Bernie Sanders and Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) are mounting a fight back against the Trump administration with a recent anti-oligarchy rally attracting 36,000 people in Los Angeles.
AOC, 13 October 1989 11.50am New York, an upfront Sun Mars in Libra with a probably Aries Moon opposition Mercury square Uranus is having a rough few weeks ahead with tr Uranus in a calamitous opposition to her Mars/Saturn midpoint from the 27th of this month followed by a panicky tr Uranus opposition her Mars/Neptune midpoint in May, repeating January to mid March 2026. Though with better news this June, December, March/April 2026 with a Jupiter midpoint bringing a lucky break.
She also has the tr Saturn Neptune in Aries starting to square her Capricorn triple conjunction picking up from later this month on on until nearly the end of this decade – as do all of her generation. 2028/29 looks uncertain with tr Neptune square her Saturn. But she also has tr Jupiter crossing her midheaven and through her 10th (birth time being sound) from October 2028 and across the Inauguration; with one upbeat midpoint giving her cheer as results come in.
Bernie Sanders, 8 September 1941 New York, a Sun Virgo with a fiery Mars Moon in Aries, and Uranus conjunct Saturn, will plough ahead with vigour till the end of this year with tr Pluto opposition his Sun/Jupiter midpoint though will hit a slump in 2026/27 with tr Saturn Neptune square his Sun/Mars midpoint. He will get a tremendous boost probably early in 2028 with his Solar Arc Jupiter conjunct his Sun. He also has an upbeat and successful tr Pluto opposition his Sun/Jupiter midpoint on and off through 2027 and 2028, including over the election. Though he will have a disastrous run in during September to mid October 2028.
By and large there may be some reasons for cheer at the next election. Or at the very least it does not look like a total disaster for the Democrats.
ADD ON: Wes Moore, Governor of Maryland, 15 October 1978, is being cheered on for 2028 by George Clooney. He is fairly new to the scene but is looking more than upbeat over the 2028 election with his Solar Arc Jupiter exactly conjunct his North Node and tr Jupiter exactly conjunct his Pluto at the election and tr Jupiter moving across the conjunction to his Libra Sun through the December. His birthday is only a day away from AOC. Whatever happens he is celebrating personal triumphs. His 2029 looks a good deal less easy going with significant setbacks and upheavals.
Wes Moore is eloquent with loads of potential; I like him, but at most he’ll be VP to Newsom in 2029.
As Bernie Sanders reminded people, 95 members of the House of Representatives are part of their Progressive Caucus making them nearly 22 percent. Sanders & AOC far more authentic and sincere than most American politicians.
Andre,
How would an American Civil War even play out this time? The country is not so neatly divided as it was the last time Neptune was in Aries, conjunct the 1776 US IC.
Some sort of upheaval is coming for the US, for sure. But I don’t think it’s going to be a traditional war by any means.
@Clarence, just watch “Civil War”, a fictional movie about a civil war in the US based on many modern civil wars. It was deemed ludicrous just a year ago in portraying “Western Alliance” formed by California and Texas closing in to Washington DC held by a 3rd term populist President. But the most likely scenario I thought of maybe circa 2015 was that if a civil war is going to happen in the US, it will be a messy affair like this. You would have Military defections, States aligning, militia held areas. Tens of millions of displaced people.
I personally still don’t think it’s going to happen now, in 2 years, or even by 2029. I honestly think that the Trump Admin has to collapse the economy and take even a steeper authoritarian stance, disappearing Americans that are not “home grown” to make this happen. But also, I am not as pessimistic about most Americans being willing to stop the buck before it goes to that as I was about Russians ever getting it.
Uranus in Gemini has brought existential war to the US three times. This time, we have a Sun-Uranus President who is an impulsive authoritarian. What could go wrong?
It is not only a birthday AOC shares with Margaret Thatcher. They both have Sun, Mercury and Mars in Libra and Venus in Sagittarius. Thatcher has her fire Moon in Leo close to her MC and AOC has her fire Moon in Aries close to the IC. Thatcher has her Jupiter in Capricorn and AOC has her Jupiter in the opposite sign of Cancer. Thatcher has her North Node in Leo and AOC has her North Node in Aquarius. They are like mirror images of each other. I think AOC will go to the top of US politics eventually.
Another thing that AOC may share with Margaret Thatcher is that both of them can be said to be deeply polarising.
My parents, especially my mother, were great fans of Margaret Thatcher (and of Ayn Rand). But let’s just say that like Angela Merkle, Thatcher’s legacy has not be an unblemished success.
For non-Brits, when Thatcher died, people who opposed her worldview sent the song “Ding dong, the Witch is dead” (from The Wizard of Oz) rocketing to the top of the music charts in the week she died and was buried in. From memory, the BBC refused to play that song.
A very abrasive Scottish comedian had joked (given the £8 million cost of her state funeral) that that would pay for a shovel for each person in Scotlad, who would dig a hole so deep for her that they could hand her over to Satan personally.
So, as can be seen, a very divisive legacy. And I suspect that AOC will be equally divisive.
As an aside, are there any astrological parallels between Thatcher and Trump, given that he is also equally divisive, if not more (though a wag on Twitter called him the Great Unifier; he’s united the rest of the world against the US).
When Thatcher came to power, inflation was out of control and unemployment was getting out of control. When she was ousted unemployment was out of control and inflation was getting out of control.
@Patritius
Not a lot of change then.
AOC interestingly shares a birthday (not a date of birth) with Margaret Thatcher. No doubt she has a powerful future ahead, but that Saturn/Neptune conjunction isn’t going to be a lot of fun for her or her generational cohort, as you point out.
In terms of protest, a demonstration of 36,000 is pretty small potatoes in a city the size of of Los Angeles, which has 3.8 million people within its municipal boundaries and 14 million in the metro area.
I’ve been looking at the composite chart of DJT and the Sibley U.S. chart, which I believe was vindicated by 9/11, for some guidance on future trends in the U.S. This composite, with a packed 10th house of Cancer planets opposed by Moon in Capricorn at the IC, saw a lot of activity around the assassination attempt last summer. I encourage my fellow astrologers to take a look. Re DJT’s birth time, I used the one on Astrodienst.
Politics aside, one of the things I find interesting about the DJT/Sibley composite chart is the unpredictable Uranus in the composite eighth house of shared resources, which I view broadly. It could reflect the large-scale disruptions in employment and the supply chain that marked the last Trump administration. This upheaval was followed by government largesse, supposedly to keep the economy afloat. A Uranian ride to be sure!
After leaving coal in your stocking (or cutting it down from the fireplace altogether), this father figure wants you to beg him for a Christmas present so he can play Santa Claus. Remember how the checks to American taxpayers carried not the signature of the Treasury Secretary or some anonymous bureaucrat, but that of Donald Trump himself.
I use a Scorpio ASC for the US chart. It puts DJT’s natal Sun-Uranus conjunction in the US 8th house. Ditto Xi Jinping’s Sun.
@Monica: “… a demonstration of 36,000 is pretty small potatoes…”
Agreed. But every small protest becomes larger, until it is too large to ignore.
At the moment, did anyone expect crowds the size that descended upon DC during the Vietnam War? T would never sit still for something that overt.
Apologies for the political-flavored reply. And certainly not a harpoon or a flame letter.
@Monica, they filled a stadium in LA; it wasn’t an open-air event that welcomed all comers.
They also attracted crowds of 20,000 in Salt Lake City and 13,000 in Idaho, both deep red states. Something is happening. People are waking up.
My city of San Diego, a city not prone to protests (people are more focused on going to the beach or surfing), attracted at least 20,000, and possibly over 40,000, to the streets on April 5th, with four other smaller protests around the county.
It was an open air event not in a Stadium. It was at Grand Park which is in front of city hall. The park is used for giant celebrations-New Years, 4th of July & has hosted many political events like this one and gatherings of the city’s teachers Union during strikes.
I think these crowds will grow as Trump’s administration becomes increasingly extreme and his policies impoverish more citizens, this is just the beginning.
Monica, don’t discount these numbers. 300 or even 1000 to 2000 wouldn’t be especially noteworthy, but 36,000 is huge for any kind of political rally in the US, particularly during a non-election year. These numbers are indeed likely to only grow.
I’m a little surprised that Trump et al have not yet begun to place pressure on the pair, as would happen in some of the more totalitarian regimes. Or completely wipe them off the map. it’s one thing to lean on “loud mouths”, as what occured with Ross Perdue, and then feel entitled to whisk off citizens to El Salvador prisons.
Rougher times are a-comin’ !
who is ross perdue?
Ross Perot
correct!
I had Perdue on the brain…
I will defer to you, Marjorie, since you were one of the few astrologers who got it right at the last election in the US. However, at a time when that country becomes a lawless state and the house of the governor of Pennsylania is burned down, and in the dark light of the tragic astrology in coming years, I am not convinced there will be presidential elections in 2028. It could be upbeat for AOC if she is one of the leaders of the resistance in a civil war. I pray you are right once more. Hopefully, you are not undesrestimating the awful times to come.
