Garden cheer from the Scottish Highlands
Simple pleasures.
“Daisies are like sunshine to the ground.” Drew Barrymore
“There is a flower, a little flower With silver crest and golden eye, That welcomes every changing hour, And weathers every sky.” James Montgomery

“Daisy, Daisy,
Give me your answer, do!
I’m half crazy,
All for the love of you!
It won’t be a stylish marriage,
I can’t afford a carriage,
But you’ll look sweet upon the seat
Of a bicycle built for two!“
-Harry Dacre
Such sunny flowers
Daisies
Daisies, they tickle me,
They make me laugh,
Laugh, laugh,
I thought I’d die.
Die?
I did die.
They planted daisies on my grave.
Daisies
Daisies, they tickle me…
Etc, etc, etc 🙂
Daisies – ‘Day’s eye’, they are supposed to move to the Sun. Don’t know if it’s true, they’re lovely, anyway.
!
My grandma grew up a farm with a hillside of daisies. When she wed her bouquet was picked from that bounty.
Gorgeous *big smile*
Bit of a hymn remembered from schooldays:
Daisies are our silver
Buttercups our gold
This is all the treasure that we have or hold
Marjorie, thank you for the daisies. They always make me smile.
Daisies, such a beautiful simple little flower beaming and bestowing pleasure. Such lovely memories as children sitting on the grass making daisy chains. Still do sometimes. Thank you.
