Blake Lively & Justin Baldoni – Virgo Scorpio clash

The fallout from the doomed domestic violence movie It Ends with Us rolls on with Blake Lively making accusations against her former co-star/director Justin Baldoni, filing a legal complaint claiming sexual harassment and making allegations of a coordinated PR effort to damage her reputation.

What is astro-intriguing are two coincidences.  One is that she was born 25 August 1987 5.07am Tarzana, California. That makes her a Sun Mars in Virgo conjunction, the same as Dorothy Parker, Peter Sellers and the wife of the Korean president. A synchronous month for Sun Mars in Virgos. Blake Lively does have a reputation for ‘mean girl behaviour.’ See previous post below.

More than that, her stellium in Virgo of Sun, Mars, Venus, Mercury, Moon = earthy, highly-strung, critical and hard-working – sits across from  Baldoni’s Scorpio stellium. He was born 24 January 1984 8.30pm Los Angeles and has Pluto, Moon, Mars, Saturn in Scorpio square an Aquarius Sun.

An overload of Virgo and the same of Scorpio might seem an uncomfortable combination given Virgo’s propensity, especially amongst the female of the species, to be self-sufficient. Scorpio needs intense closeness, almost enmeshment, which would put many Virgo’s need-space hackles on edge.  What makes it marginally odder here is that Blake Lively’s husband of 10 years Ryan Reynolds, 23 October 1976 4.30 am Canada, also has a stellium in Scorpio of Sun, Moon, Uranus, Mars like Baldoni in his 2nd house.

Baldoni seems a touch more full-on so he will take control to a different level than Reynolds whose Moon Uranus will give him an inclination at least some of the time to want space and freedom to suit himself. Baldoni may be a Sun Aquarius but his instincts and relationships with women will all be driven by his fiercely possessive, controlling Moon, Mars, Pluto in Scorpio. At some level he is deeply frightened of women so needs to keep them submissive – and a Sun Mars in Virgo is not a one to give way without an argument.

Her Pluto in Scorpio hooks into both. A karmic magnet.

Now that I look, Principal Photography on the movie started 5 May 2023 in NJ with a Scorpio Full Moon in place which seems fitting. The Scorpio Moon was close to the Scorpio South Node for an early morning start.

  1. Seeing Baldoni’s Scorpio Moon flanked by Pluto and Mars (!!!) along with a dutifully pore over Livelys legal filing is the most obvious point tipping the truth, in my opinion, in Lively’s favor. These are some of the harshest aspects one can have to such a sensitive feminine planet and has again in my opinion continually shown men with manipulative and abusive behavior towards women, his self professed porn addiction and objectification of his own wife and Lively likely just the tip of the iceberg. Pluto in Aquarius is right on time about to dismantle any facade of “male feminist ” he had as it traverses all his critical planets. Good for her and perhaps a chance at retribution for Amber Heard.

  2. Thank you Marjorie. Sorry to be a pain but I’d like to better understand a few things. Can you please explain what makes it an uncomfortable combination? Scorpio and Virgo are signs that make a sextile aspect and produce lots of Libra midpoints. And why would Moon/Uranus be a bit easier for Blake than an Aquarius Sun?

I find it interesting that her BML is very active on both men’s charts and BML is something that can go either way – love/hate, obsession, power struggles. Both men also have BML in aspect to hers – but RR’s trines her Virgo planets. There is some odd grand cross going on between them involving all 3 BML, her Pluto, and the Scorpio planets in both men’s charts.

    • I was wondering the same thing, Virgo–Scorpio sextile… Virgo is analytical, but then so is Scorpio, who likes to ponder the depths. And I think I’ve seen someone say people with an active eighth house are good shrink/astrologer clients. They just like to explore their behaviour, conscious, subconscious, and unconscious.

    • Just to add – Mars stationed retrograde on Blake’s BML and triggered that odd grand cross between them all (t-square with Baldini alone). He will feel the tables have turned on him. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

    • Hi I have amended the text and fleshed it out a bit. Some rules of thumb i.e. sextiles do work and some don’t depending on the nature of the sign.

      • Thanks for that Marjorie, I see what you mean. I don’t know about you, but certainly for me with Scorpio planets, while adjustments sometimes need to be made, it doesn’t have quite the same tension of a hard aspect and is usually easily resolved. Like a Virgo telling a Scorpio “Thank you, but I can look after myself”, or Virgo being a bit too “helpful” with a Scorpio who likes to keep their business to themselves. “Would you mind not doing that?”, “Sure, OK.” is usually how it goes in my experience. I wonder if the tension comes with the presence of Aquarius in the mix? I think usually there is an underlying understanding of each’s need for space in different ways, but it’s clearly gone very wrong here.

        • I tread lightly since I would hate to attract a law suit – but he has Moon Mars Pluto in Scorpio – and that suggests scary mother issues and a hugely negative view of women.

  3. If you read the two men’s charts, they may both have stellium in Scorpio, but Reynolds has his Sun conj his north Node (benign, but also telegraphing success), then Uranus and Mars, while Baldoni has his Moon (female influences) sandwiched between his Mars and his Pluto, which are not in stellium with any other planets. That says it all about who he is, these really stick out.

Also, that Baldoni has no oppositions in his chart says a lot, too–he doesn’t know how to compromise. That Lilith in Aquarius also detaches him emotionally from himself, next to his sun. Ironically, his North Node is in the 10th house of career, when it kinda looks like his career could be done.

  4. Oh thank you for doing this one, Marjorie. I was just reading the New York Times article on the lawsuit. If true, and it seems likely with all the subpoenaed emails, it’s really bad for Baldoni.
