The Golden State Killer has been nailed by DNA after nearly half a century. He reputedly committed at least 12 murders and 45 rapes between the years of 1976 and 1986, and terrorized California communities.
Joseph James DeAngelo, 8 November 1945, was a decorated Navy veteran from the Vietnam War, who on his return earned a degree in police science and another in criminal justice. Many of the crimes were when he was an acting police officer.
He’s a Sun Scorpio square Pluto in Leo, so doubly intense and sexualised, into power and control. Even more significant is his Mars Saturn in Cancer conjunction square Venus in Libra. Mars Saturn can be cruel and many of the crimes included torture. His emotional responses would be very twisted. His Moon is probably late Sagittarius.
His 9th Harmonic – what gives him pleasure – has a brutal Mars Pluto Sun tie up. And his 18th Harmonic, common amongst mass killers, is heavily aspected.
At the moment his Solar Arc Sun is opposing his Mars as he got the shock of his life and was finally arrested.

One of the ways they were able to track him down was using genealogy sites and his DNA.
Not sure if people realise he raped children as young as thirteen during his early rape spree. One girl’s parents were in the house, while he raped and tortured her unknown to them. Her Dad died early, no surprises there. He had the shock of her coming into their bedroom tied up, after this goon left.
Thanks Marjorie, have been listening to a podcast called Criminology that has devoted this season to this case. They have gone over the rapes and the murders of a husband and wife so far and suddenly this break in the case yesterday. He was one strange man, same M.O. with every rape which would include taking time out to go to the kitchen and eat. If a man was home, he would have the wife tie him up and then place dishes on the husband’s back threatening that he would kill the wife if he heard the dishes move or break. He would also call his victims and hang up for weeks before the break ins. I had wondered how he knew their numbers and thought perhaps he worked for the phone company but being a policeman makes even more sense. Maybe someday we’ll learn who the Zodiac killer was.
Back in the 1970’s our telephones had the number clearly visible on phone! And he was definitely in the homes of his victims prior to the attacks! Even removing guns or bullets from firearms!

I doubt there are very many serial killers that are in LE! He is a very unusual case.
