“Tossing your rope before building a loop don’t ketch the calf.” Cowboy proverb
Getting a handle on Trump’s vainglorious swagger about picking off Cuba, Mexico, Greenland, Colombia and attempting to reduce this blitzkrieg of a year-opener to manageable astrological proportions could hone down to Pluto Jupiter. Hyping up the USA chart at the moment, there is a Solar Arc Pluto square the Jupiter in effect across this year = might-makes-right, rules-don’t-apply. And the September 2025 Solar Eclipse, still in effect, and coming March 2026 Lunar Eclipse at mid Pisces/Virgo both trigger Trump’s Jupiter Pluto midpoint.
Jupiter Pluto leads to hubris described as excessive pride leading to retribution or nemesis. It is a “pride that blinds” causing foolish actions that belie common sense. Though to be admitted, Jupiter Pluto can produce results; and punishment for misdeeds can take a very long time. Except that in the case of the US, tr Neptune follows behind undermining the US Venus and Jupiter in the near future.
A new book by Edward Stourton, Made in America: The dark history that led to Donald Trump, argues that Trump is a logical outcome of American history, a modern representative of the illiberal, imperialist streak in US politics that in the past has led to territorial overreach, deportations and a dismissal of constitutional edicts. His conclusion is that “you cannot understand America without understanding Trump”. He is “as American as apple pie”.
In the 19th Century Thomas Jefferson acquired land from the French that makes up part or all of 15 modern-day US states, except that the true owners included an estimated half-million Native Americans. Four decades later, another massive land grab forced Mexico to cede more than half of its territory, including modern-day California, Nevada, Utah, most of Arizona and New Mexico, and parts of Colorado, Wyoming and Oklahoma.
There are precedents in the book for almost all of Trump’s actions – imprisoning or banishing foreigners without trial, and banning” writings against the president. Trump idolises Andrew Jackson, who refused to implement a supreme court verdict he disagreed with. William McKinley raised import tariff duties to around 50%, a “Trumpian level”, with disastrous consequences for the Republican party.
Another astro-thought as I trawled through far too many charts is that the 4th July 2026 congregation of Pluto at 4 degrees Aquarius trine Mars Uranus at 4 degrees Gemini and sextile Neptune at 4 degrees Aries does show up on a good many of the relevant charts.
I will list them since too many to elaborate fully.
NATO, 24 August 1949 11.42am Washington DC, has a 9th house Uranus at 4 degrees Cancer square Venus at 4 degrees Libra.
Cuba, 10 December 1898, has Uranus at 4 Sagittarius. The relationship chart with Trump has Saturn at 4 Libra; and with the USA Jupiter at 4 Virgo (conjunct Uranus).
The Cuba Revolution chart, 2 January 1959, has Pluto at 4 Virgo which suggests an upheaval or rebellion. It will be a tumultuous time for the country.
Mexico, 15 September 1810 11pm, has Jupiter at 1 degree Gemini opposition Neptune Saturn at 6/9 degrees Sagittarius which will be unsettled right through 2026 and on. The relationship chart with the USA has a composite Venus at 4 Virgo, due for an upset in July 2026; and the 2026 eclipses rattling up the composite Sun Uranus opposition Pluto. The Mexico relationship with Trump will be in turmoil from now onwards until the spring 2026 and not improving the following year.
Greenland, 1 May 1979, has its Solar Arc Uranus at 4 degrees Cancer, SA Pluto at 4 degrees Aquarius and its Solar Arc Mars at 4 degrees Gemini so will be on high alert and nervy in July 2026. Greenland’s relations with the USA will be meeting a sharp reversal come April 2026; with a war of words if not more in July with the composite Mercury (opposition Pluto) at 4 Gemini. Greenland’s relationship with Trump will be rattled from April 2026 onwards.
Denmark, 5 June 1849 12.15pm Copenhagen, has its Neptune at 4 degrees Pisces, for major worries come July 2026; and even more so has its Solar Arc Mars opposition its Saturn exactly then.
This does not necessarily mean that Trump will go full Genghis Khan since 4 degrees shows up on a good many of the close Trump circle charts and composites – so failed plans may be undercutting the bluster and bombast.
On Venezuela: ‘The strange truth is that despite America’s stunning display of military power, there hasn’t been regime change in Caracas. The same group of narco-traffickers and left-wing political operators still run the country, albeit without its former kingpin.’
Delcy Rodriguez, 18 May 1969, the present president, is a formidably confident Sun Taurus trine Jupiter Pluto South Node in Virgo with her Sun opposition a slippery, evasive Neptune. Her Jupiter Pluto squares DT’s Gemini Sun and Sag Moon so she’ll be a considerable adversary, not an easy pushover; with her Sun Neptune opposition falling across Trump’s MC/IC axis hinting at a lack of commitment/trust there. Their relationship chart will undergo quite a convulsion when tr Uranus squares the composite Pluto come mid May 2026 onwards.
Her Term chart, 5 January 2026, maybe around 8am Caracas, has an ambitious and argumentative Sun Mars in Capricorn in an opportunistic opposition to Jupiter. Reports are that since the seizure of Maduro, armed militias are patrolling the streets and journalists have been arrested in a government crackdown on dissent.
Her relationship with Marco Rubio looks similarly erratic with upsets and turbulence come June 2026 as tr Uranus is conjunct the composite Sun.
Rubio himself, 28 May 1971, is jangled at the moment with tr Uranus conjunct his Saturn, moving on to oppose his Neptune Jupiter from April through a highly uncomfortable summer with more beyond, hinting at collapsing hopes and even scandals. His relationship chart with Trump is mired in confusion from January 2026 onwards with tr Pluto square the composite Neptune; and de-stabilising further from mid June 2026 onwards with tr Uranus square the composite Pluto.
Media thoughts from today:
Perhaps one can search too hard for a Trumpian masterplan. “There are no grand designs, just vanity and vindictiveness,” says Bill Kristol, a “Lincoln” Republican and founder of the Bulwark. He invokes Rudyard Kipling’s poem Recessional on British imperial hubris in the late 1890s, a warning to a nation drunk with power and prone to “frantic boast and foolish word”.
Ambrose Evans-Pritchard, the Telegraph financial journalist, is worth a read. “Trump and his Maga pirates’ Venezuelan plunder is almost worthless.”

Aditya Chakrabortty in the Guardian. Useful slant on the present mayhem.
“Don’t dignify Trump with talk of a ‘new world order’ – there’s nothing new or ordered about this chaos.”
“The US president’s grotesque theatrics on the world stage are an opportunistic distraction from his falling domestic ratings.”
“All the same, scratch a Trump promise and underneath will glint a pretext. Scrutinise his grand plans and you find only shabby tactics. From real-estate deals to Trump University, all that this guy swears is solid gold soon settles into so much bullshit.”
“Will Trump rule Venezuela, or Greenland? It would make a change if he ruled the US. The president is a fair way through his second term in office, yet we are still to see Trumpism in one country, let alone around the world. The result of all this indecision and chaos is personal approval ratings that have sunk below those of “Sleepy Joe” Biden. “

Chief executive Darren Woods pushes back against president’s call to rush back into troubled country.
Add On: January 13 from the FT.
On Greenland:
The challenges involved in any extraction of rare minerals are formidable, perhaps prohibitive. “It’s not a short-term project. It requires many years of preparation, investment and infrastructure before there would be any profit or revenues or supplies coming to the US.”
“The whole mining industry agrees that the Greenland promise is absolutely overrated. Nobody understands why anyone is putting money into this.”
There are massive logistical difficulties – lack of roads and other infrastructure. Everything would have to be brought in by helicopter, which can be far from straightforward given Greenland’s frequently rough and freezing weather.
Even if the ore can be extracted, the rare earths must be separated from the uranium, the eudialyte and other contaminants. That is a costly and fiddly chemical process that can encompass more than 200 steps. Apart from isolated pockets of expertise, such as in France and Estonia, knowledge of these processes has all but died out in the West.

Marjorie, the King is due to make a state visit in the summer to America. Given the situation, at present will he be going? And should Harry make tracks to leave, as well? Would Trump hold him or them hostage? I know I have given you a lot of questions, but the astrology angle would be quite interesting.
Interesting add-on regarding ExxonMobil‘s response, Marjorie. Thank you.
Agree, very interesting to see ExxonMobil’s realistic response. Of interest – Marjorie’s post on ExxonMobil in August 2020. Their 1999 chart has a stellium in Aquarius with tr Pluto right there at the moment.
I was fascinated to see ExxonM’s “oily” Neptune, 2 Aquarius, and Mars 3 Aquarius, plus South Node 5 Aquarius (past associates?) will all be further triggered by a whoosh of planets arriving in Aquarius, and aspecting tr Pluto (buried treasure) later this month. Spring’s Neptune in assertive Aries (what a puzzling mix!) also sextiles Neptune and Mars for ExxM. Something new? Saturn trines their Sun/Pluto in Sagittarius around the same time.
And on it goes, once Uranus in Gemini joins in with new ideas, new locations perhaps?
The full stellium is: Neptune 2, Mars 3, S Node 5, Uranus 13, Asc 22 Aquarius.
Any hot spots on the Treaty of San Francisco also known as Treaty of Peace that US signed with Japan on 8 Sept 1951 after the WW2. After that, Japan signed a Treaty of Taipei with Republic of China (ROC) on 28 April 1952. I don’t really know what is the details of the treaty. But is like 2 Treaty, 4 parties entanglement.
The Marco Rubio birth chart has the same degree and sign moon that the chart for the next pres election.
No time for either but curious I think.
@Iri, could be that there will be an “international incident” that will be used to postpone the elections.
I honestly don’t see DJT lasting until 2028, and I think his “handlers” are aware of this too, explaining some of the frenzy.
Thank-you Iri and Solaia…. for directing the attention away from Trump towards the “handlers”. I am astonished at how much of the focus in all media is Trump, Trump and Trump and what HE is doing. It seems to be a great distraction so that the background Powers that Be can orchestrate a detailed, far-reaching plan. Project 2025?… you don’t even hear about that anymore!
I read a great article, (under Analysis) in CBC news, about Marco Rubio. I would be very interested in seeing an astrology post on him, Marjorie.. if that interests you. He was described as a “hawk” on Venezuela and Cuba for years. He has quietly maneuvered his way into multiple key positions in government and so has a lot of influence.
Marco Rubio sticks out now, clearly showing who is really holding power and using it.
I agree with Solaia…. even the handlers can see that Trump is fading fast and, therefore, the frenzy.
My Mom was exactly like Trump… so much so that my husband commented on that years ago. Although she was a Master of chaos and manipulation, I discovered that SHE could also be manipulated easily. Trump is the same.
anyways…. my apologies for no astrology! Except for my request to look at Marco Rubio again?
btw.. I am in Canada. Sigh.
Thanks for an interesting presentation, Marjorie. I’m going to have to take a look at Edward Stourton’s book.
In the case of Cuba, Marjorie, there are some other significant dates that could be pertinent in addition to the two which you provided. The two dates which you had mentioned were for the signing of the Treaty of Paris that ended the Spanish-American War (December 10, 1898) and for the end of the July 26 Movement’s revolutionary campaign when Fidel Castro’s revolutionaries entered Havana after forcing Batista to flee Cuba succeeded in overthrowing the American-backed Batista regime (January 2, 1959).
Formal independence from Spain was declared by Cuba on May 20, 1902, which also marked the end of American military occupation in the country following the settlement of the Spanish-American War. Cuba was forced to accept a constitution written by the U.S. without any amendments permitted. The constitution for Cuba was included in the Platt Amendment, legislation introduced by Senator Orville R. Platt which was approved by the U.S. Senate on February 27, 1901 and by the House of Representatives on March 1, 1901 before being signed into law by President McKinley on March 2, 1901. Restrictions on Cuban amendments to its constitution were lifted by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1933 as part of his “Good Neighbor Policy” designed to ease tensions with Latin American nations and foster better relations and trade following repeated instances of American military interventions after the Spanish-American War.
Also, you had omitted two key words when quoting George S. Patton. The complete quote is as follows: “Lead me, follow me, or get out of the way.” Scorpio that he was, Patton would have preferred to lead and have others follow, but he did have his moments when he had to be led and follow orders, such as when General Dwight D. Eisenhower forced him to apologize for slapping a traumatized soldier undergoing care at an American military hospital whom Patton had callously accused of cowardice.
Thanks for the day-brightener, Andre!
Seriously, though, astrology aside–or, I suppose dovetailing with astrology–Trump always overreaches, with disastrous results for himself, and this Venezuela adventure is a doozy. Bill Kristol is right–there is no plan, nor is there concern with the welfare of anybody other than Trump and is sycophants. Another never-Trump former Republican, Rick Wilson, calls it “the Iraq of Vietnams.” Many political observers, including Wilson and James Carville, believe the timing of the invasion is directly related to Trump’s ongoing attempts to distract from Epstein Files revelations.
From the get-go, there was very little support among the general public for either military intervention or meddling in Venezuela’s internal affairs; and if Trump is stupid enough to try “boots on the ground” (and he definitely is), and American soldiers die, even that small amount of support will evaporate.
I’m not sure the Icharus comparison is totally apt–after all, Daedalus’ wax wings were works of misguided genius–but maybe Humpty Dumpty? Or, to be biblical, “As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool returns to his folly”? However you characterize it, this is a repeating pattern in Trump’s life–ridiculous undeserved “luck,” followed by even more ridiculous overreach and failure, then a calamitous fall.
Recall that he was a shoo-in for a second term in 2020–until his criminally inept handling of the Covid pandemic, coupled with his attempted show of messianic force in response to the George Floyd killing (his photo op with the upside-down Bible in front of St. John’s Episcopal Church in D.C., after he’d had tear gas-wielding law enforcement personnel clear Lafayette Square), helped doom his re-election bid.
He always screws up. For the sake of the U.S. and any of our allies (or, as it stands now, sadly, former allies)–and anyone caught up in his madness–I hope his fall to earth happens very soon, and is permanent this time.
Trump’s move into Venezuela does not even make sense economically. The barrel of oil is currently at less than 60$, far too low for the tens of billions in investment that would be required to bring the Venezuelan oil industry to speed. Meanwhile, China will be reducing oil imports as it leads the world in electric vehicles. Guess which is the right policy for the 21st century?
The Saturn-Neptune conjunction square US Venus, Jupiter and Sun will bring a sharp and long-lasting decline in living standards in the US, and by extension Canada and Europe. This in turn means that the midterms are unlikely to be held due to miltary adventurism designed to divert public attention, or they will be sham elections Putin-style.
For those who put their faith in Mamdani, the mayor of Montreal spent three years in a Canadian internment camp for opposing the draft in WWII. He was reelected when he was realeased and a majoir avenue over Mount Royal bears his name. Mamdani will have to toe the line. I expect the Obamas and the Clintons to live in exile like the Clooneys in one year.
If Trump invades Greenland, it will be the end of Nato, but that is precisely his objective.
The world as we knew it will be defintely gone by the end of this year.
that was grim
If Neptune conjunct Scheat could post here. The world as we knew it changes regularly at present, while the outer planets get settled into their new seats all at once.
Still going light, I see…
To be honest, I may be overtly optimistic at times, but right now, I truly feel quoting Mauno Koivisto, who was Finnish President at the end of Colf War: ““Unless we know for certain how things will turn out, let us assume that everything will go well.”
There’s simply nothing in the skies to justify all these gloom, and I am more inclined to think the recent developments will make Trump Administration even more unpopular in the US than he currently is, leading to adjustments.
See the add on above. Much in agreement with yourself and A122
Greenland is strategically and minerally valuable. Perhaps there is a choice approaching, either China and Russia acquire influence there, or the US does. Which of these would be safer for us here in the UK and Europe ?
Europe and NATO, without the strength of the US to back us up, appear to be too weak to be a major player in the game.
Transiting Pluto is opposing Greenland’s 1979 natal Jupiter, which rules Greenland’s 4th house.
4th House – home, land, mining.
@Claire D, Russia really isn’t a player here. I mentioned the oil tankers which left Venezuela despite the US blockage in another thread. Well, one has now been seized by the US, despite a submarine escort. I can’t state how embarrassing this is to Putin. It will, effectively, reign their “shadow fleet” activity considerably. This is obviously playing in favour of Europe.
The real threat for the US hegemony is, and has been in this Century, China. Don’t mind the knuckleheads of Trump Administration. Smart people in Washington know that the US can’t compete with China without the help of their “traditional” allies in Europe. I heard Democratic Senator Murphy (who, I think, will eventually replace Schumer as the Leader or might become President Pro Tempore when Democrats take the Senate) state this, too.
Along the lines of that book, I’ve been thinking Trump is the ultimate product of this Pluto in Capricorn era which is the culmination of all that humankind has attempted and achieved since it was last there just before the Industrial Revolution.
The series of Great Jupiter-Saturn conjunctions from 1800-2000 fell in Earth signs and saw the rise of materialism, consumerism etc.
But when Capricorn is in its shadow, it’s a hollow being, utterly concerned by what other people think, always trying to impress without having mastered the details.
“But when Capricorn is in its shadow, it’s a hollow being, utterly concerned by what other people think, always trying to impress without having mastered the details.”
So true, GD. This describes to a tee, two Mars in Capricorn people I know. Different sun signs.
I seen to remember a post last year indicating the charts for Trump and most of his cabinet looking unpleasant this year? I can’t find it but I think it was around the time of the inauguration. How does that all factor in to what’s happening now?
Marjorie writes above “This does not necessarily mean that Trump will go full Genghis Khan since 4 degrees shows up on a good many of the close Trump circle charts and composites – so failed plans may be undercutting the bluster and bombast.”
I think it was sprinkled through various posts but these might be helpful;
TRUMP TARIFFS APRIL 3 2025
TRUMP ROUNDUP FEBRUARY 23 2025
why won’t denmark force the hand of the wizard of oz behind all this and break diplomatic relations with the US? it isn’t as though it gains anything from any partnership.or even Nato at this stage. i would send my A/S to to ukraine. see how the gringos like it.
@major tom, if you have been paying attention, Baltic Sea is currently a hotbed of Russian espionage and sabotage activity, and while Greenland, pop. 57 000, sits thousands of km away, Denmark, pop. likely 6 million by now (they were 23 k short in 2024), partially controls the straits. Unfortunately, their military capacities have been stroke down in the decades after the end of Cold War, they are now rebuilding, but it takes time. They absolutely need British Navy in particular, help that the Brits are willing to provide.
We, the Finns, are also standing with Denmark. Despite (or maybe because) they do not share a boarder with our country, and their language isn’t as understandable to those of us who studied Swedish as Norwegian, we have great relations. King of Denmark and our President have become personal friends.
So, we will not quit them, even if the US did.
Thank you about this. I have a strong intuition much of the current discourse will seem irrelevant once Neptune leaves Pisces.
That said, I am also wondering about Stephen Miller, who is in Trump’s Venezuela team and seems to be the chosen messanger of DJT’s worst impulses on Greenland, too.
There’s your post from last May perfectly depicting the turmoil rumored in his private life – it was rumored there was a polycule situation where his wife Katie was not only working for, but was in a relationship with Elon Musk. Katie left the WH with Elon, but then resigned after Elon blocked eis husband on X.
You also mentioned Solar Arch Pluto conjunct his Uranus in 2026/27. I don’t know much about Solar Archs, so, I am wondering when would the effects be felt? His tr. Pluto square Pluto and subsequently Midheaven is shaping up as we speak. He will definitely continue to rub people the wrong way professionally. (Sidenote: My tr. Pluto square Sun and then Pluto were only endurable because I spent them pregnant and on maternity leave)
I won’t be surprised if the discourse looks very different by year end as there is a lot of astro change to cement in this year.
I’m sure there’s a list somewhere on Marjorie’s site already but…
– Neptune into Aries – 27Jan
– Saturn into Aries – 15Feb
– Uranus into Gemini – 27Apr
– Chiron ingress into Taurus – 20Jun
– Jupiter into Leo – 1Jul
– true node/average node into Aquarius – 28Jul / 19 Aug
July is an interesting period as there will be a kite in fire/air signs pointing at Jupiter in Leo.
None of this guarantees an immediate flip for the better as Marjorie wrote a while back when she looked at how the last Uranus into Gemini took a while to sort out WWII. My read is that Trump is the triggering event for making politicians around the world change their direction from focusing on economics.
But jupiter in Leo almost opposite saturn in Aries…has there been a female leo n male aries, it was confirmed wedding but it’s opposite when same gender since same energy and egos. Also, saturn and jupiter r enemies, being opposite in nature: one gives, other takes.
Since saturn is just beginning to settle in new house, he won’t react immediately as he is also a slow to react sign and add to this the confusion of Neptune in Aries using illusions to keep world in panic mode.
There r too many enemies facing each other coming couple of years. Slow pluto vs jupiter who moves every year and both in opposite signs of ruler vs freedom.
Uranus in gemini so again two fast moving signs ,without much thought.
Just stay fastened to seat belts
Leo isn’t opposite Aries – they’re trine – hopefully creating a steadier force but for the most part they’re out of orb of each other.
Jupiter will spend most of this cycle in the second half of Leo, it’s only in opposition to Pluto Aquarius through July-August.
Saturn flies into Aries to reach its retrograde degree (14) in July; it then only retrogrades to 8deg in December. There will be some contact with Uranus, Neptune and Pluto at times but the orb is always wider.
Rubio’s air grand trine of Sun, Uranus and Mars will align nicely with transiting Uranus, Neptune and Saturn over the next two or three years. He might find himself on the rise for the next presidential race.
Maybe if he had stayed in the Senate, but attaching himself to Trump is going to be a career killer.
@Roderick, I just went to see what’s going on with Florida Governor race, and apparently, Rubio hasn’t endorsed the preferred GOP Candidate, so he still might be considering that, too.
Agree, jupiter in Leo giving boost
