“Russell Vought: Pushing confidently ahead late November to end of December; panicked over the Inauguration and discouraged. In better spirits from late February 2025 onwards.”
From a post “Trump’s little helpers – mixed fortunes ahead” in March 2024.
It would be interesting to know his transits in the next few years, heading up the project of which they’d dare not speak its name while campaigning.
Have added to post on Trump’s wild men
Thanks.
Hi Marjorie, would you be interested to look at Iraq? Your last post on Iraq war is on 18 March 2023. What is interesting is when I was thinking about this in the afternoon, the current moon was at 1 degree Gemini conjunct the North Node of the Iraq War chart. Eerie.
Marjorie, can we have an article on the charts for the 14th Amendment to the US constitution (adopted on July 9, 1868, according to Wikipedia) and more broadly on the Reconstruction amendments (13th, 14th and 15th Amendments, ratified on December 6 1865, July 9 1868, and February 3 1870 respectively – all dates from Wikipedia)?
The 14th Amendment is of course the basis of birthright citizenship in the US, which is being questioned by Trump.
And we are approaching the Neptune Return (~165 years) and two Uranus Returns (~84 years) from their ratifications. What would these Returns mean for these amendments?
This also builds on the discussion thread (started by Amelia Pettyfor about Neptune’s ingress into Aries) immediately below this post. How does that tie in with individual rights, especially given Pluto’s entry into Aquarius, which I think will push for the death of individual rights in favour of more collective rights?
Hi. My view of upcoming transit of Neptune into Aries has been dampened by a friend. I was so looking forward to this transit; however she is not. She believes that the hallmark of Nep into Pis was/has been compassion being at the forefront. I personally would not have stated that. I thought it’s been about mass delusions and mass hysteria. Honest question: have I been missing something since 2011? She thinks Nep into Aries will be devoid of compassion. However, I know Aries who are compassionate folks and I’m hoping for a type of spiritual activism that is rooted in compassion. Am I being deluded here? Maybe I am since Nep in Aries may bring about hypermasculinity and more wars and aggression, in general. Thanks.
Saturn Neptune in Aries in mid 2025 through 2026 will see a push for a better society (unbelievable tho it may sound at the moment) with a push to help the under-privileged – workers and women from past historical experience. Agree on Neptune in Pisces – delusional, whacky beliefs, ungrounded.
We shall see what will happen to mindfulness, meditation, Law of Attraction / Law of Assumption / Lucky Girl Syndrome, ayahuasca, and all the other a little bit alternative theories of reality and ways of doing things.
It’s worth remembering that Neptune in Aries saw the abolition of slavery in America, beginning in 1865. There were also a number if successful protest movements, including the Civil Rights Movement, the Labour Movement and the Suffrage Movement. I think we’ll see less waffling and confusion, less mad conspiracism and instead more effective action after the coming ingress.
Salvatian Army – 2 July 1964 – seems perfect expression of Neptune (religious salvation) in Aries (army/war) for the less well off
I wonder if Florence Nightingale’s first nursing school (est. 9 Jul 1860 – Neptune at 29Pisces) also counts as its first ‘graduates’ would then have headed out a few months later into the Neptune in Aries period
The Aga Khan has died. Would love to learn more about him.
The history and astrology of the title itself, as opposed to the Aga Khan IV, would also be interesting.
Today I learnt that, since the title was created by the Iranian shah in 1818 (precise date unknown, but it would be interesting to see the location of the outer planets in that year), there have been only four Aga Khans, of which one occupied the role for just four years. The other three Aga Khans thus thus held the title for an average of about 67 years each.
The previous Aga Khan (III) nominated not his son, but his grandson, the recently deceased Aga Khan, to succeed him as the “Imam of the Atomic Age”. Hopefully he in turn has nominated one of his grandsons as the Imam of the Digital Age.
The recently deceased Aga Khan is related to many British aristocrats families through his mother’s side of the family, who have a history of repeated marriages and divorces.
The Aga Khan is the head of the Nizari Ismaili branch of Shia Islam, and also a branch of the Fatimid dynasty, and the only “Imam” of the Shias that is not considered in occultation (don’t quote me on this).
All information above is from Wikipedia.
I have two requests for you to read on. The first being Dr Lee who not only says Lucy Letby is innocent, but that the prosecution misused his findings on the neonatal unit at the Countess of Chester Hospital.
The second one is on Tito. Your take on Mussolini, brought him to mind. I travelled in Yugoslavia when I was a teenager, so lots has changed since then.
I would be interested in this too. Perhaps a look at Lee, Davis, Dewi Evans (who used research by Lee in his evidence but Lee claims he misinterpreted it) and an update on Letby. Assuming birth dates are available.
Also interested in Tito.
Hmm I tend to avoid stories that are still a matter for the courts. There is a piece from her guilty verdict in 2023 in search.
I fully understand Marjorie. Makes sense.
Hi Marjorie, MP Sir David Davis believes convicted baby killer Lucy Letby may be innocent and is campaigning for a retrial.
He says much of the evidence was based on a “doctor’s gut feeling” . I note Sir David has no water element in his chart.
Any thoughts on his chart, and how it meshes with Lucy Letbys chart?
Ok, so he appears to have south node in Scorpio. One astro website describes SN in scorpio as having ” a tendency to ravage others in search of truth, hidden motives, something to pin inborn fear and jealousy onto. Finding something or someone that will validate your ultimately baseless and seemingly innate jealousy, fear of betrayal and hurt, and tendency toward relentless and often unnecessary defense is a primary driving force”
Hi Marjorie
Apart from the 29 anaretic degree, are there any noteworthy degrees you look for in a chart? I’m guessing 0 degrees? Anything else? I read 5 degrees is the fame (Leo) degree. What do you think? Thanks!
9 degrees of fixed signs are supposed to be significant too. I’d be interested in hearing more about anaretic degrees too.
Hi all. Is the Treasury/GSA cyber hack technically the world’s largest (most severe) hacking? How would that be measured? Is there an exact time for moment the systems were breached? Thanks.
Marjorie: Do you ever use asteroids in your work? Would love to know your thoughts/opinion re asteroid astrology.
Hi Marjorie
Don’t recall you writing about this before but, upon reading your latest posts I wondered what the US and UK Progressed Moons and charts would be, or even if countries have Progressed Charts and Solar Arc charts? If they do, how do they currently measure up with their current leaders? Thanks
The BBC has done a really interesting series on the Austen sisters, a really good portrait of the times too,. I noticed many many similarities in Jane Austen and my own chart(!?) and wondered if you could have a look at her. She passed young of- they say- possible arsenic poisoning from the ink??

Hi AC. My understanding is that she died from Addison’s disease. JFK also suffered from that.
Hi. Would you please look at Rachel Maddow? I did not find a previous post for her. She’s an Aries, I believe-and has decided to come back to five nights per week for first 100 days. Maybe Venus in Aries will help her bring some heat. Thanks.
@Amelia Pettyfor
This is what I value about this forum, it is simply the best for an all round view both astrologically and the facts, as above so below. I have never heard of Rachel Maddow, looked it up she describes herself as a liberal in the Eisenhower mould, when AMERIKANs had a sense of purpose and were, on the whole, a force for good.
Yes-she’s brilliant. I’ve heard great things about her books and podcasts. Only watch her show, though.
Love your page Marjorie.
Could you take a look at Irish/English writer and philosopher Irish Murdoch sometime?
I just watched a compilation of her talks on YouTube from ‘Get The Plot First’ Booker Prize. A time of education in Britian that focussed upon critical thinking. What a mind and observations of humanity. I do love her novels too. Such insight into people demonstrated through interpreting their behaviour not telling us anything.
In the Booker Prize video Iris talks about her great love of other people’s relgions and their worship and her own lack of Faith but fascination that people find something she could not herself. I’ve not heard anyone say those things before or observe them.
I really liked her comment too about Life. Iris said, “Life is very terrible and very funny”.
I never seem to hear people like Iris Murdoch any more but we used to on TV and in life at that time. Arthur Marshall was another example of that stunning education, wit and observations. It was very wonderful to live through that time of such clever people and great education in the United Kingdom.
Trump is arriving in Europe on Wed and leaving Thu. Airspace over Belgium is closed. Should be a very interesting week.
Could you write a piece on Anglo Canadian relations. Canada has been our most steadfast ally and, being old fashioned, believe in loyalty to our sister dominion in its our of need.
However given the ethics of our elected representatives, I suspect many of them support perfidious Albion
Can you elaborate on what you meanby perfidious Albion in this context?
The amount of hate and spite washing round in the collective is bad for society in general.
Amazing the vitriol being put out against individuals that are disagreed with.
Despite Starmer’s denial that his government is seeking a return to the EU, I was wondering Marjorie if you would return to France, if that was the case?
As an older person who has seen a lot of things, I am puzzled about the interference of the Trump government? I am not American. I don’t know much about America. I see an elected president, elected by a huge majority, going about his business putting in place policies that a democratic majority have voted for. Where does the interference, and it is hysterical interference, of an elected government fit from foreign countries like the UK and Germany? The mainstream media interfering with an elected president and his elected government, as unelected commentators is something I have never witnessed in my life time. It seems very very wrong that the unelected are trying to interfere with the elected. Not that I know much about these parties but the process of Democracy has been served by a people. That is the end of it.
@Patricia, have you ever heard the saying “nobody is above law”? Being elected should NOT be a get off the jail card for any kind of illegal activity. This also includes impeachable offences by elected officials in their position. However, the US Supreme Court recently ruled that the President essentially can’t be impeached.
This poses some really profound issues,
because the key concepts of democracy is the separation between legislative – parliament – and executive – government branches. In the US, based on their Constitution, this separation is historically less clear than in most other democracies, given the President has a possibility to give so called Executive Orders bypassing the legislative branch. This has historically been used relatively sparsely, and keeping in mind that Executive Orders must be legal. In case they aren’t, they can be not only challenged at courts, but the person giving them could be impeached.
This firewall no longer exists, and the current US President has launched a series of actions through Executive Orders which are clearly illegal. For instance, he has allowed Elon Musk’s team, who are not governmental workers, have not been elected or even have a security clearance an access to Federal databases containing sensitive information on businesses and, I’m afraid, private citizens. However, he will never be held responsable.
And, unlike you say, the mainstream commercial media isn’t covering this. They are going all the length to portrait this as “business as usual”.
I will not even start on international agreements here, because the damage Trump administration has done to relationships with their allies and partners committed to following international Rule of Law is immeasurable and likely irreparable. The 21st Century we’ll shape will not have the US in same kind of dominant role it had since WWII. It’s scary, but I actually think a very necessarily process for others, however, the US can only loose.
Many unelected rich elites have influence in government and certainly did not start with Musk, whom I’m elated has not censored freedom speech and tweets his intelligent missives regularly and an also happy that Zuckerberg will not take directives from the government as he was instructed to do under Biden or post Biased -third party Fact Checkers. If you want a list of evil billionaires with tremendous influence -think Gates, Fink,Soros,Murdock-others lobby governments or are part of a revolving door between public and private departments and agencies .
And it didn’t start with Trump or Elon. There are many ways for zillionaires to destroy democracy:
“True, Lockheed Martin doesn’t actually run the U.S. government, but sometimes it seems as if it might as well. After all, it received $36 billion in government contracts in 2008 alone, more than any company in history. It now does work for more than two dozen government agencies from the Department of Defense and the Department of Energy to the Department of Agriculture and the Environmental Protection Agency. It’s involved in surveillance and information processing for the CIA, the FBI, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the National Security Agency (NSA), the Pentagon, the Census Bureau, and the Postal Service.
As soon as I read “elected by a huge majority”, I spotted an astroturfed post.
It is very wrong that the unelected wealthiest man in the world is interfering in government, you’re right.
@JB.
Yes, you can tell who the trolls are by their over-the-top rhetoric.
I hope they are well paid or that they are bots.
@Roderick, I wonder what they wish to achieve here? I remember that in 2016, almost all English speaking astro conversations sites were targeted. Might have been due to the user base: Mostly white, American women, considered maybe somehow devoid of critical thinking. And I get it, Pizzagate got big fast there. But since then, almost all platforms have closed, those of us remaining are mostly VERY hardened against this.
They wish to sow the narrative that everything happening around Trump and Musk is entirely normal, and not to worry about it as it’s inevitable.
@Solaia, their efforts were multi-pronged but their target this past election was to keep Kamala Harris out of the White House.
Most political pundits assumed that Kamala would run for president in 2024, but everyone assumed that Biden would resign at some point to allow Kamala to run as the incumbent and not have to go through a primary, but Biden’s staying in until he was pushed out left Kamala with the worst of all worlds.
She wasn’t able to establish her own identity or policies and only had only around 100 days to assemble a campaign.
With all of that said there seemed to be a concerted effort in the black male mansophere to trash Kamala’s personal life and to slut shame her for having a long-term relationship with Willie Brown and diminishing her accomplishments by implying that she slept her way to the top.
One of the main culprits was Joe Brown who used to have a judge show seemed to be on a mission to discredit Kamala and he went on multiple platforms repeating the implication that Kamala didn’t earn her position as VP.
Then there were the comment sections of pro-Democratic YouTube channels that were loaded with pro-Trump posts which either attacked the owner of the platform as a shill for the DNC to calling the guests names to messages like ‘Trump 2024’ to posts encouraging people to stay home and not vote at all.
Add that to the many YouTube videos that Kamala didn’t have any black ancestry and that she was lying to get the black vote based on fraud that angered a lot of black folks and left them feeling ambivalent about her as a candidate.
Those weren’t the only reason that Kamala got so many fewer votes overall than Biden did, but those are a couple of the reasons that the black vote fell in cities like Philadelphia, Detroit, and Milwaukee which contributed to her losing the states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin respectively.
Why are they commenting on an astrology site? Who has decided that propaganda needs to be placed here (if these posts are bots)?
I find that to be strange.
This site does seem to have been infiltrated by trolls with seemingly normal names who are not here regularly sitting Kremlin/Trumpian talking points. Consider them a disinformation operation – they are not really interested in participating here. No American asked for what musk is doing. No American asked for the mass firings going on. Trump won by less than 50% and has the lowest approval rating of any president ever at this point. Non of us elected Elon Musk – but he seems to have taken over. Maybe these are Elon musk trolls from twitter.
Calm down. I remove obvious trolls and am open to advice if any slip through. But allowing for a wider debate is vital. Why do you think Trump got elected? The views of those who supported him need to be understood. That is what a democracy is.
Part of the problem at the moment is America’s tendency to get starry eyed about the past and the ‘integrity’ of its political system. Billionaires have always had undue influence etc etc. It may be more egregious and shameless with this administration but it is the result of a long slide from what went before to this point. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2025/feb/03/donald-trump-american-exceptionalism-guantanamo-bay-imperialism-billionaires
Marjorie, you are partially correct, but this time the billionaires came out of the shadows to put their thumbs on the scale.
Bezos and Soon-Shiong publicly forebade the editorial boards of the Washington Post and L.A. Times respectively of endorsing Kamala Harris instead forcing them to give no endorsement to appease Trump.
Never before have billionaires had front row seats at a presidential inauguration before Trump’s second swearing in.
The scary part is that Zuckerburg, Musk and to a lesser extent Bezos control the flow of information globally with their platforms and can control and manipulate the opinions of billions.
Although a lot of journalists are now on Bluesky, there are a significant number who remain on either Threads or X or both so Musk and Zuckerburg still control the flow of what news gets reported to the masses and now they have made common cause with a man who wants to be a dictator.
Roderick, The point the Guardian piece was making is that this is what happens – a long downward slide over several presidencies – when you allow ‘norms’ of moneyed interference and the like to become established.
Maybe it is like alcoholism – you have to hit rock bottom before reality sinks in and you change course.
Sorry Marjorie. Really wondering who this Brisbane fellow is. Direct attack on me – with no idea of my political leanings. Just assumes I am left. When maybe I might be a never Trump Republican.
Replying up here as I had to.
Roderick’s analysis is completely correct. Many of us Never Trump Republicans are not sure the Republic will hold, and very soon it won’t be about democracy anymore. These new commentators have no idea what is coming for them. We are on a strong march toward a dictatorship.
@Marjorie,
I agree, but my point is that most of the billionaires before Musk have only contributed to campaigns because they wanted fat tax cuts in return.
Musk is a completely different animal.
He’s reportedly obtained access to the database that contains the employment information of every single federal government employee of which I am one.
What does he plan to do with that data now that he has his grubby little hands on it.
Not only am I angry about some non-government person having access to my information, but the fact that Musk couldn’t obtain a security clearance due to his drug use and probable mental health issues while my job requires me to maintain a secret clearance even though I deal with contractor data which may or may not be confidential and not secret is infuriating.
As for Trump supporters we know why they support Trump—-he (claims) to hate the same people they do.
The cruelty of his policies is the end game.
Roderick, what’s quite shocking with the situation is the deafening silence of the Democrat party in all this. Why they not shouting from the rooftops daily? They still shell shocked? They gotta pick themselves up brush off and fight harder.
@Jennifer,
The Democrats have been focusing on the confirmation hearings and yes they are shell shocked because Trump is ‘flooding the zone’.
I work for Uncle Sam and we have been getting almost daily emails about the buyout offer.
It is a very amateurish operation because they are answering questions that they would have anticipated .BTW what exactly do you want the Democrats to do?
They tried to warn the voters (and non-voters) about Project 2025 who couldn’t remember the chaos for Trump’s first term, but obviously they didn’t take it seriously so we will have to wait until the 2026-midterms to make some sort of course correction.
‘Newbie’ really doesn’t sound like a troll name. Dramatic irony there. If any person challenges these extreme left wing narratives they are gaslighted into ‘The Kremlin’ or ‘Russia’ or ‘Mentally Ill’. Maybe people are getting beyond the left wing rhetoric and seeing that it doesn’t work. How many died in Paiestine under Biden? From Biden’s armourments? Maybe it is time for a change.
Mr Trumps margin of victory was narrower than the vote to leave in the 2016 Referendum. 1016: 52% to 48%; 2024 election 50% to 49%. Not a ringing endorsement I would suggest.
That was a reply to Patricia’s comments
The antipathy to Mr Trump from overseas is probably due to the affect his tariff policies will and has had on the ordinary people outside the US. The footsie 100 has lost 1.23% this morning that affects my small share portfolio
Is there any currency in this scheme this man is putting forward. Now, I am no economist. I am looking at this scheme of blocking imports and generating jobs and manufacturing at home. I am thinking saving oil on mass shipping from China. I am thinking internal domestic markets like we had up to the 1970s. Jobs at home and all of that. Is there any value in moving forward in this way as the American Government appears to be doing? Or am I mistaken?
Tariffs would have been inefficient in the 1970s, import controls would have been more effective. However in order to get either to work exchange controls would have to be introduced such as we had in the 1960s/70s.
In retrospect the measures taken by MITI in Japan and the IDA were far more effective, in their use of non tariff barriers.
@Patritius
Please can you remind us of the non tariff barriers of the 60s and 70s, can it be something like the measures of only being allowed to take out a small amount from the country?
I could take you through the mechanics of the Mr Trump’s measures, but it is far more informative to look at the markets and exchange rates this morning and discern why they are moving in the way they are and relate these movements to the real economy.
Hi Marjorie,
Can you do an update on Mitch McConnell? The last one I saw is from 2021.
He has a lot to answer for, including the potential fall of the Republic. This is on him. We no longer have a functioning Senate.
Thanks.
@Newbie, “Wired” (I might just need to subscribe, because they are doing excellent work) has named six individuals involved. Young men between ages 19 and 24, with a background in Elon Musk and Peter Thiel companies. I think this is an interesting piece of information, because Thiel has tried to distance himself from much of this.
And: As I went to check things on Bluesky, at least one of the people named by “Wired” is Canadian.
Should have been a response to an earlier message.
There was an interview of Mitch McConnell on CBS last night and he more or less said that he will always back a Republican instead of backing the US Constitution.
So much for the oath that both he and Trump swore to.
Reading your post on the Middle East I’m wondering how far into the future can you read- for example the chart of Israel. Is it possible to see whether say 100 years or 500 years from now the region is peaceful?
Musk has taken over Treasury Department Payment system including Social Security payment system. The whisper network over here says it is a coup in process.
Nor is any one of these three Musk people a federal employee. Yes, it appears to be a coup in process, especially with the planned cut in federal employees — 70 percent in OPM (Office of Personnel Management) alone. We also can’t discount the psychological impact of the “buy-out” or planned layoff notices on the air traffic control and other safety systems.
With Musk’s people gaining access to and taking over the federal payment and computer systems, will large chunks of US taxpayer dollars find their way into Trump’s and Musk’s (likely offshore) bank accounts?
Also, could this data be shared with other nations? And could the data be deleted? Is this Uranus? Can anyone be arrested for this? Is there anyone to actually make an arrest?
Amelia Pettyfor, 1) Yes, although I think Musk is using the data for his own, murky purposes. Apparently, he has gathered information on his commercial competitors. 2) Yes, that’s why people have been downloading scientific studies from CDC the whole weekend. Losing studies about trans healthcare may seem “marginal” to many, but there is no guarantee what so ever they will keep other information safe. 3) I think it’s Aquarius New Moon. 4) Yes, Trump can’t be held responsable for ANY order he gives as POTUS, but there’s a chain of command. Democrats should try to impeach Secretary of Treasure who “authorized” this, no matter how much Republicans circle around him. The people who physically breached that information should be charged, too. State charges, if in any way possible, because Trump can’t pardon those. In any case, make them go through a trial, with a discovery.
@ Nicole. I work for Uncle Sam at a contractor facility in northern AL so you can imagine I am one of the only non-Trump supporters in my office and I literally despise most of my coworkers because they voted for this clown.
One of my two black coworkers is in a real life Clayton Bigsby who called Kamala hot garbage. I don’t know what the political leanings of the other one is but they seem friendly so he they are probably aligned but he is quieter about his beliefs.
When I do go in I do my work and go home. Besides meetings my job doesn’t require much interaction with my coworkers which is a blessing.
As for the buyout it is invalid on several levels.
First the current continuing resolution expires on March 14th. So there is no budget to pay them beyond March 14th right now and who knows how long it will take the Republicans to get a budget passed through the rest of the fiscal year.
I’ve been working for the government for almost 25 years and they have offered early outs but only will a one time lump sum payout (VERA/VSIP) but you have to be off the payroll immediately.
But never have I seen the government offer this deferred resignation and the executive branch has no authority to do so because only Congress has the power to appropriate funds.
So who ever takes the offer will lose their jobs, but won’t get the money.
Are you a Fed-Fed? Reddit has a great thread for Feds. I lurk over there. It is how I found out what was going on at OPM. They had metadata that the original email was created by Russ Douthat?
It is a coup. They are firing all the Senior FBI executives and going after the agents. I should probably reach out to a friend who was an FBI agent for 30 years. This is bad. I am afraid Elon is going to crash everything.
I don’t know how to protect myself. I am buying a new car this week – a small one. Mine is 15 years old and I had to put $7000 into it in 2024 with more to come. When this trade war hits everything will go up in price. I am expecting food shortages so I am stockpiling lentils, beans, quinoa, sardines. They are deporting all the people who picked the food.
It is bad. So bad. Not clear on what I can do. When a man like Lawrence Tribe calls it a coup (And he did today) it is a coup.
Thanks, Newbie, but I am not much of a Reddit fan. I have been watching some videos on YouTube but they don’t seem to have much more insight into what is happening than the rank and file government worker.
Even though I’m only 52 and I am no where near prepared for retirement so I will have to stick it out and see what happens.
I was going to get another vehicle during Christmas but my mom needed some new appliances so there went my down payment.
I just had to replace an oxygen sensor and something that had to do with the oil filter and that was around $600 on my 2011 Honda Pilot.
I may just use my mom’s CRV which I paid for. LOL
Could you look at future relations between Russia and China. Whilst Russia has been side tracked by its silly war in Ukraine, Chinese people have being showing greater interest in Russia’s far east. Bear in mind that the Russian Far East is the last unequal treaty that China has not tackled.
@patritius, this interests me too. Russo-Chinese treaty was signed 14th November 1860.
Hello Margie,
Really enjoy reading your news section.Wondering if you could do a chart on Globalist Klaus Schwab, and the WEF,as he has frightening influence on many young globalists leaders-Trudeau,Macron,and the scary Keir Starmer-which override national interests.
I read Davos wasn’t well attended the elites this year. Not as many private jets showed up to sell us on climate change.
Thank you
Another interesting thing happening in former Yugoslavia – called Yugosphere now, it seems, on Wiki? – are the retail boycots:
We may not be able to see Neptune, but there’s a really beautiful visible conjunction this evening between Venus and the crescent Moon in Pisces. Neptune joins them in a mysterious, invisible manner! 28 degrees. May it bring sweet dreams in these turbulent times.
Yes, saw the Moon Venus conjunction earlier this evening, so beautiful!
Saw it earlier this evening. So beautiful, like a boat guided by a bright star.
It was visible for several hours, crisp cold early evening to serenely calm late evening;beautifully mesmerizing.; Imbolc, Brigid
Very beautiful here, too, on a cold, clear crisp evening!
Beautiful. And the conjunction started just inside Venus’s exaltation degree 27 Pisces. Such a strong Venus and weak Mars, I wonder what your thoughts are on that?
I’ve been thinking about the legend of Melusine with her serpent’s tail on Saturday bath time, or sometimes with her two fish tails. She may be a bit Venus in Pisces – a seductive siren with a secret. And it is the Year of the Snake too. Melusine packs more of a punch than the Little Mermaid!
Mars in Cancer could be her husband Raymond. She makes him prosperous and happy, but he breaks her rules and spies on her, then gets angry. That could be a Mars in Cancer sideways move? Ruled by the Moon, Mars probably doesn’t enjoy the power Melusine holds. Inevitably, she leaves him. He is a weak Mars.
What’s curious is how Mars draws closer to us here on Earth during the retrograde. So it is making a show, and I wonder if it is asking us to think about what Mars signifies? Sometimes we praise warriors and lovers. Yet at the moment there’s way too much rhetoric and shouting around I feel. Even our UK politicians are using phrases like ‘ further and faster’ and ‘unleash’ as if they were in a blockbuster movie. All quite tiresome.
Thank you Jane, that’s a really interesting perspective! The Mélusine connection is such a beautiful way to think about Venus in Pisces, and the Mars retrograde symbolism really gives food for thought. You’re right, even though it’s debilitated, Mars being closer means it’s very much felt.
So, Trump is sending Rubio to buy Panama. Another clash and explosive situation on the horizon.
Meanwhile, in Serbia there are huge protest, led by students, requesting the rule of law and correct function of the system institutions, again all started by a major tragedy as a precedent:
I am not even bothering with US media at this point, with the exception of Pro-Publica. Every day I check El Pais, DW, BBC, Le Monde to see what the world is saying. If there are additional sources – please tell me. Thank you.you for
The Financial Times (ft.com) and the Economist magazine are wonderful sources. They were both owned by the long-established British publishing firm, Pearson, until 2014/2015. The Financial Times was sold to a Japanese firm and the Economist group to an investment firm owned by the Agnalli family. Both have kept a news-oriented approach and have great journalists.
Sadly, the Wall Street Journal, although always conservative, went downhill after Murdoch bought it — not an unexpected outcome.
Thank you.
Do you read The Atlantic and The New Yorker? More news analysis then news, but there’s interesting stuff there.
El País has an English version.

The Guardian has free access
Most of the main news agencies are beyond biased and captured-by corporations and government interests-from promoting wars-to unbridled immigration- that countries can’t support as already in crisis with no affordable housing or their medical systems straining.
Some great independent journalism exists on Substack-for instance Glenn Greenwald,Seymour Hersch-both Pulitzer Prize winners and Matt Tiabai ,who left the Rolling Stone because it was so obviously a shill for the usual suspects.
I find World in Context by Lena Petrova and Eurodollar University American websites interesting for economic and financial affairs within and without the US
All the best journalists write independently of all editorial diktats on Substack.
I second the Guardian and the, to a lesser extent, the UK-based The. Independent.
For US sources may I suggest some Substacks — Heather Cox Richardson, for historical perspective, Joyce White Vance for clear legal analysis and a new one I haven’t yet delved into thoroughly, The Contrarian, started recently by attorney and former Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin (she describes herself as “conservative” but I find her more rational and realistic than conservative) and former White House ethics advisor and ex-CNN analyst Norm Eisen. The Bulwark, another conservative -leaning newsletter, is another one this liberal can’t afford to subscribe to, but I read their free content.
There are so many other good Substacks, but at $60-100 a year, how many can you subscribe to? Many do have free options, with extra content for paid subscribers.
For solid US political reporting, I also recommend Talking Points Memo, one of the best websites for political analysis and investigations. I’m an original paid subscriber, going back over 10 years. Josh Marshall is both a Ph.D historian and a journalist; he started this about 20+ years ago.
Hope these suggestions help.
Nicole I am going to check out beehiv. i have seen so many complaints about substack people getting charged for free subs and even after they cancel. Hideous customer support…ie none. Beehiv is getting a lot of coverage now.
I’m really intrigued by Serbia, about which Marjorie wrote three times in recent years, and last time scratched the surface with the upcoming “major headache” Pluto transits: it is now opposing Mars (which is in Leo), then will touch the Mars–Saturn midpoint, then touch the fifth-house cusp, oppose Saturn, square Venus, conjunct Chiron, then square Jupiter. It will be 2030 when Pluto touches 10° Aquarius (Serbia’s Jupiter, ruler of her third house, is 10° Scoripio). Pluto rules Serbia’s second house.
If only turmoil would stop in some parts of the world…
Hi Marjorie, could you please give your view on intercepted signs? I have Aries and Libra intercepted in the 12th and 6th houses in my natal chart (with my sun in Libra) with Cancer ruling my 3rd and 4th houses and Capricorn my 9th and 10th. Many thanks
I have that as well! Except for house placement. Aries and Libra are intercepted in my 10th and 4th houses 🙂
If Marjorie cannot respond, Lynn Koiner did a good write up on this several years ago.
Hi Sorry, scrambled for time and I don’t work with intercepted signs. Below might be helpful.
An intercepted sign in an astrological chart is a zodiac sign that does not rule any house due to the method of house division used. This phenomenon generally occurs in unequal house systems, such as the Placidus system, for example.
In other words, interception occurs when there is no cusp (which is the beginning of a house) within a sign.
It can also be said that if a house spans more than 30 degrees and contains more than one entire sign, then the latter is intercepted since it does not have a cusp within it.Planet-inspired home decorHouse energy cleansing services
Interpretation
In psychological astrology, it is believed that an intercepted sign manifests in a more indirect or weakened manner.
Each intercepted sign may indicate an area of life where an individual might encounter challenges, delays, or blockages. For example, an intercepted Aries might signify difficulties in initiating actions or asserting independence.
Can you do Schrödinger chart ? His physic and philosophical approach to life is fascinating and changed the science world. His private life seems to be different. He got in trouble demanding to have accomodation in the university both to his wife and his mistress.
Initially read this as “Schrödinger’s cat”.
I’m sure Marjorie can and cannot until you look at the site!
Very droll!
Hello Marjorie
Thanks for all your good work
In light of the recent polling showing very few people now believe Brexit was a good idea, to say the least, I wonder if the future of UK and Europe is worth a look? UK is a cork bobbing along in a world of powerful blocks, are we alligned with grim spectacle of Trumps circus, or Europe or in some probably foolish idea of trying to allign with both? My gut says Europe but I wonder what Europe thinks of Trump and its appetite to face up to him? Ukraine will probaby resolve this year and the Russian energy spiggot may be back on, but any closer link to Russia would probably incur the wrath of the orange mussolini? Complex but compelling.
@Gamal, I think Europe in general is appalled by Trump. Some may have forgotten how he was during the first term or that there were “adults in the room” that time. But it’s dawning to them now, with Trump truly going through with higher tariffs to Canada and Mexico than China, and threatening the EU with the same.
Thanks Solaia
Agreed. But how does Europe deal with him? He is a malevolent and ugly reality. My tuppence worth is UK and Europe stand up to him and look after their own interests until he has moved on and we can hopefully deal with a rational and sane president in future. The astrology will be interesting I suspect.
Appalled, or is he also being championed, maybe not by politicans, who are worried for their own seats, by a whole slew or people who championing him for thinking he is tossing away the rampant political hipocrisy and saying it as it is? Nevermind them probably being deceived, but let’s not kid ourselves that people are fed up by being lied to, used, and cannot taking it anymore with the lack of honesty and fairness.

Thanks.
@Amelia Pettyfor
@JB.
@Marjorie,
I agree, but my point is that most of the billionaires before Musk have only contributed to campaigns because they wanted fat tax cuts in return.
@Jennifer,
The Democrats have been focusing on the confirmation hearings and yes they are shell shocked because Trump is ‘flooding the zone’.
Politico has an accurate report on the issues https://www.politico.com/news/2025/02/01/musk-claims-doge-lax-treasury-00201946
@Patritius
The whisper network over here says it is a coup in process.
https://apnews.com/article/donald-trump-elon-musk-doge-treasury-5e26cc80fcb766981cea56afd57ae759
None of these Doge people are vetted.

Pluto in Aquarius?
There is an article on Wiki titled “2025 Yugosphere retail boycots”.

You might find this a useful starting point…

Thanks
