Mark Zuckerburg – defending the indefensible

Mark Zuckerberg is under attack from his own Facebook employees as well as civil right leaders for his stance over Trump’s posts advocating violence which he is refusing to take down. Twitter hid a similar post under a label saying “glorifying violence”.

Zuckerberg said: “I know many people are upset that we’ve left the President’s posts up, but our position is that we should enable as much expression as possible unless it will cause imminent risk of specific harms or dangers spelled out in clear policies. I disagree strongly with how the President spoke about this, but I believe people should be able to see this for themselves, because ultimately accountability for those in positions of power can only happen when their speech is scrutinised out in the open.”

What’s interesting astrologically is that Zuckerburg’s Taurus Sun is exactly conjunct Trump’s Midheaven. And if an unverified birth time of 2.39pm is sound for Zuckerburg, then Trump’s Gemini Sun falls on his Midheaven. So a good combination for business. ‘You rub my back, and I’ll rub yours.’ It’s not a seamless bro-romance since Z’s Taurus Sun in a do-or-die-determined opposition to Mars in Scorpio squares onto Trump’s Mars. And Z’s Saturn in obsessive Scorpio squares Trump’s Pluto – so it will grate.

Their relationship chart has a dynamic composite Sun trine Mars and an expansive Sun opposition Jupiter. Though there’s a changeable and emotionally-at-odds composite Pluto, Saturn, Uranus conjunction square Venus – and the composite Sun is also in a differing-agendas square to Uranus. So it’s a relationship that will go through several seismic upheavals in its lifetime.

This week’s Sagittarius Lunar Eclipse will rattle their relationship chart as well as Z’s Uranus and Trump’s. So quite a seminal moment for both, with the potential for being pushed off track. Zuckerburg is exceptionally obstinate but tech firms have in the past shifted ground and revised policies after pressure from their notoriously outspoken staff.

Zuckerburg will be having an exceedingly uncomfortable month with the calamitous tr Uranus opposition his Mars/Pluto from June 10th to early July (repeating October and April 2021) with tr Saturn in a blocked square to his Pluto from mid this month to early July as well.

  1. He is a prime example of why the billionaire bunch needs to be taken down a peg. They suck up a nation’s wealth, set up their own little fiefdoms, and declare themselves a breed apart unfettered by the burden of decency.

  2. If Zuckerberg bothered his arrogant little self to have more control over certain topics that get onto Facebook, which is guilty of creating ‘vacuums’, and he did this a few years back, then today we wouldn’t have the problem of having Trump as a President or the virulent, cancerous surge of conspiracy theories! This man’s lack of intervention helped these both happen while profiting from it.

It sickens me that this man is also making a killing during the lockdown. Like he needs to be taking any more wealth out of circulation and hoard it off into offshore banks while the economy has to fight to get back on its feet! I loathe him and his dead, soulless doll stare. Alexandria Ocasio-cruz said it best, “These people don’t make money, they TAKE money.” Zuckerberg makes more money leaving things as they are.

  3. If Facebook changes its stance/policies, the power of the likes of FB will become blatantly obvious to everyone, i mean, those who did not realise how much control they have on our lives. A good thing , I would say … They need reforming/regulating

    • Totally agree. As the slogan says:
FACEBOOK – Wasting lives since 2004

If I didn’t need it to keep in contact with course groups/tutors, I’d bin this useless but all-consuming pile of crap he invented whose shadow is so large it affects even politics and militant groups that have rendered our world a dangerous place.

      • Even if you feel that you cannot leave (because of far away relatives or groups or whatever), what we can all do is simply sign up to another network like MeWe or Minds. Yes, even if you don’t know anyone else who uses it, because just the act of signing up makes a rival network stronger.

  4. It’s terrible that Zuckerberg gets to be judge and jury on this. Newspapers are bad enough but I can’t imagine any of them allowing this

    • In established democracies, traditional media does, generally speaking, have at least selfregulatory practises. And in those countries which tend to come on top in various “freedom” and “human development” there tend to be laws making divulging certain sort of news punishable at least financially. There are no such laws in place for social media, with decentralized content production.

      • Yes, which is exactly why a traditional advertising business model wouldn’t work for them, as many big advertisers shy away from user generated content. Their business model relies on data harvesting and manipulation, so regulation works against it.
