USPS Post – the pony express hobbled

The US Postal Service (USPS) has warned that millions of mail-in votes may not arrive in time to be counted on the presidential election day. A record number of people are expected to vote by mail due to the pandemic. Trump said he was blocking additional funding for the USPS to help with election issues, because he opposed mail-in voting. He says it will lead to voting fraud; experts say the voting system is safe from tampering.

The USPS was founded 1 July 1971 in Washington and has an inventive Cancer Sun square Uranus; with a helpful though not entirely practical Saturn opposition Neptune Jupiter; and an excitable Venus trine Mars and square Pluto. The Cancer Sun certainly fits with a public service outfit. The chart is uncertain and panicked now till late August, nervy and confused in September and less than enthusiastic from October through till late January 2021.

Louis Dejoy, 20 June 1957, businessman and major Republican fundraiser was appointed postmaster general and CEO, taking up office in June 2020.

He’s a final degree Gemini Sun square Jupiter and trine Neptune, sextile Pluto – so stratospheric ambitions. His Mars in Cancer conjunct Uranus are in a can-be-fanatical, volatile square to Neptune. He has four planets at anaretic final degrees – Sun, Mars, Neptune – and Pluto only one degree away. They point in general to the end of a cycle which may be significant as he joins wrecking-ball Trump in pulling an old house of cards down.

He looks amped up exactly now till late September with tr Uranus trine his Jupiter/Pluto midpoint; though he’ll be less bullish through September with an uncertain tr Neptune opposition his Sun/Saturn midpoint and nerve-stretched and paralysed through October. Tr Pluto is also in a confident, success-bringing trine to his Jupiter and sextile his Solar Arc Jupiter now till later this month and again late November to late December. The tr Saturn Jupiter exit from Capricorn will be in hard aspect to his Mars and Neptune and his Sun/Pluto midpoint from late November through December, which won’t bring unmitigated celebration. But his Jupiter will probably keep him afloat. His 2021 looks devastatingly bad with his Solar Arc Pluto conjunct his Neptune and square his Mars.

  1. Was checking the status of my online voter registration here in WA. I am in the machine. ALso discovred that I am not only allowed to print my ballot online (when they become available) but that I can also vote online. What a concept! I’ll work the system as it offers.

However, AndyB does post sound astro arguments for Trump winning. Dictatorship and suppression of democracy. Gonna be a long slog if that comes to be.

  2. The most devastating argument against these shenanigans I’ve seen came from a retired general, speaking on behalf of veterans, who largely receive medical prescriptions by mail so the military can save costs. If you’re an elderly veteran, you may be missing life-saving days of a vitally needed medicine. Many of the large health insurance organizations also mail drugs to members. Trump really did not think this through.

    • He didn’t have to. NPD equates to “all about me”. Same with Hoarders. Mountains of cereal boxes simply must be held onto…just because. It’s inbred; it’s genetic. Not a good place to be healthwise.

President Two-Scoops issued regulatory complaints this week because shower head water pressure messed with his “coiffure”.

From Catch-22, we have the character Milo Minderbinder. His most interesting attributes are his complete amorality without self-awareness, and his circular logicality in running his Syndicate.

  3. Was adding to my store of trivial knowledge. Mail-in Votes are considered bulk mail. 22 cents’ worth of priority. However, if one sticks a forever stamp (55 cents) on the mail-in ballot, the stamp provides higher priority = First Class Mail. Pattern recognition s/w was easy to implement…that’s how addresses are read from the mail.

It’s all in the details 😉

  4. I’m sorry this question is not about astrology, but can someone tell me just how the hell can he be allowed to do this? Everything about this man screams ‘dictator’.

    • Trump allows most dissidents to live. He was voted into ofice, as was (ahem) Hitler.

From wiki, “The 1933 election followed the previous year’s two elections (July and November) and Hitler’s appointment as Chancellor. In the months before the 1933 election, brownshirts and SS displayed “terror, repression and propaganda […] across the land”,and Nazi organizations “monitored” the vote process. In Prussia 50,000 members of the SS, SA and Der Stahlhelm were ordered to monitor the votes by acting Interior Minister Hermann Göring, as auxiliary police.”

“Two weeks after the election, Hitler was able to pass an Enabling Act on 23 March with the support of all non-socialist parties, which effectively gave Hitler dictatorial powers.”

The GOP wants to “monitor the election process”. I wonder what color the uniforms will be…How ironic that history repeats itself yet no one learns from it.

      • Looks like Uranus in Taurus 1934-41 repeating on us.

If Trump owned a horse, it would be Consul by now and eating hay from an ivory manger.

  5. The USPS Mercury at 21 Cancer of the 1971 chart puts it in the range of opposition with the current late Capricorn transits. So, no surprises there. Chiron is also currently at 8 Aries; thus a Chiron return for the org, with its Chiron at 13 Aries, is pending.

  6. Thanks Marjorie. This is quite a surreal situation. I was thinking just how many popular American songs have been written about the post, and letters over the decades. It’s so much a part of American social history.

I wonder what you think about the day Benjamin Franklin was appointed as the first Postmaster General? This was 26th July, 1775. A quick look at the planets for that day shows Neptune at 20 Virgo, and Pluto at 25 Capricorn – close to the US founding date chart, but the previous year obviously. The big changes for both the US as a whole and the USPS are linked. This date has Mercury retrograde at 12 Leo, with a 2 degree Leo Sun that will be opposed by Saturn and Jupiter in a few months. Then Uranus square that Mercury next year too.

Can’t help wondering what Benjamin Franklin would be thinking now!

  7. I think this is another instance showing general Administrative disaster behind DJT. Trump Admin definitely wants to surpress voting in 2020, but I think they haven’t thought it through. For instance, due to backwardness of The US banking system, Social Security is largely received by mail. This will affect 65 million people, and 9 in 10 people over 65. Even the famous “Trump Check” was sent by post. So, saving USPS at least until better ways with dealing with this can become a major talking point as elections near.

Astrologically, I think this tendency to not think the things through Trump Admin has is demostrated by Jupiter in 6th square MC and opposing 12th house Uranus on Inaugurational Chart. Current – and last – Solar Return for this Inauguration chart has Moon/Mars in 12th house squaring Neptune also clearly showing the mood right now.

    • Solaia – many SSN recipients continue to use the mail system but many, like myself, use direct deposit as this enures delivery and deposit more quickly. Same context with depositing checks from the job – direct deposit works but many defer to mail…and some will accept only cash from their employers. We’re a country of contrasts.

      • @larryc, yes, in EU, at least, this is practically unheard of nowadays due to anti-money lauder acts. You can’t send money by mail, and there seem to be some procedures on tokens corrisponding to money, including checks, by mail, too. Banks are held, by law, to provide a bank account at least in some countries (haven’t checked if this is universial). In some countries, mostly in Southern Europe, there are still “Postal Banks” dealing with these functions. In Nordic Countries, banks and postal service were separated in the 1980’s and 1990’s. In Finland, the banking side went bankrupt in few, short years. Postal service is bit of a disgrace these days, too, TBH, but ballots have always arrived. Incidently, I also heard “Trump Checks” arrived here by mail to US Citizens and double citizens. I talked to a relative who has been living in Europe since late 1990’s and he said this was the first check he’d handled on this side of the bond since coming over (I remember using traveller’s checks in the early 1990’s, by 1995-1996 I had a bank card I could use globally).

  8. Very interesting analysis.

It’s encouraging, at least, to see that Louis Dejoy’s antics may not have the full desired effect he’s anticipating.

Also, isn’t Saturn supposed to be opposing Trump’s natal Venus soon? If I remember correctly, it was supposed to be around mid-August (which is now, actually). I would imagine this aspect alone could indicate Trump losing more popularity and support.

Given how millions of Americans (regardless of political party affiliation) support and depend on the U.S. Postal Service for all kinds of necessities and services such as: social security checks, medications, bills, mail ballots, etc. I could definitely see how tampering with the USPS could backfire.
