Melania Trump making a surprise plea for Epstein survivors to be given a congressional hearing and denying categorically that she had much contact with Epstein has sparked confusion about why she has spoken out, given that her husband was trying to distance himself from the scandal. Commentators suggested she might be trying to get ahead of a story about to appear. But overall there was bafflement.
“What is Melania’s game? Is she a secret member of the resistance after all, driven to act now by Trump’s threat to wipe out Iranian civilisation and growing fears that he is descending into madness? Is there a smoking gun in the Epstein files that could yet bring him down? “
What the astrology says is that her relationship with Donald is undergoing its greatest test since their marriage in 2005 with tr Uranus conjunct the composite Sun this month and moving onto a disruptive square to the Pluto this June, over the New Year and again in spring 2027. The power balance of their relationship will be altering significantly. There is also a sense of a meltdown between them in the later stages of June and again late year.
Her birth time is not known but it is possible that tr Uranus is square her Sun/Moon midpoint around this year/next year (circa 5 Pisces) which also suggests a widening gap in their marriage. Their wedding chart from 22 January 2005 circa 7pm Palm Beach, Florida is being badly undermined now with the Solar Arc Sun conjunct Neptune; and under acute pressure from tr Pluto conjunct the Sun; and jolted by tr Uranus square the Uranus.
From reports it seems to be a fairly distant marriage with her having negotiated a healthy settlement for their son Barron and presumably herself for future comfort. But there is definitely a seismic shift ongoing in their relationship at present.
Born 26 April 1970 in Slovenia, she is a security-conscious Sun Saturn in Taurus with Mercury Venus also in indulgent Taurus trine Pluto. Her Pluto squares DT’s Sun and Moon suggesting a relationship based on a power dynamic. The marriage may have started with her having to be ‘dutiful’ but as is often the case it may well have swung the other way recently with her taking more control. Tr Pluto is square her Sun this year and next so she will be undergoing a slow and challenging transformation. Tr Uranus was conjunct her Venus last month; opposes her Neptune by late this month and moves on to conjunct her Mars from August onwards, all into 2027 – so there are considerable changes ongoing in her emotional outlook.
Her relationship with Ivanka was chilly in Trump’s first term but may be better now with less competition for attention. Melania’s relationship with Donald Trump Jnr is horrendous with a composite Mars Saturn conjunction square Pluto, hinting at toxic dislike – and it will hit the skids in a major way in 2027/28 with tr Neptune has aspects to that square.
Melania seems an unlikely renegade with her Sun Saturn in Taurus and no doubt a reason for her outburst will become clear. She undoubtedly mixed in the same social circles as Epstein/Maxwell early on in her relationship with Trump. And with Epstein’s Jupiter in Taurus conjunct her Saturn Sun she would be attracted to his wealth; his Pluto was also conjunct her Venus Mercury so he would be persuasive even if they only met at Palm Beach cocktail parties.
She has even stronger astro-crossovers with Ghislaine Maxwell with GM’s Jupiter square Mel’s Sun Saturn; and GM’s Pluto conjunct Mel’s South Node. It need not have translated into lived experiences other than passing social interactions – but intriguing to see what comes next.
Once again, I bring up that transit Saturn/Neptune have entered Donald’s 8th. Last time around in April 1996 when Saturn had just entered his Aries 8th , second wife Marla Maples was discovered at 4am under a beach lifeguard stand with another man. The couple separated in June 1997 and divorced in 1999.
Who knows if another divorce will happen but both his chart and Melania’s point at it as possible.
Good point GD. I initially misread “Marla Maples was discovered at 4am under a beach lifeguard!” But no. I also think there are many kinds of ‘divorce’, and they are leading pretty separate lives. DJT appears to be increasingly unwell, and less than coherent these days. He’s leaving her on one level already I suspect. Perhaps that’s the Neptune in Aries element in the transit?

I wonder about the influence of Melania’s Catholic faith in all this? She is a practising Catholic. Their marriage is valid, but not in any ‘sacred’ Catholic sense, and I don’t know whether Trump had his previous marriages annulled before marrying Melania. Doubtful. They also married in an Episcopalian Church. So there’s a little bit of fog around it all, making the Pisces Sun/Moon midpoint quite descriptive I think. That midpoint will have the August Pisces Lunar Eclipse on it (4.54 Pisces), square tr Uranus in Gemini, and amplifying existing tensions. Melania may not be too happy with the insults directed at the Pope. Her expression on the traditional White House Easter Bunny balcony photo was a “face like thunder” I thought. Puffs of smoke are emerging from her inner volcanoe, although I’m not convinced we’ll see an actual eruption in public…..

Among the several important transits and progressions shaping up in Trump’s chart is the February 17 Solar Eclipse at 28º Aquarius, which lands right on his Descendant. This eclipse has the potential to become highly disruptive to his alliances and partnerships due to the square to Uranus at 27º Taurus. Among those in line for sudden change is his wife, Melania.
Melania was born with a Sun-Saturn conjunction in Taurus (April 26, 1970 in Novo Mesto, Slovenia), a combination that finds fulfillment through financial security and a stable home life. Her Sun-Saturn is strongly supported by a trine to her Moon in ambitious Capricorn, but she also has a spicy independent streak with her Sun’s tight quincunx to Uranus in Libra.
Unfortunately, we have no AA-rated birth time for Melania, but my colleague Marc Penfield has rectified the time to 7:00 pm. This makes a lot of sense to me since it gives her Scorpio Rising and puts her Sun-Saturn conjunction right on her Descendant. This accounts for her serious, penetrating glare as well as her rise in status due to “others,” and most specifically, Donald Trump. Melania was introduced to Trump in September 1998 and they began dating soon after during her Saturn Return.
After comparing Melania’s major life events to this 7:00 pm chart, I’ve modified Penfield’s time a bit to 7:10 pm, which is the chart used here. Still, the paternal Sun-Saturn conjunction dominates by being angular. It’s no coincidence that Melania’s father and Donald look and act alike, and that Melania instantly understood Donald’s motivations and lifestyle.
Melania’s Black Moon Lilith at 15º Leo conjoins Vesta near her Leo Midheaven, which shaped her professional life as a glamorous, enchanting model. Lilith here demands to be treated equally, yet it squares her play-by-the-rules, partnership-oriented Saturn. This creates a lifelong pattern of restraining herself to maintain her primary relationship. When Lilith is forced to be quiet, she gets filled with rage and resentment, something that seems obvious in recent photographs.
She stays married and loyal to Donald for unknown reasons, but likely due to her financial security and status as First Lady. Lilith near her Midheaven makes her the dark presence that is felt but not often seen in public. All that is changing now as she steps out of the shadows and enters the limelight to promote the documentary film, Melania.
The film premiered last weekend at New York’s Kennedy Center and 20 other cities across the country. At the time, transiting Saturn at 28º Pisces was closely sextile her well-placed Venus at 28º Taurus. Transiting Uranus is turning direct at 27º Taurus — only one degree away from her natal Venus and exactly trine her progressed Moon at 27º Capricorn.
Note that her progressed Moon is also conjunct the US Pluto at 27º Capricorn, which marks the national importance of this film. Another key US link is her progressed Midheaven at 13º Libra squaring her Part of Fortune at 13º Cancer, which conjoins the US Sun at 13º Cancer. This all bodes well for Melania’s place in history, except for some severe challenges also shaping up.
The one hard aspect to her natal Venus is an opposition from Neptune at 0º Sagittarius. Her progressed Neptune has retrograded to 28º43’ Scorpio, only 0º04’ from opposing her natal Venus. This suggests that disillusionment and disappointment may arise, even though she’ll pocket $28 million from the venture (according to The Wall Street Journal). The big Solar Eclipse is exactly squaring her Venus-opposite-progressed Neptune.
Directly ahead, transiting Saturn in late Pisces is entering into a challenging square to her progressed Sun at 29º Gemini, which confirms the ego-deflating negative reception audiences are giving her film. And with the Solar Eclipse right on Donald’s Descendant, the film’s box office numbers may have a direct effect on their relationship.
