  1. Hi Marjorie,

would you mind looking into yesterday’s assassination of Minnesota Democratic State Legislature member Melissa Hortman and her husband in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota? The same gunman (57 year old Vance Luther Boelter who is still at large) also attempted to assassinate another Minnesota Democratic State House Representative named John Hoffman and his wife.

According to HuffPost, the gunman was a known Trump supporter who opposed abortion rights and hated LGBTQIA+ people. He apparently disguised himself as a police officer to get close enough to the victims.

Huffpost also reported that the gunman had a manifesto found in his car where he writes about his plans to assassinate other Democratic politicians in Minnesota including: Tina Smith, Tim Walz, and Ilhan Omar.

Anyway, Wikipedia provides the birth dates and birthplaces of both Melissa Hortman and John Hoffman. Anything astrologically you could share about this shocking tragedy would be greatly appreciated.

    • And strangely Boelter was appointed to the Governor’s Workforce Development Board in 2019 by Governor Tim Walz. He had previously served on the Governor’s Workforce Development Council, appointed in 2016 by then-Governor Mark Dayton. All very odd.

  2. Possible slight diversion from the world being on fire —
Huma Abedin and Alex Soros — terrible wedding chart?
Both Mars square Uranus and Jupiter square Saturn?!
Do their individual charts have terrible love aspects?
Her first marriage was obviously horrifying, yet she stayed in it a remarkably long time under the circumstances.
The rehearsal dinner was apparently Friday, which suggests a wedding Saturday or Sunday.
    How does the relationship look?
Some astrologers posit that the wedding chart only describes the wedding, not the marriage.
    Thoughts?

    • Marjorie has posted a number of detailed articles here on Israel, Iran, and US involvement. They’re very helpful for an overview of the bigger picture, and some of the individuals involved. The Mars in Leo square Uranus in Taurus tr aspect is exact this weekend, and then echoes in the February 2026 Solar Eclipse in Aquarius, and February Mars in Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus. All these impact on the USA’s late Aquarian Moon. The tension also impacts:

Iran 1501: Pluto 28 Scorpio opposing Mars 25 Taurus
Israel: Mars 28 Leo, Sun 23 Taurus
      Netanyahu: Mars 26 Leo
Donald Trump: Mars 26 Leo, ascendant 29 Leo
Hezbollah: Sun 27 Aquarius, Mercury 25 Aquarius, square Saturn 27 Scorpio
Yemen/Israel composite: Sun 27 Taurus, Venus 27 Taurus, square Neptune 27 Scorpio
For the EU, the Treaty of Rome chart shows Pluto 28 Leo

I’m sure there’s a lot more. Clearly a time of real danger and chaos, but WW3? I’m not convinced about that.

      BBC website today says:
“The talks between the US and Iran on a deal over Tehran’s nuclear programme was about to enter its sixth round on Sunday. There have been conflicting signals over how much progress has been made in this.

For Netanyahu, though, it may have seemed that this was a crucial moment to ensure that what he sees as an unacceptable deal would be stopped in its tracks.

Militarily, he and his advisors may have felt that not only Iran but its proxies in the region – Hezbollah in particular – have been weakened to such an extent that the threat they once posed is now no longer as potent.”

  3. Could you have a look at Dua Lipa who has announced an engagement to Callum Turner. As I recall she’s last degree Leo so her sun is taking a square from transiting Uranus and Mars. Maybe I’m overplaying that Uranus transits don’t usually lead to anything lasting but it doesn’t seem promising to me so interested to know their compatability.

  4. Fox News was first broadcast on October 7th 1996, which (using a noon chart for NYC as a rough guide) indicates a Saturn return in March next year.

With Neptune conjoining Saturn in 2026/7 (and Saturn opposing the Sun) I wonder if some karma is finally due?

    • I wonder if the Astro.com message board archive in the Mundane section still has the thread about US major news networks. There were charts there, possibly with exact starting times.

  5. There was also an interesting phenomenon going on in the skies these days: the lunar standstill. I think every 18 years it happens? Wonder if it has any astrological meaning.

  6. A pragmatic idea. What if Trump and Scheinbaum in Mexico jointly agreed to rescind part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which sold the southwestern states to the US for $15M, by ceding Cali to Mexico. The population of Cali would be over the moon and it could end any cartel style hostilities at the border overnight. Win Win.I think the astrology is supporting dissolving borders?

  7. Air India founded in 15 October 1932, commenced operations on 29 July 1946, as per Wiki. Another horror show tragic aeroplane crash.

How do you guys deal with flying? Has anything changes during the years? Any turbulence strategies?

    • Time and place if crash: Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at 13:39 local time (08:09 GMT).

      Source: BBC

    • I have not travelled after the covid lockdown. As for this year I rather trust the Hongkong tabloid news (don’t even know which astrologer was that) that I read about deferring travel plans after April. That was my personal message to my family as well.

Always buy the best travel insurance one can afford immediately after you booked your flight tickets. There are going to be issues with cancelled, delayed flights this year, airlines going bust. There are people online who said avoid all the B planes but is it really possible? Don’t cheap out with geolocation hacks when buying plane tickets. Your payout if anything happened to you is based on where your ticket is bought. (some international treaty based on memory). Lastly, Pray have faith ask people to pray for you to have a safe travel.

    • El Aznar: Flying is a horrible mess now. Have flown at least 10 times the past 2 years and the flight delays can last hours.

Airbuses are much better than Boeing planes but all have been retrofitted to squeeze in more passengers. Don’t know how obese passengers manage, no legroom at all. Turbulence is bad and our last landing in early May was so hard it caused a huge jolt and a loud boom.

I read traffic control towers still use Windows 95. Son-in-law works for TSA and said it’s true tho not everywhere. Even tho he’s not a Trump supporter, he was happy to hear he wants to overhaul the system. It’s completely outdated and controllers work 2 hours on with big breaks as it’s a horribly stressful job made worse by bad equipment.

Last flight we sat on the tarmac for an hour so the pilot could reboot the plane. That instilled us with confidence /s. It’s best to fly direct as if you have to change planes, as we did flying to Dallas and then to Florida, there was a four hour delay to get to Dallas and then a crowded terminal of passengers waiting to see if another flight was available. TSA lines make it even more miserable and still require shoes to come off even tho no bombs have ever been found in them.

We stopped flying Alaska Air to Seattle because the terminal has been under construction for at least three years, service counters are extremely slow, elevators don’t work, escalators weren’t working, had to take a 3 story flight of stairs, there are tarps up everywhere which cause confusion. Took us 2 1/2 hours to jump thru hoops and finally get to our gate which was in the final stages of boarding.

When trip is done you have to pray your luggage is there. Last trip was much easier as we only used carry-ons. I never thought care-ons would have enough space but they do and save time and worry.

There has to be a better way. It used to be fun to fly and no longer is. Flying again at end of August and dreading it.

One more thing, Sean Duffy had a post on X a few months back asking for comments on how to make flying better, 13,000 replies so it certainly isn’t an isolated problem.

      • Sorry, son in law works for FAA, not TSA. Daughter always gets mad when I mix them up. Possibly because no one likes TSA. It’s hell to get old.

  8. Trump is staging a big military parade of tanks and weapons in Washington, D.C. this Saturday June 14th (also his birthday) starting at 6:30 pm, lasting 3 hours. It’s going to cost $45million and destroy the streets that aren’t built for tanks. Counter protests are planned. How is this going to go down & what will the repercussions be? Sounds like none of the major tv networks will cover it as Saturday is traditionally a big sports broadcast day, but it will be on some minor streaming channels.

    • An extraordinary musician and composer indeed. He leaves the stage just ahead of his Jupiter in Cancer return, Neptune and Saturn squaring that, and with Uranus crossing his 27 Taurus ascendant. 20 June, 1942. And the full Strawberry Moon today is 20 Sagittarius. A very troubled soul, but then so many amazing talents in this world are, or were. He represents the essence of that California sound, and the best of our fantasies of what California meant symbolically I feel. Sly Stone (Pisces) has also just died recently – another outstanding, groundbreaking musician and troubled soul. RIP, they brought much joy to their audiences and fans.

      • The California connection went straight over my head. Thanks, Jane.

Poor man apparently had dementia. I wish we could find a cure for that cruel disease.

        R.I.P.

        • Me too, VF, me too. Having watched someone (lively, witty, talented) I loved very much disintegrate with FTLD, it is a condition that is beyond cruel. I remember you’ve also faced it with someone you love. Listening to some of the wonderful music Brian Wilson made this evening, and thinking what a superb legacy he leaves across multiple generations of music lovers.
As for California, it is on my mind for obvious reasons at the moment. It’s a State that’s inspired much music, from the vintage California here I come, to Joni Mitchell, Mamas and Papas, and on into the ubiquitous, spooky Hotel California by the Eagles. I swear I’ve heard that played somewhere on every holiday I’ve ever had!

        • He was also misdiagnosed as having schizophrenia, and BBC then send to have incorrectly said he had it, but the Wiki states he had schizoaffective disorder, I believe. And mild bipolar. So sad.

Always had an interest if psychiatric disease is mainly some kind of physiological disequilibrium, either hereditary or not, maybe triggered by environment and personal goings on, or if something else is at play.

          • ‘Touched by Fire’ by Kay Redfield Jamison is an interesting read on the subject of creativity in musicians, poets, artists, composers and writers and mental illness, specifically Bipolar Disorder which the author is also diagnosed with. Even the Ancient Greeks were aware of the correlation between the artistic temperament and ‘madness’. The myth of Orpheus I think in a way encapsulates that relationship. Orpheus is torn to pieces by the Maenads because his grief and melancholy enraged them.

      • Thank you Jane for mentioning Sly Stone. He was a precocious genius, playing many instruments at the age of 11. Music would have been different without him and his band. But yes, also with a lot of personal struggles. May he rest in peace

      • Love this commentary. Was listening last night to Pet Sounds and then more songs by Wilson & then moved on to Stone (and then some other songs by relatively recently deceased musicians too.) It’s sad to see that particular generation, that brought such beauty in sound into the world, leave us.

  9. Next week, the Commons will vote on amendments, proposed by Labour MPs Stella Creasy and Tonia Antoniazzi, to the Crime and Policing Bill that seek to decriminalise abortion up to the moment of birth.

Is there something in this govt chart that makes them so pro-death? First they introduce a badly drafted assisted dying bill and now they want abortion until birth. I am pro choice but this is not normal.

    • Mars Uranus in the 8th in Starmer’s government chart? The abortion providers are not happy with the bill and it seems to leave in place the up-to-24-weeks requirement for an ‘official’ abortion – but what it seems to want to do is remove criminal sanctions from women who procure or cause an abortion up to term. An odd cause to push.

    • It’s not “spreading all over” just in LA there are 3 million people in the city, 10 million in the county—there are over 39,000,000 people in California.
The reaction to protests-originally under 2000 people—mostly peaceful protests are being overblown—perhaps for propaganda purposes.

There is not widespread vandalism or violence except for the violence of taking parents from their children. Ambushing people in courthouses where people were seeking to rectify their immigration status. Picking up people at work—tearing apart families. Statistically immigrants commit fewer crimes than Americans AND there are higher crime statistics in red states.

This is a reality tv stunt and the scriptwriters are very sick, sadistc people.

  10. Shocking plot twist in the Baldoni/Lively legal drama: would it be safe legally to say anything about this through his and her transits, solar arcs, and progressions?

    • Oh, El A – I was revulsed by that headline, too. Your post reminds me that a review of star attorneys is worth requesting.

      Bryan Freedman for Baldoni
      Alan Jackson for Karen Read
(w David Yanetti as stealth second chair)
      Joe Tacopina saving A$AP Rocky
Leslie Abramson ( defense stars vs a Marcia Clark prosecution type, is there a signature difference?)
Johnny Cochran F Lee Bailey Robert Shapiro….

It was said attorney Freedman ‘raised the Titanic‘ w that presentation for Baldoni. I hope the ripples of that continue.

Naughty attorneys could be illuminating too. Dershowitz Michael Cohen Mark Geragos Guiliani Avenetti … and that’s just this side of the Atlantic . No doubt plenty of fish in the sea(s).

      • I keep thinking about what I said in that other thread about them: he had many transits going on after which he’ll be a changed man. And a lot of it scares me a bit, because I think it will not be easy.

      • If I saw correctly yesterday, Baldoni has numerous squares from transiting Neptune in Aries onto his Capricorn planets and about as many from transiting Pluto to his Scorpio ones. Those are some big, heavy goings-on.

And he also finished the transit of Neptune squaring his Venus, which is loss (Neptune) of money (Venus) – also fraud (Neptune) with money and finances – and deceit (Neptune) from women (Venus). It is a *heavy* transit I wish more was spoken of.

Someone check if I saw wrong.

        • *interesting* and #gasp.

More would be illuminating, Neptune in particular sounds maddening to prepare for…how does one prepare for deceit/illusion?

  11. Rumours emerging from China suggest there may be a seismic shift underway: “https://www.visiontimes.com/2025/06/05/chinas-leadership-shift-why-xi-jinpings-one-man-rule-may-be-coming-to-an-end.html”.
Would be interested to know what the astrology shows. TIA

    • Reports suggest China has entered a period of economic deflation; with prices and asset values falling. Falling prices – great. Not necessarily. Deflation can be the signal of an impending recession and hard times. As the Beijing regime has relied heavily on a vibrant economy to keep the masses happy, the underpinning of that strategy may be starting to crumble.
