The attempted assassination of Donald Trump for reasons unknown by a 20 year old apparently Republican-registered shooter has been taken as a critical moment in the election run-up with an iconic fist-pumping photograph of Trump going viral.
Two astrological influences were spot on. Firstly the transiting Uranus, Mars, Algol of the moment was exactly square Trump’s bombastic Mars in Leo which usually accompanies a shock and a resulting over-reaction. It tends to be explosive whether in producing accidents, collisions of sorts, or even heart-related incidents in older individuals with a subsequent wild response to an experience which threatens to dent self-esteem. The same Uranus transit to his Mars returns throughout this October and again late April to mid May 2025.
The other, on the USA chart is the Solar Arc Saturn being exactly conjunct the USA Mars, exact to a minute of a degree on the 11am chart. This is the start of a three year run of the two key squares in the USA chart colliding. The Solar Arc Sun square SA Saturn crashes into the USA Mars square Neptune. Usually when this happens it is a phase of rolling crises. The last time was between 1935 and 1939.
Firstly there is the accident/assassination prone SA Saturn on Mars exactly now; then an uncertain, panicky SA Saturn square USA Neptune in 2025; an angry, collision-type event or series thereof in 2026 from SA Sun square the USA Mars; and a lacklustre, undermining opposition to the Neptune in 2027.
On the Sibly USA chart the Solar Arc Mars is exactly conjunct the Moon now – and both will be jolted by tr Uranus square in this August.
Horrifying though this incident is, the USA has a long history of political assassinations with four sitting presidents shot dead and failed attempts to shoot several more. A similar attempt to this one occurred in 1912 when “Teddy” Roosevelt was running for a non-consecutive second term as president. He continued giving his speech with blood soaking through his shirt which consolidated his reputation for bravado but it was not enough to win him re-election.
On Trump’s chart tr Jupiter and tr Uranus are now moving across his 10th house. Jupiter stays there till June 2025 and is usually a high profile time which can be successful or catch headlines for other reasons. Tr Jupiter is conjunct his 10th house Uranus in late November which should provide a lucky break in a minor way. Tr Uranus hints at a change of direction in his career/life (assuming the birth time is accurate) and runs on for years ahead.
Apart from transiting Neptune hard aspects to two of his Mercury midpoints now till early October there is not much else showing in his chart – they will affect his concentration and perhaps give rise to more evasiveness than usual. January 2025 looks like an uphill slog for him. By the election his Solar Arc Neptune is exactly conjunct his South Node, moving on in 2025/26 to conjunct his Moon and oppose his Sun – he’ll either be dissolving into a fog of confusion or be exhibiting the worst of his delusional leanings.
Of those closest to him – both Donald Trump Jnr and Lara Trump have confidently upbeat transits to a Jupiter midpoint late this December to mid March 2025. Though Eric Trump and Barron are showing extreme frustration and disappointment. Nothing conclusive out of that.
The Inauguration chart for 2025 is nothing like as tricky as for 2021.

ADD ON: According to electoral registration the shooter Thomas Crooks was born 20 September 2003 making him a Sun Virgo with Mars in Pisces conjunct Uranus in last degree Aquarius opposition his Jupiter – an excitable, impulsive temperament. His Pluto in Sagittarius which is in an overly intense square to his Mercury is exactly opposition Trump’s Uranus giving him a desire to shift DT’s trajectory. A news site has questioned why there has been no official statement re Trump’s condition from the doctors that treated him. The Trump campaign is also remaining mum on the subject. Odd that there’s no follow-up re his condition. As a citizen, I would like to hear from the medical team whether it was shrapnel from a broken teleprompter or whether the ear was bleeding due to a bullet. There’s conflicting accounts. Also, want to hear from the docs regarding the prognosis because this can cause other issues to arise, such as tinnitus.

Trump has a Pluto/Saturn midpoint at 1 Leo. This was being opposed by Pluto at the time of the assassination attempt but he had Venus conjunct the midpoint which possibly indicates why he escaped serious injury. The pressure on that midpoint remains and is going to be particularly intense on 3 January 2025 when Pluto at 1 Aquarius opposes Mars at 1 Leo.

Transiting Pluto at 1 Aquarius aligns with fixed star Altair, in the Constellation of Aquila, the Eagle. I’ve been curious about this for a while, since the Eagle is a symbol of the USA. Brady writes:
“The eagle was the royal bird of Rome, and a symbol of male sovereignty. A modern country that has adopted this emblem is the USA, which has shown over the years its ability to bring down fire from the sky as an act of war probably more powerfully than any other country.”
Altair is the alpha star in this constellation, the bird of Jupiter/Zeus, associated with fire, power, courage and determination but also bloodshed.
Bearing in mind Trump’s ear was injured, there’s also a curious nugget from Vedic astrology:

Moon Mansions divide the ecliptic into 27 or 28 sections. Each is linked to a fixed star or constellation.
The eagle is also an important bird for Albania (Shqipëria). And why some thing USA has Scoprio Rising, I think Neptune Cafe, because there are associations there as well with the eagle.
The eagle also appears on the emblems of many Balkan countries (who get it from the Byzantine Empire, who in turn got it from Rome) and other countries like Mexico.
I wonder if they will be impacted by this placement.

Replying to EA and UMM – you can read more in depth about Altair and Aquila at the very informative Constellations of Words website. It is an arcane treasure trove! Also Bernadette Brady’s Book of Fixed Stars is great, modern, and includes some history and mythology.
As for locations linked to 1 Aquarius, Altair, and Pluto’s transit, it could be something to watch. Pluto alone is probably enough, but I think the fixed stars seem to amplify the effects of a planet’s transits. And maybe have their own stories to tell us?
Worth noting, I think, is Ukraine’s Sun, 1 Aquarius.

Incidentally, both Alexander I of Russia as well as Ivan The Terrible have Pluto on Altair within 1 degree.
Note also that Mars ingresses into Leo on Tuesday November 5th, the day of the US election. (Venus that day is 21 Sagittarius right on Trump’s Moon, Jupiter is on his NN 20 Gemini and opposite his Moon)
There is a Pluto Mars opposition on 3 November 2024 as well with Pluto at 29 Capricorn and Mars at 29 Cancer. In fact the planets face off three times between November 2024 and April 2025. This is in part due to a lengthy Mars retrograde from December 2024 when the planet tracks back from Leo as far as 17 Cancer. Mars will be retrograde when it makes that second opposition exact on Trump’s Pluto Saturn midpoint. This is going to be a tense time and not just for the USA as the Pluto/Mars oppositions will be very close to the Pluto/Mercury opposition in the new UK Labour government chart.
Just to add that Mars enters Leo on 4 November 2024 just before the US election day, turns retrograde on 6 December 2024 at 6 Leo and then ingresses back into Cancer on 6 January 2025.

Hugh and VF – if you look at the chart for the first Presidential inauguration, April 30th 1789, there’s Uranus at 1 Leo. The UK’s legal or leadership Jupiter is also 1 Leo, part of the yod with Pluto and Uranus. Quite a few patterns seem be emerging with the Leo/Aquarius axis and Pluto. Mars Rx in Leo opposes Pluto in Aquarius at the end of December, beginning of January 2025. On January 1st, the Moon enters Aquarius too. The Nodes will have reached ‘world point’ degree 0 Aries by then, perhaps adding to the Aquarian idea of groups and associations of people? On 11th January they enter Pisces.

Well, yes. Forgive me for derailing but all is not good in the state of Montecito. They were booed at the Pat Tillman award ceremony, then rudely left half way through after he’d accepted the award. He looks increasingly unhappy to me and he’s also now caught up in various lawsuits with the British press including The Sun with allegations that he deleted important messages/evidence. The Lunar Eclipse of March 2024- at 5 Libra sat right on Crooks Venus. The upcoming Lunar Eclipse @ 26 Pisces will oppose his Sun. Eclipses can stir the cauldron of deep unexpressed emotions. Inclined to agree. The first thought that went through my head was a disturbed, zero self-esteem young man looking for his five minutes of fame before suiciding. Trump was the nearest thing to celebrity within his reach. May be wrong but for what it is worth.
He was very young to have a strong political ideology, and was an outcast at school, addicted to video games (stereotypical mass shooter) and was “disappointed” that they wouldn’t allow him to join the Gun Club at school, because at the time his shooting score wasn’t to their standards.
Maybe his motive was as simple as John Hinckley’s, but instead of impressing Jodie Foster, thought he would show the Gun Club just how good he was, because if Trump hadn’t turned his head when he did, the bullet would have gone through his ear instead of nicking it.

Any thoughts on the FBI / secret service? I imagine many will be called to answer for the glaring lapses in surveillance and efficiency that were exposed in the failed assassination.
The shooter had unimpeded access to a nearby rooftop. Members of the nearby crowd were shouting and pointing, also attempting to directly alert security to the suspicious rooftop activity of a man with a rifle. No drone spotted him as he positioned himself in such a visible spot.
An astonishing six shots, were made before the hesitant sharp shooter intervened.
Only three of the agents were tall enough to actually block shots.
The one of the agents was fumbling with her sunglasses while clenching Trump. Her fellow colleague later had difficulty with her firearm, struggling to holster it. One agent ducked for cover rather than surrounding her charge as the others had been trained to do.
All the agents left his head exposed after he rose.
This was certainly not their best effort, that’s for sure.

For informationsl background, the Secret Service and local police were in charge of security. The FBI has no responsibility for presidential security but is the lead agency in the investigation.
The Secret Service has been seriously troubled for over 10 years and was heavily criticized for lax security and behavioral issues, especially drunkenness and misbehavior while on duty, under Obama and later for.agents becoming too close to and supportive of Trump. One senior agent became a political operative for him, a breach of protocol. The last director was fired. Many agents became effectively an extension of Trump’s campaign. When Biden came in he cleaned out the Trump loyalists from the White House presidential detail whose previously nonpartisan character was tainted under Trump.
I heard a reporter on NPR speculate that the Trump campaign may have requested less stringent security at the rally to allow him to connect more closely with “his people,” as he did at the Capital on January 6th.

If what you say is true (aside from the wild speculation heard on the NPR), the most recent partisan purge of the SS could have played a major part in the shocking and deadly failure in security.
Additionally, the SS director (Biden appointment, Kimberly A. Cheatle) has stated goals of achieving 30% female recruits.
If those inept agents on the podium gained their places by quota rather than merit, it could explain this appalling lapse.
One agent clearly cowered behind the protective scrum and was visibly panicked. I doubt she was the top of her class.
In April an agent, Michelle Herczeg, recently had a breakdown. She had to be restrained and disarmed by her colleagues following an assault to her superior. Later relieved of duty.
Another agent lost her position after stating on social media that she wouldn’t take a bullet for Trump.

As I recall under Obama there were issues of anti-Black racism, leaving Obama and his family more at risk. And then there were the well-documented reports of SS agents partying while on advance trips in South America, leading to several agents being sent home for excessive public drunkenness and cavorting with prostitutes.
From a total outsider’s perspective, I think the agency suffers from an institutional “good old boy” problem and has long needed an overhaul, which this incident may finally produce. They probably need to bring in an outsider rather than the usual promote-from-within practice, so typical of law enforcement, to get rid of the deadwood and change the culture.

Neptune is currently aligned with Scheat, 29 Pisces, in the constellation Pegasus. A complicated star, it can give creativity and intellect, plus an ability to “fly” over difficulties. But as Pegasus soars upwards, his over-confident rider falls to earth in the myths. So Scheat is also associated with plane crashes, accidents at sea, murder, and extreme misfortune. Currently, this Neptune/Scheat blend is on the transiting Saturn/Nodes midpoint, emphasising alliances and ties of every kind, but also difficulties, disappointments and restrictions with others.

The USA Civil War chart, 12 April, 1861, has 27 Pisces ascendant, and Neptune 29 Pisces, which could underline the sensitivity of late Pisces for the USA in general. Civil war need not be a literal event. Perhaps that Neptune return reminder, allied with Scheat and the midpoints, is working itself out through divisions, illusions, and sporadic eruptions of anger or violence – such as we’re seeing now?
Interesting that Thomas Crooks has Mars conjunct Uranus in his natal chart and carried out his attempted assassination during transiting Mars conjunct Uranus.
People are running conspiracy theories but bear in mind that this was in rural Pennsylvania where folks just aren’t exposed to regular violence, so security lapses with local law enforcement aren’t unheard of. Small towns are generally slow and calm. Their law enforcement agencies aren’t highly trained and highly seasoned. I can see how the earliest of alerts were sort of missed.
Having said that, I suspect Crooks was gay or trans and yes, triggered by Project 2025 being pumped into social media feeds non stop.

Trump security was warned about gunman four minutes before shooting, witness claims
Donald Trump’s security was warned about a gunman on a roof “three or four minutes” before shots were fired at the former president’s rally, an eyewitness claims.
The man, who was outside the grounds of the event, said he and his friends frantically drew the attention of the police when they noticed a person crawling onto a rooftop with a rifle while Trump was onstage in Pennsylvania.
He claimed that minutes later, the gunman was still in position and managed to fire five times before the secret service “blew his head off”.
The account will raise questions about how security lapses at the rally, where Trump – who is expected to be formally named the Republican candidate for president on Wednesday – was pictured with blood streaming from his ear.

I was listening to BBC radio while they were interviewing witnesses and members of the crowd in the aftermath last night. Someone in the crowd shouted at the BBC guy to ‘show some respect’ and seemed to want to silence the reporter. One man was rather graphic in his account of how the ‘shooter’s head was blown right off by SS.’ So there was Algol’s influence again, the demon star of Perseus. The reporter then apologised profusely to listeners for the gory nature of the man’s account, the parental, nannyish Beeb contrasting somewhat ridiculously with the grim reality and raw chaos of the situation.
So strange. And when secret service got to Trump, it was like a group hug. Normally each officer faces outward to protect the person. Sort of like a ring.
Composite mid-point chart for Trump and Crooks(providing dob is correct) has the composite Sun/Mercury conjunct at 10 Leo. The composite Pluto is in Libra square Saturn in Cancer. The composite Uranus is in Aries. There is lots of Cardinal energy. The composite Mars is at 28 Taurus opposing a composite Chiron at 28 Scorpio. The latter was doubtless triggered by the transiting Mars/Uranus/Algol conjunction. The composite Uranus in Aries and the composite Chiron in Scorpio have overtones of Mars and blood.
This Mars-Uranus-Algol passage is really nasty. I’m wondering, though, whether the effects of the events that have taken place will be what is considered the “likeliest” outcome.
For instance, I’m reading many comments on how the assassination attempt will benefit Trump and Republicans in general. This is my instinct, too. However, nobody seems to be thinking about the effects the event has on Trump. Even, or especially since, he is a narcissist, this must ultimately leave him shaken, even if his shock reaction made him look strong. To my knowledge, he hasn’t, for instance, picked his VP yet. I feel that with these happenings, he is even less likely to act strategically, when the pick will seem more important now than ever.
Solaia, I agree there may be other effects on Trump which have not been seen so far.
Other than Trump using it to create yet another photo-op, which was both gutsy and extraordinarily foolish with the breach in security exposed and the resulting chaos, moments like these as memories in the public consciousness in America are notoriously short-lived.
The main piece is that Trump lived and wasn’t disfigured. Had worse happened, the long term ramifications and calculus might be different. I’m not even certain this has an impact on the RNC this week. It was already going to be a coronation-love fest formality for him.
I would guess that few people’ are even thinking about this particular incident when they go to the polls come early November. There’s still three and a half months left on the clock after all.

My gut feeling is that this will make Trump even more deranged, more focused on retribution (which he’ll talk about even more) and less appealing to independent/swing voters. The “retribution list” has already leaked and it’s a doozy. It contains the names of most prominent Democrats and elected officials as well as Republicans deemed disloyal to Trump, including, interestingly, Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
Do Americans really want Trump’s opponents, including former presidents and their wives, rounded up for “treason” to him and thrown in prison? I think that’s a bridge too far.
Jared is on it? Oh my!! I think April’s eclipse is currently making a hit to his Cap sun. Maybe that means that Ivanka won’t be the VP pick. Is there any relevant Astro for Ivanka? Also rumor that Lara Trump will be the VP pick. I think Marjorie wrote that she is in a good period from now until after the election. But I agree that the retribution list will upset a lot or voters. I think most people want calm and stability and not chaos and mayhem.

Not necessarily astrological but the shock of being shot at…has this level of unintended consequence.
@Sandra Jones, it seems Crooks was wearing a pro-gun YT channel t-shirt. This is one thing older and foreign commentators often seem to miss. Many American teens, while generally speaking “Liberal”, may actually be gun enthusiasts, and this will be a gateway to overall conservative material and even conspiracy sphere.

It’s hard to believe that they do … but America puts weapons within the reach of almost everybody and three States have now approved the distribution of ammunition via slot machines. I wonder if that episode (of talk of stuffing the SCOTUS bench and that dying down because of a change of heart by some justices) will repeat itself again too.

If I’m not mistaken there’s a yod in his chart pointing at Neptune in Aqua with inconjuncts to Saturn in Cancer and Mercury in Virgo – all quite tight.
Also a possible second yod going to the Saturn in Cancer with the Pluto in Sag sextiling the Neptune in Aqua at 7degs.
And therefore the Pluto in Sag is square the Mercury in Virgo.
Virgo sun at 27-28deg will have been taking the transit from Neptune the past couple of years.
