Keir Starmer – the devil is in the detail ++ possible Capricorn Ascendant

The enigma that is Keir Starmer should be explainable from his astrology except that sadly his birth time is missing which cuts out some useful information. Houses do put a chart and personality in context since, for example, an 8th house Leo Sun will be very different to a 5th house Leo Sun.  The 8th house individua; will struggle to let its exuberance and entertaining qualities shine out. Midpoints to a degree can add detail where houses are missing or where mystifying traits are on show that are not easily seen from the surface chart itself.

After this week’s resounding debacle, varied descriptions of Starmer have appeared from those who have studied him close at hand.

He is: “A lawyer, a technocrat, a manager, but not – a storyteller.”

“I spent six weeks trailing after Keir Starmer and the man I saw felt both hidden and remarkably open often naively so – a man recognisable to so many and yet so far removed that he can seem coldly distant.”

“After a year studying Starmer, I can tell you that he is at once a very kind man and a ruthless one.”

He does have glaring blindspots – cutting winter fuel payments etc just as his acceptance of tens of thousands in free clothes surfaced. His refusal to admit he or his government are in a hole at all, pointing to their achievements and seemingly surprised  that anyone else might not agree. This leads to accusations of being disconnected – from his own party and the electorate. And there is strong evidence of his cowardice/timidity/reluctance to face down opposition to his plans.

Tom Baldwin, his biographer, said on the upside that his style is well suited to winning trust among international leaders. “He doesn’t do big speeches setting out grand visions for world peace. The reason he works on the international stage is that he comes up with ideas to make difficult situations better. I don’t recognise him as an insurgent disrupter. He is a nuanced, pragmatic, patriotic politician, seeking better outcomes. He’s not interested in some kind of ‘Starmerism’.”

Where does his chart reflect all of the above?

A Water Grand Trine of Mars in Cancer trine Jupiter in Pisces trine Neptune in Scorpio – self-protective emotionally with an inner, private world, sensitive, impressionable, easily overwhelmed, escapist, vulnerable, self-contained, disconnected, hard to get to know. Lives in his own bubble.

Formed into a Kite by Jupiter opposition Pluto and Uranus, making them the driving planets. Jupiter opposition Pluto may initially give a misleading appearance of strength since it breeds confidence and a tendency to assume the individual is not bound by the same rules as others. It can be autocratic though that does not appear to be so in his case but it may lead to a tendency to ignore realities that are obvious to others. Jupiter opposition Uranus – ‘characterizing this aspect is a soap bubble that bursts with the slightest pinprick. Promises more than can deliver (for example on cutting back on immigration).

He also had his Jupiter conjunct Chiron which can lead to messianic tendencies, certainly over optimism, an inner sense of having been specially chosen which added to Virgo’s tendency to be self-righteous could add up to an inability to listen to feedback or to learn from the circumstances around him.

He also has a cool, intellectual Saturn in Aquarius opposition North Node in Leo square Neptune in Scorpio – which would lessen his ability to be decisive, since a focal point Neptune tends to slip, slither and duck when an outright confrontation flares up.

I had a quick skip down Astrotheme’s useful Search Tool by Astrological Aspects. What was noticeable was that Jupiter in Pisces opposition Pluto did not throw up any notables other than football coach Jose Mourinho. Whereas Jupiter in other signs (Capricorn, Aries or Aquarius) opposition Pluto did seem to bring higher achievers. Jupiter in Pisces tends to be compassionate rather than anything else.

On midpoints Starmer has his Pluto conjunct his Mars/Neptune midpoint about which Ebertin cheerfully says: “The tendency to cause damage to others brutally or to suffer likewise. And his Mars conjunct Uranus/Neptune = misdirected energy.

I am hopeless on second guessing Ascendants. But for anyone else who wants to try.

A dull appearance and enigmatic personality might suggest Sun Pluto Virgo on the Ascendant (6am) but that puts nothing in the legal and international 9th so seems unlikely.

Saturn in Aquarius in his 1st with a late Capricorn or Saturn Aquarius Ascendant (6pm) puts his Moon, Venus in Libra and focal point Neptune in his 9th with an 8th house Sun Pluto Uranus which could be plausible, with a hard-working Mars in the 6th. That has a late Scorpio Midheaven catching the upending tr Uranus opposition at the moment. Have added above but is only a guess.

The devil is in the detail.

  1. I dunno about Sagittarius… These people have an athletic build, sunny and enthusiastic disposition, big teeth and smile (which is why Sagittarius as an ascendant for America works for many – all traits Americans are known for)… I’m not sure I find these features in him.

  2. Interesting about the upcoming solar eclipse. It will be the last of the current series of Saros 154 eclipse in Virgo. The first occurred on 31 August 1989 just before the Fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the Warsaw Pact. It occurred at 7 degrees 41 minutes very close to Starmer’s Sun/Pluto. I have not got exact details of his career but it was about 1989 that Starmer was giving his first public press interviews when he was working as a barrister for Liberty. The next Saros 154 eclipse occurred on 28 October 2007 which was the year Starmer got married and just before he became DPP in 2008.

    • Next year in that 22:05 chart his secondary-progressed Moon goes into his 11th house, politics, and brings change.

And, wow: just saw it yesterday that Keir natally has Mercury square Mars. That’s someone who is angry in words, when speaking, can be aggressive and yelling when doing so. Also could mean he should be careful in traffic (Mercury) and might have scratched his car, at least in youth (Mercury). Transit Jupiter is affecting that square.

  3. Important to note…..Judaism is a religion and cultural identity whereas Zionism is fundamentally a political ideology. Many Jews are zionists however not all Jews would want to identify with zionism.

    • Yes,Anne.
An article by Israeli Yoav Litviv,The Zionist Fallacy,is an excellent explanation of Zionism racism-distinct from Jewishness:
‘ Zionism is a modern movement, which gained traction among a minority of secular Jews only in the late 19th century in response to Europe’s rising anti-Semitism and romantic nationalism.
Early Zionists syncretised many aspects of European fascism, white supremacy, colonialism and messianic Evangelism and had a long and sordid history of cooperating with anti-Semites, imperialists and fascists in order to promote exclusivist and expansionist agendas.”
It would be interesting to know the astrology of the birth of Zionism.

  4. The issue with Taurus rising is that it would give Starmer a 5th house Sun Pluto Uranus, which doesn’t seem to resonate?
I am not sure if his Sun is below the horizon unless it is conjunct the IC angle. In terms of appearance, when he was younger he had a very penetrating gaze and a defined facial bone structure – quite striking, really. From a quick search, Keir is a Gaelic name which means ‘dark’ or ‘black’. Not much help as he is a Sun Pluto. His middle name Rodney means “hroda Island” in Old English. Hroda is from the Germanic hrod, meaning “fame”.

  5. I think the key to Keir is that he is a vocational lawyer – particularly in human rights. That’s what he’s interested in, where his heart lies and where he is at his best. I can’t really see why he’s in politics at all except that he may have thought that strategy and clear thinking could solve all the UK’s problems. I spent a day with him in Strasbourg about 25 years ago because he was assisting the QC in a case brought by a lawyer friend of mine. According to my friend, he already had a reputation for being sound, very hard working and possessing integrity amongst other lawyers in the same field. Socially, as we celebrated a win early in the day and continued carousing for many hours, he was fun, funny, friendly, gossipy and good natured. I think after being Attorney-General, he may have taken a mysterious wrong turn…

  6. We get our appearance from our rising sign. Starmer is not very tall and retained his youthful looks well into middle age. A Gemini rising fits both these attributes. If his Ascendent was Gemini he could have an Air Grand Trine with his Ascendant, Saturn and Gemini’s ruler Mercury. Mercury also rule his Sun/Pluto in Virgo – which could be in his 4th house. His natal Mercury is trine Saturn making him meticulous and methodical. Pluto in the fourth could fit in with a 6th house Scorpio also with his Neptune there, possible preventing awareness in work? Also a combination of Virgo/Earth/Neptune/Water and Mercury both Air/Earth can give a bogged down approach. Lending to not seeing the wood for the trees. Hence a TV pinched under his nose? Without a time, it is trial by error. Although, his appearance can help.

    • I don’t know much about Keir Starmer which conversely can help with Ascendant guessing. My overall impression from America is he or his 10h is mutable. I only know about him in context of his career. I think of Asc first as a skier on a ski slope. The skier sees where he wants to go at the bottom, does he/she keep their end goal in mind and run over a small child sticking to their course…fixed, make corrections to avoid the child but then gets back on track to the goal…cardinal, or run off missing the child last minute and end up at the bottom nowhere near the original goal…mutable.

I think he indicated he missed this last crises by saying he was distracted but then responded by changing course and off the end goal. Seems very mutable.

  7. So, for example, the chart for 2 September 1962, Southwark, UK, at 22:05 for transits on 5 July 2024 at 12:19 (prime-ministership begins) has Uranus at 25° Taurus and ascendant at 26° of that sign. It has transit Moon just passing his natal Mars. Moon rules neighbours and home (3rd house and 4th house) and Moon is change: change in neighbours and of address. That chart also has transit Mercury, ruler of the 2nd house, income, opposite natal Saturn, ruler of the MC. Transit Moon also trined natal Jupiter, ruler of the 8th house, money of other people.

On 5 July this year he has transit Uranus and Venus (though Uranus kind of not yet, having at that point not yet entered Gemini) square natal Uranus, ruler of the 11th house, politics. Money (Venus) causes clashes (square) in politics (11th house).

Transit Jupiter, ruler of the money of other people, squares natal Mercury, ruler of his house of income.

Mars has just passed conjunction to natal Pluto. Energy (Mars) into manipulation and dealings in the dark (Pluto). Mars co-ruler of 12th, intercepted Aries in the 12th house, again secret and isolated places. Pluto and Mars are also planets of sex.

Secondary-progressed Moon is passing over his natal Saturn and 10th house, of social standing and aspirations. Secondary-progressed Mars is in a partile square to natal Neptune.

SA Saturn is square natal Mars. That’s a lot of Saturn (frustration, stops, delays) and Mars (anger, energy, sexuality) stuff.

Also SA Mercury is square natal Jupiter.

I almost think this chart might be right, LOL.

    • 26° Taurus is, of course, the spot of Algol.

If I am seeing right, then according to Gnarly’s data, transit Pluto would cause a yod onto natal ascendant with natal Venus when he was married.

  8. His wife of 17 years who works for the NHS was born acc to one report in June of 1973 making her Gemini/Cancer. With an Air Water chart

  9. Has anybody mentioned his Mars (in Cancer) – how he spends his energy? Also a planet of anger and irritability. So in Cancer that would make him capricious, tetchy, cranky, volatile, which I think he is.

  10. His behind-the-scenes wife Victoria who is a Zionist Jew are increasingly commented on. I’d like to know more about her influence and his relationship with her. Her birth date isn’t made public, only the year she was born!

    • It’s a real shame we don’t have a birth date for her. She is the opposite of him – wears bright colours, smiley and happy. It really seems like they might be plugging into each others charts in some way. My gut feel looking at her is she’s Pisces or Gemini Sun.

    • Robyn Conway, perhaps you did not mean it but your comment does seem a bit odd, even racist. What has his wife’s religion got to do with anything ?

      • Generally,Zionists are racist when observing the Palestinian experience-but not exclusively.
Starmer comes across as a hyper- Bureaucrat. An empty vessel-to be filled with policies by elites-not in the interests of the British citizen.
My bet is on Capricorn or Virgo rising.

  11. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is a late Virgo rising – maybe early Libra. Pushes his Sun-Pluto into the 12th and putting his Libra indecisiveness on the Ascendant in the 1st. It would also move his Libra moon into trine with Aquarius Saturn hence his lack of humour and his fear.

Saturn would end up somewhere like the 4th or 5th – it has been stated one of his big concerns about becoming PM would be how it affects his children. That’s unusual for anyone seeking a top level job – so they seem like a responsibility for him

His natal chart has few planets from Sag to Gemini other than Saturn and Jupiter – so a Virgo/Libra rising would give him a Pisces Jupiter / Aries on the Descendant / Taurus 8th – which would be another explainer towards his lack of listening ability.

I guess something like Cancer would end up on the MC which fits with his timidity to reveal who he is and with his Mars might explain why he wants to achieve and lead but also why he says he is competitive yet it never comes across. Finally with Leo on 11th that could explain his rich friends.

    • Re your last para GD, recently some of his ex legal colleagues were asked to assess him as a lawyer. Sorry can’t find the reference, but they all said that when it came to a new or tricky bit of law in court, he always dodged it. Timidity? Fear? Who knows, but it seems to fit his rigid and closed down defensive personality.

      • That seems easily explained by both his Virgo and Libra planets. By its nature, Virgo is refining the gambling that took place with Leo to create good processes. In fact, that’s true of all the earth signs – they don’t take risks but they refine what was discovered by fire. But also, in my experience, some Librans will take the easy tasks so that it doesn’t embarrass itself by failing – when it progresses into Scorpio it digs in.

The problem with this rectification guessing is that there are so many parts of Starmer’s personality which can be explained as easily by his planets, as much as by potential Asc/MC/house placements. For example, if you want to go Scorpio Asc – well his Sun-Pluto would probably cover that too

    • The other thing which would support the Virgo/Libra rising is that it would put Neptune into his 2nd house and he really does seem confused by what his values are. While accepting VF’s point about Virgo delicate features, as a downside, it would mean transiting Neptune has been in his 7th house for a while now and might explain why he is listening to people like Morgan McSweeney who seem to be leading down the wrong path.

Just to say this is only my opinion, I’m not tied to it – I think it’s a case of looking at up and downsides to try and figure out which is most likely.

  12. Thoughts about Mr Starmer’s rising sign.
My problem with Capricorn rising is that such people have a reputation for a good sense of humour, and there is zero evidence of that with KS.

Aquarius rising, another popular possibility, is not always tall and thin like Abraham Lincoln and Barak Obama, they can also be short – Kirk Douglas, medium – George Clooney, and stocky – William Shatner, but what they do have in common is a certain charisma, which KS seems to lack.

I favour Taurus rising, which might explain his physical ‘blocky’ quality + the football + it puts Jupiter in the 11th house for his wealthy generous friends + the Moon and Venus in the 6th signifying all those charming females he’s chosen to work alongside + Saturn in the 10th for his ambition and managerial style of leadership, undermined as it is by a confusing Neptune square from the 7th.

    (Whole signs)

    • I was thinking of writing the same: Taurus! It made sense because of the stocky body + opposite of Scorpio (ties into that sign). Maybe because of Neptune on the descendant then gives off vague and uncatchable vibes to the other side, other people (7th house).

      • Taurus rising would also put Capricorn over his 9th house (lawyers), the ruler of which, Saturn, is in his 10th (vocation, career etc).
The one area KS seems to have had some real success in has been diplomacy, flying here and there being friendly and co-operative, particularly with Donald Trump, no mean feat. Sorry to bang on, but again with Taurus rising that would put his Sun/Pluto in his 5th house (diplomats and ambassadors), ie, ‘where he shines’. Might make a better Foreign Secretary than PM.

        • I’m a Taurus ascendant and agree about the big-bodied stockiness. But unlike Starmer, it is muscular not flab. That said, he might have his Neptune in 6th making him blase about his health. Certainly Pluto in 5th would make him competitive – which he says he is.

On the downside, it would put Scorpio on his Descendant in which case, like me, he will have spent most of his life with the outer planets transiting his 7th-8th houses. He doesn’t seem like he has the depth to have had Uranus/Neptune/Pluto transiting his relationship houses for 30+yrs. And he’s not a good listener.

As for success in foreign affairs – I recall the one time I thought Boris Johnson shone as PM was at the outbreak of the Ukraine war. I put it down to the fact he could say what he really wanted to say without it directly mattering to his voters. I suspect it may be the same with Starmer – much easier to talk about foreign affairs than whether you’re going to increase taxes.

          • Interesting. I’m not sure everyone who has experienced the heavy planets transiting their 7th and 8th houses acquires depth though, some will some won’t I would have thought, but you could be right.

    • Yes, I too think Taurus rising too. He has a thick-set look and a solid, fairly bull-like neck. Not Virgo – Virgo rising tend to have delicate features – he’s too masculine-looking and robust for that. A good head of hair which male Taureans seem to carry into middle age and beyond. It may have been a Uranus transit to his ascendant and possibly at the same time, his Midheaven as he was elected to lead the Labour Party during Uranus’s transit through the sign.

His dithering is likely due to his Moon and Venus in Libra, which wants to be liked by everyone. One thing we Librans need to learn is that we can’t be liked by everybody, because by oscillating and trying to please we can come across as weak and lacking integrity. He perhaps would have benefited from some personal planets in Scorpio like Margaret Thatcher, which gives endurance and the drive to keep going, but he only has his generational Neptune there.

      • One thing about him – he has musical ability and learned to play several instruments as a teenager. He was a student at the Guildhall School of Music in London. He was also quite strikingly good-looking as a young man, as Taurus rising often are.

        • Thanks for the additional insights, how interesting about his musical ability. Taurus does seem to tie in quite well.

  13. Starmer has to limp through another couple of weeks of pain before the Parliamentary recess on 22 July when he can send his troublesome MPs back to their constituency. The House of Commons return on 1st September 2025 which just happens to be Starmer’s Solar Return. The chart has Uranus at 1 degree 27 minutes Gemini which is exactly square the Prime Ministers natal Uranus. Starmer’s Solar Return has Venus opposite his natal Saturn and Mars conjunct his natal Moon. None of these placements looks particularly easy so there is a possibility of continuing strained relationships and emotional struggles. Starmer’s first challenge in the Autumn looks to be the Labour Party Conference in Liverpool from the 28 September to 1st October 2025. I think the next session of Parliament could be make or break for him.

    • Hugh – thanks for highlighting September. It looks like a turning point month, with two mutable eclipses, and tr Jupiter square Mars in Libra crossing the UK 1801 Moon, suggesting high tides for collective emotions/anger?

The eclipses belong to the Saros Series 9 New South. Brady writes: “This Saros Series appears to be concerned with the bringing to the surface of long term worries about loved ones, health or issues to do with paperwork or communication…..Any news will have a sense of destiny or fatedness about it.” The Lunar Eclipse is 15 Pisces, the Solar 29 Virgo. The Solar opposes Saturn and Neptune, which might signal crumbling foundations.

      The eclipses hit:
UK 1066: Saturn 16 Virgo, Nodes 19 Virgo
Moon 29 Pisces square Uranus 28 Sagittarius
      UK 1707: Moon 28 Virgo, 8th house
UK 1801: Mercury 17 Sagittarius, Uranus 1 Libra
Labour Government 2024: Neptune 29 Pisces

I think whatever is set in motion in the early autumn may peak early next year as we approach the Solar Eclipse in Aquarius, square Uranus in Taurus.

  14. Just a thought towards rectification … he got married on 6 May 2007. At that date – Jupiter 18Sag, Saturn 18Leo, Uranus 17Pis, Neptune 22Aqua, Pluto 28Sag.

Unless I’m mistaken – none of those transiting planets are close to aspecting any of his natal planets. Maybe his Libra moon but that would only pick up a trine or sextile which doesn’t seem strong enough for a wedding.

It suggests his angles must have on or around one of these degrees whether it was MC for change of status, or Asc/Desc for change of relationships.

(NB He became Director of Public Prosecutiosn a year later in July 2008 – I guess that is covered by transiting Saturn in Virgo which went across his Sun-Pluto a month later – so that doesn’t help)

    • Very interesting Gnarly Dude, I ‘felt’ his asc would be in Libra at approx 19 degrees- this would put his Neptune and Pluto in his 5th house, Venus in Libra would be sq the MC at 25 degrees, also places Neptune in the first house in Scorpio. This is all I have time to evaluate tonight, but with Mercury and the Moon in the 12th would explain his shall-we shan’t we, sit on fence until pushed, also Venus in the first vain about his clothes and looks etc. etc.

    • This would tie in with Saros 154 eclipse on 11 September 2007 which was at 18 Virgo which would trigger those 17/18 degree planets listed.

  15. In my experience, prime ministers exude either charisma or reassurance as a safe pair of hands. Of course they may not be particularly good at their job. Either quality doesn’t guarantee that. But nobody that I have met, actually likes Starmer, not Labour supporters and certainly not his ministers. What does Starmer exude? The feeling that he would prefer to be anywhere else, than where he is at the moment. At last, something that we can all agree on.

  16. This Thursday’s full moon is in Cancer at circa 18.50 degrees – this may correlate with the 6.00pm example Chart that Marjorie has put above. It will be interesting to see if anything comes to light, with either the above time or highlighting something else? Uranus enters Gemini tomorrow which will start to resonate with the Labour Party. As Uranus rules the 11 th house – the house of groups. Given that last week there was a sudden announcement about a Labour splinter party, it looks like it is ready to announce changes, which will gather momentum as the Labour Party has Pluto in Gemini. Uranus will also square its Sun in 2027 . Although rumblings will start when Uranus enters Gemini as it will be in a wide square immediately.

  17. This might sound wacky, but Keir has always reminded me of Imelda Staunton. It is the eyes, the look those bright, cold, piercing blue eyes give. So I briefly checked if there was a chart with time for Imelda, and, of course, there isn’t. I noticed she also has Neptune in Scorpio, so I figured that piercing, penetrating, scary look could be Scorpio, and since she is an actress (Neptune), that could be Neptune on the ascendant, so early Scorpio rising.

Keir could thus, I thought, have that same rising, but later, with Neptune on the ascendant. That Neptune would give him also the air of being uncatchable, undefinable, you cannot fully grasp him, he seems to be so smoke-screenish.

Dunno if it would fit with the rest of planetary positions per houses.

Weird or not, just as I am writing this, I am again reminded that today Moon is in Scorpio, and is in an applying opposition to Uranus at the moment.

  18. Starmer is a bit of an enigma. His Moon, Mercury and Venus in Libra should mean he seeks harmony, balance, fairness all mediated by negotiation and mutual consent. Instead, he seems to have alienated just about everyone. Of course the problem may not just be Starmer but rather his Parliamentary party and the rest of the population who are demanding the impossible from him.

The UK 1801 chart with its Moon in the 10th House in Cancer trine Neptune in 2nd House in Scorpio suggests a people who want the government to provide them with safety and security but who may have totally unrealistic attitudes as to how it is all going to be financed. I think history tends to suggest that Britain as a nation performs best when directly challenged by its leaders (Churchill, Attlee, Thatcher) and that PMs who try too hard to be consensual (Heath, Starmer etc) often find their willingness to negotiate and compromise is seen as weakness. One of the unfortunate lessons of politics is that is often better to be hated and feared than despised and mocked.

  19. This is such a nuanced, objective and careful analysis- thank you! Although Aquarians tend to be “wispy” ( thanks El Aznar!) , he seems Saturnine to me. I think your Saturn position is where you find your fear and limitations, and perhaps in his case it is a debilitating lack of self belief or deep insecurity, well and truly disguised by his sun/pluto.

    • I agree that he seems quite saturnine. Starmer had plenty of time to prepare to be PM and think through what he would do yet he doesn’t seem prepared at all. I recall Rayner saying he didn’t work long hours before being voted in and that he would go home rather than stay and mingle with other politicians. There is also his declared intention once voted in as PM to spend Friday nights with his family which is a lovely idea but perhaps not terribly realistic for a PM. Could this be a Saturn lesson- if you don’t put in the hard work beforehand expect consequences.
I also wonder what will happen when Pluto in Aquarius aspects his Saturn in Aquarius. That’s normally quite tough.
A good write up Marjorie – Keir is indeed quite an enigma and sadly we will never know for sure what his ascendant is.

  20. “with a hard-working Mars in the 6th” – yes, I agree this seems right. Starmer’s Mars is a good clue since he loves to watch football, and also regularly plays amateur football with his friends. They’ve said he is ‘hard’ and tough when playing – Mars going into battle? Also an outlet for mental and emotional tensions? A sixth house Mars might also come into conflict with colleagues? He’s found bringing his MPs with him on certain policy decisions very hard, and has seemingly simply expected them to follow his directions. Mars in the 6th might also suggest fighting at work, which fits with his legal career – albeit on an intellectual and professional level, ‘fighting’ or going into battle with his knowledge of the law acting as both armour and weapon?

As Andre writes, too, an Aquarian ascendant with Saturn in the first feels right. Oddly, Margaret Thatcher had Saturn conjunct her ascendant, in Scorpio.

  21. I think it is on Skyscript message board that I saw posting a chart with 18:20 time. The serious, unsmiling appearance would certainly match a prominent Saturn – compare to a much, much more pronounced, and some say thus certainly angular, Saturn in the case of Dominic Cummings – but Aquarius rising people are usually slender, wispy, tall, unusual in appearance and unconventional in dress. Keir is kind of stodgy and massive, not really thin and tall-looking. Dunno.

    • You’re right. Could be late Capricorn rising. All his planets in the 8th would make him enjoy working with the new head of MI6 he has probably personally chosen. He is likely more comfortable with defence, security and foreign affairs than domestic politics, which could be his undoing.

      • Could be. But at the same time, one of the typical traits of a Capricorn rising is an aquiline nose (e.g. Emmanuel Macron), just as you could say a key trait of a Leo rising is prominent mane. Keir doesn’t have it, though that doesn’t mean he is not Capricorn rising.

    • I don’t think Aquarius fits either. There is zero ideology. Based on his public utterances he doesn’t come as interested in intellectual debate, despite excelling in his legal career. He is inherently conservative and cautious. I thought Scorpio, which would place Moon in the 12th – his mother was a nurse and suffered from health problems. But Capricorn with the acute awareness of hierarchy and the ambition to reach the summit fits well.

    • Agree. Aqua rising generally confers a certain aloof glamour that he distinctly lacks.

I get more of a plodding taurus feeling about him.

  22. An Aquarius Ascendant looks right to me. He is basically a humanitarian with Saturn in the 1st’s plodding and practical approach. Sun sextile Mars in the 6th and Neptune makes him both efficient and idealistic. The Sun in the 8th in unassuming Virgo conjunct Pluto and Uranus gives him unknowable depth. The opposition to Jupiter makes him well-meaning but misunderstood. There will be a silver lining to his mistakes. The Water Grand Trine, combined with Uranus-Pluto in the 8th, makes him highly intuitive but secretive. He is emotionally vulnerable but spends a great deal of energy to hide it. Sun-Pluto-Uranus willl make him inevitably brutal and unpredictable at critical times to protect himself. He may not survive the repeated Uranus oppositions to his midheaven over the coming year that may topple him unexpectedly. Uranus on the IC already brought him the arson attack on his family property. He is seen as a dangerous adversary by Putin. All in all, he usually has good judgment, but not awlays because Pluto has blind spots, and he may not always be able to follow his better instincts. A good man and prime minister, but not a great one.
