  with extreme sexual violence against women and children rampant, widespread starvation and outbreaks of cholera. Conditions have become particularly dire in recent months as the gangs have blockaded the country’s fuel terminals. Amid severe food and water shortages, the country’s economy has been paralysed and hospitals forced to close.

The government has requested UN armed forces to help – the president said “the whole country has been taken hostage” – but NGOs warn that foreign military intervention to restore order will only cause more bloodshed. UN missions in Haiti have quelled violence in the past, but it returned once they departed and is not a long term solution.

 UN peacekeepers sent to respond to the 2010 earthquake left behind hundreds of fatherless children and were accused of systematic sexual abuse and exploitation of Haitian women and it introduced a cholera outbreak which killed 10,000 and took nine years to eradicate. The UN apologised for sparking the deadly outbreak but never formally accepted responsibility.

  The Haiti independence chart of 1 January 1804 7.17.am Gonaives, Haiti has a tough, setback and violence-prone Sun Mars in Capricorn square Saturn; with a constantly-changing Sun Mercury square Uranus. There’s also a confident Pluto trine Jupiter in Scorpio sextile Mars Sun, so there is potential there.

  The devastating 2010 earthquake which caused billions in damage and killed nearly a quarter of a million people hit the country hard. That was when transiting Pluto was conjunct the Haiti Mars and square the Haiti Saturn with tr Saturn on its Return and square Mars – catastrophic.

  The present socioeconomic chaos has worsened since  President Jovenel Moïse was assassinated in July 2021 when the Solar Arc Pluto was square the Haiti Sun.

  At the moment the Solar Arc Sun is conjunct the Haiti South Node which seems fitting for a time of hitting rock bottom.

 Tensions will run high through 2023/24 with tr Pluto conjunct the Venus and tr Uranus opposition the Neptune. The one glimmer of hope is tr Pluto square the Jupiter in 2024/25 which could suggest an upsurge in national confidence and a push to regenerate.

  Whatever happens everyone agrees the answer must come from within Haiti and not imposed from the outside.

Today’s Solar Eclipse at 2 degrees Scorpio is in a Saros Series hinting at forceful even manic activity intent on taking power – and huge efforts in group activity. The following Lunar Eclipse at 16 Taurus is likely to be even more powerful with the Eclipsed Full Moon in close aspect to Uranus square Saturn.

 Looking back over previous occurrences of similar 6 South Saros Series Eclipse there were events of considerable magnitude, none falling on the day itself though shortly before or after.  Eclipses are thought to have around six months of influence. To be remembered in all examples there are always other influences in play as well which can make a significant difference.

  Before panic sets it it should be pointed out that in 1914 Pluto was just into Cancer with Saturn rapidly approaching a conjunction. Saturn Pluto is usually around for major wars and isn’t at the moment.

Political swings to the right are always a risk for the USA’s Social Security and Medicare systems. Guaranteeing a safety net for the disadvantaged, accepted unquestioningly in Europe, appears to be an anathema to a certain type of Republican.

 The Social Security Administration was set up on 14 August 1935 by Franklin D. Roosevelt. The Leo Sun and Mercury are catching the downbeat tr Saturn opposition this year and the disruptive tr Uranus square in 2023 – which does suggest some tensions and changes. There could be a major overhaul in 2026 with tr Pluto square the Uranus.

 Medicare was set up in 1965 on 30 July, another Leo, and is on high alert and edgy over coming months with tr Uranus opposition the Neptune; with a major shock and jolt coming sometime this year from Solar Arc Mars square the Uranus and worse by 2024 with a dead-halt Solar Arc Mars square the Pluto.

  The Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), 23 March 2010 looks to be under immense pressure with a frustrating, trapped tr Pluto opposition Mars in 2024/25. With an undermining tr Neptune Saturn conjunct the Sun in 2025 and square the Pluto and Moon by 2027. That looks to be a damaging run from 2024 to 2027.

Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG) the far-right Congresswoman and white supremacist, and antisemitic conspiracy theorist, has spread around her delusions over QAnon, Pizzagate, mass shootings, the alleged killings perpetrated by the Clinton family, and the 9/11 attacks. Before running for Congress, she supported calls to execute prominent Democratic politicians, including Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama and has equated the Democratic Party with Nazis and compared COVID-19 safety measures to the persecution of Jews during the Holocaust. In January 2022, her personal Twitter account was permanently suspended for posting COVID-19 vaccine misinformation; and during the Ukraine invasion she has promoted Russian propaganda and praised Vladimir Putin.

 She has repeatedly and falsely claimed that Trump won the 2020 election in a landslide victory that was stolen from him and is rumoured to be his running mate for a 2024 bid.  She is up for re-election in 2022.

  Born 27 May 1974 she is a Sun Gemini opposition Neptune trine Pluto – stratospherically ambitious. She has a tough Saturn Mercury in a fanatical square to Pluto and an explosive, incendiary Venus opposition Uranus square Mars in Cancer. Her enthusiasm looks squelched until mid this November with tr Saturn square her Mars/Jupiter midpoint and she has a dashed-hopes tr Pluto conjunct her Jupiter/Neptune midpoint running now till December. 2023 and 2024 don’t look great for her either with tr Pluto square her Mars/Neptune midpoint with disappointments extending into 2025.

 Her relationship with Trump is a mystery since her combustible Mars is conjunct his Saturn with her Uranus square; and her (probably) Leo Moon is conjunct hid Mars. Though there is a connection of sorts from her North Node conjunct his South Node and Moon.  And their relationship chart is fairly well tied together which will help though it is facing a few disasters until this December with a downhill slide thereafter.

Marjorie Taylor Greene is not only addicted to offensive, over-heated rhetoric but also to a warped Trumpian cum Nazi tactic of turning herself and her ilk into victims. She recently was forced to apologize for suggesting that mask mandates were similar to the Holocaust; and promptly went on to compare medical personnel offering vaccinations to Nazi brownshirts forcing prisoners to undergo experiments. 

   The House of Representatives which she only joined this January, voted to remove her from all committee roles on February 4, 2021, in response to her incendiary and violent statements. She will run for re-election in 2022.

  Born 27 May 1974 in Georgia, USA, she is a Sun Gemini opposition Neptune trine Pluto; with a volatile and over-loaded Mars in excitable Cancer on the point of a T Square to Venus opposition Uranus; and a hard-edged, unyielding Saturn square Pluto. Tr Pluto is still exerting maximum pressure on her Martian T Square being square the Venus and Uranus till the end of this year.  The December Sagittarius Solar Eclipse will oppose her Sun for a crisis of direction in which she may be forced to rethink her plans. She’s also got a Neptunian failure or two and in genera high hopes not producing results through till late 2022.

  Her Solar Arc Sun is conjunct her Mars probably mid 2022 which will produce a collision of sorts and is not good news, followed by Solar Arc Neptune in a paralysed, panicky square to her Uranus also in 2022 and then Venus in 2023.

  She probably is enamoured of Hitler since his mesmeric Neptune Pluto in Gemini is conjunct her Sun and oddly enough both have Uranus in Libra. The relationship chart has a passionately connected composite Pluto opposition Jupiter square Venus

  With Trump, it’s trickier to see where the love comes from with his Saturn conjunct her focal point Mars; though her Sun falls in his 10^th and her Leo Moon is probably attracted to all the fake glitter. Though their relationship chart again has a passionate Sun Venus square Pluto which will be rattled up by this December’s Solar Eclipse.

Giorgia Meloni has made history as Italy’s first female prime minister at the head of the country’s most right-wing government since World War Two. Her Brothers of Italy party with neo-fascist origins is leader of a ruling coalition with Berlusconi’s Forza Italia party and Matteo Salvini’s League. They have made reducing immigration a key policy, which includes increasing repatriations, targeting charity ships that rescue migrants and calling for a naval blockade of North Africa.

 Although aligned with Hungary’s Orban, she has toned down criticism of the EU with Italy’s chronically ill economy needing millions of euros from the Brussels’ coffers.

 Where she may have problems is with junior coalition partner Sylvio Berlusconi in a sulk because he is not top dog and  reportedly called Meloni “domineering, arrogant and offensive”. He also paraded his friendship with Putin and landed blame on Zelensky for the Ukraine invasion. In contrast Meloni has reassured Western allies over the country’s pro-NATO stance and its support for Ukraine.

  She was sworn in on 22 October 2022 in Rome at around 9.30am (I think, any definite times welcome). This gives a pressured Sun Venus square Pluto with Pluto in an aggravated, argumentative quincunx to an 8^th house Mars – debt problems? What looks least helpful apart from the divisive Uranus square Saturn is a vague, disillusioned and indecisive Virgo Moon opposition Neptune square Mars. Which won’t get any easier as the Solar Arc Neptune closes the square to Mars by 2024 for failed plans and panic.

  Meloni’s elevation was never going to sit comfortably with misogynist dinosaur Berlusconi – his karma catching up with him? With his Pluto opposing her Capricorn Sun, he’ll be compelled to put her down.

 Their relationship chart is an eye-opener with a power-struggling, oneupmanship composite Pluto opposition Jupiter square Sun opposition Saturn – chained together and resenting it, a constant churn. 2023 could split them apart with tr Saturn in Pisces square the Sun, conjunct Jupiter and opposition Pluto. Though he could also be knocked out by health problems, since he had major heart surgery in 2016 and a battle with coronavirus.

 Her own personal chart, 15 January 1977 6pm Rome, will have some luck in 2023 with tr Uranus conjunct her 10^th house Jupiter from June onwards and Jupiter moving across her 10^th from 2023 till mid 2024 will give her career a boost.

Absolute power has been claimed by Chinese President Xi Jinping as his rulership has been extended for a third five year term. It breaks the precedent set after Mao’s demise to limit the power of any one individual leader.  Despite being the son of a relatively liberal father and having seen his family punished through the insanities of the 1960s/1970s Cultural Revolution, he has steadily built himself up as a Stalinist strongman, shored up the authority of the Communist party and cultivated a personality cult, combining repression and surveillance at home with aggression abroad.

  His 3^rd Term chart, 23 October 2022 5.08pm Beijing, has dictatorship written all over it with a 10^th house controlling Pluto square Sun and Pluto in a ruthless quincunx to Mars. His Mars is in a publicity-attracting but not always decisive square to Neptune; and there’s an inflexible Saturn in Aquarius in a conflicted square to Uranus.

  He’s facing a momentous struggle ahead to overcome considerable obstacles with tr Pluto square the Term Sun and Venus through 2023 until late 2024; a panicky-failure tr Neptune square Mars in 2023; and worse by 2025/6 when the tr Neptune Saturn conjunction in Aries are in a confidence and enthusiasm-denting conjunction with the Term Jupiter.

  The China economy is already ailing amid greater state meddling and the fallout from Covid, there is domestic discontent over the handling of the pandemic, and tensions with the west have been rising for years over trade and the treatment of Uyghurs as well as worries about military expansion in the South China Sea, Hong Kong and ramped up threats against Taiwan.

  The Term chart echoes themes on his personal chart, 15 June 1953, with an undermining tr Neptune square his Sun this year into 2023, and worsening as tr Neptune squares his Sun/Mars midpoint and finally makes a failure-ridden square to his Mars at zero Cancer in 2025/26. Plus a disruptive tr Uranus opposition his emphasised Pluto in Leo in 2023.

  The China 1 January 1912 chart has the same Pluto focal point Yod as the UK, in this case inconjunct Uranus sextile Venus. The Pluto will be undermined by tr Neptune square from May 2023 to late 2024 which could undermine China’s global influence. Certainly things are changing with tr Pluto conjunct the Uranus in 2022/23 so there could be a potential for disruption and rebellion; with shocks and jolts in 2024 with tr Uranus conjunct the Mars and opposition Venus. There may be an over confident drive for power and influence in 2024 which could well backfire.

Behind every comedy there’s often a tragedy. Matthew Perry, the wisecracking Chandler of Friends, the most popular TV show of all time, has revealed all about his relentless addiction problems over decades. It saw him in and out of 15 rehabs and almost killed him in 2018 when his colon burst due to the overuse of opioid drugs, putting him in a coma for two weeks with a 2% survival chance and required a colostomy bag for nine months. During one low point during Friends he was taking 55 tablets of Vicodin each day and his weight dropped to 58kg (9st 1oz).

 He was born 19 August 1969 4.47am North Adams, Massachusetts, with an actor father and a journalist mother who split before his first birthday. He has an entertaining Leo Sun in his upfront 1st house square a filmic and escapist Neptune in the 4^th; with an intensely emotional Scorpio Moon also in his 4^th opposition a hard-working 10^th house Saturn in Taurus. And Venus in sensitive, self-protective Cancer in his 12^th.

  His childhood does not look to have been emotionally supportive with a Saturn-afflicted Moon, a hidden Venus and missing a strong male role model for a father. His Sun and Neptune are both in hard aspect to the destructive Mars/Saturn midpoint which would create setbacks for him. His Sun/Moon midpoint is conjunct Uranus so finding a stable one-to-one relationship would never be easy for him.

   When Friends launched on 22 September 1994, he said he had been praying fervently to be famous, only later to discover it did not solve any of his problems. At that point tr Pluto was conjunct his 4^th house Neptune which would have a devastating effect before moving to square his Sun the following year as his life changed out of all recognition. Tr Neptune and Uranus were also hovering over the opposition to his Venus.

  When he hit rock bottom in June 2018 tr Uranus just into Taurus was conjunct his Midheaven for a sudden change of direction; and tr Pluto in his 6^th house of health was opposing his 12^th house Venus. His Solar Arc Neptune was also hovering on the cusp of his 6^th. His Progressed Moon was conjunct his Sun a month or so after he was hospitalised for an internal rebirth. And his Solar Arc Jupiter was wending its way towards a conjunction with his Neptune in the aftermath as he struggled towards a new life.

His 12th house Venus in Cancer and 4th house Neptune in Scorpio do appear to be the triggers for his problems.

   Saturn has made a full cycle since Friends launched in 1994 as his memoir Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing  is coming out. It won’t be easy for him but tr Jupiter going through his 10^th at the moment bringing attention and praise will help and tr Saturn moving upwards in his chart for the next decade will give him resilience.

Add On: Matthew Perry is having to withdraw a trashing of Keanu Reeves in his memoir. In a thoughtless attempt to eulogize River Phoenix, the tragic young actor who died from an overdose, he regretted his death and wondered why Keanu Reeves was still alive. He has since said he is a big Reeves’s fan, “I just chose a random name, my mistake. I apologize. I should have used my own name instead.”

  Hmm.  Their synastry does suggest a hostile aggravated interface with Perry’s Mars square Reeves’ Pluto Uranus. And the relationship chart has a composite Mars opposition Saturn which is similarly antagonistic. There must be some history in there.

 Miriam Margolyes, who left Perry floundering on a TV interview show some years back, has a heavyweight Jupiter, Sun, Uranus, Saturn in Taurus square Mars which would overwhelm Perry’s Leo Sun square Neptune and leave him bewildered.

 Both Reeves and Miriam have their Jupiter in Taurus in Perry’s 10^th house so perhaps his Leo Sun felt outshone by the confidence of both.

Undead Boris, try-try-again Rishi or fishy Penny Mordaunt is the platter du jour for Tory MPs as they wrestle for the soul of the party in the desperate hope of staving off implosion at the next General Election. Candidates need 100 MP nominations to run which have to be whipped up this week. The right wing may muster up Suella Braverman to stymie the chances of Rishi Sunak getting in.

  Boris is a possibility though some centrist MPs say they would resign the Tory whip or defect in protest as they regard him as unacceptable. That would allow Keir Starmer to force a snap election and trigger a Conservative wipeout. A poll today shows the Tories 39 points behind Labour, at their lowest ever rating. 

  Boris, with a Pandora’s box of multiple Gemini planets including an afflicted Mars, has next week’s Scorpio Solar Eclipse conjunct his Moon which usually brings up the past and scrutiny of public image. If solid foundations have been laid in the past then there is less trouble.  If not there can be a crumble-into-dust experience and a need to build better foundations for the future. Donald Trump had this in late 2020.

 The Lunar Eclipse in early November in effect now will hit BJ’s over-hopeful, scandal-attracting Neptune opposition Jupiter and will likely lead to a surge in over-confidence. Tr Uranus also returns to bring him down to earth with a bump this December and early in 2023.   He does have his Solar Arc Jupiter almost conjunct his Midheaven which is successful so something will go right over the next eighteen months (birth time being accurate) and tr Jupiter moving into his financial 8^th from July 2023 onwards for a year suggests a considerable improvement in his finances.

  There’s nothing to indicate that his relationship with either the Tory Party or the UK is improving. With the UK there are indications of great alarm across this election and worse in 2023. With the Tories he’s continuing on a downhill slide now till 2024. Which doesn’t mean the right-wing won’t back him but they’ll be damned if they do.

Rishi Sunak, an earthy Sun Mercury in Taurus in a sensible trine to Saturn in Virgo, opposition Uranus, does have one triumphant influence with his Solar Arc Pluto square his Jupiter around now. But transits to his midpoints aren’t great – indeed suggest that high hopes get dashed till early December.

  His relationship chart with the Tories 1912 hints at the potential for transformation and success though it is blow hot, blow cold combination and doesn’t show much movement until mid 2023 onwards. With the UK – this November looks  upbeat and relieved between them; and this December looks a time for radical change. Though if he loses he could well up-sticks and head for California which would fit with a sigh of relief equally as well.

Penny Mordaunt is a New Moon and Venus and Mercury in Pisces mainly square Saturn in Gemini opposition Neptune – another Mutable windmill. There’s nothing much showing on her chart (without a birth time) except for a jangled Saturn/Uranus at the moment until a downbeat Sun/Saturn in January plus Neptunian losses next year. Where she picks up luck and success will be 2024/2025 with tr Pluto conjunct her Jupiter. Her relationship chart with the Tories 1912 hints she could be a driving force for reform; and with the UK looks more hopeful in 2024, though she would attract hostility at the same time.    

  Even more so than usual it’s all muddy waters.

Pluto is in an aggravated quincunx to Mars and in a dogmatic, fanatical, hostile-debate square to Mercury in Libra.

   Saturn is making the final close aspect to Uranus which has bedevilled the past two years with high-tension, impatience with restrictions and a constant pull between opposites – the forces of progress and the forces intent on holding to the status quo.

  If anything it looks less solid than the Truss term.   Sigh.
