Marjorie,
Sorry for this HUGE post but I’m trying to frame it towards some questions about fascism. I am getting more alarmed by this current administration. Trump registered a new business in Thailand on Nov 21 2016. Is that legal? He has quietly fired almost all around him who will not agree with his ideology. Stephen Bannon, a proud neo-Nazi Leninist said (Fox News interview, Feb 2014): “When the economy crashes, when the country goes to total hell and everything is a disaster. Then you’ll have a (laughs), you know, you’ll have riots to go back to where we used to be when we were great.” Honestly, who hurt this man?
Both seem to thrive off the rhetoric spewed from the angry conspiracy theorist, Alex Jones’ gob, whose always been convinced (and this is how I interpreted it 10 years ago) that the powerful are corrupt (appears true), the corporations/banks own the world (appears true) and we are heading for martial law (looming) and bringing down the powerful will give us equality. Very Bannonish. So, is Jones a fascist too? He’s very pro-Trump. Odd, considering his stance on corrupted people of power and money, huh?
Now there is Judge Gorsuch as Supreme Court Justice, who is extremely conservative and controlling towards LGBT rights (from lambdalegal.org): “Judge Gorsuch’s opinion in the 10th Circuit Hobby Lobby decision is disqualifying,” said Rachel B. Tiven, CEO of Lambda Legal. “The Hobby Lobby decision set a terrible and destructive standard for bosses being allowed to meddle in our sex lives and decide whether or not birth control is covered by the employer’s insurance plan. In Judge Gorsuch’s decision, he calls the inclusion of health coverage that includes birth control – ‘complicity…in the wrongdoing of others.’ Even the Supreme Court, affirming that case, acknowledged how dangerous this line of thinking is: it creates a nation in which some religions are obliged to follow the law and others are not. Troublingly, Judge Gorsuch does not even see this as a problem. I’m assuming his role of Supreme Court Justice will now allow Donald and the rest of the Third Reich 2.0 party to pass through legislations that will be against the constitution and help bomb it back into the middle ages?
12 days in they are making aggressive war noises at Iran. Reuters have now instructed its reporters to cover the Trump Administration the way they do other authoritarian regimes.
All these alarm bells made me check out the history of Fascism. And its similarities to Trumps ideology and rise is terrifying. Gary Zabel wrote a piece for the Boston Institute for Non-Profit Journalism called, ‘A Fascist in the White House’ in Nov 2016, a week after Trumps win. He has studied fascism for over 45 years and understands its patterns to rise to the top. He goes on to explain the 12 points of classical fascism in a government and its leader. Donald Trump scored 8 out of 12. Towards the end of the article he states: ‘Let me end by pointing to some developments to watch for as Trump enters the period of consolidation of power that may indicate a move toward institutionalized state fascism.’ He gives 4 signs. I can see Trump and his party have already shown 3 of the signs already. Gary Zabel then allows international academics and researchers to have their comments on the piece, and although I haven’t yet got through them all, most seem to agree with the points the article makes.
Marjorie, have you heard of an astrologer called Bill Herbst? He predicted over 10 years ago that: ‘we could likely see, in the aftermath of the seven Uranus-Pluto squares in effect from 2011-2016, an expression of fascism not unlike what was experienced in the aftermath of the last series of Uranus-Pluto squares in the early 30s and after the Uranus-Pluto conjunction in the mid-60s. I can’t actually find anything to link to any articles, so perhaps it’s in a book you might have? And what is your insight to these configurations and Herbst’s views and how they are playing out now if you take the fascist White House into context? Would 2011-2016 be the incubation period needed before hatching or does he mean it would have shown its face by then and died out?
All this makes me question:
1) How similar are the astrological aspects to the rise of early 20th Century fascism to what we are seeing in the USA and Europe today? I know in your post about the French Elections that you cannot use astrology as a concrete tool to predict the future, understandably, but that it makes more sense when you look back over an event. So, is it possible, if we assume, 3-4 years down the line, that state fascism IS EXACTLY what it is, does the astrology make more sense within that context?
2) Could you look at the major news groups and their charts (as well as their interplay with leading political parties/leaders)? Propaganda is fascisms most powerful tool and that would be the news networks that would give it a platform. Trump is already hinting about fully controlling it and elevating the likes of Bannon’s owned alternative far-right Breitbart. This is all very Hitler-esque, isn’t it? USA would be Fox, and would CNN or ABC be its biggest rival? I know in the UK it would be Conservative party owned BBC against ITV. I don’t know which major news groups exist in European countries which are showing a worrying trend for fascism/nationalism? Do you see any instability for these news corporations in the future?
3) Will any other states consider breaking away from the USA within the next 4-8 years or is it a case of hanging in there, fighting their corners till this fascism loses its grip? Will it ever TRULY get the grip its desperate for? I can certainly see a natural breaking away with the EU, although I don’t believe it is all fundamentally down to fascism like seen in the US. I see you’ve answered the Calexit question but, what about Oregon, Washington, and New York who have posed the same question to break free like California? Also, I know congress would never allow a state to secede, but with the support of the masses and a powerful legal team, CAN it ever be done there?
Please, PLEASE, throw an ice-cold bucket of common sense over me and throw up some practical insights to see that this is not like 1930s Germany and that institutionalized state fascism is NOT being birthed back into existence. None of us need to repeat that again. I’m trying to be positive and trying to view them being in power as the catalyst for some serious positive change the world over and not them getting absolute, corrupted control of the world.
How would you interpret Solar Arc Saturn on natal Jupiter (Sag, 8th house)? And SA Jupiter on Mc, followed by SA Uranus on MC, in a few years’ time just after each other? Would you interpret SAs in same way as transits or progressions? I hate astrology as it makes me really nervous about the future. Does anyone look ahead in the future with their charts? The only good thing is that it looks like a big romance is going to happen….but I need to wait about 10 years more.
Julie
I agree with you 100% re astrology! I have recently had the most enlightening reading from Marjorie on a particular family issue and it’s changed my outlook. I sent it to the other two parties involved and they said… she’s nailed it! We are working to improve things. I’ve only been studying for 5 years so it’s worth talking to a professional with many, many years of experience.
Astrology is like reading a new language written in the sky. When you can unscramble the code, the clouds part.
Re Bill Nye’s comment on astrology…..In two years they get over it? He is obviously clueless. I’ve been an astrology buff for 25 years and feel blessed that I found this wonderful realm. The more I’ve learned about astrology, the more relevant it’s become to my unique situation. Everything in my natal chart perfectly reflects my life journey. It works beautifully. Unbelievable how closed most scientists are. A true scientist is open-minded, someone who eagerly explores and investigates all possibilities, concepts, phenomena, etc. Most of them automatically dismiss astrology without any scrutiny or examination. Nye is no scientist.
Hello, Marjorie, any thoughts on Roger Federer coming back ater taking six months off to win his 18th Grand Slam? By the way, would there be any chance that we could have access again to your wonderful archives from the old website? Many thanks, Alice.
Yes, the old archives! There was so many posts and profiles on there. I hope they are not lost forever?
No, not lost. I have them in my own archive and have access to the old site. So if you want anything just ask. We’re still slowly sorting out loose ends from the switch over. As ever it’s partly money since nothing comes free. But will happen, hopefully at some point soon.
Thanks Marjorie 🙂
Trump did not win a majority of votes. He won the electoral college.Hillary Clinton had 2 million-plus more votes than Trump. He is a minority President.
Do the majority of the American people really understand how the electoral college works …….? Never mind anyone outside of the US.
It strikes me as odd that a democratic voting system used by the people selects a person to be President but yet a system that not many understand and that has nothing to do with majority rule over-rides that process and puts who it wants in place, even when it is the loser?
How does that make sense in a democracy? ………. maybe I just don’t get it being outside of the US.
To be fair, all electoral systems have their oddities. Can’t remember which UK election it was but the LibDems overall won a chunky amount of votes but very few seats. And until they sort out the boundaries some miniscule constituencies get an MP as do much larger blocks of voters, so it is uneven.
Jennifer – the US was created as a Constitutional Republic. We’ve all fogotten the words to the Pledge of Allegiance..”…and to the Republic for which it stands…”
Looks like Trump is back to shouting, “You’re fired!” The US attorney general was sacked after refusing to defend Trump’s travel ban.
“At present, I am not convinced that the defense of the executive order is consistent with these responsibilities of the Department of Justice, nor am I convinced that the executive order is lawful”
Sally Yates, Aug 20, 1960, Atlanta, GA.
The Press Secretary (Sean Spicer) then proclaimed, ““These career bureaucrats have a problem with it?” Mr. Spicer said. “They should either get with the program or they can go.”
Wow, so much for having a democratic cabinet that helps when weighing up both sides before making an important decision. So when you surround yourself with only ‘yes’ people who do not question and fires anyone who disagrees with you what is that? He certainly has everyone talking and glued waiting to see what is going to happen next….. maybe shutting down the media?
Things heading towards Autocracy Avenue? Isn’t this dangerous territory? Hasn’t the US always had something to say or do to regimes that swam in those waters?
Mmmm…………. well, this is what the majority signed up for or he wouldn’t be there now doing what he is doing!!
Reality TV at its finest…… Even Kris K couldn’t come up with this storyline – move over KUWTK.
LOL (I know I know …. this is serious)
His reaction, and Spicer’s, (and Bannon’s) is very much in line with his ugly pathological narcissism. They are right and you are wrong. If one dares to go against them they react in the most predictable manner. Revenge. It’s their modus operandi. So, she got sacked and he/they still retain their stance of power, over her and the situation.
Hi Marjorie,
How about Saudi Arabia, Iran and Oman?
Is it the same thing like the other gulf states till the beginning of the new decade?
Your great work is a light in our darkness!
Marjorie, has an astrologer ever had any input into the formative documents defining the beginning of newer (or new) forms of government, such as the Magna Carta, or others?
Marjorie – haven’t read about the synergy or dysfunction btwn the Pope and our Commander-in-Tweet. How does that look…and what might go down as 2017/2018 progress? It seems that not even the Pope is exempt from Trump’s outbursts.
“Trump, who told a crowd of supporters that he “liked the pope” before learning of the statements, said the Mexican government manipulated Francis.”
Can you glean anything from the timing of when Trump signed the Executive Order banning travel from certain Muslim countries?
He signed it on Friday 27th in the afternoon/evening, at the Department of Defense in Arlington, Virginia.
According to wiki….. “enactment of the executive order at 4:42 pm on January 27”
Here is a comment made by American scientist Bill Nye. He compares Trump supporters to astrologers vis a vis their inability to distinguish fact from fiction.
‘If somebody believes in astrology, it takes them about two years to get over it. You have to show them over and over there’s no such thing as astrology, it doesn’t really work, and then they let go. But everybody’s expectation that you’ll let go in a week is not going to met.’
Nye is another Sagittarius, much beloved by CSICOP – Comm for Skeptical Inquiry, who are questionable to put it mildly.
Marjorie, I appreciate the work you do. It’s especially helpful in these uncertain times.
Could you please look at Steve Bannon and his influence/relationship with the United States? I’m also wondering about the relationship of the military with trump and with the United States.
I am especially disturbed about the changes in the National Security Council which hasn’t gotten much attention with the immigration ban, but both executive orders were issued on the same day.
I’m also wondering about a rift within the White House. Is Bannon edging out Kushner’s influence with trump? The Kushner’s just had many White House staffers to their home Friday night. Some have speculated about a family rift as Bannon seems to be in control.
Thanks for the valuable work you do.
