For a good news story, how about the achievement of Gout Gout, the schoolboy sprinter who is faster than Usain Bolt was at his age. He just broke the world Under-20 years 200m sprint record, making him the fastest under-20 athlete in history.
Gout (actually pronounced Guot or Gwot but it was mistranslated by immigration officials) was born on 29 December 2007 in Ipswich, Queensland, Australia to parents of South Sudanese heritage. He just finished high school at the end of last year. From all accounts he was a bright student as well as a superb athlete. He is very articulate for a teenage boy!
He was noticed by Di Shepherd, an experienced track and field coach who spotted his talent at a young age. She continues to coach and guide his athletic progress. Several elite athletes (including Usain Bolt) have taken a keen interest in him and provide support and encouragement both privately and publicly. They are most concerned that he be allowed to grow at his own pace and not be burdened by heavy expectations.

I hope Magyar delivers on his promises and points Hungary in a better direction. I am a little cautious on this as Magyar is a former ally of Orban and has been described as a polarising figure. We wait and see.
@Susy, I’d say Hungarians just had enough. Magyar’s party wan not only urban voters, but also the heavily gerrymandeled for Fidesz single representative districts resoundingly. Now, since they seem to get a supermajority, they can redistrict.
Yes I agree that the Hungarians had had enough. The Hungarians I know said that it is about voting out Orban rather than voting for Magyar.
TISZA may even win a 2/3 super-majority, allowing it to amend the constitution. That is certainly unexpected.

Would you mind taking a look at Spain? Right-wing Israelis have been taking to social media to bash Spain and Sanchez for the past few days. Benjamin Netanyahu even made a veiled threat against Spain for not supporting Israel’s actions in Gaza, Iran, and Lebanon.
My paternal grandparents were from Spain (the Canary Islands and Andalusia, to be specific) and seeing all of these right-wing Trump / Netanyahu-supporting Israelis trashing my ancestral country really infuriates me.
I try to remind myself that it’s the Israeli Government that is the problem. However, I’m beginning to think it’s a societal problem in Israel. Many Israeli citizens have been brainwashed into thinking whatever actions they take are justified because they see themselves as the true “indigenous” people of the Levant.
I think the world is getting fed up with Israel’s antics. I know I certainly am.
For the record, in case anyone is wondering, I have partial Ashkenazi Jewish (maternal ancestry by way of Belarus) and Crypto-Sephardi Jewish (paternal side) ancestry and even though I was raised in Catholicism, I could be considered a Jew by Jewish Law….because of my genetic line.
Would love Marjorie’s take. CA is also experiencing its Pluto return, I think. I did some preliminary reads last year of Yee, Thurman and Villaraigosa. I think they were already floating Kamala’s name, too. Betty Yee came out in my prelim as the most connected to CA. She has our best interests in mind all day, every day. That said, Xavier Becerra is my former Rep. before redistricting moved me to Schiff’s district. (Both were wonderful.)He then was appointed CA AG when Kamala moved on to the Senate. He successfully litigated against Trump during that first term. Biden appointed gim HHS Secretary for no small reason: he co-wrote and was inegral in passing the Affordable Care Act. I’ve not see his chart but he has real credibility and experience.

The California gubernatorial race is shaping up to be a mess of epic proportions that seems will likely result in the unbelievable election of a MAGA governor resulting from Democrats locking themselves out of the jungle primary. A primary system they ironically created to lock out Republicans. Can you do a reading showing what lies ahead for the state?
@Burt — Californian here — yes, I agree the jungle primary here this year is a mess. However, despite the fact that two prominent Dem candidates have imploded — Katie Porter because of leaked videos showing her lambasting staff and a reporter, confirming long-running rumors of temperament issues, and, just in the last few days, Eric Swalwell because of apparently credible allegations of sexual assault or misbehaviour — there are plenty of other well-qualified Dems in the race.
In fact, that’s the problem, too many good candidates. Former California Attorney General and Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra hasn’t caught fire yet nor has former state Controller Betty Yee, both of whom have the administrative experience for the job. But there’s also billionaire Tom Steyer, who ran for president in 2020, and appears to be trying to buy the job (again)with massive personal campaign spending, and relative unknown moderate Mayor Matt Mahan of San Jose, a former tech entrepreneur who has the backing of Silicon Valley.
There’s still plenty of time for Dems to get serious and coalesce around one or two candidates to prevent a lockout from the gubernatorial election. Trump put his thumb on the scale in favor of (of course!) another former Fox News host Steve Hilton, making it more likely that Republicans will vote for him rather than the wacky Sheriff Chad Bianco of Riverside County, known chiefly for seizing ballots from the last statewide election.
Myself, I had assumed I would vote for Katie Porter but had doubts about her temperament before the videos leaked and then had gravitated towards Swalwell as the best likely unifying choice. Now, I don’t know. Maybe Becerra — but I do predict Dems will come together. We all hate Trump and his policies far too much to give him a win.
It is reassuring to know Democrats have a deep bench in California. I must say that while Swalwell talked in the right way about the right, there was always something that set me off. Now, knowing what we learnt from CNN, looking at his Wikipedia portrait from 2022, hits differently. Very disturbing, although I don’t know the astrology behind. He is a November 16th, 1980 native.
@Solaia, I was at a Democratic Club meeting this afternoon and spoke with a friend who works in Dem politics here in San Diego. He said that a (male) friend who had worked for Swalwell in a senior position in his office kept getting phone calls from reporters for the last year asking him to confirm reports of Swalwell’s sexual misconduct, but felt he couldn’t confirm them because none of the women had yet come forward and he felt it was their decision to tell their stories. So the rumors about Swalwell have been circulating for at least a year. I had just about decided to send him some money but never did. Now I don’t know whom to support, but likely Xavier Becerra or Betty Yee who both have solid experience running huge organizations.
Phew this is disappointing to see, but we have to deal with the reality. He has dropped out of the GOV race & I hope he resigns from Congress.

Any thoughts on climate evolution, or the evolution of human or global attidues to environment – such as forest and wildlife preservation, or sustainable/renewable practices? Asian industrial and mining development seems so deregulated and sorry to say barbaric – cut it down and build concrete, but even elsewhere where human action was more regulated these protections are falling away. Humanity seems to have too many other problems to think of the long term health of the planet and it’s other inhabitants. I was trying to find more and saw that the last time something was posted here was in 2022 – so much other stuff has occupied the collective consciousness since then.
Years of reading Majorie write about harsh aspects energy need external circumstances to soak up, I finally connected some dots recently. Thanks you Majorie. My mother with a Jupiter Trine Saturn has a tendency to indulge in her favourite food while restricting (Saturn) the rest of the family from touching it either by fat shaming us or by her eyes glaring. I also noticed someone I knew who used that Moon opposite Sun Saturn conjunction as an escape.
Good example of how houses could apply. If Jupiter is in 2nd it would be a self-indulgent person; and Saturn could then be in the 10th where it feels it needs to be in control of everyone around it. Other houses could apply!

Used to be really close (friends only) with a someone who had exactly same position you mentioned. Leo Jupiter in 2nd trine Aries Saturn in 10th. Self-indulgent, cutting corners… you name it. But critical (to put it nicely) of everything and everyone. And like that it’s not enough, omnipresent/unavoidable. It took me a lot of effort to cut all ties.

Those rumours have been around for years. It’s interesting she’s chosen to highlight the victims, and ask for people to listen to them. Marjorie’s chart for Melania, 26 April 1970, shows Uranus 5 Libra opposing Chiron 8 Aries (and maybe a Capricorn Moon making a t-square). So here come the tr planets in upfront Aries to energise that with a surprise, a ‘wound’, an old grievance? They also energise the Ivanka/Melania composite, with its Jupiter 27 Libra and Chiron (again) 29 Aries. The Aries Moon next week is 27 Aries. Maybe there’s more to come?

The traditional symbol of Iran is the Sun and the Lion, typically translated in astrological terms as the Sun in Leo. Is there an accidental choice or is it intentional, given the reputation of Persians/Iranians (going back to ancient times – think of the Magi) knowledge of astronomy?

On a lighter, less political(?) note, Marjorie, the next session of the UK Parliament is scheduled to start on 13th May 2026. It would be approximately around noon-1PMish, though I do not know the precise time it will occur.
The current session of Parliament (started 17 July 2024) has led to some noticeable changes to the law, such as complete legalisation of abortion (even up to birth and by non-medical procedures), the complete removal of hereditary peers from the House of Lords (most were removed in 1999, but a token membership of 92 was kept on till now), and at least an attempt was made to pass assisted dying (also called Medically Assisted Induced Death in Canada), though it is almost certainly going to fail in the next three weeks.
