Jennifer Aniston – healing wounds from the past

Jennifer Aniston is gearing up to play a ‘monster of a stage mother’ in the film version of Jeanette McCurdy’s best selling memoir I’m Glad My Mom Died which details her experiences as a child actress living with a ‘narcissistic’ parent. It will be all the more poignant for Aniston since she had a 15 year estrangement from her own model/actress mother Nancy Dow with whom she had a turbulent relationship. She was left with deep insecurities after her mother called her ‘fat, ugly and too Greek-looking’ as a child and constantly criticised her weight. A friend latterly said Nancy was jealous of Jennifer’s success since her own career never flourished and she remained unrepentant about writing a memoir about Jennifer which was seen as a betrayal. They did spend some time together before her death in 2016.

Jennifer Aniston, born 11 February 1969 10.22 pm Los Angeles, has a tricky chart with an Aquarius Sun on the cusp of her 5th house square a showbizzy Mars Neptune in Scorpio. She has Saturn in Aries on the cusp of her 7th house on the focal point of a yod inconjunct Pluto sextile Mars Neptune which is a tough yod to handle well. Her Sagittarius Moon, ruler of her 10th, is trine Saturn and square Pluto giving her a cold and possessive mother.

Intriguingly her need-to-be-independent Aries North Node in the working 6th is conjunct Chiron – and highlighted at the moment by tr Saturn Neptune moving into Aries. This position of Chiron will bring a focus on issues of suffering and healing into the public arena.

Her mother Nancy Dow, 22 July 1936, had a fearsome Cancer Sun, Mercury, Pluto (and Mars) conjunct Jennifer’s Midheaven and inconjunct Jennifer’s Sun so she would be driven to control her daughter – and put her down to feed her narcissism. Nancy’s Uranus was also in Jennifer’s 7th creating a divisive atmosphere. Not that Jennifer’s actor father, John Aniston, 24 July 1933, was exactly a great help either with his Pluto on her Midheaven and his Uranus on her Descendant but on balance was not quite as damaging as her mother.

  1. I was trying find the birth date of her new love interest, it seems, a hypnotist and coach Jim Curtis, she has been seen on a holiday on Mallorca. But nothing yet. Interesting that I mentioned manifestation and her interests and this news popped up about the two of them together.

  2. In the mother’s chart, the dispositor of her Pluto/Mercury/Sun/Cancer is the Moon. It’s conjunct Neptune/12th and in Virgo. Her Mercury/Moon is in mutual reception and strengthened. W/Neptune sitting on her Moon, however, the necessary analysis of how her thoughts and words interplayed w/ her own emotional state would be really confused by Neptune. She prob. would have had great difficulty looking clearly at her emotions and how they tripped her up.

    • Nancy,

Do you have any advice on methods, books, and how-tos on how can one learn to do dispositorship interpretations?

      • Rulers of horoscope by Alan Oken. I had been reading the book last month. I am sure there are many other books out there but it does give a basic understanding. Though I do also struggle with the book because of new terminologyto me that need some getting use to. Add to it my brain is still foggy, hard to concentrate recently. The book has clear organization of the topics by ascendent, then house rulers.

  3. Tentative but interesting: Jennifer has her IC, roots, home, in Capricorn, and Greece is often seen as a Capricornian nation.

  4. Interesting enough Jennifer Aniston has her Aquarian Sun in 4th house of family and dad, which means she has inherited more from her dad than mom. No wonder she is an actor as well as her dad, currently she has her Saturn return until 2028,which might be a bumpy road until then, after which she has a great career success for many years. The moon in Sagittarius in her second house means wealth and more money, she would have been more wealthy if her lucky Jupiter/Uranus was placed in her second house, sadly it is in her 12 house. Her Venus in the sixth house close to Saturn is not well placed, not surprising with her many breakups in relationships and failed marriages, though on positive side it means she will always be busy and find work easily.

    • Tshele, Jupiter/Uranus in the second house is not certainty of more financial wealth, I am born 5 weeks later, during the 1969 March NM eclipse, with Jup/Ura in the second house, Wealth/Abundance/Resources & values are displayed in many fields anyway, secretly in the 12th behind closed doors and openly in the 2nd

      • Yes I agree, astrology is more like mathematics, there are no there fore’s like when x = y then you conclude y = x. It’s one of the reasons I fell in love with it, I am Uranian and fascinated by the extraordinary like science and technology. What I meant to say is that usually when someone has Jupiter/Uranus conjunction, it is usually a time when they accumulate good fortune, like winning lotteries or inheriting large sums of money. I know a lot of people who are very rich and don’t have that aspect of Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in the second house, it depends on aspects with other planets too.

  5. Two nice titbits about her, and I always did love her and loved her with Brad (so sad that didn’t work out, and I think Marjorie wrote about their astrological (in)compatibility – ouch!, I loved how they looked together [and lived back then in a magical Wallace Neff house in Holmby Hills and shared an interest in architecture]): she is a believer in manifesting and suffered from aerophobia (fear of flying; battled it, and I think successfully, with breathwork, meditations, and hypnosis). So glad she made it (in life).

  6. Marjorie,

Was it you, or the commentators here, that when we spoke of Stanley Johnson noticed a Sagittarius Moon in Rachel Johnson’s chart, and said such a Moon gives one the trait of brushing off and actively denying, consciously and subconsciously, and not accepting the negative sides of one’s parents?

Dunno how that would work for Jennifer, given the kind of relationship with her mother that she had.

    • Solaia was the one who mentioned the Sag Moon and their rose tinted glasses.

But recent years, my sibling and I had been acknowledging the bad habits of the mother and her effects on us. But at the end of the day I chose to honour her. I think honouring my parents should be a given. But it does not mean that I won’t ring fenced her to an extent to protect my my own sanity and not become a door mat daughter. My moon is in 7th house, so my nurturing came from outside, teachers when young (one don’t become a teacher’s pet and get nothing in return), my female bosses.

Marjorie had a post on Surie Cruise, someone commented on the moon.

      • Thank you, Callie!

It just dawned on me that maybe that Sagittarius Moon is a remnant of her foreign (Sagittarius) roots (Moon – (the) homeland).

        • Weird, Rachel Johnson’s middle name is Sabiha, which is Turkish, maybe of Arabic origins. She too is of foreign, well-documented descent.
