Alien – well-starred

Alien, considered one of the greatest films of all time, is forty this year. A science fiction horror film directed by Ridley Scott it launched Sigourney Weaver’s career and spawned a media franchise of films, novels, comic books, video games, and toys.

Filming started on 5 July 1978, which was certainly auspicious with a Sun Jupiter (Moon) in Cancer, sextile Mars, square Pluto and trine Uranus – Jupiter Pluto for success, Mars Jupiter and Jupiter Uranus for luck – and it was on its way.

It opened in the US on 25 May 1979 to queues round the block when there was another New Moon, this time in Gemini which was sextile Jupiter in flashy Leo and in a serious square to Saturn; with a passionately enthusiastic Venus Mars square Jupiter.

The start of Principal Photography chart is usually the most informative.
