Solar Eclipse – the mood of the moment

The Partial Solar Eclipse on Sunday 21 September at 29 degrees Virgo will reinforce the prevailing edgy, uncertain and uneasy mood.

Falling in the final degree of Virgo the New Moon is in a Grand Trine to Pluto in Aquarius and Uranus in Gemini, formed into a Kite by the New Moon opposition Neptune and Saturn, tying the eclipse into the recent celestial shifts – and highlighting the Neptune Saturn conjunction which can at best have a wish for a better society, and at worst be neurotic.  Adding to the level of strain are two yods of Pluto sextile Neptune (Saturn) inconjunct Venus – and Neptune Saturn sextile Uranus inconjunct Mars; with Mars square Pluto. And that is piling complication on complication.

Venus on the focal point of a yod can be anti-social and emotionally out of sorts. Mars on the apex point can be argumentative, headstrong and self-willed.

Jupiter may in a minor way help to soften the effect as it trines Saturn and squares the Mars.

This Saros series of this eclipse at 9 New South is associated with worries about loved ones, health and paperwork. Bernadette Brady remarks: “Any news will have a sense of destiny or fatedness about it.”  It was around previously in this series in 2007, 1989, 1971, 1953, 1935, 1917.

  1. Interesting that the day of Charlie Kirk’s memorial service fell on this date. Trump, Vance, MAGA, and the US Right-Wing media is trying so desperately to cannonize him into sainthood and finger the Left in his murder, despite the fact that he was done in by one of their own.

This is a South Node Solar Eclipse, which suggests a gradual “leak” and dissolution of some kind, rather than a clean, fresh start for a new beginning. Also it’s at the aneretic 29th degree of Virgo, so there’s no pathway for the energy to continue as it is and has been.

I think this moment will ultimately prove 6 months out from now to be the start of an unraveling for Kirk’s legacy and his Turning Point organization, rather than a post-death “rebirth.” Donations may well flood in for the moment and new chapters may even open in the near-term, but donations will eventually dry up and the new chapters will be shuttered.

Americans are also notoriously short-term in their memories, though I suspect ongoing scrutiny of the many, nasty, bigoted things Kirk said during his life will come to color his legacy much more than the ridiculous platitudes and tributes paid to him by MAGA influencers.

    • @Clarence, I think march to the oblivion is already beginning. Your post came about the same time ABC reinstalled Kimmel. My guess about the timing is that not only did their Disney+ subscriptions suffer (I know multiple people in Finland who cancelled), but they have ratings for Kirk’s memorial, and they weren’t good. I mean, who in their right mind wants to spend their Sunday afternoon watching screeching Stephen Miller?

Erika Kirk will likely pivot to purely Christian influencer, I learnt this content was very popular on Charlie’s channels anyway. I doubt she will take the Coretta King road privately, either. Different generations and expectations despite her having been older than Charlie.

      • Ugh. Stephen Miller is absolutely loathsome and despicable. A soulless, sociopathic goon of the lowest order. I am with you on having no desire to hear his awful, screeching voice. Listening to nails scratching a chalkboard might actually be a grace in comparison.

I passed on his speech and caught some other highlights, including Trump’s most anti-Christ-like screed about hating his enemies. It’s clear that DJT isn’t even trying to hide—or simply can’t hide—his rage and hatred anymore, and there isn’t a shred of Christ alive in him. Do any of the so-called Christians that follow after this most ungodly man even notice or care?

I am kind of surprised they actually gave Miller air time at Kirk’s funeral, given that he’s essentially just one of Trump’s lackeys in the pecking order, and supposedly behind JD Vance.

But then, I think most of us realize this unelected, unaccountable, and undesirable fiend has quietly amassed a great deal of power and influence in the shadows behind Trump—far more than anyone should ever have in America’s government.

There absolutely must be an accounting for his abuses and sociopathy. I dearly hope the Dems make a Congressional investigation into this latter day Adolf Eichmann top priority (along with Kristi Noem and Pam Bondi) when they retake Congress. They must grill this vampire in the withering open Sun of public scrutiny and inquiry.

FWIW, Miller has Uranus currently Squaring his 0 Virgo Sun (as also does Karoline Leavitt) well into 2026, so some major setback/upset seems likely at some point that will knock him off his pedestal, either in Trump’s eyes or among the others in that den of vultures that has taken up residence in the White House. I’m sure Miller fancies himself as president in the future.

Our saving grace against that dread nightmare is hopefully his abject lack of charisma or relatability. He literally seems to have been gurgled up from the worst of the Internet’s underbelly forums.

    • “Trump, Vance, MAGA, and the US Right-Wing media is trying so desperately to…finger the Left in his murder, despite the fact that he was done in by one of their own.”

Hello Clarence, maybe do some more research. This early rumor that the Charlie Kirk shooter (Tyler Robinson) was “one of their own”, a right wing, MAGA member, is untrue. His parents are conservative Republicans but, according to reports, he has opposing views and a different lifestyle (gay, with a transitioning lover). The fact that he didn’t vote in the November election also seems to further distance him from the MAGA crowd.

      • pdw,
That’s certainly the hope of the MAGA far right, so desperate as they are to find a rationale for their own latter-day “Reichstag Fire” to go after the Left with a vengeance.

But remember, the Left in the US is disorganized to the point of being an punchline, and is not even remotely radicalized. The Right on the other hand is far more cohesive, active, and very angry, both towards the Left and among its own factions.

To this end, everything actually points far more strongly in the direction of white supremacist Nick Fuentes’ “Groypers” faction, which Robinson was associated with, and probably his roommate also for reasons I’ll explain below.

Look them up. Fuentes harbored a deep hatred of Charlie Kirk for his mainstream success—and pulled most of his ranting posts in the aftermath of Kirk’s untimely death. Fuentes languished and seethed in the margins and darker corners of the web because his views and presentation were far more extreme and unpalatable compared to Kirk’s. We have to ask ourselves who now stands to gain the most from the void that Kirk leaves in his wake?

The Groypers are incels, young men deeply frustrated by their apparent inability to attract women for sex and long-term intimate relationships. So desperate are they for physical affection that some have taken to “feminizing” themselves and even coming out as transgender women to engage in relationships with other male members. We see the same phenomenon in prisons where men are isolated from women for years. All that pent up energy is still there and needs to be expressed somehow.

The great irony here is that while the Right supposedly hates transgender people with a vengeance and is seeking to persecute them, it is quietly and hypocritically harboring its own sect of transgender individuals and relationships.

I know this all sounds bizarre. But understand that we are now living in a world where Internet culture and subcultures have great influence on events in our daily lives. Just look at how memes spread around. Welcome to Pluto in Aquarius territory. It’s just going to get weirder from here.

  2. Had a good dream on the 19th. Eclipse happening in my 4th house, a certain composite chart of mine is rattled. My own Neptune, North node are all being squared. No idea what to make of it except my hobby interest just switched.

    • Hello Martha, with T Mars at his MC-N Uranus, perhaps your son’s journey is tied to his profession or a new career/job? Or to his relationship with others in some way (Sun in 8th House)? Virgo tends to be observant, pragmatic, and helpful, so potentially an effective problem-solver if he does encounter problems/stress along the way (with T Saturn-T Neptune opposing his Sun).

Best of luck to your son!

  3. “Associated with worries about loved ones….news will have a sense of destiny or fatedness
about it.” My son is setting off for a long trip…the eclipse at 29 Virgo is on his
9th cusp of long trip. In his biwheel also he has trans Mars at he MC conj his natal Uranus…not good. Trans Mercury, car, in 9th conj his natal Mars-Pluto….not good
Natal Mars rules his 3rd, travel while natal Pluto rules 8th. Trans Mercury trines his Asc.
The eclipse is at the Aries Point exactly conj his 00Li00 9th cusp.

    • “… health and paperwork” @Martha, he’ll be just fine. Just ensure he’s kitted out with fully comp travel insurance (with an excellent defacto rating) before he sets off.

    • If car is no good, take train?? Or even opt for domestic flight if he intended to self drive. Hope he stay safe and you find yourself worry for nothing. 🙂

  4. For added reflection, this eclipse is at a critical degree, suggesting extra sign emphasis, awareness, or importance to timing, some astrologers say. And its Sabian symbol (30 Virgo) is: LIGHT IS CALLED INTO ACTION (Jones) or TOTALLY INTENT UPON COMPLETING AN IMMEDIATE TASK, A MAN IS DEAF TO ANY ALLUREMENT (Rudyhar).

With my Sun close to the eclipse point, I am viewing this eclipse as a symbol of my current focus on losing weight, a few unwanted pounds that make me feel frumpy and my clothes feel tight. Weight loss literally comes to mind with T Saturn-T Neptune in opposition. As does self-improvement (Virgo). I know I can do it because, gee, I was in the same situation two years ago and was successful…but this time I’m more aware of distraction, either from my own doing/lapses or from outside interference with my diet/exercise routine. Perhaps distraction (Neptune) will be a bigger challenge (Saturn) or ‘allurement’ this time around. We’ll see.

    • Virgo being sign of working class ..seems it’s going to be testing times for them coming months and pisces opposite it also feel the impact the sign of artists to religious ones

  5. This is eclipse is going to be exactly conjunct my retrograde Pluto in my first house and exactly square my natal Venus in the 10th. My Gemini Venus and retrograde Virgo Pluto are square each other in my natal chart.
Any advice on what that means.

    • Hello Roderick, I’m no pro but here are a few ideas for your consideration…Could this reflect an empowering time to act on a personal desire, change or ‘transformation’ you’ve been thinking about or need to make? Perhaps there’s a connection to your profession/daily work or your fitness/health routine (referenced with Venus in the 10th and the Virgo emphasis). Or maybe a money-related decision or issue is important and involves others in some way (with both Venus and Pluto potentially referencing resources, money, and shared values, and T Saturn-T Neptune in your 7th House of others).

Best of luck with the eclipse!

  6. I believe this eclipse will have a positive effect on Ukraine and a negative one on Russia. Personally, it is conjunct my wife’s Saturn and opposite my natal Mars. I slept profundly for three hours this afternoon, and it has barely begun to be felt.

    • Same here…thanks..i was too questioning my odd sleep deep hours.
It’s 2h of india the country I live in too and the beginnings have begin in economic ways from foreign countries and enemy neighbours.

  7. This eclipse series seems to carry major synergy with Saturn/Neptune conjunctions. 1989, 1953 and 1917 all had them. 2007 had a Saturn/Neptune opposition the year before. 1935 had a Saturn/Neptune square.

  8. From the map of the eclipse on Wikipedia, the shadow seems to fall on the southern Pacific Islands and New Zealand, narrowly missing Australia.

The troubles I can think of in that part of the world are the separatist campaigns in New Caledonia and French Polynesia, and possibly Bougainville becoming the world’s youngest new country.

Would it make sense to also cast the chart of the eclipse, but set to Wellington or Auckland in New Zealand or one of the other south Pacific islands?

Also Saros cycle 154 started in 1917 and so closely aligned with the Russian revolutions of that year. Is it worth casting a chart for Moscow?

    • I m aware in india too astrologers take it as no eclipse if not visible…but I have found the effects there even when not visible so it needs to be seen how impactful it is…might be not so hard as on lands where it is visible but definitely can’t be ignored
