Chancellor Rachel Reeves’ much vaunted spending review has led to accusations of spend now, pay later with investment in infrastructure like nuclear power stations. Boosts for Health and Defence budgets come at a cost to other departments like the police which is unlikely to go down well with the electorate. Investors are widely expecting that tax increases will be necessary in the autumn Budget given poor growth, rising borrowing costs, and the continued upward pressure on Nato defence budgets. All this in the context of Labour’s YouGov poll rating down at 22 per cent with Reeves’ own popularity nosediving.
Born 13 February 1979, Lewisham, England, an uncompromising and determined Sun Mars Mercury in Aquarius square Uranus Reeves continues to look bullishly confident from late this August to mid December 2025 with the final hit of tr Pluto opposition her Jupiter in Leo. Though that can bring over optimism or arrogance that backfires.
On midpoints she has a calamitous this July, early October to early November and again in May 2026. With a ratchety, panicked, blocked and confused run on several unfavourable aspects through 2026/27.
Her relationship chart with Keir Starmer looks edgy and seriously rattled from this July onwards into 2026. With the September Solar Eclipse this year conjunct their composite Pluto which hints at either formidable pressures for change in their joint enterprise or a power struggle.
Her relationship chart with the UK is strewn with three strained yods, suggesting she will, for good or ill, have an effect on the UK’s destiny. Given that tr Neptune Saturn are conjunct the composite Mars, tr Pluto is conjunct the composite Sun and tr Uranus is square the Saturn and opposition Neptune – through this year and 2026 as well – it does not look as if the ‘fated’ bond will end well.
The Bank of England, 27 July 1694 JC 10 am London, is entering into panicky-failure territory with tr Neptune Saturn opposition its Mars now and into 2026, continuing on in 2026 to square the financial Venus and square the North Node in Capricorn.. By 2026 there is a Solar Arc Pluto square the Mars which is trapped, scary and completely grid locked. Once over that hurdle the BoE chart looks in better fettle and could be forging ahead.
The Rachel Reeves/BoE relationship chart could not be more fraught with a hostile, power-struggling Mars Mercury square Pluto Uranus and Jupiter square Saturn – all of which is under pressure in 2026 and on.
Interestingly the BofE chart seems more cheerful from 2027 on, since that is also according to Marjorie’s previous analysis a potential point which improves UK/EU relations. So I wonder if those two things might be linked.
Starmer’s Saturn at 5 Aquarius is exactly square Rachel Reeves Chiron at 5 Taurus suggesting conflicts over authority and their position within the structure of government. They probably trigger each other’s feelings of inadequacy as well, particularly as they are both desperately uncharismatic politicians. This aspect will get very tough to handle as Pluto approaches its conjunction with Starmer’s Saturn.
From memory I think the UK 1801 Chart has its Sun /Pluto midpoint at 6 degrees of Aquarius in the 4th house opposite its Moon/Uranus midpoint in Leo. Just after the initial Pluto transit over Starmer’s Saturn it briefly touches this midpoint – which will sextile Reeves’s and Starmer’s Chiron in Aries in their Composite Chart. Their wounds may come to a head? Pluto transiting the U.K. 1801 Sun/Pluto and Moon/Uranus midpoints, involves us all and is a major challenge to politics and our money. It also coincides with Uranus transiting the Labour Party’s Chart. Reeves may have started a huge change in this country.
Transiting Uranus was messing around 6Aqua in 1997 when Blair was elected and took the country in a new direction. And transiting Neptune in 2001 when he was re-elected and 9-11 occurred which played into his poor decision to support the Americans in Iraq. And he himself has his North Node at 6Aqua (along with moon at 11Aqua). Maybe with his Saturn at 5Aqua it highlights why Starmer’s attempts to follow Blair’s path to success have failed.
Just looked at the Labour Parties 1900 Chart. It has Saturn 3 degrees in Capricorn and its Sun in Pisces at 8 degrees, making its Saturn/Sun midpoint circa 5 degrees of Aquarius. An interesting time next Spring, as it looks like there will be a battle for the soul of the Labour and a new leadership. Or it hits the ground as its bubble bursts?
There were murmurs last year of Starmer might call early election in 2027 to get a second term, as govt forecasts economy doing better then.
Hadn’t realised until this evening that it was a Sag full moon … spot on Reeves’ natal Neptune. That doesn’t sound great
Thanks Marjorie, so fast! Very hard to know what to make of this spending review when so much of it seems like aspiration rather than pragmatism. Where’s the actual story she’s trying to convey? Anyway, as you say, the ‘fated bond will not end well’. One thing I notice is the 17 February 2026 Solar Eclipse, square Taurus Uranus, at 28-9 Aquarius. A tr Mars in Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus activates the eclipse again towards the end of February, echoing our current Leo Mars/Uranus transiting square which prevails for this current review, and does seem to suggest instability is built in to these announcements.
The Solar Eclipse will hit:
Bank of England Moon, 28 Aquarius
Rachel Reeves Ceres, 27 Aquarius (land and farming issues?), Mercury 27 Aquarius (infrastructure transport plans? Education?)
Reeves/Starmer Composite: Nodes 28 Leo/Aquarius, partnership asteroid Juno, 28 Taurus – parting of the ways?
UK Edgar chart: Sun, Mars, Mercury, MC 25-6 Taurus, Pluto 27 Leo
UK 1922: Mars 27 Aquarius square Venus, 25 Scorpio
I sometimes wonder whether this government will make their full term. Anyway, as you say, ‘formidable pressure for change in their joint enterprise’ is mounting.
I did a quick calculation tonight. It looks like Rachel Reeves Moon/Mars midpoint in Scorpio is opposite Argol in Taurus.
