UK Politics – Green Polanski, Jaunty Farage

On the merry-go-round of UK politics Zack Polanski is the new face of the Green Party. He already sits on the London Assembly, scrutinising the activities of the London mayor. But he has ambitions to join the four Green MPs in Westminster And to be a threat to both Labour and Reform UK. He wants to offer a different approach with policies that include a wealth tax on billionaires and renationalising water companies.  He has  defended his party’s manifesto proposals, rejecting claims they would blow a £170 billion hole in the public finances, requiring tax rises on scale each year.

He said “We can’t come at this conversation just about the economy – it has to be about our mental health, our wellbeing and physical health of the nation.”

He has labelled his political views as eco-populist, combining environmental politics and populism and says people are unable to consider the climate crisis if they are struggling with day-to-day material concerns such as high rent burden, and high costs of food or heating. He dismisses the argument that wealth tax would drive the rich abroad, pointing out the Duke of Westminster can hardly upsticks and leave. And says “If you’re a farmer – 80% of subsidies go to the wealthiest 20% of landowners.

He believes that the Gaza war is a genocide and should be treated as such by the UK Government. He advocates the UK’s withdrawal from NATO eventually and instead to establish  organisations that prioritise European defence, democracy, diplomacy and international peace.

He is gay, vegan and currently lives in London with his partner who works in palliative care.

Born 2 November 1982 Salford, England, he is a determined and persuasive Sun Venus and Jupiter in Scorpio; with a tough-minded Saturn, Pluto, Mercury in Libra and a publicity attracting Neptune Mars conjunction.

He is not looking too upbeat ahead with tr Saturn and tr Neptune square his Mars now and through 2026 which will be undermining and discouraging; with confusion and lacklustre influences in 2027.

There are a variety off start dates for the Green Party. But 13 June 1985 equally hints at a droopy 2026 into 2027.

Nigel Farage, 3 April 1964 4.30pm Farnborough, England, who has been riding high recently with Jupiter moving across his 10th house will have a few emotional upsets, missteps and jolts across the winter with tr Uranus conjunct his Venus. Followed by a definite sense of panic as tr Neptune starts to conjunct his Mars from June 2026 through 2027. There are indication of a changes of career direction after mid 2026 as tr Uranus starts to move across his Midheaven which is not always a negative. But that coincides with a creeping sense of failure and discouragement with his confidence taking a dent into 2027.

The Reform Party, 23 November 2018, will be on a roller coaster ahead as tr Uranus opposes the Sun Jupiter and then squares the Mars through 2026 – maybe some luck but more likely over confidence causing problems. 2027 looks like a flop.

  1. Without checking, Polanski born the same day as Channel 4 started! And the Saturn-Pluto conjunction about a week later when Brehznev died and set in motion the downfall of Soviet Union. Probably also connected to neoliberalism

  2. One would presume Reform Ltd’s cheerleaders in the media view it as the only way the extant Tories can trojan-horse their way back into power any time soon.

  3. Just took a peek at secondary progressions, where I am most interested in the Moon. Of the 1927 chart.

The Moon is finishing its passage through the UK’s 3rd house. It will now go over transiting Saturn and Neptune. Moon rules the 8th house, Saturn is 2nd, Neptune is co-ruler 3rd (intercepted Pisces).

All seems financial, 2nd income, 8th money of other people. Smells like those tax increases.

It will also be squaring Mars, it is 1° away from being within orb, so angry (Mars) population (Moon).

Then the Moon will go over the IC, and enter the 4th house, homeland, territory. Mars rules the 4th, so again something regarding that, a repeated theme.

    • Moon over the 2nd house ruler:

      – public attention turns towards money, income, resources, stability
      – people (Moon) may demand better wages, fairer distribution, relief from inflation
      – could involve currency reforms, economic policies, protests linked to costs of living
      – emotional tie (Moon) between the population (Moon) and national values/resources (2nd house) intensifies.

Moon over the 2nd house ruler:

      – collective mood (Moon) shifts towards debt, shared financial burdens, taxation, or economic vulnerability (Moon + 8th house)
      – often a time of financial reckoning: debts due, taxation reforms, negotiations with creditors
      – people may feel the weight of obligations, austerity, or sacrifices required.
      – on a deeper level (8th house) collective confrontation with mortality, crises, or national transformation.

So there is a financial storyline in the nation.

People move from focus on resources and income (2nd house) to awareness of debts and obligations (8th house).

A cycle where economic gains or concerns are followed by financial stress, debt crises, or restructuring.

Public sentiment may swing between hope for stability and fear of loss.

  4. I looked at the 1927 chart again, and I saw that almost at the same time (but check yourselves) there is a SA Mars on the MC and SA Jupiter on natal Mars.

Jupiter on Mars: an expansion of militarization, police activity? Taking bold or risky actions? A new assertiveness of the nation? Military campaigns? Large-scale mobilization? Intensified nationalistic enthusiasm?

It can also mean renewed drive, new infrastructure projects or overreach, escalation, or conflict.

Mars on MC can mean ruling class (MC) seen as forceful, combative, or militarized.

Government actions confrontational, decisive, maybe unpopular.

Public perception (MC) might be that the country is “on the attack” or “showing muscle”.

        • Didn’t want to go that Negative Nancy route, but yes, and I hope we won’t upset the energies, the 8th house is a house of national mourning and collective trauma. 8th is also loss, disaster, epidemic, war casualties.

Then I saw progresses ascendant reaching Chiron. So the image of the nation (AC) could highlight wounds and vulnerabilities (Chiron). The country internationally may be seen as injured, recovering, or marked by trauma. Old traumas may be revived in public discourse. The conjunction may bring situations that expose flaws or weak spots in country’s identity.

But also the nation may take on a healer role: position itself as a mediator, peacekeeper, or one who advocates for the wounded. The country may project compassion, mediation, or healing onto the world stage, born out of its own pain.

BTW, secondary-progressed MC is on the cusp of the 2nd house. More economy issues coming to the fore.

      • The charts for 2027-2028 are challenging to put it mildly, particularly for Britain. The UK 1801 progressed moon will be at 11 Scorpio in the Second House opposing the calamity prone UK 8th house Mars at 11 Taurus just before the Pluto/Saturn square at 8 Aquarius/8 Taurus on 28 June 2028. There are lots of nasty Pluto/Saturn/Mars aspects in the period from late 2027 through 2028.

  5. Thanks Marjorie. I noticed both Polanski and Farage connect with the 18 Scorpio UK Neptune in the house of values and finances. Farage’s natal Neptune trine Chiron, and Polanski’s Jupiter (possibly opposing his Taurus Moon). Arguably, both are good at influencing the crowd, both appear to avoid tedious notions of financial pragmatism. Hmmn, that sounds a bit like someone else currently on the world stage….

Interesting, too, that the way ahead doesn’t look exactly sunlit for either of them. I’ve long thought of Farage as a catalyst of some kind, and agree with Cal that he doesn’t want to be PM. Look what he achieved with UKIP, when he wasn’t even an MP. He enjoys the game, and that’s it. Polanski must know he will never be PM, but has ambitions to massively increase the number of Green MPs. At the same time, he suggests he’s open to a partnership of some kind with Jeremy Corbyn’s as yet unnamed ‘Your Party’ – they aren’t very interested in Green agendas on the environment though.

I looked at the post on Mahmood and Lammy, and see that for all these individuals 2026-7 isn’t looking too good. There’s a Solar Eclipse on the legislative UK Saturn in Leo in August 2026. Tr Saturn will conjunct the UK Aries North Node, and tr Jupiter in ‘leadership’ Leo conjuncts UK Saturn in the autumn of 2026. I’m wondering about the possibility of an early election. Or some other event, possibly involving the Royal Family, that requires a serious reset of some kind for the UK.

    • I find it very difficult to get perspective on all these political charts – what is an indication of the unstable world events that are very likely to continue and worsen over the next couple of years, and what is an indication of actual political fortune? Even if in power, it’s likely to be a bumpy ride – arguably more so than if an individual or a party isn’t in power.

      • Agree with you, LisaV that it is challenging to say the least. But unstable events always benefit some people. I’m thinking of the Covid pandemic, for instance. Many of us experienced grief, sickness, and financial difficulties. Others profited enormously, as we now know. The ‘fog’ of war also invariably benefits some unscrupulous individuals. And so on.
The Leo Solar Eclipse I mentioned is in Saros Series 10 South, according to Brady. She writes:

“This Saros Series concerns itself with breaking out of a very negative situation where no hope can be seen to a more positive space containing many options. …..The solution is shown by the Cosmos and needs to be taken up without too much delay.” (Bernadette Brady, Predictive Astrology, page 323)

        • The fog of war is not only favorable for unscrupulous people. It was clearly favorable for visionary or effective leaders like Churchill, De Gaulle or Eisenhower. There is such a thing as a noble warrior in a just war. Maybe we have to relearn that lesson. Some used to call it having a good war.

I am not surprised that lesser politicians will be having a hard time in coming years because it will be a time for grown-ups only. We are in Churchill’s gathering storm.

        • Just to add, and re losing faith in politicians as a whole: the MP’s expenses scandal of May 2009 – across all parties – did little to enhance their reputation. Tr Neptune opposed UK Leo Saturn that year. In February there was a Lunar Eclipse at 20 Leo, where next year’s Solar will be, focussing on our Saturn in Leo in the 11th house. In May, when the scandal hit the news, there was a Full Moon at 18 Scorpio, conjunct UK Neptune for a scandal about money. So a few similar patterns to those we’re talking about now. Tr Saturn was mid Virgo, opposing yesterday’s Lunar Eclipse.

      • Lots of governments are struggling. This is in part because the positions of the outer planets are all about to complete in 2027-2028 half cycles (Pluto Neptune) or full cycles (Uranus) to the positions they occupied in mid 1944 just as the Second World War began its final year. This is major climate change at the astrological level which is going to have more impact than the astrological weather forecast for individual politicians. All the certainties that underpinned the post 1945 world are being challenged or upended. This impacts across the political spectrum from right to left.

  6. The Rayner situation shows that you can’t throw stones unless your own house is in order. My guess is the press will eventually uncover Farage has also dodged tax and he’ll be forced to stand down. Which to be honest I’ve long suspected because this man does not want to be PM. Its too much responsibility and its easier for him to make the £££ via shouting from the sidelines.

    • Quite agree Cal. Farage would love to say I told you so but not enough to actually do it. His expertise is what he’s doing now. If all else fails he’ll self sabotage. I’m wondering when the penny will drop amongst politicos that he’s the messenger not the cause(s). So easy to shout at him while ignoring what needs to be changed. The Neptune Mars element in both the Polanski and Farage charts is interesting and currently seems prevalent in other’s charts too.

  7. Regarding Reform, they may
    have the momentum but outside
of the reactionary likes of the
DM and DT, their policies are
    water thin and financially
unviable. The fact that Liz Truss,
Queen Of Ruin is now a
    party member, should set off
    alarm signals within political
    circles both left and right.

    Farage is also deeply unpopular
with young voters. It should be
    also noted no major industry
    have backed Reform to date.

    Harold Wilson once said :-“A
week is a long time in politics.”

Labour are having a torrid time
at the moment, however if the
    economy is running smoothly
    in several years’ time, Reform
won’t have a chance of getting
    into power.

    • I think you are wrong to say Farage is unpopular with young voters, the polls I have seen suggest the opposite. For example, the ex Conservative Minister and former MP, Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg, announced at the weekend that his teenage daughter had joined the Reform Party! He said he wouldn’t be following. Worryingly, polls have also suggested that younger voters would favour a “strong leader” in preference to Democracy. Farage with his blustering rhetoric fits the bill.

Use Ebertin’s book for analyzing meaning of the midpoint to the natal planet.

  9. In Nigel’s chart, Venus rules income (2nd house) and law (9th). Uranus is ruler of the 6th, daily routine, health, work, service, subordinates, obligations.

That could be new income from work or also expenses because of work or health.

Could also be job (6th) connected to international matters (9th).

Could also mean financial choices and worldview may need synchronization through and with work.

There could be tension between “what I value”, “what I do daily”, and “what I believe”.

So it can manifest as a new opportunity (work leads to financial and edicational growth) or crisis and strain (health/work burdens straining finances and legal matters).

Somehow with Nigel – and I keep thinking about the Coutts episode and how he was offended, indignant, and in disbelief that this could happen to his highness him – I try to understand where the wound happened in life and how it so happened that we are living through his very public dealing with it. I am reminded of two lines: one I think in The Guardian describing Brian Sewell looking as a duchess that has just been given a t_rd and another, from Fellowes’s Titanic (ITV): “No one is more morally indignant than a beauty on the wrong side of 40.”, a line uttered by a French mistress of a passenger when a countess sitting at her table becomes increasingly difficult and snobbish. How he was so pricked by suddenly not seen as financially siccessful and member of a certain echelon of society was a sight to behold.
