Syria – with ‘mafia mob boss’ Assad in charge for now

Syria is about to hold elections described in Europe as a farce which will undoubtedly return Bashar Assad on an unassailable and risible majority. The country battered by a savage war for a decade, with Russia and Iran as military backstops, has disappeared from the headlines but Bashar Assad has been ruthlessly consolidating his family’s power and wealth overseeing what is left of a broken nation. Half of Syria’s population is displaced, with many remaining outside its borders, while more than 500,000 people were killed and the economy disintegrated. A former CIA officer said “Assad is the Tony Soprano of the Middle East – at bare bones, a mob boss, overseeing a crime syndicate simply designed to enrich himself and his family, and always willing to inflict violence to achieve his goals.”
Long gone is the west’s delusion of a progressive young president, ‘the dashing young ophthalmologist trained in the UK, in love with western technology, married to a beautiful former banker.’
Although the Syrian exile view is gloomy about any change ahead there may be a glimmer of hope on the horizon. His Presidency chart, 17 July 2000, has been under extreme pressure from tr Pluto opposition the Mars recently and until late this year the Sun; but it is 2022 which will be the real test. Next year the Solar Arc Uranus will square the Pluto which is often when administrations/regimes are at their least stable and topple-off-perch moments can occur.
His own chart, 11 September 1965, has a tumultuous Sun, Uranus, Pluto in Virgo opposition Saturn in Pisces, sextile an unpleasant Mars in vengeful Scorpio conjunct Neptune which never looked that charming. His Mars will be rattled up from this July by tr Uranus in a shocking and insecure opposition from tr Uranus running into 2022; and in 2022 as well both tr Saturn and tr Uranus will hit on his Neptune. Even worse his Solar Arc Sun will conjunct his Mars in 2022 for a car-crash moment and that starts a run of several highly dangerous years with his Solar Arc Sun, Pluto, Uranus crashing across his Mars Neptune.
The shifting sands of the Middle East may well be blowing in new directions whether in Syria or elsewhere. There was an alarming piece which I now can’t find suggesting the semi-coup hinted at recently in Jordan – see post April 4 2021 – was set in motion by other neighbouring players, probably Saudi’s Mohammed Bin Salman. If Trump had been returned to the White House the dreaded son-in-law Jared would have been in there bro-romancing and redrawing the balance of power in the ME. Makes the blood run cold even contemplating it as a script for a bad movie.
Found it:
“Had he [Trump] been re-elected, this would be a very different region.”

Dominic Cummings – hot coals of vengeance ++ Hancock

“We must have bloody noses and crack’d crowns.” (Henry IV Part 1)
Dominic Cummings let fly with both barrels when talking to MPs about the government’s handling of the Covid crisis before he was summarily tossed out of the door last November. In a positively Shakespearean rant he accused Boris Johnson of being unfit to be PM and Health Secretary Matt Hancock of lying repeatedly and behaving in a ‘criminal’ way. And on and on and on. Carrie Symonds got it in the neck as well for kvetching about media coverage of her dog on a day of national crisis. How much of it will stick given general dislike of Cummings and a sense that much of it is a self-serving, vengeful gripe, is questionable. But the barbs are surely piling up for Boris’s political epitaph when it comes.
Cummings has a track record of trashing erstwhile bosses and is such a loose cannon with a paranoid Sun Neptune in Sagittarius opposition Saturn square a high-wire Mars in Pisces that it’s a miracle anyone hires him. Especially Boris with whom his chart clashed mightily since both their Martian Mutable T Squares are not only individual tinderboxes they also sit at cross purposes. And both are rattled up by today’s Sagittarius Lunar Eclipse. What is also being jangled is the Mercury in Sagittarius on the Boris Government chart exactly now by the Lunar Eclipse and indeed the Sagittarius Sun by the June Solar Eclipse.
Their relationship chart has a composite, bad-tempered Mars Saturn conjunction inconjunct an unstable Sun Pluto, so was always guaranteed to blow sooner rather than later. Tr Neptune has been busily dissolving the ties that bind for some time and will continue to do so for several years ahead.
Cummings’ relationship chart with Carrie is as fraught in a different way with a power-struggling Sun Mercury square Pluto and hostile Mars trine Pluto and it will be under pressure until at least 2024. This year in particular is being rocked around by tr Uranus square tr Saturn in hard aspect to the composite Mars.
Matt Hancock, hasn’t had a good press from anyone and hardly seems up to the job but there is something else going on between him and Cummings with a struggle-for-supremacy composite Jupiter Pluto square Mars.
The one chart which is showing outright panic now is the relationship between Boris and Carrie so there may be behind-the-scene ramifications which aren’t too obvious on the instant.
Cummings himself has tr Uranus opposition his vehement, ranting, demagogic Mercury/Pluto midpoint exactly now and on and off into early 2022. He’ll have a full-steam ahead confidence surge from early 2022 to late 2023 as he gets a new project underway. But he’s still got the sinking panics to come mid this September to mid October and mid January to mid February 2022 – when the Boris connection also looks to be under water.
Matt Hancock, the Health Secretary, 2 October 1978 is a New Moon, Mercury, Pluto in Libra; with his Sun sextile Jupiter in Leo – shades of David Cameron. His Saturn is in a creative and neurotic, not-always-decisive square to Neptune. All of which sounds fairly mushy except for a stubborn and uncompromising, intensely secretive Mars, Uranus and Venus in Scorpio. His Mars is being rattled by tr Saturn squares and setbacks through this year and his Uranus will catch the tr Uranus opposition from July onwards which could cause an upset or two, or change his plans about what he wants ahead. Without a birth time there’s not much else showing. His relationship with Boris hints at an argumentative July onwards with tr Uranus square the Mercury.
But unless Mark Sedwill, the former Cabinet Secretary, backs up Dom’s allegations of lies, he’ll possibly escape any censure since Boris will be rubbishing Cummings to save his own reputation.
Eclipses, Solar and Lunar – 2021

A run round the Eclipses in 2021.
The Total Lunar Eclipse, a powerful Full Moon, on 26 May falls at five degrees Sagittarius/Gemini. The Sun opposition Moon squares onto Jupiter which will bring an expansive mood. Though Jupiter can overdo the exaggeration and magnify the negative as well as the positive. There will be a frustratingly stuck and high-risk Mars opposition Pluto with a slippery Neptune square Mercury and Venus, trine Mars and sextile Pluto so there will be evasiveness and confusion. Plus the ratchety unpredictable Saturn square Uranus is in place for a tussle between the old ways and reforms.
The Solar Eclipse (New Moon) following on 10th June is at nineteen degrees Gemini square Neptune with much the same ambience as the Lunar with head-in-the-clouds, evasive Neptune even more emphasised; and the aggravated and blocked Mars opposition Pluto still in place as well as Saturn square Uranus. However Bernadette Brady says of the 5 North Saros Series in which it falls that it will accompany ‘sudden flashes of ideas with a psychic or unconscious flavour, prophetic dreams’ and is a creative series that should bring a sense of enrichment with hunches proving to be accurate. It was around previously in 2003, 1985, 1967, 1949, 1931, 1913.
The Partial Lunar Eclipse on 19th November at 27 degrees Taurus/Scorpio is again square Jupiter and trine Neptune, sextile Pluto so will bring confidence and heightened ambitions. Though there is a disruptive Mars in Scorpio opposition Uranus square Saturn which will cause a few ripples.
The Total Solar Eclipse of 4 December 2021 falls at twelve degrees Sagittarius and will be square Neptune again. There’s also an emotionally charged, seductive Venus Pluto conjunction sextile Mars. Bernadette Brady says: ‘This is a very joyful, happy family of eclipses’ – good news, falling in love, a peak experience. Benefits will continue well after the eclipse has passed.
It was around before in 2003, 1985, 1967, 1949, 1931, 1913.
Eclipses are challenges to develop one area of life which will vary with each sign. Reading the ascendant sign as well as sun sign can be helpful. The Eclipse effect lingers for a few months after the due date.
ARIES: The June Solar Eclipse suggests paying attention to everyday details, getting better organised and managing your time well will avoid problems. The December Eclipse will then turn your focus on travel, adventures, big thinking and grand plans. The shift into Scorpio/Taurus for the November Lunar Eclipse is a hint of the shift coming in 2022 turning your attention to your finances.
TAURUS: The Gemini June Solar Eclipse falls in your chart area of personal finances so it won’t be a time to throw money around or spend to impress. Being pro-active about improving your situation and long-term security will be good. The December Solar Eclipse will focus on joint finances which is where you share joint responsibility with partners or with credit card companies, mortgages etc. Finding a new approach will iron out problems which means co-operating in a more flexible way. The November Lunar Eclipse in your own sign will bring relationships into focus which will be a theme for 2022.
GEMINI: This is the second year of the Gemini/Sagittarius Eclipses so a definite turning point or staging post in your life where you make up your mind what comes next and put changes in place. The June Solar Eclipse says it’s your life and needs to be your choices so you will be more independent-minded for the next few months. Then from December you’ll turn your attention to close relationships and need to be more adaptable. The November Lunar Eclipse hints that saying fit and healthy will be key which means finding time for rest and relaxation as well as improving your lifestyle choices.
CANCER: The general tenor of the Gemini and then Sagittarius Eclipse is you need to find peace of mind and then renew your determination to stay on track with your healthy living regimes. The June Gemini Eclipse in the sign before yours will bring benefits if you can explore what is hidden or lies below the surface in your life. It will be inward looking while the December Sagittarius Eclipse will focus your mind on practicalities, work and paying attention to your body’s needs. The Taurus Lunar Eclipse in November will be fun and prompt you to revitalise your social life.
LEO: The June Gemini Eclipse will prompt you to sort out your long-term plans since you’ll want to revise your aims and goals. You’ll also be keen to widen your circle of friends. The December Eclipse will find you keen on having more fun in your leisure activities and in attracting more attention and affection. The Taurus Lunar Eclipse will indicate you need to find a better balance between your head and your heart, between outer ambitions and your home life.
VIRGO: The June Gemini Eclipse at your Midheaven will find you redoubling your efforts to attract recognition and respect for your talents and achievements. It will ramp up your ambitions so it won’t be a time to hide in a corner. The December Sagittarius Eclipse will do the opposite, putting home and emotional contentment up as the priority. The Taurus November Lunar Eclipse will be communicative, with ideas spilling out left, right and centre though you’ll need to pay attention to details as well as planning for adventures.
LIBRA: The June Gemini Eclipse will set your sights higher and give you the urge to broaden your horizons in the months to come. You’ll be thinking big, communicating confidently and not worrying about too many practical details as you fly along enthusiastically. The December Eclipse will get your feet back on the ground, having to focus on everyday practicalities, manage your time well and be better organised. The Taurus Lunar Eclipse in November will turn your gaze towards your finances and prompt you to take the initiative about making yourself more secure.
SCORPIO: The June Gemini Solar Eclipse falling in the deepest, most confidential area of your chart will challenge you to alter the way you share, care, relate and co-operate over money or your emotional life. Changing the habits of a lifetime won’t be easy but you will benefit if you can. The December Sagittarius Eclipse will advise against throwing money to impress and prompt you to take the initiative to boost your security in the longer term. The Taurus Lunar Eclipse in November will bring close partnerships into focus as you negotiate changing agreements.
SAGITTARIUS: These are key eclipses for you, as were last year’s since they fall in your opposite and your own sign. The June Gemini Eclipse will suggest a need for different agreements with close partners and perhaps a hint that being more adaptable and less self-sufficient will bring you more fulfilment emotionally. In December the Sagittarius Solar Eclipse says you need to make decisions about the next few years and they will need to be your choices. You will be more independent for a few months until you get the decisions made. The November Lunar Eclipse says work and fitness need to be priorities as well.
CAPRICORN: The June Gemini Eclipse falls in your chart area of work, service to others, duty and fitness. So staying practical will be your main thrust with a need to improve your healthy-living regimes to cope with the pile of chores in front of you for a few months ahead. The December Sagittarius Eclipse hints that stepping back to sit on the side lines for a while and let others do the running around will be good. You need a chance for reflection. The Taurus November Lunar Eclipse will inject a livelier mood some of the time with more socialising in the company of friends.
AQUARIUS: A fun-loving Gemini Solar eclipse in June will send you off in search of enjoyment, entertainment and more attention. If you lack affection then you need to hand out kisses and cuddles and it’ll all come back to you. By December you’ll be widening your circle of friends and sorting out longer term plans. The November Lunar Eclipse in Taurus will give you a chance to spend more time with loved ones as well and put down roots.
PISCES: The June Gemini Eclipse at the base of your chart will find you yearning for emotional, family and domestic contentment and where you feel there are lacks in those areas taking steps to put changes in place. The December Eclipse at your midheaven will rev up your ambitions so you’ll want to have your talents and achievements recognised and make a few waves. The November Lunar Eclipse in Taurus will find you reaching out, at times, to make contact with friends and widen your circle of acquaintances.
This will go up in the normal place soon.
Max Mosely – exerting control on his back story

Max Mosely has died, famous as a key figure spearheading Formula One racing for decades and infamous as the son of the prominent fascists ‘Blackshirt’ Oswald Mosley and the former Diana Mitford; and latterly a relentless campaigner for press regulation after he was outed by a Murdoch tabloid for a sado-masochistic orgy with prostitutes. The liberal left, including Labour’s Tom Watson became cheerleaders for his attacks on media intrusion but then dropped him like a hot brick when his earlier pro-Nazi and anti-immigrant, racist past emerged. He was instrumental in the fight against hacking which led to the News of the World’s demise, which earned him plaudits but his dubious past and dubious motives left him open to attack.
He was born 13 April 1940 eleven weeks before his parents were interned in prison for three years because of their pro-Hitler propaganda. He was the fourth child of Oswald Mosely and Diana Mitford, whose 1936 Berlin wedding was held in the home of Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels and attended by Adolf Hitler. Oswald was an unpleasant character who cheated on his first wife, Lady Cynthia Curzon, with her sister and her stepmother and after her death married his (other) mistress Diana Mitford who had been cheating on her Guinness family husband – London’s bright young things.
Max had a mixed childhood, with nannies and home-schooling initially, time spent in Ireland and two years in a boarding school in Germany with links to Nazi sympathisers. At Oxford he became a cheerleader for his father’s return to political life with a rebranded fascist party, which campaigned against Jews as well as West Indian immigrants and he helped stoke the flames that led to the 1958 race riots in Notting Hill.
The sado-masochistic orgy which was reported in the News of the World detailed that he had whipped prostitutes dressed in striped pyjamas while counting in German. This was the kind of information he wanted silenced.
He once said that his predilection for sadomasochistic sex had begun in his childhood – “The interest started when my age was still in single figures” – though he hid it from his wife and friends.
He had a super-confident Sun Jupiter in Aries which was inconjunct Neptune – lucky, pro-active, overly grandiose and another of those who thought he ought to be untouchable. He also had a ramped up Venus Mars conjunction in Gemini, redolent of Jeffrey Epstein and some of his associates. There’s also a slippery and evasive Mercury opposition Neptune and an unyielding Saturn in Taurus square Pluto in Leo with his Sun Jupiter square Pluto as well leading to a might-makes-right attitude. When push comes to shove, he was no shrinking violet. At first glance it seems a lighter chart than I’d have expected but house placings will make a considerable difference.
He was certainly nowhere near as off-putting as his father Oswald, 16 November 1896, a Sun, Uranus, Saturn, Mercury in Scorpio square an Aquarius North Node; and the signature Neptune Pluto in Gemini of the time with Mars also in Gemini opposition Venus.
His mother Diana Mitford, supposedly the brains behind the family’s political aspirations, was a controlling Sun Pluto in Gemini with an explosive, disruptive Mars in Cancer opposition Uranus – not one for compromising. Evidently she never repented her fascist, anti-Semitic views.
It’s a stretch with no birth time but I would wonder about Max Mosley’s Gemini Moon which was conjunct his mother’s Sun Pluto and his father’s Mars. And his Pluto was conjunct his mother’s Mars. All of which adds up to a bubbling volcano of hostility with monumental power struggles not the least between his parents and between himself and his mother, which he play acted in his dominance/submission games.
His 9th Harmonic (= what brings pleasure) has a ruthless Pluto Mars connection to Neptune, which does suggest a deviation from the norm. And his Uranus was conjunct his Mars/Saturn and Venus/Saturn midpoints which would give him a cruel streak and a wayward love life.

Boris & Carrie – a snap, crackle, pop wedding

A happy occasion to brighten spirits in advance with Boris and Carrie having sent out ‘put in your diary’ cards for a putative wedding on July 30 2022. Given her ambitious and mega-expensive decoration scheme for the No 10 makeover she no doubt wants time to plan a showy event to remember.
The chosen day has a firecracker, argumentative Mars Uranus conjunction square Mercury Moon opposition Saturn so it does not point to a calm or particularly upbeat mood.
Given Boris’s marital and romantic track record it wouldn’t be surprising if he viewed the prospect with some trepidation and there are hints of alarm on his chart. His Solar Arc Saturn is in a gloomy opposition to his Moon; tr Saturn is in a discouraging and dutiful opposition to his Solar Arc Sun, Venus; and tr Pluto is in a frustrating, trapped opposition to his Solar Arc Mars. Plus a trio of transits to midpoints which are less than euphoric.
Carrie, 17 March 1988, is in marginally better spirits with tr Pluto sextile her Pisces Sun exactly and her Solar Arc Sun will be in a confident, lucky conjunction to her Jupiter then or immediately after. She will have a few nervy and sinking moments, but looks in better shape than the groom. Though she will have tr Neptune conjunct her Sun in 2023/4 which will be lacklustre, perhaps disappointing.
Their relationship chart has a successful, confident composite Sun Node Jupiter – with both the Sun and Jupiter on the apex of a Yod to a hyper-ambitious Pluto sextile Neptune. That is yet another self-righteous, over-grandiose Yod, making the fourth this week. The Yod itself is an indication of a relationship that will have fateful consequences for both and will change their lifestyles radically.
There is a welded-together Saturn trine Pluto trine Venus in Air signs, giving them a strong intellectual and ideological bond; though with constant running tensions from the Uranus square Saturn tied into Jupiter and the Sun.
This year is seeing their connection under a good deal of pressure with the tr Saturn square tr Uranus battering the composite Sun and a sinking-panic tr Neptune conjunct the composite Mars picking up from the 30th of this month and running off and on until February 2023.
Usually I don’t like raining on a happy couple’s parade but given the triumph-of-hope-over-experience nature of this beast, I’d see 2025 or thereabouts as being the danger point – with tr Uranus in hard aspect to Boris’s Sun/Moon midpoint and tr Saturn conjunct Carrie’s Sun/Moon. Also Boris’s Moon catches the tr Pluto square in 2023/24. And the relationship chart will be under severe pressure from tr Pluto conjunct the composite Saturn and square Uranus.
All this with a caveat that there is much water to flow under many bridges between now and all may change.
Belarus dictator – flagrant abuse of airspace ++ Roman Protasevich

‘An act of state terrorism’ is how the forced diversion of a Ryanair flight going from Greece to Lithuania with a fake bomb threat in order to seize a Belarusian opposition activist on board is being described. Alexander Lukashenko, Europe’s last dictator, president of Belarus since 1994, has been facing increasing opposition since ‘deeply’ flawed elections last year led to huge protests over his economic mismanagement and handling of the pandemic. The hundreds of thousands of Belarusians who took to the streets were subject to a brutal crackdown.
Lukashenko, 30 August 1954, is a Sun Virgo trine Mars in Capricorn sextile Saturn in Scorpio – hard-edged, unsentimental. His Pluto is also in a ruthless trine to Mars. He’s got a lucky Jupiter Uranus in Cancer squaring a can-be-fanatical Neptune and Venus in Libra. Tr Pluto is square his Neptune and opposition his Uranus this year for confusion and disruption; with his nadir looking like 2023/24.
Though what will be more pertinent is his presidency chart, 20 July 1994, which has been badly tattled in recent times with tr Pluto conjunct the Neptune in 2019/2021 and has now moved to conjunct the Uranus for a potential turnaround or upset; with more pressure and challenges in 2022/23 from tr Pluto opposition the Sun.
The modern Belarus country chart, 25 August 1991, maybe 6pm, Minsk, is facing its greatest test in 2022 when there is a panicky-failure tr Neptune opposition the Mars from May onwards till late 2023 and tr Uranus will oppose the Pluto from June onwards for a year which will most likely lead to a rebellion, revolution, considerable public unrest. If the start time is accurate tr Uranus will move then into the 4th house stirring up domestic disruption and insistent pressure for change.
Roman Protasevich, who was dragged off the plane in fear of his life, was born, according to net sources, on 5 May 1995 which makes him a stalwart Sun Taurus with the highly-strung Neptune Uranus conjunction on the focal point of a tough-minded mini-Grand Trine between Pluto and Saturn. He also has one or maybe two Yods. His Saturn in Pisces is sextile Neptune and both are inconjunct Mars in Leo, making him assertive but also with a tendency to be erratic and disruptive. He also has his Jupiter inconjunct his Sun (yet another!) and perhaps sextile a Cancer Moon.
He’s having a confusing, devastating, nerve-stretching 2021 and much the same in a swampy, undermining 2022.

Stonewall – a campaign that lost its way

Stonewall, the LGBT rights charity, is coming under increasing attack for its support of militant transgender policies which have led to a cancel culture in universities aimed at gender critical academics. It has also lent its weight to the argument that would-be-trans children should be allowed to consent to surgical and chemical interference. None of which were in its original remit and bring it into headlong conflict with many of those whom it was set up to support. Prominent LGBT activists are now speaking out against Stonewall and some are even suing.
It’s slogan ‘Acceptance without exception’ – people should be treated as the ‘gender’ they say they are – has become big business as its ‘Stonewall Diversity Champions’ scheme is getting £3 million a year and charging organisations thousands of pounds a year for accreditation as ‘LGBT inclusive’; among those signed up are Government departments, local authorities, corporations, media companies, universities, police forces and even the British Army.
It was set up on 24 May 1989, named after the 1969 Stonewall Riots in New York, when the turmoil of the triple conjunction in Capricorn was in place with a hard-edged Mars opposition Saturn and trine Pluto so there was no doubting the determination that fuelled its fire.
And really its work was done by 2014 when the Same Sex Marriage Act came in. At that point there was a reformist and upbeat tr Jupiter in Cancer opposition Pluto square Uranus which shook up the Stonewall Mars in Cancer opposition Saturn Neptune (Uranus). Though with tr Neptune having just crossed over the square to the Gemini Sun there may also have been a sinking feeling of an established organisation which no longer had a purpose. It became a campaign hunting for a cause and landed on transgender as its raison d’etre even though it clashed with many of its supporter’s views and interests.
This is the third chart in a row this week with a grandiose Jupiterian Yod – see Tony Hall under Bashir, and Franco Nero under Spacey. Stonewall’s Jupiter Venus in communicative Gemini are inconjunct Pluto sextile Saturn Neptune which brings an ability to make a difference in social and cultural affairs but also has the downside of a fickle and overblown Jupiter which can prove its undoing.
At the moment the Solar Arc Jupiter is conjunct the Stonewall Mars for an upsurge in energy and activity. But the triple conjunction has also moved to put the Solar Arc Saturn exactly square the Stonewall Pluto, followed next year by Solar Arc Neptune square Pluto which is a roadblock followed by devastation and confusion. With the overly expansive Jupiter at risk of going well over the score in late 2022/early 2023 as the Solar Arc Pluto opposes the apex Jupiter. That latter can accompany over-confident pushes which transgress established regulations and lead to battles with authorities which usually end up in failure. There will also be a jolting shock in 2022 from Solar Arc Sun opposition the Uranus.
At the risk of bringing down the ceiling on my head – I’ve always though there was a fundamentalist zeal about the more visible end of the transgender lobby that veered towards the pathological. It has turned into one of these over-heated cultural obsessions affecting a tiny number of people that at some point has to either run out of steam or be blown out of the water. Yes people suffering from gender dysphoria have to be accepted and treated with sympathy but that doesn’t mean the rights of others have to be put at risk.
Kevin Spacey – trying to crawl out of his bunker

Kevin Spacey, still facing possible charges of sexual harassment and buried under the ignominy of multiple cases of the same which couldn’t be prosecuted because the statute of limitations had run out, has never owned up to guilt or contrition. Now he is to star in a sex abuse drama playing a detective investigating spurious claims of paedophilia against a blind artist. It will co-star Vanessa Redgrave and be directed by her husband, acclaimed Italian film talent Franco Nero.
As film critic Robbie Collin in the Telegraph expostulated –“It’s not just unethical – it’s insane. Welcoming Spacey back would be a terrible moral and commercial decision.”
It would be Spacey’s first big screen feature since his 2017 fall from grace which led to the cancellation of his role in House of Cards and his replacement by Christopher Plummer in Ridley Scott’s All the Money. The only movie of his to be released in the aftermath, the Billionaire Boys Club, was a commercial disaster, making 600 dollars in its opening weekend.
Spacey, 27 July 1959 South Orange, New Jersey, (maybe 5.51am) had a violent, sexually abusive, racist Nazi- supporter father. He has an ego-centric Leo Sun square a filmic Neptune and possibly square a Taurus Moon. More significantly given his horrifying father, he has a rage-filled Mars Pluto in Virgo with his Mars conjunct Venus which would arguably divert his unbearable feelings towards sexual encounters. Hugely talented, very damaged and destructive as well as narcissistic.
He does have his Solar Arc Mars conjunct his Neptune now and Solar Pluto in a devastating conjunction to his Neptune by 2023 – so an odd moment to pick to step back out into the public arena.
Franco Nero, 23 November 1941 10.30pm is a Sun Sagittarius with a 10th house Saturn Uranus in Taurus so good executive and organisational material for an unconventional business. He also has Pluto in Leo on his Ascendant trine Mars in Aries and an Aquarius Moon – not a man for bending in the prevailing breeze. He’s also got a Jupiterian Yod onto Mercury sextile Venus – another of those can-be-influential-in-society placings if handled correctly. If not, self-righteous arrogance will prove its undoing.
Vanessa Redgrave, 30 January 1937 6pm London, from the well-known left-wing thespian family, has an Aquarius Sun squaring onto Mars in Scorpio opposition Uranus Midheaven in Taurus – so no slouch herself when it comes to digging in her heels and bracing against criticism. She’s being battered every which way this year by the tr Saturn square tr Uranus hitting her Sun, Mars and Midheaven – so everything could go up in the air.
Her relationship with Spacey is highly stressed this year and next; and Nero’s relationship with him is in a downhill slide from later this month for two years. It may never happen when the money men see the flak.
Roman Polanski may have been the example in mind when they decided to bring Spacey in from the cold, since he’s always been welcome in European cinema despite his earlier sins. But Spacey’s crimes may be too new, too raw and lacking in remorse from the perpetrator – as well as running against the grain of the present climate.
Elon Musk – mischievous mastermind +Michael Burry

Centibillionaire and all-round mad genius Elon Musk is up to his old tricks sending Bitcoin on a wild ride with his tweets sparking a severe price crash, not helped by Chinese regulators announcing a cryptocurrency payment ban. Though the market stabilised after Musk confirmed that Tesla would not be selling its substantial bitcoin holdings.
Born 28 June 1971, no BT, Pretoria, South Africa, He has a Cancer Sun Mercury square an innovative Uranus and a creative though also neurotic and see-saw Saturn in Gemini opposition Neptune in Sagittarius and Jupiter in late Scorpio. Plus a stubborn Mars in Aquarius in an adventurous and risk-taking square to Jupiter.
He’ll be in a confident, full-steam-ahead mood from early 2022 to late 2023 with tr Pluto sextile his Jupiter and square his Jupiter/Pluto midpoint though will be facing major frustrations at the same time with tr Pluto square his Sun/Mars midpoint. It’s 2023 which will run him into more major headaches with an undermining tr Neptune opposition his Pluto, a shocking/insecure tr Uranus square his Mars and a discouraging slog from tr Pluto opposition his Saturn/Pluto midpoint. Plus two nerve-twanging Solar Arcs in 2024/5 of his SA Uranus conjunct his Neptune and opposition his Saturn.
The Tesla 2003 and IPO charts look edgy and slumped in 2023/2024 so something will come off the rails however briefly.
The Bitcoin chart, 3 January 2009, looks very blocked this year with the Solar Arc Pluto conjunct the Sun and an uncertain tr Neptune opposition Saturn. But will be on a confident high come 2023/24. Coinbase is facing a ropey two or three years ahead with the odd up and more downs.
ADD ON: Michael Burry, The Big Short investor, the first to foresee and profit from the subprime mortgage crisis of 2007/10 has disclosed a short position betting against Tesla Inc shares worth more than half a billion dollars. Born 19 June 1971 a few days before Musk he has a Sun Mercury in Gemini square Pluto in Virgo and Saturn Venus trine Uranus and opposition Neptune – more controlling than Musk but equally as inventive and imaginative. Like Musk his 2022/23 have definite Jupiterian uplift; with a lucky break late 2022/early 23 from Solar Arc Uranus conjunct his Jupiter. But 2023 is when his woes escalate with tr Neptune square his Sun and opposition his Pluto and tr Uranus squares his Mars.
