US ship of state – on stormy seas

When behind-the-scenes political aides become the focus of media attention it usually spells trouble ahead. They fall on their swords or are pushed; and then spill the beans.  The UK is following a well-trodden path with Morgan McSweeney exiting stage left carrying the can for Starmer.

In the US, Trump-inspirer Stephen Miller has recently found himself thrust into the national spotlight with the ICE killings and is widely seen as the architect of the mass deportation policy which is meeting increasing criticism.

Born 23 August 1985 4.53pm Santa Monica, CA, he is facing heavy pressure on the career front with a challenge to his chosen direction as tr Pluto square his Midheaven now till mid March and late June to early August. Plus an unsettling/upsetting tr Uranus square his 8th house Virgo Sun mid to end of May this year. He won’t budge easily with Pluto in Scorpio on his Midheaven. But his problems will mount with tr Neptune undermining his influence as it squares his Mars/Node and opposes his Sun/Pluto and Mercury/Saturn midpoints from now to late April, and again late year into early 2027. His major major calamity comes in 2027 with tr Neptune opposing his Mars/Saturn midpoint.

That also shows up in his relationship chart with Trump with 2027 flagging up as an all-round disaster between the two of them. That follows on from one misstep after another from early this August to late December this year.

Susie Wiles, Chief of Staff, who has already rocked the boat with a Trump critical interview earlier this year, does seem to be moving through turbulent seas with tr Uranus square her Pluto until mid March; plus a panicky-failure Solar Arc Neptune opposition Mars and Solar Arc Mars square Saturn across this year. Followed by an applecart-upending tr Pluto opposition her Uranus early August till the end of the year. Plus several Uranian jolts to other midpoints from mid May to end of the year.

Either she is throwing in the towel or clinging on to the mainmast in stormy seas as dozy Don slides deeper into demented Don.

Her relationship with Trump worsens late April this year to late September with late May to mid August being particularly panicky. And a catastrophe or two the first half of this June and across the New Year.

The other forefront aide, communicator Karoline Leavitt, 24 August 1997 Atkinson, NH, like Miller has her Virgo Sun being seriously jolted by tr Uranus square in the second half of this May, and again early 2027. It will be even more tumultuous in her case since tr Uranus moves to oppose her Pluto this June and again across the New Year. Everything will be going up in the air for her, followed by a trapped scary 2027/28. Her Solar Arc Sun is in final degree Virgo at the moment – so teetering on the edge; as her Saturn heads for its First Return.

Her relationship chart with Trump is on a downward slide in a major way this March with tr Neptune opposition their composite Mars; with an explosive tr Uranus square the Sun/Mars midpoint in April; followed by a long run of instability from mid May right through into 2027 as tr Uranus elbows their composite Neptune opposition Saturn square Venus T square.

Too much information but I am struggling to pin point a turning point where calamity turns terminal in career terms.  Jettisoning one aide over the side would hardly be a surprise. But across the board the inner circle do appear to be in considerable disarray.

  1. There seems to be uncanny parallels with whats happening in Beijing. There you have an uncontrolled autocrat tearing up the rule book and neither the CCP nor the party endorsing his behaviour. Are there any astrological parallels?

  2. Really, what’s happening in the US is unbelievable. I never thought that in my lifetime I will see so much mismanagement and corruption in a US government. The US has always been a leader when it comes to good governance, management and good business models. Most countries around the world have always followed or copied US, but what’s happening now is embarassing. I always tell people that if Trump completes his term as US President, he definitely deserves to be the Guinness world records, he will be one of a kind. Its chaos all over in the US. How Astrology describes the situation in US, is probably Pluto’s powerful shift, it is transitioning it’s energy from Capricorn to Aquarius, it will eventually give power to the people, it is backed by Uranus which will move into Gemini this year. I think we must prepare for shocks, especially in upcoming mid terms. Most people including Trump himself are going to see the shock of their lives, maybe some red states turning blue (by the look of things he might not be President then). Saturn and Neptune are also exiting Pisces and moving into Aries, as well as the coming February 17 eclipse in Aquarius. Surely there is a big change coming in the US this year, one way or the other.

    • Besides the things you mention, Marjorie and Tshele, I keep pondering the contradictory concepts of Saturn and Neptune. Just how are they going to blend into “one” at the time of the upcoming conjunction? Somehow, between February 16 to 22nd those two planets are supposed to merge? It is such a mind bender to picture both planets in new, uncomfortable (to them) signs, not at any old degree, but at the critical 0 degree juncture. Sure, they have been closing in on it for months, but it looks kind of nuclear – will they implode and simply disintegrate together? Saturn ‘dissolving’ in Neptune’s waters, and Neptune squeezed between a rock and a hard place? Well, Saturn does not like dissolving and Neptune does not like being squeezed, so we’ll soon see.

Saturn represents limits and structure, especially in earth signs, but it has been swimming in Pisces, an incompatible water sign, inherently without limits, going every which way since March 2023 – 3 long years! Neptune has been in Pisces since April 2011, which really does feel like eternity (which both sign and planet rather symbolize).

Anyway, Pisces covers a lot of deep territory and Neptune doesn’t want to be pinned down, especially when it is resident in its own sign. April 2011 was when Game of Thrones premiered on HBO, Fidel Castro resigned after 45 years, and Barack Obama released his birth certificate after Trump’s birther controversy.

Now the apple cart gets upturned. Saturn goes into Aries, a fire sign, this week (February 15), indicating more upheaval and risk taking (fire) to come. There is no comfortable solid earth anywhere in sight for Saturn, yet. Meanwhile Neptune got hauled out of the water for good on January 27th and into the fire in Aries, just before Saturn. Water won’t burn. How, exactly, do they team up in Fire?

No wonder nobody knows what is going to happen next. Especially when you consider that the planets, Saturn and Neptune, are such opposites to begin with. Neptune being the far reaches of the universe and belief systems (water), and Saturn being mundane, power oriented material values (earth) Of course, the full symbolism is more nuanced, including an ambitious sea-goat for Saturn.

To me, the combination of Saturn and Neptune in Aries looks like more of the crazy stuff. I doubt it will be “normal” but things might settle down a bit by the time both planets make it past 3 degrees into the new sign. Improvements might be more noticeable once Saturn gets ahead of Neptune into a separate sign entirely.

Saturn leaves Aries and goes into Taurus in April 2028, but then goes retrograde over the November election. And not to forget that Saturn in Taurus is not all bright and sunny, even though both planet and sign are earthy in nature, because Saturn is ordinarily a restriction, if not an outright downer, particularly as to finances (Taurus). We may feel more stable with Saturn in Taurus, but we may not like the price.

All three outer planets, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto will be retrograde during the key pre-election period between September 19th to October 19, 2028. There may or may not be an “October surprise” in 2028 (since who knows about surprises?), but the planets certainly imply uncertainty over the election period. But, here’s an intriguing, quirkly thought to close with: on election day, November 7th, 2028, SaturnRx will be sitting exactly on Biden’s natal Pluto at 7 Leo 14′. Wierd. Will there be an echo of Biden’s era at the WH then? Don’t know what to make of that.

        • Saturn and Neptune are like oil and water, they don’t mix. Now imagine what is going to happen when they conjunct in Aries? In USA chart it falls on the 4th house of family, and father too. Saturn/Neptune will trine USA ascendant, surely this is not going to be a good year in the US. 2028 shows a change of administration, though the actual leader hasn’t appeared yet. Gavin Newsom is popular, but his stars don’t show him becoming the President then.

          • SweetGrapes and Tshele – interesting comments! Of possible relevance in this transitional process is the chart for the Battle of Lexington, 19th April 1775 marking the traditional start of the War of Independence. It has Uranus 0 Gemini, sextile Mercury 2 Aries and trine Saturn 3 Libra. That all seems sensitive to approaching transits of Uranus, Saturn and Neptune and could reflect public reactions, legal issues, and even something new emerging.
The Moon’s Nodes are 2 Virgo/Pisces, so will have the tr Nodes in Pisces/Virgo there by June, and a Lunar Eclipse at 4 Pisces perhaps further stirring up the past (Saturn’s domain) and the people in August.

Saturn and Neptune together in Aries do seem significant, marking a new cycle. Also, in myth, they are father and son. Saturn swallowed Neptune (and his brother Pluto and other siblings) fearing his children would usurp him. Tricked into regurgitating them, they emerged fully grown. So a kind of ‘twice born’ theme, offering hope after a sojourn in the darkness, maturity attained after a time of restriction?

          • Newsom has Jupiter conjunct his Sun on the day of the 2028 election so I would keep a look out for him. He scores well on E.A. Meece’s presidential charisma scoring system too.

          • Good analogy, Tshele. Oil and water don’t mix, at least not for long. I was thinking more along the lines of the kind of corruption that Saturn with Neptune might symbolize when I wrote the above post. Saturn and Neptune jointly impeding their ‘natural’ agendas as they merge going into Aries. It won’t last long as Saturn pulls ahead by 7 degrees by the midterm election, going direct on December 9, 2026 at 7 Aries 56′. By then one would expect the midterms to have settled as to who won what. Then Saturn leaves the fog of Neptune behind, but while they are together it could be quite a fog.

Interestingly, a year later, after being retrograde between August and December 2027, Saturn goes direct on Christmas Eve 2027 at 21 Aries, which is trine Trump’s natal Moon at 21 Sag. That could indicate conditions have eased for him and/or his party for the time being. Can’t say whether that result will be is good for the people, but not long after Saturn goes into Taurus on April 14, 2028, and does not reverse into Aries again. Trump’s individual future has many influences, but that does seem to portend continuing support for his administration’s policies (like them or not).

But maybe Bill Clinton’s famous quip, “It’s the economy, stupid” will carry the day at the 2028 election. Having Saturn retrograde from August 2028 through January 2029 may tell a different tale.

At the next inauguration, January 20, 2029, Jupiter at 26 Libra in the ruling 10th of the Sibly chart (Sag rising) will be SQUARE US natal Pluto at 27 Capricorn Rx in the 2nd of money and TRINE the Sibly Moon at 27 Aquarius, for the people. Jupiter looks to be working to resolve differences with Pluto and facilitate the people’s Moon in the trine. Could there be a better balance between the people and the power elite?

It isn’t clear. The inauguration Mercury is retrograde in Capricorn, so a change in course is under way (and might backfire to some extent when Mercury goes direct in the sign of administration). Also, the inauguration Moon at 8 Aries is just past conjunction to Neptune (the planet of illusions), and precisely sextile transiting Pluto (the power structure) at 8 Aquarius. At the same time, the Moon sextiles natal Uranus (unexpected developments, technology) at 8 Gemini, while Pluto trines US natal Uranus (revolution) at 8 Gemini.

That looks like an upset win to me, but it is hard to say which side the win is really on. At minimum, it seems the Moon is getting an accommodation from the powers that be after a fight (Aries). Which at least is hopeful, if the Moon might might make some inroads. Just guessing…..undoubtedly this territory will be covered many times over before we get to 2029!

          • Jane, thanks for the reminder of the 1775 battle. The story about Saturn swallowing his children and regurgitating them seems like post-Trump II. He is twice born himself, but could his actions trigger a separate twice born effect in the population? One would hope that means democracy and decent human behaviour will be twice born in the 250th year.

  3. I think Karoline Leavitt will be out on Maternity leave from May. I dont know how long they get but maybe a good chunk of summer.

Since a lot of what has been happening here in MN with ICE has been illegal and Trump won’t be president forever many of these people could be prosecuted by a new administration. They must realize they have to make a choice putting themselves further in precarious situations when it could end them up in jail and totally mortified by the country- someone will end up taking the fall on everything that’s happened and it likely won’t be Trump.

    • By rights, her capacity for telling patently obvious untruths and making cruel and unfounded accusations against Alex Pretti for example, should disqualify her from any future employment at the very least.

  4. I have always wondered the psychology behind people wanting to work for a malignant narcissist like Trump.
Were their parents mentally ill and they are drawn to Trump due to his familiar abusive behaviors or are they sociopaths like him.
As for Leavitt got pregnant as excuse to rsign because I couldn’t imagine having one much less two children with a father who will be pushing 80 when they graduate high school.
