Ellie Soutter, one of the UK’s best up and coming snowboarders, a medal winner last year and just selected for the Junior Championships in New Zealand has tragically committed suicide on her 18th birthday.
Born 25 July 2000, she was a Sun Leo opposition Neptune, with two other oppositions in her chart of a confident Jupiter opposition Pluto and Venus in Leo opposition Uranus perhaps square a Taurus Moon. She would find it difficult to balance the opposing tendencies in her chart and would be emotionally sensitive with a focal point Moon.
She would be go-ahead and quite volatile with her Sun conjunct Mars in last decan Cancer but there’s nothing too obvious showing (without a birth time) about why she was so stressed. The Lunar eclipse this week was in aspect to her Neptune opposition Sun, last month’s Cancer Solar Eclipse to her Mars and the August Solar Eclipse to her Uranus – but nothing in that is strong enough to suggest such a senseless tragedy.
Only 18 – such a waste of a young life. There seems to be an epidemic at the moment.

Unique to the US and the UK is the policy of pursuing ‘ Equality’ *, insisting that the differences between boys and girls are cultural rather than inherent; this huge cultural shift, combined with the constant bombardment of social media and it’s temptations, seems to be causing an epidemic of misery and confusion amongst young people. Related to this I’ve always wondered about the epochs, the ‘ Age of Aquarius ‘ etc, how and why does their influence vary across the globe? Though it is questionable whether ‘ equality ‘ is an Aquarian influence, it might simply be an ideological aberration.
* I am not referring to ‘equality of opportunity’ which is obviously a matter of common sense.
Oh my, poor girl. Such a shame. It seems the world at large could do a better job of confronting depression and mental health issues, given we’re seeing this in the US and U.K.
Wondering if she exhibited any signs or symptoms prior to this.
Realistic social role models that one can relate to are elusive today. “How would a celebrity know of what I must face?” I’ve looked down that long corridor many times; can happily say I’m still here. The thinking that no one else knows how I feel or what I’m facing runs uncontrollably; “there is no tomorrow, only a repeat of yesterday.”
One can lay blame to a larger infrastructure – but it can never hope to “cure” suicide.

Of these aspects – how many people have them and skip blithely through to survive another few decades? I don’t work with asteroids so I’ve no way of knowing.
