We’re in ‘eclipse season’, and it certainly feels like it to me. I noticed that the approaching Solar Eclipse in October aligns with two fixed stars in Libra, in the constellation of Virgo, the grain goddess as I like to call her! The only female figure in our zodiac too. The stars are Porrima and Vindemiatrix. Vindemiatrix is all about the harvest, mostly of grapes. And ‘gathering’ as Bernadette Brady puts it – objects, information, and so on. Porrima is more complex.
“Porrima is the Latin title and honours one of the sisters, Porrima and Postverta, who attended the Roman goddess of Prophecy and writing Carmenta, who was said to assist a woman in labour and to tell the future of the newborn. The Arabic title is Caphir meaning ‘infidel’ which some say reflects the Islamic revulsion of pagan goddesses. Robson claimed that it is called ‘An Atonement Offering’ and offers a courteous, refined and loveable character with prophetic instincts. With the Sun it is said to show involvement with intrigue; legal troubles are indicated if it is connected to an afflicted Mercury.” Deborah Houlding, Skyscript
Both this autumn and next spring’s eclipses in Libra/Aries, Pisces/Virgo are weirdly emphasised by Venus (women, money, the arts?) and Mercury (communications, travel?)aligning with those degrees, or opposing them. For the Solar Eclipses, Mercury turns Rx in March at 9 Aries, Venus turns Rx in March at 10 Aries. Venus then turns direct at 24 Pisces in April (the Lunar Eclipses), while Mercury turns direct at 25 Pisces, also in April. Porrima’s themes of women, plus prophecy and writing, seem to be underlined by the journeys of Venus and Mercury next Spring.
Thank you for this write up on the alignment of the eclipses with the fixed stars and the degrees of Mercury & Venus retro in the spring.
The degrees of all are very close to personal planets in my chart, hoping it portends the successful culmination of a nearly decade long legal process…
Jane, the star Vindemiatrix was known in old astrology as the ‘widowmaker’, had almost as bad a reputation as Algol and was connected with losing one’s partner. I have my Ascendant and Pluto on Vindemiatrix – oh, deep joy!
Fram Astroking: ‘In older astrology, this star ranks with Algol in having an unmitigated reputation for evil, and some even have noted the arc or aspect between the two is the much-feared 135º, the sesqui-quadrate or sesquisquare. But the underlying reason for their similar reputed lies in the connection of both names with the theme of ‘the Spirit’. The one is the name from which comes our word Alcohol, the other is the star whose rising signifies the time for harvesting the grapes, our main old source of the same. As always, much depends on how one sees events themselves as good or bad. Yes, it does frequently mark the death of someone’s partner in life, whence its appellation ‘The Widowmaker’, which of course prompts us to say: ‘It is bound to since someone dies at every minute or so of every day’. But still, the fact remains it figures strongly and regularly in deaths that are in some way dramatic, newsworthy or are resented in much more than the usual degree by those left behind (assassinations, common criminal murders, executions, airline disasters etc.).’
Thanks VF. For a more upbeat Vindemiatrix have a look at Bernadette Brady’s Fixed Stars…..with your Pluto/Asc and this star you must be some kind of detective researcher I feel! Happy Autumn Equinox tomorrow.
Hello Marjorie
Can you have another look at Mohammed Al Fayed? I always had a bit of sympathy for him but he seems to have been a sexual predator. Is there any sort of fated astrology between him and Diana that meant he was bad news for her?
Hi Marjorie,
Normally, I wouldn’t ask you or any other astrologer to look into U.S. Gubernatorial election, but it appears North Carolina has captured national attention because their current Republican Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson is running is now running for 2024 Gubernatorial Election and he’s been extremely controversial.
Mark Robinson, who happens to be African-American, is affiliated with some of the most far-right factions of the Republican Party. He openly spouts violent rhetoric (like calling for the death penalty of any woman who has an abortion), believes women should be submissive in society, obedient to their husbands, and baby-making machines.
Robinson is known to be part of the QAnon circles, he’s disparaged the late civil rights activist Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., has been friendly with white nationalist and white supremacist groups, and has been involved in one shocking scandal after another.
Most recently, Robinson has been caught spouting a litany of homophobic and transphobic remarks. Yet, Ironically, the latest scandal being reported is that Robinson left comments on internet message boards discussing how he enjoy watching transgender pornography, he refers to himself as a “perv,” and he even referred to himself as a “Black Nazi” and that he wouldn’t mind if slavery were to be reinstated. Robinson is also a Holocaust denier.
In other words, Mark Robinson appears to be just as crazy and despicable as Laura Loomer ( the self-hating Jewish MAGA woman).
Mark Robinson’s rhetoric, policy positions, and scandals have become so extreme, so controversial, and so egregious that it’s beginning to alarm the Republican Party.
Many Republicans around the country are now urging Robinson to dropout of the race and even Donald Trump asked Robinson to dropout at one of his rallies.
As of right now, Mark Robinson has vowed to stay in the race….but he is trailing in the polls against Democratic Gubernatorial candidates Josh Stein.
All in all, I’m not a North Carolina resident and I don’t always keep up with the politics of every state. However, given how the North Carolina Gubernatorial Election has become national coverage (because of all the absurdity), I was just curious to know if you had anything to share astrologically about Mark Robinson and the North Carolina Election itself.
I couldn’t find a birth time for Mark Robinson but I did find that he was born on August 18, 1968 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Marjorie, in searching for a post about poor Lebanon and its future prospects, I’ve just gone back and read your post from a few days after the October attacks in Israel and Israel’s initial strikes on Gaza, along with the comments. I developed an increasingly sick feeling at your rereading your post, which, unfortunately, has proven too accurate for comfort.
Could you take a look at Lebanon, which has been fought over for more than a millennium and endured incompetent and corrupt governments, the massive deadly explosion near its port a few years ago, on-going financial crises and perennial strife between Israel and Hezbollah? Is there any hope for greater stability, peace or improving conditions for the Lebanese who seem to be pawns amidst chaos?
Thanks!
Is the eclipse rattling Starmers? Wonder what the October one will bring for them?
Kier Starmer’s secrets are popping out such his wife receiving money for her outfits and other things coming out. Is there more that is going to be revealed? Maybe he is not so pure as he appears?
Other than trolling, any astrological insights to share with us?
Would it be possible to look at the future of Afghanistan? What is happening there is beyond awful. It must be terrifying to be a woman. It is so easy for women’s rights to be removed, as shown by the removal of abortion rights in the USA, that all women should be worried.
Marjorie,
One TikTok astrologer predicted Donald Trump would die sometime during the second week of September. I remember watching her video when she made this prediction back in June.
Granted, I didn’t put much stock into her prediction (I tend to be a little skeptical of random self-proclaimed astrologers, numerologists, Tarot readers, and psychics on social media platforms). However, surprisingly, there was another assassination attempt on Donald Trump’s life yesterday (Sunday, September 15) here in Florida.
The perpetrator is named Ryan Wesley Routh and he is known for his commitment to human rights and humanitarian causes. For example, I read that he helps build “tiny houses” for the homeless and he’s a strong advocate for the Ukrainian People and believe the Western World should be doing MORE to help Ukraine (instead of sitting on its hands).
While I know we must not condone political violence, I think Ryan Wesley Routh was simply so passionate about the future of humanity and he knows what an evil, disgusting pig Donald Trump is, he felt Trump at to be eliminated for the better good. Luckily, nobody was hurt though.
I was wondering what the astrology suggests about Ryan Wesley Routh.
Also, I’m beginning to wonder if Donald Trump is even going to make it to November; the hatred that civilized people have for him is genuine and there’s already been 2 attempts on his life.
Some astrologers predicted last year that they didn’t see him as the Republican nominee. I assumed those predictions could now be debunked given that he’s already the nominee. However, if these attempts on his life continue, I suppose it could scare Donald Trump enough to step aside.
As if you didn’t already know already, another attempt was made on Donald Trump’s life.
The dude in custody is Ryan Wesley Routh and he has quite an extensive profile.
Court records show Feb 1966 but no day given.
Looking at 1966 ephemera my guess is his chart probably has Mars conjunct Saturn in Pisces opposite Uranus/Pluto in Virgo. Maybe birthdate around Feb 21st (0 Aq) with Sun currently conjunct Pluto in Aquarius? The Sun 2 days ago would have triggered his Neptune at 21 Scorpio.
Sorry, not 0 AQ should be Pisces.
Astrology seems on with his temper tantrum today of blaming Biden and Harris of provoking the shooter into trying to kill him. Feeling unloved (where is Melania…?) and certainly spiking the stress in his life.
Two assassination attempts in as many months? It would shrivel the souls of normal people.
He isn’t exactly “normal,” and he and the despicable Vance certainly seem to be the ones inciting the violence.
Plus Elon Musk asking on his platform why it is that no one has made an assassination attempt on Harris or Biden. Quickly deleted, the coward having made the point he wanted. The deplorable Vance admitting on camera that he lied about Springfield, Ohio. The rising flood of whackjobs, conspiraloons and men who do disturbing things with animal carcasses.
@J, I’m not sure where you’re coming from, either linguistically or geographically, but from my observations Kamala Harris — if that’s whom you mean by the inaccurate description — appears to be growing in popularity. The same seems true for the Democrats in general, especially in comparison to the increasingly racist, misogynistic, mendacious and divisive Republican ticket of Trump and Vance.
A troll, by the language used.
Hi Marjorie
Any insight on the future of Intel Corp? From a western security perspective they are the last chip manufacturer. CEO Pat Gelsinger has ambitious plans to get US and EU governments on board with funding and bringing back the halcyon days of western manufacturing. They are running into impatient Wall street headwinds who want to split their legendary Intel Inside PC/server vs manufacturing/foundry business. On their server and PC products, NVIDIA and AMD are eating their lunch.
