Huma Abedin, political aide to Hillary Clinton, marrying Alex Soros, son of George Soros, the Democratic Party’s most generous patron, on Saturday drew together a crowd of the wealthy Liberal left to the Hamptons. They picked the most unsettled weekend of the year (decade) with the Israel/Iran conflagration erupting; ‘Not a King’ anti-Trump protests and the assassination of a Minnesota lawmaker. Which stamps the explosive Uranus Algol square Mars as their marriage astro-signature.
Huma Abedin, 28 July 1976, was previously married to Anthony Weiner which union disintegrated under his sexting scandals. She is Muslim with Alex Soros, 27 October 1985, who has taken over the reins from his financier father, of Jewish heritage.
She has Pakistani/Indian parents and grew up partly in Saudi Arabia where her University teacher parents worked. She has a stellium in showy, attention-attracting Leo including a Sun Saturn conjunction plus Venus Mercury and possibly Moon. Her Sun Saturn are sextile Pluto and square Uranus – determined, enduring, stubborn, keen to be taken seriously, can be autocratic.
The relationships to which she is drawn look tricky in the extreme. Her previous husband Anthony Weiner, 4 September 1964, had a controlling and chaotic Sun Pluto Uranus conjunction in Virgo conjunct her Mars in Virgo which was always guaranteed to blow a fuse at some point.
Alex Soros, 27 October 1985, is equally mystifying as a match (birth dates being accurate) – since his stubborn and controlling Sun Pluto in Scorpio is conjunct her Uranus for a clash of agendas; and his Sun Pluto is square her Sun Saturn in Leo for resolute arguments. His Saturn in Scorpio also opposes her Jupiter in Taurus so he will damp her enthusiasm at times.
Their relationship chart does have a passion-sparkling composite Sun, Venus, Mars conjunction which will help initially though it squares Neptune which may puncture a hole in the dream down the line. There is also an up-and-down composite Saturn opposition Jupiter which is being undermined by tr Saturn Neptune hard aspects over the next eighteen months.
The wedding chart (no established time) in addition to Mars square Uranus Algol and Sun square Saturn Neptune; also has two yods onto Pluto and Mars – all of which look volatile in the extreme.
Life in the fast lane.
“[His] Sun Pluto in Scorpio is conjunct her Uranus for a clash of agendas; and his Sun Pluto is square her Sun Saturn in Leo for resolute arguments.”
I’m sorry, those aspects alone will cause intractable problems. I winced when I read that. They must like a challenge!
The wealthy have no excuse not to have at least a casual astrologer on hand!
Both have 12th house Mars. Mutual secrets? They also don’t fit together looks wise. This is more like a 15 th century French political alliance rather than a love match.
Neither chart has a birth time, both natal charts above are hypothetical midday charts, so we cannot tell in which houses their Mars, or any other planet, truly resides.
I think there is something about Uranus and marrying foreigners and love for foreign land that is not limited to signs like Sagittarius or water signs or even houses 1st, 7th houses (according to Vedic).
Yes vedic uses that but it’s jupiter not uranus. I have seen uranus ones having same culture and arranged marriages or no marriage at all. But certainly bi coastal and unpredictable timings…in almost all cases, wedding cards were distributed yet somehow the wedding took place abruptly earlier or later but not on decided date.
For a long time, I had same thoughts but then I checked jupiter and that’s where the foreigner comes in…even if arranged as my parents case, it’s different culture.i have family where jupiter is in 7h of almost everyone
Thanks for the clarification. Guess I missed out the Jupiter part. My parents have both jupiter uranus moon aspect in their respective natal charts. And they are foreigner to each other.
I too have jupiter conjunct uranus (non 7th house) with wide conjunction to the moon. I have dated a number of foreigners in the past so will see how life eventually turn out
A friend of mine got married this Saturday too, tying the knot after 18 years of apparently contented co-habitation, and in unseasonably oppressive heat. I did suggest that she pick another date but they went ahead anyway. Most curious to see how these aspects play out in their future life together.
I have no idea who these 2 are!
The nodes are interesting… given their 9 year age difference, one’s SN on the other’s NN and vice versa. I was very good friends for many years with a woman who was 9 years older than me. She was a “kind of” mentor, but also not. There was always this odd tension between us… like I was going where she had been, she was going where I had been… and we’d sort of get stuck in the middle in an awkward way. We had some help with other chart points, but in the end the friendship just blew up and ended. So odd… I still feel conflicted about it.
The composite nodes are therefore perfectly square this natal polarity (which may be what that odd “stuck in the middle feeling is?). The Leo composite NN would certainly seem to help Huma’s Sun/Saturn and even Venus. The composite SN sits on Alex’s Jupiter….. I’m not sure how to describe that exactly.
I’m in the midst of trying to deepen my understanding of Jupiter! I certainly have seen it standing out in charts of deaths. I think this planet has much more going on than “beneficent”! Just downloaded Liz Greene’s book, By Jove. Maybe that will help!!
Is not the problem side of Jupiter that essentially it expands and inflates, so when it is tied into a difficult aspect it can indicate overreach, excessiveness, eg, greed, too much ambition, over confidence, hubris, self importance, etc ?
That’s how I have understood it’s negative side anyway.
🙂 jupiter surprises me too ..seems v know only myths about it…despite most popular, it’s reality is not known accurately…it’s same old myths going around.
As per my experience, when nodes of two people come together as opposite ones then there is an attraction and a kind of familiarity feeling..guess since as per hinduism the north node is decapitated head of south node body but then with time one realises, the familiarity was not enough and not worth since mythology states the south node got nectar drops so became devotee while north node stayed demon…so opposite perspectives come out eventually
Marjorie – love your work. FYI – the actual wedding ceremony apparently took place on Friday June 13 , per this Vogue article on the wedding dresses. No time for the Friday ceremony in the article: https://www.vogue.com/article/huma-abedin-wedding-dresses-erdem-givenchy.
Thanks for making me laugh out loud, Namtaro. The insect jewelry, the Morticia Adams/Eddie from the Munsters visual vibe…Of Course these two wed on Friday the 13th.
I am sorry to see the sour astrology of their wedding date, marriage being hard enough and all that. But her aspects/drive for importance helps me understand why she’d bother. Whatever private tastes she succumbs to, it just makes sense for a Sun + Saturn to want the tradition of marriage. And for all that Leo to embrace a well heeled partner.
It’s the Uranus contact I appreciate most in Marjorie’s rundown. I always found Weiner an odd choice by her (an obviously chic and smart woman). So seeing his Uranus Sun Pluto conjunction, and now Soros’ Sun Pluto conjuncting her Uranus…well #right #sigh and so it goes.
We can get married all we want, and never escape ourselves.
Weiner was well-respected when she married him, tagged as as up-and-coming young politician, someone with a bright future until he blew it with his erratic behavior and scandals.
Nodding.
Going from ‘one of the brightest’, to prison, to presently running for New York city council shows a proof of vitality.
And Abedin’s ability to jump back into the marital plot proves something, too.
I might not enjoy the vibes, but the powering on is rightly impressive.
Interesting mix but the marriage may be about more than love, I.e. power marriage, business? Who knows.
Also Interesting that these difficult weekend aspects are part of Trump’s Solar Return for 25/26 and dependent on the houses they fall in could make for a revealing read . Any chance of taking a look at that Marjorie?
Thanks as always
Or lavander? Who knows.
