Eris: Sacred Feminine Force of Evolutionary Astrology is the latest contribution to burgeoning field of astrological insights gleaned from beyond the standard natal planets. Eris is a dwarf planet situated in the Kuiper Belt recognized for its similarities to Pluto.
The author Daniel Fiverson with a background in Tarot, Hermeticism, and the I Ching, takes a soul-centered approach to astrology and writes lyrically and persuasively of the goddess of chaos and discord in action. Due its highly elliptical orbit it spends 20% of its 557 year orbit in Aries, most recently from 1928 to 2048.
Although Eris is a force that disrupts, provokes and shatters illusions, here it is presented here as a potent force for personal evolution and for understanding global historical cycles. Both conflict and catalyst, it highlights fractures that already exist.
House positions are key for personal interpretations since it stays for so long in Aries as are aspects to natal planets. In a chart it is where we are called to disrupt, challenge and resist compliance with falsehoods, confront uncomfortable truths, face distortions and say ‘No More’.
The mythological background to Eris is extensively explored and there are a wealth of detailed chart analyses focused on the house positions of well-known creative and political celebrities.
Eris as a historical marker is highlighted with its last entry into Aries in the late 15th early 16th century which accompanied the Fall of Constantinole, Italian Renaissance and the Guttenberg printing press – a time of ‘upheaval, revelation, irreversible change.’ It returned in 1927 as the world was gearing up for a financial collapse.
Eris in square to transiting Pluto in 2020 is pinpointed with the covid outbreak.
Eris square the USA Pluto 2026 – 2030, the author suggests will continue following the Pluto Return exposing the fault lines in American’s notion of exceptionalism. Beneath the collapse lies opportunity.
Expanding one’s astrological repertoire takes time, reflection and continued study to select what is of value and how the new knowledge can be used to deepen insight. Familiarity with the old ways where grasping the range of possibilities from signs, planets and aspects is automatic, makes grappling with the nuances of new concepts an effort.
Some of Eris placings make a good deal of sense being in hard aspect to Uranus in the charts of Julian Assange, Malcolm X, Allen Ginsberg, Ariel Sharon even Marilyn Monroe. Charles Manson had Eris in his hidden unconscious 12th house. The USA Civil War started on Eris opposition Saturn square Mars. The 2015 Inauguration had Eris conjunct Uranus. The 2025 Inauguration had Eris square Mars.
Jeffrey Epstein had his Moon exactly conjunct Eric in his 3rd house. Daniel Fiverson explains Moon Eris as – themes of survival, alienation, deep instinctual responses to feelings of exclusion and betrayal. Childhood marked by emotional turmoil, a strong desire for autonomy in emotional connections. Eris is described as a rogue and outsider which would certainly fit him. But it is also associated with the feminine warrior which certainly does not.
My jury is still out on Eris since it did not crop up in charts where I thought it might. But it may be that further study will nail down its usefulness. This book is certainly a delight to read, uplifting and compelling, a ground breaker in the astrological study of a planet that was only first sighted in 2003 and named in 2005.

Marjorie, Eris won’t make an exact square to the US natal Pluto at 27 Capricorn until 2033-37, rather than 2026-30 as you posted above. This also coincides with Uranus sweeping through Cancer–and conjoining the US planets–Sun, Mercury, Jupiter–in that sign. It seems the Conservative-Corporate power structures in America are due for a major reckoning next decade.
Thank you Marjorie. I never thought much of Eris before, thinking it too slow moving to be anything but generatonal and thought it didn’t tie into anything in my personal chart – but now I see it makes an exact (absolutely exact, to the minute) quincunx to my Neptune. But then, as these are two v. slow planets, that too seems more generational than personal. But Eris as “a force that disrupts, provokes and shatters illusions”, seems pertinent, when tied to Neptune. Food for thought.
Thank you for this Marjorie. Fascinating reading.
I looked up Eris in my chart and it is conjunct my MC in the 10th house. It’s also sextile my Mercury and Saturn which are the focal planets on my two T Squares.
I also have Mars in my 10th house so having Eris there too does help explain a lot!
Marjorie, just at note that there was no 2015 Inauguration – I think you’re referring to 2017 (Uranus at 20 Aries). Trump the disrupter (the mildest adjective I’ve ever used for him) was elected in 2016 and 2024.
Keir Starmer’s natal Eris is at 10 Aries and was conjunct the North Node when he became Prime Minister.
Hugely interesting. Eris plays a key role in my chart. I was born with Eris conjunct the IC. My childhood was disrupted by an alcoholic father and a very angry mother (Pluto-Moon conjunction square Saturn-Lilith conjunction in Scorpio). The driver in my chart is Chiron at 28 Cap conjunct Mercury at 0 Aq in a T-square with a Jupiter-Uranus conjunction at 25 Cancer and Neptune in the 10th at 28 Libra. Moon-Pluto are at 28 Leo. Eris is slowly bringing my life to an apex of some sort as it completes a grand square and a trine with all of the above. When Saturn reaches Eris in two years, I expect everything to blow up and to meet some final resolution. That is when I expect the world will blow up as well. Eris also has another meaning. As a humanitarian lawyer working for indigenous people, I have had to deal with difficult issues involving territorial rights and the secession of Québec. I will soon publish a book on this very delicate and explosive subject.
Andre! Would you give it a rest. The world is not going to ‘blow up’ in two years time. It will creak and groan on as it has done for the past three or four millenia, sometimes worse, sometimes not – but life goes on.
You need to get a grip of your tendency to catastrophize or damp down your overly dramatic language.
The current Eris/Chiron conjunction has been squaring my Saturn for the last year or so. It’s gruelling but I’m still standing. André, I’m quite sure you and the world will survive too.
Andre, Marjorie & VF – such an interesting cascade of comments! Andre, it does appear Eris and your 28 degree planets play a huge role in your life. We readers who dwell on astrology also anticipate future events in our own charts as well as mundane/political ones, but usually it is better to keep the personal and mundane apart with a respectful distance. Your being a lawyer working on sticky, generational injustices in a province as burdened by history as is Quebec, must indeed colour your view of personal and world matters in general, but it’s the leap to blowing up the world I have trouble with. A little over the top, maybe, in the drama department. Not that you couldn’t be proved entirely right in time, but only a future history book can tell us that in hindsight.
It’s such a dilemma doing astrology at all. You think it gives you the power of deeper perception that other techniques can’t, but it’s so darned easy to be wrong! Plus, the role of Cassandra is hardly appreciated. Even after proving right, there is no joy in it when nobody listens and the warning is not heeded, even when the message is spot on. In practical, every day terms, why bother predicting the end of anything?
However, you are entitled to your personal point of view and I look forward to your book. I trust you will announce it on this blog when it happens, and I hope it will be a balanced and objective book. I fear there are already enough cracks in the concrete without making Quebec into a more “explosive subject”.
Have to stand with andre since he comes from legal fraternity. It’s always been a hell world for the righteous and humanitarian lawyers and with Pluto in Capricorn as with all satrun fields, its become so bad that every honest lawyer wishes catastrophe. As in capitalism and politics ..saturn fields and real estate etc.
Pluto in Aquarius would as we can see surprisingly in asian politics , though i thought 20yrs n slow pluto so might come after 10yrs but yeah :-).

Thank you Marjorie. Curiously, Eris is currently retrograde at 24 degrees of Aries and also makes a conjunction with Chiron, currently retrograde at 23 Aries, both planets forming a square on Donald Trump’s Venus/Saturn conjunction at 23/25 Cancer.
The myth of Eris is not unlike the tale of the wicked fairy in ‘Sleeping Beauty’, who was not invited to the christening so cursed the infant princess to die from wounding her hand on a spindle. Eris similarly, having not been invited to the wedding of Peleus and Thetis, out of revenge creates the ‘apple of discord’ in order to cause maximum chaos. This apple, engraved with the word “kallisti” (to the fairest) leads to a falling out between Aphrodite, Hera and Athena, leading to the famous beauty pageant with Paris of Troy appointed by Zeus to decide the winner. All of which results in the Trojan war and its tragic consequences.
