Inexperienced, centrist Emmanuel Macron and right-wing Marine Le Pen are through to the second round of the French election on May 7th. By all accounts, polls and bookies, Macron is a shoe-in.
Apart from a waning Solar Arc Jupiter conjunct his Mars which has given him the impetus to rise out of obscurity to get this far, there’s not much else of note in his chart. What made me think he’d lose his mojo is tr Neptune opposition his Mars/Pluto which is running through into mid May. That can be cunning and deceitful but can also be fairly catastrophe-prone, which hasn’t been obvious so far. He’s also picking up tr Saturn square his Mars/Uranus which is accident prone. Some of this may well be outright panic at an unexpected win. Winning doesn’t always show up as resounding glee, since the reality of what lies ahead looms ominously scary. And with no party behind him, he could find himself in power but not in control of the French parliament.
The Neptune Mars/Pluto might also be a hint of the dirty tricks going on behind the scenes, targeting Fillon and airbrushing Macron. [See short URL: goo.gl/8shIyd.]
Macron’s Solar Arc Pluto is approaching a conjunction to his Midheaven; and is exactly conjunct the France MC and focal point Mars; with his Solar Arc Neptune conjunct the France Ascendant – gaining influence (with reservations) in a country undergoing an identity crisis.
His natal Taurus Moon is exactly conjunct the France Solar Arc Sun; although his Uranus also opposes the France Solar Arc Sun, so a fit, but potentially a disruptive one for this stage in France’s development.
His relationship chart with France has an affectionate Sun Venus conjunction though Neptune lurking close by could turn good feelings to disappointment; and a ratchety, volatile Mars Uranus square Saturn, so he will meet with resistance.
Marine Le Pen’s Jupiter in Virgo falls conjunct the France Solar Arc Ascendant which is why she’s been able to get this far this time round. And her Cancer MC is conjunct the France Solar Arc Moon in the 10th. Her Solar Arc Sun Mercury are conjunct the France Sun; with her Solar Arc Moon conjunct the France Pluto and opposition Uranus. The result may be closer than the 80-20 suggested at the moment.
Macron is married to a drama teacher, Brigitte, 13 April 1953 3pm Amiens, France. She’s a Sun Venus in Aries which chimes with his Sun Venus in Sagittarius; and her Aries Moon is opposition his Pluto for a close link; with his Taurus Moon conjunct her exuberant Mars Jupiter.
One thing is certain – Macron seriously dislikes the UK. His relationship chart with the UK has a fearsome-dislike Mars Moon opposition Pluto Mercury, trine Uranus, sextile Saturn. So he won’t go easy in Brexit negotiations.
From Reuters, 30 Apr, “Le Pen also faces constitutional barriers to Frexit even if she does become president, because she is expected to fall well short of a parliamentary majority in June’s legislative elections.”
Will take more than rottweiler personality to become Madame Presidente.
According to the last issue of Vanity Fair France Brigitte Macron said : ” I am not superstitious , the proof : I was born on a Friday 13 at 13 hour under a lucky star ”
So maybe hour of birth is 1 PM and not 3 PM
While it’s true Macron does not currently have a party support in National Assembly, let’s not forget that neither does Le Pen. They only have two (2) seats out of 577. They were sorely beaten in Local Elections in 2015, too, where they did well at the first round, but not so well in the second round. It’s likely that if Le Pen was to win, NF could ride that wave and win especially Republican seats.
That said, En Marche getting Socialist vote – and Socialists currently hold 280 seats – in Legislative Elections as well is not out of question. These kind of sudden swifts are not unknown in French politics. The current Socialist Party only formed in the early 1970’s, when Mitterand united centrist left of different minor parties after infighting caused by 1968.
french are going back to sleep abot radical islam(neptune -delusional ‘peaceful’christianity ). global strock markets shouldn’t bump like this
How come is that so hard to understand? Most quoted companies kind of rely on current, global market. They do not want their by limited by new taxes and National legislation limiting their access. There are notable exceptions, but when the people who got elected with a protectionist agenda go to the very people they slandered in their campaign to build the wall they promised, it’s pretty obvious we can’t go back to the 18th Century in trade, as they propose.
“it’s pretty obvious we can’t go back to the 18th Century in trade, as they propose.”
Never say never. From what I have studied of history, it goes *backwards* as well as forwards. It is a pendulum, not a one-way street.
Every revolution has a reaction, typically within fifteen years. Within 15 years of the French Revolution, France had Emperor Napolean, within fifteen years of the Russian Revolution, Russia has Stalin. The US has avoided that, though it did get a more centralised Constitution.
going back to sleep? do you suggest the french were always asleep?
and a real country – like Amerika – is facing radical islam squarely?
What about radical christianity? Oh, wait, that never happened in the past.
Radical Christianity? Please cite all the bombings, beheadings, truck driving slaughters, plane hijacking, female mutilation to equal radical isalm.
Ever hear of the Inquisition?
And how about all the child molestation cases due to “temptations of the soul” by Catholic priests?
Christianity has had a violent past, invading the Middle East during the Crusades and tearing Europe apart for centuries during the Roman Catholic/Protestant wars. Indeed remnants of that lingered into the 20th century, causing mayhem in Northern Ireland into the 1990s – and there were plenty of bombs, bullets and atrocities there.
But for all that there are aspects to Islam, and I don’t mean the fundamentalist terrorists, which seem to me to be 300 years behind the west – inequality of women, religious law, inability to separate church (mosque) and state etc. And it’s that which causes most of the culture clash when there are, as in the UK, ghetto-ised communities of Muslims, who do not wish to integrate into western values and way of life. ‘When in Rome’ doesn’t seem to mean much to them.
Female genital mutilation is a barbarity over which there should be a world wide ban and swingeing penalties. It’s worse than anything mediaeval Europe dreamed up and they were pretty nasty.
Oh Marjorie, you do damn with faint praise. “A sugar-coated empty shell” – ouch.
The predictions for the second round are more 60-40, not 80-20, with many of Melenchon’s more radical supporters swinging to Le Pen. Abstention is the invisible third candidate that may pull quite a few votes. But you had predicted no surprises for France this year, so I take it that Macron wins. Le Pen winning would upset so many things (France, EU, Brexit for a start) that would definitely register on multiple charts simultaneously.
What is your astrological view of the French First couple’s relationship? Is she in it for the prestige or is there genuine affection between the two? How will it last in the Elysee? Hollande famously cheated on his lover with another lover.
What are your thoughts on the French legislative elections on 18th June?
I saw a breakdown of this by one of the more accredited French polling firms (who did great job), and according to them, only about 3-5 per cent of Melenchon vote would go to Le Pen. Instead, a great number of Melenchon supporters would abstain.
It’s mostly the Fillon vote that’s going to build Le Pen’s numbers. Meaning rightwing gaullists in France, aside die hard Le Pen supporters, really aren’t passionate about “Frexit” that much. They know that with The UK gone, they’ll have much more power. But they like the idea of strong France, too. In essence, they are voting for flag waving and military parades these people represent.
“Not much else of note”?
What about transit Saturn in very late Sagittarius, where he has natal Sun, Mercury, Venus and Neptune? That sounds to me like an extended period of trials and tribulations, which is the lot of a head of state.
By the way, Neptune as part of that natal mix would seem to indicate idealistic to delusional capacities re: economic matters. It reminds me of a certain saying: that economists (such as Macron) exist to make astrologers look good.
As for his expected walk into office — uh, maybe not. There could be a major, even deciding, shift of thinking as the current Mercury retrograde (until 3 May) concludes in the run up to round two. (Mercury is hanging around Uranus.)
