Mark Zuckerburg – defying a tide of criticism

Mark Zuckerburg has been firmly defending his position at Facebook after another series of scandals, as befits a Sun and Venus in Taurus with four planets in Scorpio. He’s not a man for turning, despite stock being down 40% since a July high. On top of earlier fake news, election meddling and privacy concerns, a Times investigation has suggested the company had attempted to ignore and conceal Russian interference on its platform and had hired a PR firm to dig up dirt on its competitors.

Believe it or not, he was born with his Mars in Scorpio retrograde – 14 May 1984 Boston, MA, maybe 14.39 hrs (astrotheme). And his Mars goes direct by progression sometime within the next 18 months. This usually brings a crucial turning point with a huge outflow of energy. Though it will almost immediately run into a conjunction with his natal Saturn for a considerable setback. He looks deflated exactly now, with a few swampy Neptune transits continuing on from this year and escalating in 2019. But should get his act back together into 2020/2021 with tr Pluto trine his Sun and sextile his Jupiter/Node midpoint.

That’s when the Facebook IPO chart, 18 May 2012 11.31 am New York is roaring ahead with tr Pluto trine its Jupiter and it’ll stay on a high till 2024. But there will be a hiatus before then as it pushes against headwinds and lurches at times in 2019/2020.

Sheryl Sandberg, the COO, 28 August 1969, has been getting the brunt of the criticism since all of the transgressions happened on her watch. She’s a Sun Virgo trine Saturn in Taurus with an adventurous and lucky Jupiter Uranus Mercury in Libra. She’s not doing well in 2019/2020 with tr Pluto opposition her Jupiter/Saturn midpoint which can accompany a job loss. Though she should care given what she’s got in her bank account.

  1. I tripped into using transits to midpoints by accident – and as far as I’m aware it wasn’t a common technique back then. So most of what I’ve learnt has been of the try-it-and-see variety, though much of it based on Ebertin’s descriptions. If it works, it works is my theory.
The problem with relying solely on book learning is that one writer says it, later ones copy it, and before you know it has become embedded as a solid certainty. Like Chinese whispers consolidating a rumour into a concrete wall of fact. Until decades later someone comes along and says ‘tosh.’ At which point there are howls of outrage.
There are no tablets of stone in this field which is lamentably under-researched – trust your own judgement against your experiences. And keep testing.

  2. I was wondering about Nick Cleggs position in all things Facebook!
The choice seems strange Any sign of a permanment home in America? Have we lost him for good?

  3. facts! , I’d love to see your chart. Cranky transits?

Marjorie, thank you for sharing your insights. I know you welcome those with polite questions, contributions, and even presenting alternate points of view.

The hecklers can get their own blogs.

  4. Facts!
Marjorie is writing on today’s news , and if she were to include a detailed delineation of each and every notable aspect a chart may have, she might never get to write her generally insightful entries on mundane astrology .
You could have delineated the aspects you say Marjorie missed instead of merely citing them with no insight offered. Pedantry is a bore. FACT.

  5. Also, you can’t sextile a midpoint as you did for Zuckerberg! Midpoints are impacted by squares, oppositions and especially conjunctions–not sextiles. Just sayin’.

    • Well, as you can see, she got a lot more out in 1 post than you did in 3. Maybe it’s not as easy as it looks? Just sayin’

Curious, what qualifies you to dismiss her approach to midpoints as incorrect? How confident can you be of it when you’re hiding behind a pseudonym?

      • I’m confident of this method cause it’s written about in the variety of books that teach midpoint theory! It is easy, but you just have to read the books first. 🙂

And I’m not being dogmatic, Marjorie, I’m being factual.

        • You are confusing fact with theory, treating them the same and insisting others do too, that is quite dogmatic. Astrology books are not peer-reviewed scientific journals, particularly the older ones, which I think the most widely referenced ones on midpoints tend to be (Ebertin etc). Maybe “theories!” would be a better name for you? Marjorie is a professional in her own right who has written books of her own.

You could have said something like “Hi Marjorie, I am interested in your use of midpoints, as from what I’ve read the consensus seems to be to use hard aspects only . I’d be interested to hear about why you do it differently”. Note we say consensus, not fact.
Then you could thank Marjorie if she finds the time to explain and you could go away and make your own mind up instead of rigidly following one theory, like your man swimming to the tribal island with his waterproof bible over and over again. It is easy, it just takes a bit more effort than reading a book 🙂

          • Tara, LOL! Couldn’t have said it better. I’m definitely not a Midpoint specialist, but I do remember seeing sextiles and trines to Midpoints being indicated as markers of successful relationship on some site over 10 years ago. My husband and I have these, for instance, his Moon is trining my Venus/Moon midpoint. And that’s probably a very big factor in why we continue feel warm towards each other despite havinv clashed frequently.

  6. You barely scratch the surface of Sandberg’s chart:

*tr Neptune conjunct her moon (probably)
    *natal Mars square her moon
*and though it’s a broad aspect– natal Neptune square her sun

That says a whole lot about her! Why reach for midpoints before actually reading the natal planets? It makes no sense.

  7. Zuckerberg is good at wielding soft power, too. I just discovered that Chen Zuckerberg Initiative is a major donor to a program ran by the school attended by Barron Trump. I don’t doubt Pricilla Chan at least is genuinly interested in education. That said, if Zuckerberg were to seek WH access, this would be 1000 times smarter way to get it than having an event at Mar-a-Lago. Melania Trump is, by all accounts, a protective and present mother, but it’s now becoming clear she has a role in Trump Administration. School functions are, rightly so, off limits to press nowadays due to privacy issues. But undoubtably, they offer a chance for powerful people to socialize.
