Standing back from the apocalyptic panic of the moment egged on by a sensationalist media and general population jitters, it is as well to remember that the cauldron of history is and always has been constantly bubbling. What seems insupportable now has been worse before and life moved one.
Astrology does give broad sweep indicators – viz. recently the UK jolted and jangled through Uranus in Taurus impacting its wide Fixed Grand Cross and managed to rollick through five prime ministers in that time.
What the USA faces ahead is largely Neptunian until 2032 with a few extras (below). Tr Neptune will square the US financial Venus from late this month, continuing on to further dent confidence in cash and self-assurance when it squares Jupiter in 2027 to early 2028; with a final undermining square to the US Cancer Sun mid 2030 to early 2032.
Adding to the drift and indecision will be the Solar Arc Sun square the US Neptune, exact in later 2027, which ends a nerve-stretched and destructive phase from mid 2024 (SA Saturn conjunct Mars and square Neptune).
2027 may be a key year since it sees the start of two years of tr Pluto opposition the USA ‘leadership’ Leo North Node bringing a reckoning with the past. The USA North Node was severely dented by tr Neptune in opposition at 9/11. It did not point to an attack as much as coinciding with a sense of national humiliation.
There is, of course the Uranus Return July 2027 to mid 2028, around at the start of the American Civil War and the aftermath of Pearl Harbour. But history never repeats itself exactly, nor does astrology. You can’t step into the same river twice. There are always different influences from other planets. It will be significant but in a different way.
The 2028 election looks gridlocked and to a degree despairing with a yod of Pluto sextile Neptune inconjunct Mars and a bitterly argumentative Mercury square Pluto. The 2029 Inauguration won’t be as dictatorial as the 2025 Inauguration but will be volatile with a 10th house Pluto trine Uranus trine Mars, with Mars opposition Moon Neptune. Some changes pushed through, some risk and a confused, disillusioned electorate. There is also Saturn square Pluto for hardship, deprivation, a tough struggle which may be financial.
The 2032 election has tr Uranus Saturn in Cancer square Mars – excitable, with tensions surfacing. Though a chance to push for positive changes – Uranus conjunct Saturn = merging the best of the old with the best of the new.
The 2033 Inauguration is much more upbeat with a super-confident Jupiter Pluto Sun in the 10th. Admittedly there will be some bully-boy behaviour and frustration from Mars in the 7th house of allies/enemies square Pluto. Tr Uranus Saturn will be moving during this term across the USA Venus, Jupiter, Saturn so again pushing for change.
For what it is worth, the war-mongering Saturn square Pluto may not involve a war. See previous posts (below) and if there are, my suspicion might be they will be Middle Eastern rather than in the west.

Any insights into Sunday’s Ides of March?
I don’t see a Civil War in the US either, but perhaps a long-overdue restructuring driven by economic necessity. I have long suspected that this time period would coincide with the end of the US Dollar as the global reserve currency and all that it entails for the country. While it is notoriously difficult to predict the origin and course of Uranian events, the entire Uranus in Gemini period coinciding with the US Uranus Return will almost certainly involve some impetus for the US to rearrange itself and its priorities, as previous such transits have done.
During the previous Uranus Return, the US was near its zenith in economic might and national coherence, even as the Great Depression was unfolding. I largely attribute America’s strength at this time to an empowering transiting Pluto-natal Sun conjunction in Cancer that was exact during the late 1920s. Despite facing many crises that collectively constituted a “long emergency,” the country nevertheless dug deep and marshaled significant resources and collective willpower to survive.
Much more recently, the US experienced the opposition to its natal Cancer Sun, in 2014-15, from Pluto in Capricorn. Literally outside conspiratorial wealth and power sought to take over the country and succeeded in doing so with Trump’s election to the Presidency that following year. After 10 years of this corrupt madman pervading its politics, the US has seen a sharp decline in its stature among nations and seems headed now for a nadir.
The US is now at the end of its “superpower” days and of Empire, and I think Iran will historically be for it was Suez was for the UK.
Honestly, while I believe the Democratic Party will win the midterms this year and in 2028 rather decisively, they will undoubtedly be tasked with the difficult job of cleaning up the corruption of Trump and his government while seeking to repair so many of the United States’ relationships with other countries that will be threadbare if that by then. The disillusionment that you see in 2029, Marjorie, is likely to be caused by a growing, widespread awareness and realization of what all has been lost under this regime.
Soon enough, Trump will be gone, but his odious stench and the memories of the chaos that he caused throughout the world will long outlive him in the annals of history.
A Pluto in Aquarius square Saturn in Taurus in 2028 looks to have financial ramifications with a potential restructuring of the financial system and possible limitations on spending by governments and individuals. The US Sibley progressed Mars is going to be conjunct the US natal Saturn in the 2030s and the progressed North Node will be moving to conjunct the natal retrograde Mercury. The former suggest restrictions on external war like behaviour by the USA with effort more likely directed at long term internal reconstruction. The latter suggests a big shift in the way information is processed and communicated.
