Boris Johnson – forced to focus on failings

Boris Johnson is discovering to his obvious irritation that he has an opposition in place capable of nailing him down with awkward questions. The most recent Prime Ministers Question time with the newly installed Keir Starmer evoked a flustered and aggrieved response as the former barrister’s inquisition of where his policies had failed in the pandemic crisis hit the mark. In return Boris accused the Opposition Leader of lack of co-operation and a deliberate attempt to distract the public to which he received the measured reply: “the Prime Minister is confusing scrutiny with attacks.”

Starmer, 2 September 1962, has a Sun, Pluto, Uranus in Virgo in a confident opposition to Jupiter, all of which sits on top of Boris’s Uranus Pluto, Saturn, Mars mutable T Square; with Starmer’s Uranus exactly square his focal point Mars in Gemini for an incendiary chemistry.

Their relationship chart has a cool, suspicious composite Mercury opposition Saturn square Neptune which will lead to confusion and evasiveness. And a wide power-struggling Pluto square Mars with Mars trine Saturn – so an angry interface which won’t improve as tr Neptune undermines the composite Mars till next spring.

The key question is – will Boris stay the course? Will he push a battered Britain across the Brexit finishing line in December and then bale for a lifestyle better suited to his blustering bonhomie temperament, having discovered the job he’s spent his life aiming for isn’t quite the prize he expected? Or will his health post-Covid dictate another course?

Tr Saturn will square his Moon from June 17th to July 2. It was around previously in late March/early April when he contracted the virus, ended up in hospital and nearly died. So it’s not beyond the bounds of possibility that the lingering after-affects, from all accounts long-lasting, make themselves felt. His Scorpio Moon is also being seriously jangled by the approaching Solar Arc Uranus conjunct his Moon, exact in 7 months, though in effect earlier. Given that his Uranus is tied into his T Square it does bring together the full weight of his scattergun, aggravated, high-tension temperament to bear on his Moon, not just this year but for several years to come. Which is a considerable pressure for the Moon to withstand. It could also involve challenges to his home and domestic life.

In addition, if his 2pm birth time is sound, then he has his Solar Arc Midheaven conjunct his Uranus within two months which suggests a radical change of direction – though if he was born a few minutes before or after, the timing could be out.

He will get a minor lift from tr Pluto trine his Mars/Jupiter midpoint from early this July to mid August and again late year – but that isn’t overly strong an influence. This week’s Lunar Eclipse will rattle his Pluto Uranus; the June Cancer Solar Eclipse will be conjunct his North Node; and the July Lunar Eclipse will catch his Midheaven – so it’ll be a fraught time ahead. Though the major turning point will come with the December Sagittarius Eclipse which will oppose his Sun Venus in Gemini – and that does tend to lead to a full-blown crisis thereafter or at least a major turning point in life.

  1. Can I just echo Maggy Cassin’s post and say thanks so much for keeping us all sane during these interesting times, Marjorie. I always particularly enjoy your astrological analyses on the psychology of our dear leader. 😉

  2. Marjorie, hope you are heavily inebriated on good French red, and lying on a soft sofa after the tribulations of today! Your task is Herculean, but you’re out in front, still. Many thanks for the heavy task you have of steering towards the truth, whatever the tribulations and madness of Them. Don’t leave us!

    • Bless you. No intentions of moving to a different planet in the near future, despite outraged despair about the one we live on.

  3. Notting Hill resident -I agree with you. Starmer’s legal and forensic skills were singularly lacking in his previous position in regards to the grooming gangs and Worbuoys. The publication of the report into the grooming gangs instigated by Javid has been delayed. It will be interesting to see what transpires from that. Speaking of trans, Starmer was the only one of the Labour leadership contenders who did not agree that a man could become a woman by self declaration. It’s not a high bar.

  4. Keir Starmer has a few questions to answer before everyone gets carried away. He is a better opposition leader than Corbyn but that is to damn him with faint praise. Even the awful Nugee woman would possibly have been better than Corbyn. He needs to provide credible explanations as to why he failed to prosecute the Pakistani grooming gangs that sexually abused and raped under aged, white working class girls while he was DPP. And why he refused to prosecute Jimmy Savile and John Worboys for the sexual abuse and rape of young women. There is also the matter of his failure to condemn the rampant antisemitism in his party while Corbyn was in charge. Particularly egregious given that his wife was Jewish and thus his children also. There is also his utter cowardice in failing to speak out against or sack his MPs, six and counting so far, that failed to observe lockdown guidance while hypocritically demanding that Cummings be sacked for seeking trustworthy suitable childcare for his son, and asserting that he would have sacked any of his MPs if they flouted the lockdown rules. Well they have and he has done nothing. Not even a comment. And one obvious reason is that he cannot afford to remove the whip from any of them. He already has the smallest number of sitting Labour MPs in decades. The above are just some of the questions he has to answer.
As for this week’s PMQ he chose to disclose the contents of a private letter to the Prime Minister and failed to mention that Boris had in fact telephoned him to discuss the issues he had raised rather than replying by letter.
Starmer is quite the disingenuous individual. Cowardly too. He has always been guided by self interest and throws any and every one under the bus to further his ambitions.
‘Forensic’ my foot. Anally retentive would be more apt. He sounds more like a micro managing middle manager than a potential prime minister. The most telling thing of all is that despite the monstering that the govt has had these past few weeks both Boris and the govt are still ahead in the polls. Starmer needs an enema at the very least that might sort out the pained expression that always appears to adorn his face.

    • Half of the allegations of antisemitism submitted to the Labour Party during 2019 came from one ‘activist’ shall we say – a person who submitted a huge raft of ‘poorly evidenced’ duplicate complaints repeatedly, the majority of which did not even relate to party members, thereby cluttering up the complaints process . The visceral hatred toward Corbyn, which also includes the PLP, was huge and revealing – but he is gone now.

I have recently read that William Hague was seen as an extremely able performer at PMQ’s – not that it did him much good in terms of winning elections. So, yes, it could be a mistake to attach too much importance to Starmer’s so-called ‘forsenic’ performances in PMQ’s. Time will tell.

      • No point repeating what you had said about Sun/ Pluto being seen as ‘forsenic’, although I just have. Do the vast majority of people really care about what happens in PMQ’s, no matter how well Starmer does? Probably not – that was my drift. The support for Boris in the country is still alarmingly strong due to his Brexit dream which has yet to unfold.

        • Jess, It was give prominence in the Mirror and DMail as well as the more upmarket media including the normally pro-Tory Telegraph. So yes I do think it filters through to the majority.

        • I know a number of people who had given up on Labour with Corbyn at the helm who are now really impressed by Starmer.

    • Notting Hill Resident, The only one getting carried away is yourself. The post was a simple look at Boris’s performance in the job which includes Westminster. That a former barrister possesses skills he doesn’t in focusing on facts is no great surprise. Why go off on a ranting tangent?

    • This is almost as funny as that North Kensington resident posting on here a few months about how brilliant Jacob Rees Mogg is

  5. Starmer’s Sun conj. Pluto in Virgo in the 10th house will give him a forensic focus on the task at hand, plus Mercury in lawyerly Libra trine Saturn in Aquarius will give him the power to clearly articulate complex issues. It will be interesting to watch his progress.

  6. Dear Marjorie
This is a fascinating reading, especially at this point in time of pandemic and what looks like a no deal brexit. Johnson really looks unwell, dreadfully so. And while a few weeks ago the public and his colleagues may have been willing to allow their sympathy to temper their challenges, by now everyone can see in real time that he is not up to the job. Even his smirks carry no power. I wonder who is waiting in the wings to despatch him by Spring next year? Although if he makes it to Christmas that will be a mighty task. Interesting too, that Cummings may leave in 6 months according to the Daily Mail.

  7. Thanks Marjorie. Very interesting to study this. I’ve always had a gut feeling that Boris would not complete his term as PM, or lead the Tories into the next election. As Robert Jones says, he hasn’t been himself since being so seriously ill – and we should probably also allow for the tiring and disruptive effects of his new baby son on his energy. Neptune’s transit to his Mercury probably isn’t helping – and could even symbolise the discombobulating effects of a new baby on his mental processes, as well as the lingering effects of the virus on his mental energy.

I noticed there’s a lunar eclipse at 5 Sagittarius in May 2021, which would resonate with Boris’ Uranus and Saturn, and the 1066 Jupiter at 7 Virgo. It is followed by a solar eclipse at 19 Gemini on 10th June, 2021, conjunct his Mercury. That eclipse also squares the Moon’s nodes (the public) in the 1066 chart, which are 20 Virgo/Pisces.

Keir Starmer must be quite a shock for Boris too. He doesn’t seem to be up to debating with a man with a barrister’s training and experience!

  8. Boris hasn’t been the same gung-ho personality since he got the COVID-19 virus himself.
He is a mere shadow of his former self, since his illness and recovery.

Mr.Starmer’s forensic questioning has seriously rattled him especially since Boris hasn’t got
the huge backing of his colleagues, during Question Time in the Commons. Unlike Jeremy
Corbin, Mr.Starmer comes across as a very formidable opponent. Boris appears to dread any
discussions with him, bearing in mind Mr. Starmer’s previous CV. It will be very interesting to
see how this situation plays out.
