A huge swing to Reform at the expense of the Tories and Labour candidates is not unexpected though the scale of it might be. Whether or not Farage and Reform have the endurance to maintain their lead is a question.
Farage, 3 April 1964 4.30 pm Farnborough, England, is in for a roller coaster ride ahead with tr Uranus square his Saturn in July and moving on in 2026 to conjunct his Midheaven for a sharp change of direction and square his Uranus thereafter – with tr Saturn Neptune undermining his Mars in Aries in 2026/27. So he may be pursuing his usual rackety jack-in-the-box course – here today, gone tomorrow, only to pop back up.
The Reform Party chart, 23 November 2018, is equally here and there. There’s an upbeat, confidence-boosting Solar Arc Jupiter conjunct the Mercury around now; tr Uranus opposition the Sun in August and the Jupiter for more luck in 2026. But 2026 also sees tr Uranus square the Mars for insecurity, perhaps through an over confident step too far. And by 2027 there is a definite whiff of failure in the air with Solar Arc Mars conjunct the Neptune.
Kemi Badenoch, 2 January 1980, never had a feel of anything other than a caretaker leader, when she was elected on 2 November 2024. Her leadership chart is excessively difficult with a prominent and frustratingly stuck Mars opposition Pluto which will be one reason she has been unable to gain any traction. There will be a few upsetting arguments this June and into early 2026 but nothing too obvious about an exit on that chart.
Her personal chart does show Solar Arc Uranus conjunct her Capricorn Sun soon which may be a hint of a change.
Keir Starmer’s Government chart, 5 July 2024 12.19 pm is showing continuing bitter arguments through this year but it will be next year when the tr Saturn Neptune conjunction square the Midheaven for a more obvious downhill slide.
His own birth chart similarly 2 September 1962 is flagging up 2026/7 as his years of greatest trial with growing discouragement, muddled thinking and outright failure.
I wish Nigel Farage would stop smoking as it will affect his longevity If he only forces Govts to stop the flow of illegal migrants coming here ,his life will not have been in vain His proposed tax changes are also a good idea as the threshold needs to be set higher to encourage more young people into work . Kemi -a Capricorn and not easy as I know myself as I am one ,a life long struggle.
Thanks Marjorie – you’re always so speedy and spot on! There’s so much to digest about this. As you say, not unexpected but a fairly dramatic example of how people are feeling at this point.
Something I noticed is the unstable 1066 Moon in Pisces (29) square Uranus 28 Sagittarius being activated by tr Saturn and the Pisces/Virgo Nodes (the population?). Venus and Mercury would have travelled there in April, when people were sending in their postal votes. With Farage’s natal Moon at 26 Sagittarius, and Reform’s Chiron 28 Pisces, they appear to have been in tune with 1066 in some way. The 29 Virgo Solar Eclipse in September, which opposes Saturn, could bring more shake-ups. Unless it is already sending out early energies, putting things in place ready for more? Neptune returns to the 1066 Moon in October.
Farage’s natal 1 Pisces Saturn opposing 6 Virgo Uranus also connects with the 1066 Jupiter 7 Virgo opposing Pluto 3 Pisces. Starmer’s natal Jupiter 7 Pisces, and Chiron 8 Pisces, opposing his powerful, ambitious Sun/Pluto in Virgo, plus Uranus 1 Virgo, create quite a cat’s cradle of threads between these men, and the massive upheaval represented by William the Conqueror and the Normans.
This was meant to be primarily a County Council election which meant more Conservative Council held seats were up for election yesterday than Labour. Nonetheless that fact alone does not account for why they have done do poorly. Astrologically the recent Pluto/Mars conjunction fell exactly on the Conservative Party 1912 chart natal Uranus at 3 Aquarius and square its natal Venus at 4 Taurus. The Mars-Pluto opposition suggests “a challenge in life, an all-or-nothing decision, an ultimatum which is bringing heat and volatility to the mix“. Basically the Tories need a complete overhaul or they face extinction. The Venus square indicates a risk that they will simply revert to their default position of internal feuding and more leadership sacrifice which is basically the strategy that got themselves in this position in the first place. I feel a little sorry for Badenoch whose personal chart meshes quite well with the UK chart but her party are almost beyond saving.
The bigger challenges electorally for Labour are probably going to come in next years even more significant local elections when Saturn and Neptune start to activate Mars at 5 Aries opposition Moon in Libra square the Uranus at 7 Capricorn opposition Neptune at 7 Cancer in the 1906 Labour chart. Neptune will be at 3 Aries in May 2026 so it will be in a square to the natal Saturn in the Labour 1900 chart undermining the very structure of the party. A similar challenge faced the party when Neptune was conjunct its 1900 Saturn in the mid 1980s. Neptune was also exactly conjunct the Labour 1906 natal Uranus/Neptune opposition in 1987 when the Labour Party lost its third General Election in a row to the Thatcher administration.
Another couple of big transits to the Labour 1900 chart are Uranus aspecting the mutable T square in 2027ish and Pluto conjunct the Moon circa 2028. Uranus will be in the same place it was in 1945 and Pluto will be opposite its 1945 position.
Yes that Uranus cycle and Pluto half cycle is a feature of a lot of important charts for institutions that either were set up or achieved notable recognition in the 1944-46 period. They all now face major challenges
Marjorie, Please could you have a look at the chart of Luke Campbell the new Mayor of Hull and East Yorkshire whose claim to fame is winning a boxing gold medal at the 2012 Olympics. In the hustings, his espoused priorities showed no real grasp of what the job entailed (“to cut waste in Council spending”: this is not in the Mayoral remit) but after hearing various Reform soundbites today – it would seem to be the “mantra” of Reform. He seems like a really nice guy who wants to do well by the City that supported him to Olympic glory – but I fear he’s been pushed into it by Farage as a populist candidate and I do struggle to envision him at meetings with the likes of Khan, Burnham, Brabin and Jenkyns – all seasoned Politicians.
Thanks for this Marjorie.
Any astrological thoughts to add on the Lib Dems and Greens going forward?
Pallas, the political asteroid, conj BML, opposite his Midheaven….a career in politics.
Some echoes here of the formation of the SDP by the ‘gang of four’ in the early 1980s. They eventually got 22 or 23 MPs, but ended up merging with the Liberal Party in the late 1980s; to form the Liberal Democrats.
