      • Yes, that would be interesting. So much earth and water, so all the wind and solar power he’s so keen on may be compensation of a sort? There are other sources of clean energy after all.

  1. Hi Marjorie,

For something different, what are your thoughts on the 1942 triple conjunction of Mars, Saturn and Uranus all near Algol please? A close relative has this and I really find her a struggle.

Also looking at her midpoints on Astro’s ephemeris and 12 are in Aries. Does the spread of elements or signs in the midpoint chart influence a person’s personality in addition to their personal planets?

I would love to hear your thoughts on these very much please.
    Thanks a million.

    • Those heavy Taurus planets in 1941 and 1942 are tricky to deal with. 1941 had Saturn Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus; and early March 1942 had Mars, Uranus, Saturn, Algol in Taurus.
I always think of what was going on event-wise then which makes the energy more understandable. 1942 was just after Pearl Harbour and Japan was inflicting heavy losses on the US and other allies; and Auschwitz started operating. A nightmarish time. Your relative may not have had an association with any of those events but it gives you a sense of what was in the celestial ether.
It produces tough, obstinate to the nth degree personalities, who have endurance and grit, but not much in the way of flexibility or softness. At the core of Taurus as a sign is always a power issue and engaging at a direct or confrontational level does not usually end well. Some who carry a Taurus overload lack self-awareness. Others I am never sure about, since I suspect they regard opening up as a humiliation, perhaps undermining their control. But either way you get stonewalled when you try to reason with them or appeal to their better nature. It is tricky if it is an elderly relative you are stuck in close proximity to.
I have some experience of it with others and my (maybe cowardly) response is to back off and leave them be. Keep all contact and communication superficial and light-hearted – and while it may feel false (which it is) it’s probably the best you can do in the circumstances.
I don’t tend to look at the signs in midpoints. But that may just be me.

      • Thanks Marjorie a lot for your response

Very helpful, and you hit the nail exactly on the head. Mind-blowingly stubborn and hard to talk to puts it mildly. 7 out of 10 of her planets in fixed signs, 5 of those are personal planets. The other planets are mutable, zero cardinal. I just don’t know how to manage the relationship because sometimes you need to talk about important serious things but she is not having it. I have an uneasy energy with her because of all the things not said – can’t stay in the same space.

Anyway I will goggle and read through about that time, but just that list alone that you mention says a lot. She wasn’t affected by any of it growing up in the Caribbean but as you say the energy would have been everywhere; and even read up on what was going on in the Caribbean then too.

  2. The first Olympics were held on 6th April 1896 in Athens.

The Olympics are falling out of fashion, with cities not bidding to host them, probably due to the high cost and negligable long-term benefits.

What is the best chart for the Olympics as a whole? Do any of them show the carnage at the Munich Olympics?

    • What is sad as well is that the broadcasting rights have been re-negotiated, so the BBC has two streams rather than being able to watch all the lesser known sports that might take your interest. Discovery Plus is £31 for a month to watch them. It reduces the audience appeal overall.

    • Would suggest that is more a symptom of the volatile astrology of this month (Mars-Uranus-Algol for just one) than a three week old government.

  3. I was thinking about the stars signs and their rulers. Aries, Mars, Taurus Venus etc. Then it struck me. Why is it that Venus/Mercury have two star signs Libra and Taurus, Gemini and Virgo where all other planets have one. Could all planets have a positive and negative sign? Both MercuryVenus have an Air and Earth sign. The universe is built on a positive negative balance. Like Yin and Yan. Have we been missing something with Astrology? It is time to revaluate? Could the Sun and Moon co-rule or indeed, one sign have more strength than the other and a numbers of planets in these signs require a life time of balance between the powerful planets? Saturn/Uranus. Pluto/ Jupiter? The largest and smallest of planetary energy. It is interesting the Moon/Sun stars signs, along with Pluto and Jupiter are next to each other – transforming the energy? Perhaps a little far fetched, yet it does appear odd that only two planets get more signs than others.

    • The ancients would have Mars (Scorp/Aries), Saturn (Cap/Aqua) and Jupiter (Sag/Pisces) also with double rulership. Depends how you feel about the modern rulers.

    • The ancients went with a simple set of pairings – start at Cancer and go backwards; go forwards from Leo

      Cancer Moon / Sun Leo
      Gemini – Mercury – Virgo
      Taurus – Venus – Libra
      Aries – Mars – Scorpio
      Pisces – Jupiter – Sag
      Aquarius – Saturn – Capricorn

Once Uranus/Neptune/Pluto were discovered they were dropped in as replacements.

      • @GD “They were dropped in as replacements”, also expansion of understanding to incorporate the wider world perhaps.

        • They went by what they could see in the night sky. They were astronomers too. And that included the fixed stars, which did not appear to ‘wander’ like the planets do, but rose and set or stayed visible all the time, depending on various factors. Also might explain the importance of retrogrades, since a retro planet appears to increase in size as it draws closer to Earth during its orbit.

Venus is now visible, at last, in the evening. When she seems to disappear, she’s symbolically on her way to the underworld – as in so many ancient myths where a goddess descends, only to reappear or be reborn. The pentagram shape, or rose of Venus, is formed by the planet’s orbital path in relation to Earth over eight years. I’ve always found this very beautiful to think about. Ancient astrologer/astronomers would have observed the pattern over time. I love a bit of visible astrology!

      • The weird thing is . I recently purchased Nick Campion’s History of Western Astrology Volumes 1 & 2. They have been sitting on my bedside table for weeks. I used to do psychometry years ago. I was quite adept at it. I read the first page of volume 1 a few weeks ago, yet have been distracted. Maybe my old skills have resurfaced? I always had positive comments when I did it for friends. I also own a crystal, ball. Looked into it once and it came true. Decided I didn’t wish to look again. Now gathering dust in a cupboard!

        .

    • @anna, RFK Jr. ?
      Seriously?
The guy who got caught talking to Trump on the phone the other day discussing their shared vaccine skepticism?
      Ha,ha,ha!!

      RFK Jr. is a troll.

  4. Now that it’s certain Kamala Harris will be the nominee (Joe Biden, Hillary & Bill Clinton, and most of the Democratic Party has already endorsed her…plus, the big donors have returned and endorsed her, and even a super pac that supported Nikki Haley just endorsed Kamala Harris), I’m curious to see who Kamala Harris chooses to be her running mate.

Many people believe Kamala Harris will choose either choose Democratic Governor Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania, Democratic Governor Roy Cooper of North Carolina, or Democratic Governor Andy Beshear of Kentucky. All 3 of these Governors are term limited and completing their final year in office this year.

Personally, I think Roy Cooper would be the most strategic choice since he does represent a much needed swing state (North Carolina), he’s from the Upland South (a region where Democrats should try to regain support), he’s a moderate, and he would likely appear to Great Lakes voters in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, like he would in Appalachia….but I digress.

Anyway, I was wondering what the astrology suggests for these 3 potential picks.

    • I agree that Kamala needs a white male to balance the ticket. and I agree that Cooper would be the best choice since he only has a couple of months left in office and represents a purplish state that last went Democrat with Obama in 2008 and would make it almost impossible for Trump to get to 270 electoral votes.

The only problem is wing-nut Mark Robinson would be governor for a couple of months but maybe being front and center will show North Carolinians he shouldn’t be elected governor in November.

Legislatively it wouldn’t make much of a difference since Republicans already have a veto-proof majority in both houses of the NC legislature.

      • @ Roderick,

That’s true. North Carolina, like my state (Florida) took a hard swing to the right in the 2010s – they went from having at least one Democratic U.S. Senator (the late Kay Hagan) and a Democratic controlled state legislature to an almost complete Republican takeover after 2010.

So, having a Democratic Governor in North Carolina only softens some of the blow….because that Republican veto proof state legislature holds much of the power now.

However, having Roy Cooper on the ticket might (keeping fingers crossed) help Kamala Harris get the state’s Electoral votes (a big maybe) or at least drive more Democratic turnout in some of the Southern States where there might be competitive Congressional races.

All in all, I think Roy Cooper would be the most strategic of the 4 big names I’ve been reading about. Josh Shapiro would be a close second.

          • @ larryc,

I don’t see Kamala Harris picking Gretchen Whitmer.

The United States is still lagging behind other nations of the Global North when it comes to social attitudes and misogyny still plagues this country.

I mean, we couldn’t get Hillary Clinton (the most qualified candidate ever) elected in 2016…and I’m sure Kamala Harris is going to be facing the same challenges Hillary Clinton had to face…so, adding Gretchen Whitmer to the equation would only add more fuel to the fire.

Personally, I think it would be nice to see a woman ticket…but I don’t trust the current electorate to share my feelings.

          • Two women on the same ticket when we’ve never elected a female president?
I think that’s asking too much.
Basically it would be two men against two women and I think that the female ticket would lose.

        • I’ve heard that a lot of retirees are moving from Florida to NC and SC due to the high cost of living in Florida so that may not make the demographics favorable to Democrats in November.

          • @ Roderick,

This is true. However, you might be surprised because many Florida Natives (the seniors) still identify as ancestral Democrats (and will still vote for Democrats if they like the candidate).

I live in Northeast Florida and this part of the state is still home to many Floridians who’s families date back to the late 19th century and early 20th century….and many seniors I know still self identify as Democrats (even if they’re not always party line voters).

So, if these are people moving to North Carolina…then perhaps there’s hope for that state.

It’s the more recent transplants from New York, New England, California, and Midwest who have made Florida a “red state.”

Many of these transplants are conservative and they came here in the 2010s trying to escape the state taxes in their home states.

        • Chris – I finished listening to the Kentuckian respond to JD Vance summary of Harris. The Kentuckian responded that Vance has no conviction but “his running mate Trump has 34 of them.” His voice had steel in it…and continued that any of the other potential VP candidates would eat Vance’s lunch. The CNN moderator snickered at that. How to convey the message without resorting to demeaning and vulgar Trumpian language.

          • Beshear needs to stay in Kentucky because McConnell isn’t running for reelection in 2026 so maybe the Dems could snag that seat with Beshear as their candidate

        • @ anna,

Which is exactly why Mark Kelly is needed more in the U.S. Senate. Arizona is not a blue state yet…and if Mark Kelly takes the VP slot, then Democrats are basically giving up a vital Senate seat (and Democrats are, as of now, slated to lose control of the Senate this year).

I know Arizona’s Governor Katie Hobbs would replace Kelly with another Democratic Senator….but then there would be the question of whether the new candidate would be as strong as Kelly and could win future elections.

          • a brain twister for you Chris et al…say Biden said he would leave but then endorsed Kamala knowing the delegates are faithful to Biden and knowing that others do not want Kamala…what then? pretty nice passive aggression show?

  5. Marjorie,

Hats off to you. You got the predictions for July almost exactly right.

This is text from your article on the Republican Convention.

“On Trump’s chart the tr Uranus Mars is exactly square his Mars in Leo – which for a normal human being might look like an almighty shock putting severe strain on their heart. But with Trump who knows? He will be discouraged and pushing boulders uphill with tr Pluto opposition his Saturn/Pluto midpoint and confused with tr Neptune square his Mercury/Node midpoint which could indicate disappointments within a community. Though tr Jupiter is still sailing across his 10th house keeping him in the headlines and spotlight.

Joe Biden looks rattled over the Republican Convention with tr Uranus square his Mars/Saturn midpoint – though that might be other matters out on the global scene involving military decisions. Or indeed an accident-prone phase for him personally. That influence runs till early August.”

Absolutely spot-on for both Trump and Biden.

    • @ UM, maybe Jupiter had something to do with Trump’s ridiculously long (and incoherent) acceptance speech.
      Ha,ha,ha!!!

      • The 90-minute talk-a-thon. Fact checking was done by analysts…lots of “gaps”. He may be high on being King (courtesy of scotus).

I’m quite sad about Biden backing out…probably inevitable. Today is a full moon over Seattle…so yesterday was near enough.

        Well, need some sleep

        • @ larryc
Why are you sad about Biden.
He accomplished his life-long dream of becoming president and he prevented a second Trump term and probably saved democracy or at least prolonged the inevitable if Trump is elected in November.

I wish that Democrats would stop thinking with their emotions.

Politics isn’t about feelings it is about creating policies–hopefully policies that endure and assist as many people as possible.

    • @ Troy,

Nope, Gretchen Whitmer already announced she’s not seeking the nomination and I believe she endorsed Kamala Harris (I think, I’d have to double check).

It was also announced that North Carolina is releasing all of its pledged delegates to Kamala Harris…and other states are expected to follow suit. One news source reported that it’s believed that Kamala Harris has the needed number of delegates going into the convention

  6. Biden has pulled out of the Presidential contest. Exactly when tr Pluto was square his Moon.

Same thing happened to Boris. He resigned as Member of Parliament, ending his political career, when tr Pluto was exactly square his Moon.

    • His moon is tightly quincunx his 10th house Libra Neptune and that has been taking a trine from transiting Pluto over the last month; so perhaps that softened the blow as he realised it was time to formulate new dreams or something.

      • Mars’s ingress into Gemini today also ties into Biden’s Uranus at 2 Gemini, his Moon at 0 degrees Taurus, his 1 degree Libra Neptune as well as squaring his NN at 0 Virgo. Lots of new beginnings. But Saturn is directly opposing his Midheaven, having recently moved forward onto that point. The Moon today went into Aquarius and conjunct Pluto.

        • Good spotting VF – all adding up to why the decision came today.

I’d add that with transit Pluto square Moon – he’s going to be moving house!

          • I wonder about Kamala. Her Jupiter return was right on top of the Jupiter / Uranus conjunction in April at 24 Taurus, and Jupiter will be very close to her AC across the election, but then cycles backwards to square her fourth house Virgo planets by January. I tend to whole sign, so do see it as a First House Jupiter from its ingress into Gemini, and take it as the traditional ruler of her Piscean MC and 10th house. That said, it is labouring under a protracted square to Saturn transiting her 10th as well.

      • @LizM, politically it was inevitable once the narrative focused exclusively on Biden’s physical and cognitive decline (which I think was accelerated by his son’s prosecution while he was dealing with two wars), while ignoring Trump’s own cognitive decline and increasingly erratic behavior and totalitarian proposals/plans. As they say, “politics ain’t beanbag” and is often unfair and cruel. Biden’s a good, decent man. I wish him a long, healthy life and successful, productive post-presidency.

        • @ Nicole,

This is my take as well. I believe the stress of dealing with the Gaza protesters, his son’s legal troubles, and the relentless negative news coverage about his age were the breaking points.

I too think Joe Biden has been a good President and I wish him well after he completes his term. He’s done a good job considering the mess he inherited from the Trump administration.

Biden helped strengthen and expand NATO, he’s stood by Ukraine, he helped lower the cost of prescription drugs, got the Infrastructure Bill through, and too many other accomplishments to list.

So, I appreciate everything Biden has done for us. I support his decision to pass the torch to Kamala Harris.

The only thing that disappoints me (infuriates me, to be frank) is how all of this came about. I think our news media acted unprofessionally by drumming up ageism and speculating Biden’s cognitive abilities instead of simply reporting facts and focusing on his policies. It also annoyed me that Donald Trump managed to evade much of the same criticism and negative news coverage.

  7. President Biden dropped out of the Presidential Race. My news notification came 20:53 EEST, so I guess announcement was given around 13:50 ESS.

      • The Republicans and Trump will have to pivot fast. I see Joe has endorsed Kamala Harris so I’m guessing she’s in for a tumultuous time and no doubt a childish nickname! The World feels very uncomfortable right now.

        • They’ve pivoted, “former President Donald Trump described Biden going “down as the single worst president by far in the history of our country.” “

    • The GOP hyenas are now calling for Biden to resign. Dropping out of the race is not sufficient.

Yet they’ll support a convicted criminal. Cadet Convict BoneSpur.

Have to say, this is very upsetting.

      • They really are a bunch of classless dicks. Any civilised group of people would throw some plaudits and let him see out these last 4-6months in peace. And even if they couldn’t find any plaudits, they could just have muttered something appropriate.

  8. Anna: That is indeed nice news about the dog. If I could, I would rescue every neglected, suffering, abandoned animal on the planet. Over the years I’ve rescued quite a few from dire circumstances. My friends call me “the caped canine crusader” (lol). Just wish I could do more. Re the doldrums, etc., many are experiencing, what I’m going through now is what I’ve been going through ever since Pluto entered my 12th house in 2008. Dealing with huge regret over past mistakes–dredged up by Pluto. Looking forward to Pluto moving more decisively into my first house (I think).

    • I have Pluto in my 12th right now too–it’s not moving on for another ten years! I’m 65 and come from a family in which a bunch of the immediate ancestors died in their 60s and 70s. My dad is 91 and his mom made it to 96 so—maybe I’ll get to see Pluto in my 1st, maybe I won’t. I’m not having an particular personal problems right now (I think it’s because I’m older & retired–much less drama with this lifestyle.)

To me all the problems – everything – arises out of the climate crisis. All living things have to have a place to live that has some stability. We don’t have that and we are making weather systems even more unstable. I also think, it’s ironic that human ingenuity has made ecological systems go kablooey — human ingenuity has helped us overcome some of the limitations presented by the environment, but now we’ve messed it up–like Mickey Mouse in the Sorcerer’s Apprentice.

I’m thinking how that Mickey Mouse in Scorerer’s Apprentice also could be applied to some of the “world leaders” and “business leaders” — they have power, but they are fools & don’t know how to handle it.

I will add, however, that I’m not feeling as anxious as I did when Trump was actually in office. That was awful. I was still teaching–my students are the potential targets of the bad stuff in Project 2025 — I found the threat terrifying and felt so powerless and a failure in terms of giving kids a better world. This last week was similar in terms of how much happened. Note how much of what happened showed up in “news”/”media”/”social media” and how the immature behavior got the most coverage. I was a teacher and thought my job was to help people obtain the skills they needed to find their way in the world so that they could take care of themselves and their families. It seems to me, as I look at the world through these media snippets that that aim is second to enjoying a bout of WWWE wrestling.

On the good news side: This year, in my neighborhood, we have an abundance of butterflies. A pair of Great Horned Owls have moved into some palm trees on my street (they hoot at one another, it’s very romantic!), I’ve seen some other birds too that I thought had moved out of the city.

And loads and loads of dogs! My neighborhood is a doggy hub.

      • I’m wondering if the unaddressed worsening climate crisis, along with the negative political energy, is part of that “jangled” energy people I ask are experiencing?

Where do you live, KG? The horned owls in the palms intrigue me. We have palms, but no owls, outside outside our beach-front condo in San Diego.

  9. Nice news :).A remarkable tale of animal heroism unfolded when a 10-year-old Basset Hound ran away from her neglectful home and saved tens of other animals. The dog, now aptly named Hero, escaped wearing an ID tag that led animal control officers to a house with 38 animals in dire need of rescue.

Hero sparked a rescue effort that saved 36 dogs, a chicken, and a cat from a life of neglect and suffering. The shelter staff recognised the dogs’ incredible bravery when naming her.

  10. I’ve been experiencing an extreme edginess and anxiety these last few months (or longer) and have informally begun asking friends and family across the US with diverse political views whether they also are experiencing this anxiety. The consensus is yes, and it crosses geography, ideological lines and belief systems.

My question is this: with such a wonderfully diverse readership around the world, are you also experiencing this low-level but deep-seated edginess and anxiety — which I describe as feeling “jangled” — or this just in the US with our fraught election season, or people experiencing this disrupted energy world-wide?

Are there any astrological reasons or markers or indications for this type of sustained energy/emotion/experience?

Thanks for any insight you all can offer.

    • Me too. An anaretic Neptune right at the end of the zodiac, with Saturn in co-presence now through to 2028 is one of the main culprits, I think. “This too will pass”, yes, but is of less consolation right around now.

    • As a species we have been through the terrible fear of the pandemic, with so much
unresolved grief lack of accountability and blame swirling around. Followed swiftly by two dreadful wars that ramp up the threat of nuclear extinction, coupled with fear over climate extinction, the threat of AI and the dawning realisation of the universal impact of forever chemicals.
Its no wonder we feel jangled and anxious, we are just animals under threat and in collective fight or flight mode, even if it is largely self created as a species.
Astrologically, definitely the last degree of Neptune in Pisces, sextile Uranus in Taurus doesnt help.
Watching the Uranus in Taurus passage it has seemed a very destabilising earthquake like position. And the shift from Pluto in Capricorn to Aquarius, an extended process from institution to revolution that adds to the sense of shaky ground underfoot.
And then Jupiter in Gemini expanding nervous energy and the most inflammatory aspects of the press, public speculation and online trolling.
I use the Gemini analogy to remind myself to do breathing exercises like the 4/7/8 breath which is simple and easily achievable. Or any exercise that slows your breathing down.
When doom scrolling, I catch myself holding my breath and my shoulders round my ears, it doesnt help 😉

      • That’s a good point about Jupiter in Gemini. It’s currently at the top of my natal chart and rather than giving a feeling of expansiveness and optimism, it seems to be amplifying the ‘jangling’ of my nervous system and I feel more fraught and anxious than ususal.

On September 3rd – 4th this year, Pluto goes back into Capricorn at 29 degrees while Uranus is at 27 Taurus, Mars is 29 Gemini, Neptune 28 Pisces, a whole raft of anuretic degrees.

    • @ Nicole,

You are definitely not the only one! I’ve been experiencing horrible mental anguish this year and much of it stems from personal issues rather than politics.

I’m an Aries Sun with a Scorpio ascendant (I also have a Saturn-ascendant conjunction) and my anxiety and mental health started worsening shortly before the major eclipse. I’m still oscillating between feeling “ok,” anxious, and depressed at times.

I did remember reading a forecast last year that Aries would probably struggle with their mental health in 2024 but I don’t remember the aspects mentioned that lead to such a prediction.

I know my Moon is in Leo in the 9th House and I do have a -106 square between Moon and Saturn. So, I’ve often wondered if that contributed to the anxiety and mental health issues I’ve had to deal with for many, many years.

Anyway, I haven’t looked at any processed charts for myself…but I have talked to other Aries and they tell me they too have been dealing with unprecedented anxiety and depression this year.

So, I too am wondering what is going astrologically that appears to be causing this.

      • It could be Chiron in Aires conjuncting their Sun if they were born mid to end of Aires, particularly if they are the generation having the Chiron return.
Or if early Aireans then Neptune coming into conjunction with their Suns, or North node in Aires or a combination of all 3 depending if Mercury and Venus are in Aires.
Along with any other computation in their charts/transits etc kicking off the Aires positions.

    • I think many people are, I’m not experiencing it but due to being an election year and the collective not knowing what to expect, many are. I think our political process in the U.S. runs way too long and should be cut shorter. We become impatient and jittery like children waiting for Christmas.

Hillary is trending on X today as many are saying she will be stepping in if Biden ever decides to step down. Came over to ask Marjorie what she sees in Hillary’s chart. I said recently that Kamala’s progressed midheaven is 2 Taurus which is opposite Hillary’s Sun and Trump’s progressed (or perhaps Solar Arc, can’t remember) ascendant is 14 Scorpio which was Hillary’s ascendant before rectification.
Hard to be patient and calm with so much at stake.

      • Marjorie did do a post on Hillary in 2023 with her solar arc chart for Nov 2024:

“What is marginally worrisome is that her Mars Pluto conjunction will have moved by Solar Arc to exactly conjunct her Sun come the election in late 2024 and just beyond. That is acutely frustrating, scary and blocked. She will not be a happy lady.”

I noticed that Hillary’s Solar arc ascendant is also Trump’s ascendant, 29 Leo at this time.

And with Trump’s being 14 Scorpio, that is square Hillary’s Mars/Pluto in Leo.

If Hillary does throw her hat in the ring, it could possibly be around Tuesday when transit Venus is opposite her midheaven.

      • @Maggie, I agree the US perpetual election cycle is way too long. We never catch a break from the incessant, increasingly nasty politicking. I much prefer the British approach of an approximately six-week campaign season. Think how all that money could be better used than on campaign ads, etc !

About Hillary — not going to happen. She has the same age issues when everyone is hungering for a generational change in leadership. Also, Trump beat her once and she ran a rotten campaign. If Hillary “returns” it would only be as an advisor. This is one of the few political “predictions” I’m comfortable making!

        • Nicole, I’ve tuned out a lot the past month. Cancer diagnosis for one brother along with his girlfriend (same week!) His wife died 3 years ago of cancer and we’d been so happy he found a lovely woman. Our daughter is a month away from delivering our first grandchild and my mind is elsewhere because of it. Anyway, election season gets to be too much, six weeks would be so much nicer, even two months.
Not much really to say about Hillary except she’s not the type to give up easily. Who do u think it will be?

        • Nicole. And so say all of us – the US obsession with elections is bizarre, relentless and omnipresent – it never goes away.

    • Nicole – I’d say yes, many people I know are experiencing this, all age groups too. A number have said things feel different since the pandemic, even those who didn’t lose anyone dear to them. There are always hideous wars going on somewhere, but recent conflicts are very alarming – not least because most of us cannot do anything to stop them, or even understand them fully.
There is a lot of anger floating around in society – some may be connected with Pluto moving from Capricorn to Aquarius. Things are still surfacing from Pluto in Capricorn, and the ruthless pursuit of profit while ignoring people’s wellbeing is being exposed one way or another everywhere. So much homelessness, so many working and yet still not able to afford a perfectly ordinary life.
As for Neptune in Pisces…..fine and dandy if you can float around, or be creative. Otherwise, it is so foggy we cannot see clearly. Personally, I find walking anywhere with lots of trees very helpful, or by the sea. Also, more music, less news and perhaps more cake! We move towards the transition of all the outer planets, and hope for a few joyful improvements.

      • I like Cake. I went to a Dog Park yesterday (I do not have a dog) but friends own it, so I went. That helped a lot.

The wars currently happening are a continuation of WW2, especially Ukraine. So, for insight as to what is going on there – best to understand WW1 and WW2. It is why some of the older statesmen are so worried – as they remember.

    • hi Nicole it is the same everywhere. You can see it etched on faces everywhere. It is really helpful to just talk to strangers even 2 words just seems to break the surface tension because it seems like we are all bumping up and into some invisible net and it helps to acknowledge we are ALL feeling “it”. All things pass.

    • I put it down to the outer planets having moved into the universal signs (e.g. Sag/Capricorn/Aqua/Pisces) over the past 20-30yrs. The combo of Pluto in Capricorn (external security) and Neptune in Pisces (victimhood) over the past decade have exacerbated this stuff.

And it is somewhat endemic. More often than not, anxious people try to relieve their anxiety by cutting off, acting up or pushing it onto others – which creates stress for otherwise unstressed people.

    • Everyone I know – bar one or two who aren’t saying – are in a state of hyper-anxiety, more than usual, and unclear what comes next. It isn’t just the political mayhem and global chaos that is the worry (tho’ that too) – there are most often personal life challenges ongoing at the same time.
My thoughts are it is a result of
      a) the shift of the outer planets giving us a sense that we are standing on shifting tectonic plates which is scary with no clear sense of how/when it will stabilize.
      b) Because of the above, the global situation is ‘fluid’, confusing and scary – and those of us with porous psychological boundaries are soaking in the anxiety from others, adding to our own. Being able to distinguish between what is ‘my worry’ and what is an imported ‘other people’s worry’ is tricky but can help. It is similar to being in company with a depressed or agitated companion and taking on board their state of mind. Except in this case it involves soaking in the world’s worries. Putting down boundaries is important, which can feel selfish – but you can’t save everyone.
      c) Solar activity is heightened at the moment – see post 25 March 2023 under Solar Activity in search. Most of the past episodes of such, have planets in last decan Fixed signs – and if there is heightened electrical or whatever jangle coming down from the cosmos it will mess with brain functioning.
It may be worse in the USA than in Europe because of wholesale panic amongst some at the prospect of Trump who is seen as practically the anti-Christ taking over. This is still thinking in progress but my sense is that the USA has survived worse – GW Bush and that whole Iraq debacle, Nixon, the assassination-prone 1960s, Vietnam, McCarthy etc etc – and it could well be if DT does totter into the White House that it is not as bad as expected.
Somewhere behind that is the thought that Americans are finally being forced to face up to what the USA is all about. There is so much confected froth in the US brand image about niceness, being better, braver, more moral than others that it obscures the violent and often sordid reality. (And no I don’t want a diatribe about the UK not being ones to blow their own trumpet. I know that the Brits have unpleasant characteristics and history. But whataboutery is a distraction.) The tearing down of America’s façade may be a consequence of the aftermath of the Pluto Return.
      Anyway these are tentative ruminations.

      • Thanks for this. Yes, we are all nervous and the ramped up near hysteria of our debates, discourse and language is frightening. I can see that so many outer planets finishing up in signs at the same time is unsettling. Will things look different when they move on in sextiles to each other and Jupiter for a while ? (ever the optimist…..)

      • Thank you, Marjorie and everyone, for your thoughts and insight.

This is so helpful, knowing that what my husband and I are experiencing — and the friends I’ve been asking — is not unique to us or even to our turbulent and unsettled country.

“Political mayhem and global crisis” — precisely, and feeling helpless to do anything constructive about it. I’m actively trying to find small steps I can take that will make me feel I’m doing something to alleviate the multiple crises, or at least lessen my anxiety.

I hope we in the US do take a long and hard look at ourselves and examine that ingrained concept of “American exceptionalism” which I’ve always found troubling and destructive, both internally and internationally.

I’m also making a real effort to talk to people, especially those I disagree with, and listen to what they’re saying, really saying, and to be kind. Kindness, especially now, seems extremely important.

Again, thank you all so much!

    • Yes definitely. My jangled emotions have disturbed me as I’m such a stoic & resilient person. I actually ordered a chart reading from Marjorie a few weeks ago as I’ve been so edgy… I recommend this (not being edgy, but having M look at your chart!)

I have had some bad luck on the job front, but normally I can cope with anything. At the moment everything feels very fraught, and I am definitely worried about either Trump or Biden being elected, I’m also convinced there will be a market crash in 2025. Normally I would just ride these things out. I am both British & American & have lived in both countries, so news from both effects me.

  11. Passing thought: Labour’s plans for housing and planning law reform will most likely include transferring power to block large infrastructure projects from local government to national government.

But really speaking, local government is about half a dozen hyper-involved individuals that really take the decisions, with the others going along with them because they haven’t got the time or inclination to be involved in decision-making.

So essentially Labour’s plans are a transfer of power from the individual to the larger collective (in this case, the national government).

This is roughly what I saw would happen when Pluto (power) moves in Aquarius (the collective). I’d invite astrological thoughts on this. Is this how you’d see Pluto in Aquarius?

A further prediction is that the same could also happen in the EU, with the EU centralising, and powers moving from member-states to the EU Commission/hierarchy.

  12. A comparison of the Biden and Obama charts might be relevant right now. There’s quite a lot of speculation about Obama having a major role in whether or not Biden continues as the Democratic candidate for president.

I see that T Pluto is conjunct Obama’s natal Jupiter in the 12th, which indeed looks like powerful potential for political leadership/persuasion/influence behind the scene.

  13. I’m astrologically intrigued by the effect the assassination attempt seems to have had on Trump. Reports on his speeches at the RNC seem to suggest he has been somewhat subdued and he’s stated he’s here by the grace of Almighty God.

Of course, I’m not suggesting this means he will change and become a nicer, more caring person but it does seem to have had a Uranian shocking effect of upending him. If anything, I’d expect him to become even more self-believing that he is untouchable and can do whatever he wants because he is protected. In more normal people, they might see it as a chance to review their life and mend their ways.

It occurs to me he has a Sag moon which is often so philosophical and willing to attribute stuff to the gods. His was hit by quincunx/inconjunct transit back in April – so it’s a bit late for that to be at play here. But that is the action of a quincunx transit (as Bernadette Brady says) – like a new actor entering the stage, disrupting and then everything starts afresh.

His 9th house has Aries on the cusp – so that can easily be someone who seems themselves as a god. And of course, with his Leo ascendant he sees himself as a King already.

The attempt took place as Uranus was crossing his ascendant so exiting his 9th.

His natal Jupiter is in the 2nd house of self-worth – so again another indicator of why he thinks of himself so highly.

This was just the first pass of Uranus and it will be back in the same place on Oct 23rd and April 29th. Will be interesting to see what crops up then.

    • Perhaps nothing has changed. According to his latest rally speech,

““I got along very well with President Xi, who’s a great guy, he wrote me a beautiful note the other day when he heard about what happened, and he wrote me a beautiful — most of the leaders did, you know, a lot of them didn’t like what I was doing to them, but they also knew it was about time, the jig was up, right? It was about time. But they wrote me, almost all of them wrote me notes. It was nice. No, I have a good relationship with all of them. That’s a good thing,” Trump said at his rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan. ”

A long, rambling, ambling that speaks about “beautiful letters” and disconnected thoughts about world leaders. The reflection about his life just might have taken a turn toward the mirror – aligned with your quote: “His natal Jupiter is in the 2nd house of self-worth – so again another indicator of why he thinks of himself so highly.”

His followers now wear beige-colored bandages. To match the Chosen One. And he has returned to cat-calling Dems. Nothing significant has changed.

      • Probably not Larry. I suspect it’s very much like when people get a speeding ticket. They drive carefully for the next couple of weeks and then return to old habits.

At 78 years old, he’s not going to change for the better. I do wonder if this might cause him to become even more Messianic (if it’s possible for him to be more!).

Transiting Uranus over the MC really should bring a new image – even if nothing has changed deepdown.

  14. Fast, unexpected and very thorough response from Professor Louis Appleby, University of Manchester
Department of Health and Social Care adviser on suicide prevention, to the irresponsible scaremongering about suicide and the puberty blocker ban from Jolyon Maugham the tax lawyer behind the activist Good Law Project.

That the GLP are directly mentioned in the Times article is very impressive and a slap in the face to the dangerous histronics of activists like Maugham.
They have been crowdfunding huge sums for years whilst almost never winning a case, usually out of incompetency.

    • From the Crowdstrike statement of incorporation:

“..The original Certificate of Incorporation of the corporation was filed with the Secretary of State of the State of Delaware on November 7, 2011.”

Quick glance at the ephemeris back then shows a Mars-Neptune opposition, now being T-squared by the Mars-Uranus-Algol pile up.

  15. Lots of deaths of high-profle/famous people at the moment. Seems like many sudden endings & changes are happening. I’m convinced Biden is going to announce he’s stepping down shortly.

  16. Marjorie. Was there an indicator in Trump’s chart on the assassination chart date for assassination or even just injury to the ears? My quick checking showed 3rd and 11th houses are associated with the ears so maybe a square to planets there? Curious as I am not an astrologer. Might be good for rectifying his chart or his candidacy chart.

  17. Marjorie in an article you wrote about 2025 (not long folks) you said “ I must admit to having a fascination for configurations – and which not only spark off singular events but will also produce fascinating children.” what did you mean by fascinating children?

  18. Joy Reid (MSNBC) has been getting her own coverage for questioning the assassination attempt saying it could have been glass that hit Trump. Yesterday she said Biden’s Covid was “exactly same thing” as the assassination attempt. She has said controversial things previously in a blog (which she has apologized for) but wondering what her chart shows. Checked and didn’t see that you had covered her before.

    • It’s so weird. A pellet (intentionally using the wrong word here) traveling at approx 3000 ft per second (per what a marksman has stated) from 148 yards away would have removed the ear and part of his skull. It’s not going to merely nick it. It’s a WMD. If it were a shard based on velocity, there would be copious shards in his toupee, all over his face and on his shirt.

      • It’s not a pellet, it’s a bullet. It does not break up or deform until it strikes a semisolid or solid object. A glancing blow would only partially /lightly wound him- so a bit of his ear is quite reasonable to expect. If it did hit him in the skull proper it would do massive damage if not kill him outright. It didn’t. Smaller calibers would do this as well. “Weapon of war” is a misleading point. A standard hunting rifle would do the same. An accurate shot would be the reason for a more severe wound. And—The likelihood of a staged attack is ridiculous to consider. It would be incredibly difficult to pull that off. I’m ex-military and always qualified as expert with weapons and would need quite some luck to succeed with a near miss /glancing shot. A really good sniper can do it with right gear/rifle combo and PERFECT conditions. Witness the Secret Service shooter who took out the assassin with a head shot.

        • I used the word pellet intentionally because I thought my comment might be moderated if I used the word bullet. Another marksman said something much different. That’s why I posted what I did. In any event, I would like to hear from the doctor who treated him. I would like to hear how it was treated, the prognosis for healing and whether or not there are any after effects such as hearing loss
or ringing in the ears. Since there are international geopolitical implications, I don’t think that’s too much to ask.

          • Don’t bet on his health records being released. (He just BSes about himself) Tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and hearing loss are not likely from a shot passing near him. I have both conditions so I am aware of how this progresses. The tinnitus is annoying but hardly will stop anyone from living their life. The injury was reported as to the upper exterior part of his ear not within his skull thus likely a cosmetic issue. Don’t worry about this injury. Worry about if he gets elected as he is thoroughly untrustworthy for America.

          • “Dr. Sanjay Gupta: There are still key questions about Trump’s injuries after attempted assassination”

Updated 8:18 PM EDT, Thu July 18, 2024

From the article: what we’ve been told by the campaign offers very little insight into the former president’s condition, what kind of care he received or how his medical team will monitor him in the days and weeks ahead.

  19. Aim: True what you say about Trump not looking well. How can a person live on Big Macs, french fries and diet Coke, eschew physical exercise, be many pounds overweight (obese actually) and (by his own admission) get little sleep and not suffer the health consequences? The human body can take only so much abuse.

    • @ Julie,

I was thinking the same thing. I’ve been studying health astrology for awhile now…but I haven’t looked at Trump’s chart.

Given Trump’s atrocious diet of sodas, fattening fast food, highly processed foods, fried and greasy foods, I’ve often thought he was a ticking time bomb.

I’ve noticed people with a negatively aspected sun in their chart tend to be more at risk for heart disease or congestive heart failure.

Has anyone looked at Trump’s Chiron or his 6th, 8th, or 12th Houses with regards to health and longevity?

        • @ LizM,

That is interesting. I haven’t really studied asteroids…I used to think they were insignificant and I didn’t pay much attention to them when I began learning charts. However, I know some well-known astrologers such as Michael O’Reilly and Alex Miller see great significance in asteroids.

  20. The International Monetary Fund has urged Joe Biden to raise taxes to tackle the growing federal debt problem in the US as it carried out a healthcheck on the American economy.

The IMF said the government should even raise taxes on households earning less than the President’s $400,000-a-year threshold.

US debt stands at a record high of $34.9 trillion. Is there going to be a delay or default black swan on debt repayment?

  21. As a reminder, I said Biden would likely have a notably bad day on the 16th. Well he was diagnosed with Covid yesterday. Likely caught the virus at least the day before the diagnosis. So that’s two stripes for his rectified 6:37am BT so far.
I said in the JD Vance post that the last week of August should be particularly rough for Biden, so let’s see how this one pans out.

    • Hi Troy. A Vedic astrologer whom I enjoy reading said they should change the date for convention to around 8/10. He also said that establishment Dems are going to be giving him a very hard time during convention. This astrologer corrected predicted 2020. Why can’t these Dems be private about this? I don’t get this because JDV was not a good pick, IMO. So, why the panic? FWIW, when I had a reading with a Hellenistic astrologer right before the 2020 election, he drew a Tarot card with my concern/question about Trump. It was the chariot card. He was not happy with it and it gave him such pause but I thought it meant that T would flee the country. I still think that he might! Someone online said R’s have no morals and D’s have no spine…R’s always unite around their leader. Trump looks awful lately, not healthy, IMO. Yet, R’s don’t seem concerned.

      • @Aim: We’ll see how the astro plays out.
As to the meat of the moment, there’s panic because time is of the essence. No room to beat around the bush and be discreet. They have to get Biden out ASAP then run the shortest Presidential campaign in U.S history. Yes the new nominee would largely inherit the machinery that is already the Biden campaign but that individual still has a short time to familiarize the public with them(especially if it’s not Harris who has some recognition already).
Everyone needs to put sentimentality and emotions aside and accept reality. This is not about blind loyalty. Biden is deteriorating fairly quickly, so get a move on with preparing a new nominee. And there are many outside of Harris who are worthy. She’s not entitled to the nomination so she should be challenged at the Convention. If she beats her competition, then she’s earned it.

        • @ Troy, the problem is that voters won’t get a say in who the nominee however it turns out; it will be up to the delegates or super delegates to decide who the nominees are.

Yes, I will vote for the ticket whoever is on it, but you know what they say about Democratic voters-it is like herding cats.

          • @Roderick: The voters may not have a direct say…but but but, I guarantee if there’s an open Convention scenario, internal party polling firms will test various candidates in the field and the feedback will be the voters voice. The only catch is most voters are not familiar with the other potential picks as much as they know Harris. So the pollsters would have to focus on the voters that say they are mostly aware of all the candidates. And I’ll bet that in such a group, if the poll is properly weighted, Harris would not be the favorite.
            Interesting times ahead

  22. Hi Marjorie,

Venezuela is having its Presidential election on July 28th and polling (if it’s to be trusted) indicates that Nicolas Maduro could be in trouble. Of course, this is assuming the election will be a fair one.

Analysts and human rights groups are reporting that Maduro and associates are having journalists, students, and anyone else opposing him arrested. Newspapers and magazines are being monitored and anything perceived as negative coverage is being censored.

According to the Council on Foreign Relations think tank, Venezuela is currently the largest source country for refugees here in the Americas and nearly 8 million Venezuelans have fled the country since Maduro’s last Electoral victory – many of whom are educated and young.

The New York Times reports that even more Venezuelan citizens are threatening to leave the country if Maduro wins again – which will create another potential humanitarian crisis.

Most Venezuelan refugees have settled in other Latin American or Caribbean countries and it’s putting a strain on these countries. Colombia alone is already hosting 3 million Venezuelans.

Anyway, I’m wondering what the astrology suggests for all of this.
