For good or for ill Donald Trump’s bond with the USA is a close one, not easily pulled apart. But all political careers end in failure runs the saying. He too will pass one way or another though it is difficult to predict when his time at the top will give way to the ravages of time and fate.
There is a composite Sun trine Pluto sextile Saturn in his relationship chart with the USA which is chained together. Although tr Saturn Neptune in Aries will make a concerted effort in 2026 (and 2027) to undermine solidarity and support; with a jolting, tension-erupting tr Uranus square the composite Saturn in 2026/27 and tr Pluto square the Pluto in 2025/6 – so there will be heavy pressures and strong headwinds which will make even the most faithful of fans wilt.
Looking across the country relationship charts of other politicians who eventually gave into gravity – Tony Blair, Margaret Thatcher, General Franco, Richard Nixon, Pinochet, Videla of Argentina – there was a mix of Uranus influences (= freedom) and South Node aspects when they departed. Apart from tr Uranus rattling up the composite Saturn for Trump in 2026/27, what is notable is that the Lunar Eclipse of autumn 2028 will catch Trump’s composite South Node with the USA which may well be significant.
The key aspects affecting the USA national chart ahead.
- Tr Neptune will square the USA financial Venus from this month onwards joined in 2026 by tr Saturn – which suggests a downbeat mood on the money front. Tr Saturn in 2026 will also dent confidence in square to the USA Jupiter, joined in 2027/28 by the bubble bursting tr Neptune square Jupiter which will undermine unrealistic optimism. By 2031/32 tr Neptune will square the USA Cancer Sun for a slipping, sliding, indecisive and not confident phase.
- The history-changing collision between the USA Cancer Sun square Saturn in Libra in its Solar Arc positions and the USA Mars in Gemini square Neptune in Virgo picked up last year and will run on into early 2027. After which the setbacks and anxieties thrown up by it should fade.
- However the USA Saturn in Libra and Cancer Sun will remain under pressure for some years. A stuck Solar Arc Pluto will square the Sun in 2033 and bring hardship in conjunction to the USA Saturn in 2034. With major setbacks from the Progressed Mars conjunct the USA Saturn in 2032. Which could be a future government trying to pick up the pieces of previous bad government, financial and judicial, or it could be external events.
- And the next two elections in the 2030s will be contending with Solar Arc Saturn conjunct the USA Venus and Jupiter which will be downbeat – or at least forcing a few realities into the foreground.
As to similarities to the Mcarthy era: From an old post. There certainly were when Trump was first elected in 2016 when tr Uranus was impacting the USA’s obsessive, paranoid and hostile Mercury opposition Pluto – but the mood lingers on with the Solar Arc Mercury opposition Solar Arc Pluto catching the changing of the celestial guard with tr Saturn Neptune in hard aspect and tr Uranus and tr Pluto in sextile/trine for several years ahead.
2016 post:
“Remember it was White Americans who put you in the presidency, not radical leftists,” tweeted former KKK leader David Duke in response to Donald Trump’s half-hearted attempt to blame both sides for the white supremacist violence against peaceful protesters in Charlottesville. And the Washington Post is now directly comparing Trump’s modus operandi to Joseph McCarthy (URL below).
Both of which lock in to the key astrological transit on the USA chart from 2016 to early 2018. Transiting Uranus is squaring the USA Mercury in Cancer opposition Pluto, as it was in 1953/54 when McCarthy, having lied, smeared and ramped up hatred through his anti-Communist hearings, was finally tumbled. When he finally crashed and burned tr Uranus was exactly square the US Pluto.
Mercury opposition Pluto does exacerbate suspicion, paranoia, is associated with demagogues and those guilty of fraudulent misrepresentation, promotes over-intense debates with a drive for domination and little latitude for compromise, can teeter on the brink of nervous collapse through strain. Uranus is on an 84-year cycle of transits, so hard aspects come round every 21 years.
Trump, of course, learnt his McCarthy playbook from his mentor Roy Cohn (See post: March 7 2017). At the time, former president Harry Truman lamented “the rise to power of the demagogue who lives on untruth; it is the spread of fear and the destruction of faith in every level of our society.” A Post reporter Murray Marder described “a period of national turmoil. It was the closest we ever came to a real totalitarian atmosphere.” It wasn’t the media who brought McCarthy down since they’d been exposing his lies in the preceding years. In rural and low-income areas, he was deemed to have been unfairly vilified and gained support. Ultimately it was when the politicians turned against him and there was sufficient of an upswell of public opinion that his platform was demolished.
During another tr Uranus square the US Mercury opposition Pluto in 1973/4, Watergate was raging, escalating and ended with Richard Nixon’s resignation to avoid impeachment charges, as tr Uranus squared the US Mercury for the final time. VP Spiro Agnew had previously resigned faced with tax evasion charges.
Nixon died under the next tr Uranus hard aspect to the US Pluto opposition Mercury in 1994, then in Capricorn conjunct Neptune, so a very high-tension mood, as the Whitewater Investigation into Clinton financial dealings got underway, which although it fizzled out, did prepare the ground for the later impeachment of Bill Clinton over the Lewinsky affair. Jackie Kennedy also died, Superman Chris Reeves was paralysed, the Oklahoma bombing killed 169; and Newt Gingrich as Republican leader took over both houses, under a Democrat president.
Oct 1973 to Oct 1974 – VP Spiro Agnew resigns faced with tax evasion charges. Watergate is raging, escalating and ends with Nixon’s resignation to avoid impeachment charges, as tr Uranus squares the US Mercury for the final time in August 1974, tugging on the US Pluto.
On a previous occasion – April 1933 to April 1933 – President Franklin D Roosevelt declares a national emergency to come off the Gold Standard; and the Business Plot was uncovered which was an attempted coup d’etat against the government and Roosevelt’s progressive policies, by a group of fascist veterans and wealthy businessmen, wanting to ally themselves to Hitler’s Germany and Italy. At the time it was written off as a hoax but there did seem to be some wild scheme in place.
So this influence definitely attacks both the government and US democracy, either by dragging scandals into the open or letting loose hard right-wing fanatics.
So it has always been a significant and risky time in the US for presidents and the national morale, with the Republicans centre-stage. Back it comes round again and Trump is under multiple investigations which could lead to Federal indictments or impeachment ultimately; and the US is seeing an upsurge in far-right vitriol.

How does the astrology of the situation in the US regarding the dismantling of government (per project 2025 Whig you covered) compare to the fall of the USSR in The 90s—when oligarchs swooped in & took over publicly owned assets in Russia?
To me, it looks like the US is in a similar collapse —agencies being defunded such as .Dept. of education, NASA!, CDC etc etc. and the threat of selling off public lands (temporarily stopped). Seems like what happened in Russia to me.
I think it is the Pars Fortunae at 3° Aries in the composite chart. The Sabian symbol is “a cameo profile of a man in the outline of his country.” It is the hero archetype. A hero steps forward through adversity and then changes the world to his shape.
Today marks one year since Butler. That moment was Trump as the brutish Rob Roy in the last fight against the rather prissy nobleman Archibald Cunningham. Liam Neeson, as Rob Roy, grabs the rapier pointed at his throat holds it and takes a claymore in his other hand and slices Cunningham in two from shoulder to naval. Trump is bigger than just a man, he has been transformed into a archetypic figure at this point. The 2015 Republican primary, the Access Hollywood video, Russiagate, two impeachments, lawsuits, criminal charges, an FBI raid of his house and two assassination attempts.
One day he will die and, if it is soon, he will become even more powerful a force in American politics. The Democrats only hope at this point is he lives long enough for old age to weaken his image. Trump stood up at Butler pumped his fist in the air with blood on his face and the American flag flying above his head. That image of Trump the fighter is going to be evoked in every election for at least thirty years.
I disagree, Lumiere. I think we are seeing the beginnings of the irreversible dissolution of Trump’s power and influence now at a profoundly deep level among his followers, rather than some kind of further elevation to an unbesmirched, untouchable figure in US political lore and the annals of history.
He may well cast a long shadow over America and its politics for many years to come, but it will be far less so as a Reactionary rallying figure, and far more so as a symbol of the extreme dysfunction, outright unbridled corruption and moral decay that has besieged the US and set it badly adrift from its perch as superpower and “leader of the free world.”
There’s little question that the country will remain very powerful for decades to come, but Trump has all but destroyed the respect and political capital of the US Presidency. It may never be restored to what it was, and perhaps it shouldn’t be as we move into a new, multi-polar international order of things.
The Epstein scandal drama has shaken up his MAGA base in a manner that seems right on schedule with the Saturn-Neptune conjunction, which will be near exact at the very end of July, but will not perfect until February 20, 2026. I suspect we will see this continue to play out at least until next February.
By then, if he is still around, Trump will likely be greatly weakened and enfeebled, with his cult-like following decimated. He’s likely to be remembered as an improbable figure in US politics who both exacerbated and personified the nation’s problems and pathologies, doing nothing to alleviate them.
That’s cool, I’m used to people disagreeing with me on astrology boards. Thank you for your politeness.
Trump is improbable. I think the assessment of the USA and Trump that predominates in the comments here demonstrate the fundamental misunderstanding of the progressive leaning population with the conservative leaning population. There is no conservative revolt against Trump. Eleven days ago the Republicans passed his priority bill. MSN, PBS, ABC, NBC et al don’t have insight into the conservative view. They have zero credibility with conservatives. Every time Trump has a good week the very next week there is a big media push attempting to undercut his administration. It’s propaganda and it’s not working.
The Aries Saturn-Neptune is interesting. It is like that cartoon of Kerrville of a Trump supporter going down the river saying government is the problem.
The conservative asks Why wasn’t the Kerrville cartoon published on July 4, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992…2024 and all the days in between? Showing up a day late, dollar short, progressives had plenty of time to use the government to fix Kerrville flash flooding. It was a reminder FEMA under Biden had a policy to skip flood victims if they had a Trump flag. Neptune swept away Saturn. Everyone was ultimately alone in the river fighting for survival. SaturnIan government resources were pre-positioned to respond and pulled almost two hundred survivors from the Neptunian floodwaters.
We care about different things and always have. Conservatives know this, progressives I’m not sure they do.
The astrology has already forecasted the results of the Aries Saturn-Neptune transit. It is Israel-Iran, it’s Kerrville. It is tough but a lot tougher on those who struggle to be independent. Neptune the all mother is swamping everything, Saturn the all father is pulling those out who were successful at fighting to survive out of Neptune’s grasp. We are all in the river.
Trump as Neptune is chaos. Tariff policy, striking Iran’s nuclear program. Trump as Saturn broke up the Israel-Iran fight. NATO’s Rutte said “Daddy has to sometimes use strong language.” Trump then aligned the fractious Republicans less than 2 weeks ago. This is the astrology of the moment. Epstein is a honeypot. Neptune scandal and Saturn government. No president is going to give that up until the information and services no longer have value. No one better embodies the Aries Neptune-Saturn than Trump. He isn’t in the river, he is the river and also the Coast Guard diver pulling people out of the river. Tariff policy and all of a sudden some country’s drowning but Trump rescues them from the very policy he made. Neptune-Saturn.
It’s been a year since that astonishing incident in Butler Pennsylvania where Trump quite literally dodged a bullet.
How does the synastry of that particular moment continue to inform things, I wonder?
Thank you for this analysis, depressing as it is.
Request chart of Elons American Party…if democrats have no chance in next term then is it possible his party comes as challenger ?
Not many people will vote for a Neo-Nazi. Elon’s chart right now shows that he is undergoing a meltdown for the next two years. He was born near July 4, so there will also be a meltdown more generally in the US because of the Neptune square.
André, the inertia and ineptitude of the Democratic Party and its leaders like Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries certainly doesn’t bode well for the party’s prospects in the mid-terms, as well as so much of the gerrymandering that has all but negated the possibility for competitive legislative elections in many states. I believe there will be some bright spots, and an excellent chance that the Democrats will at least reclaim the House, but the Senate seems like more of a long shot, at least at the moment.
If the Republicans hold onto the Senate, we’ll see two years of gridlock, with Trump opting to ram through an ever more reactionary agenda by executive order. The Dems in the House will at least be able to run Congressional investigations of the Trump Administration by that point, but they still won’t have any real power to stop his appointees, including judges, in the Senate.
I just don’t get the enthrallment that so many have with the man. He’s incredibly inane, brutish, and stupid, but I guess that suits many Americans just fine, thank you. I honestly believe that this is all a reality TV show for them, and Trump is the star of it. They remain detached, numbed-out and indifferent to the real impact of this scumbag on their lives and the world around them.
Marjorie, I don’t think you mentioned the Uranus Return of the US here, exact in 2027-8, but if history is any guide, I think it might literally be the pivotal jolt awake out of the stupor for the US. Previous instances of this transit while in Gemini included the Civil War and WWII, so it looks to be something of a similar scale, though it remains to be seen if it’s an actual war, or something else that rocks the country at its very foundations. We never know with Uranus what it might be. Some might say it could be Trump passing at this time, which could very well be. But I suspect its something bigger and far-reaching, perhaps akin to the US Dollar losing its status as the reserve currency of the world, and the massive financial implications it will have for the country (and pretty much everyone else also).
I’ve also previously looked ahead at Trump’s Chart, and he has some key transits ahead that look like serious and permanent drops in his power and influence, not the least of them being transiting Pluto in Aquarius opposite his Natal Pluto at 10 Leo in 2030. His Uranus Return happens this year also. I seriously doubt that he’ll still be alive, even. But if he is somehow, he will be hitting hard limits that even force of personality alone cannot power him through.
Given that both of his parents died of Alzheimers and growing questions about his own mental state, I don’t think he even makes it through the midterms before it become impossible to maintain the illusion of his image of coherence and strength that his backers are so desperate to uphold around him.
Beware of wishful thinking. Trump obviously has strong genes and the good thing he is doing for his lhealth is playing golf often which brings fresh air and at least some walking. He may live longer than you would like.
On the Uranus return this is unsettling: https://on.ft.com/3GvAP6S
China has never been expansionist. It will bide its time. Rather than starting a war, Xi will simply sit back and watch as Trump “liberates” the U.S. from its global influence ( especially financial). The mass hysteria in msm about war and apocalypse is not mirrored outside western rote talking points land. No one needs the US preparing anyone for anything as its arc of influence collapses due to vast inner contradictions.
I disagree with both of you. Even Republicans are mad about the reduction in Medicare/Medical, and will be more so when the effects really hit over the next few months, and there will be more storms over TX (as there is another one today).
The center will not hold, though, yes, the Dems really need to refocus and get their shit together, but as many more young people will be joining the voting bloc by the midterms, and as they mainly vote to the left, never mind that Latinos are appalled, en masse, at who they voted for last year, I actually think there’s a good chance that the Dems can potentially take both the House and the Senate.
Dollar has seen worse during the Great Depression…though not all parameters matching now but hoarding of wealth and immense inequality certainly is signalling…the effects of Pluto in Capricorn era
I don’t see much relief in the mid-terms next year. Jupiter will be in Leo and transiting Trump’s Mars-Ascendant opposite the US Moon. Once again the American people are likely to be transfixed by his hypnotic grip despite declining econopmic fortunes and rising global threats.. Jupiter in Libra in 2028 conjunct Newsom’s Sun could favor him in November 2028. But Saturn-Neptune square US Sun, followed by Saturn square Pluto in 2028, will bring more hardship for a number of years.
