Canada 2026 – arguments and eruptions

Prospects for Canada ahead point to intense, heated, at times bitter discussions ongoing from mid February 2026 on and off till late 2027 as tr Pluto opposes the Mercury. With tensions erupting from August 2026 into 2027 as tr Uranus in the financial 2nd squares the Mars on the cusp of the 6th house of employment, health and government workers.

Relations with the USA, never great at the best of times, will have sinking moments and stressful times ahead which will run on into 2027 but nothing that looks terminal or overly dramatic. Relations with Trump will be discouraging through till spring, with disappointment and then explosive reactions come April/May. Once that blow-up is out of the way there will be a discontented slide into 2027.

Where the real turning point for Canada comes will be 2028 onwards. Firstly tr Neptune will square the Canada Sun Uranus in Cancer and Midheaven for confusion and indecision, low morale – shared with several other countries with similar degree Capricorn Suns. In Canada’s case this moves into an extended period from 2028 to 2033 when the Solar Arc Mars opposition Jupiter squares the Pluto opposition Saturn. That five year period will be a crossroads in their history with the winds of change fighting a battle with Canada’s stubborn resilience and reluctance to let go the past.

The Bank of Canada, 11 March 1935, with tr Uranus square the Saturn from mid June 2026 into 2027 will be on high alert, with polarized discussions about whether to leave old agreements and approaches behind to allow for progressive policies. The old guard and new guard will be at odds.  A slow down in 2027 will be what ushers in much needed change.

Mark Carney was sworn in 14 March 2025 at 11.28am when the swampy Neptune Scheat conjunction close to the downbeat Pisces Sun Saturn was in place in the 10th hinting at a precarious term ahead. The Sun Saturn trine Mars, sextile Uranus pointed to risks and obstacles to overcome. Pluto in the 8th = financial difficulties, generally blocked progress.

Tr Saturn will oppose the Administration Moon and conjunct the Saturn for an anxious few weeks with concerns from the electorate looming large till mid February which will make planning ahead tricky. Thereafter his administration will continue as before with financial woes hinted at in 2028.

Mark Carney, 16 March 1965 7.56am Fort Smith, Canada, has a stellium including his Sun in Pisces sitting across from a formidable second stellium of Mars, Pluto, Uranus, Moon in Virgo. He also has a high-finance Jupiter in Taurus conjunct Ascendant Algol and opposition Neptune. Despite his urbane appearance, he is a man of extremes who will see-saw from one viewpoint to the opposite. He will be stuck this year with his Solar Arc Midheaven opposition his Pluto and opposition his Mars in 2027 – an aggravating, frustrating career blockage looms.

His relationship with the USA has tr Pluto opposition the composite Mars throughout this year for stalemate and aggravation. With outspoken arguments from mid June 2026.  His relationship with Trump  is rattled at the moment with tr Uranus square the composite Pluto, as Trump moves his demands up a notch or two. 2026 will be a battle of wills and tussle for the upper hand; with 2027 looking if anything more agitated as tr Uranus squares the composite Mars.

The ludicrous notion of Canada becoming the USA’s 52nd or whatever state will blow over but not without a few raucous arguments and panics along the way.

    • Thanks for posting this — rather biting but accurate description of the attitudes of many Americans (especially Republicans!), not just US astrologers. Fascinating!

  1. Dear Andre
I live in Alberta and no one I know is interested in separating from the rest of Canada. This whole idea is due to a small faction of people. All you have to do is to look at the number of election recalls (removal of an MLA) in the province including one for the premier of the province. Many people are unhappy with present provincial government. I wouldn’t be surprised if the people completely ousted this present far right government or at least delivered them a minority in the next election.

Sorry for the lack of astrology.

  2. Thank you, Marjorie. I think Canada will survive but not in one piece. It could be significantly smaller. There is already American intrusion in the Alberta referendum on independence expected this fall. American money is pouring in and American agents are said to be at work. Serious Canadian military experts close to the federal government writing in the most influential newspapers say they can no longer exclude US military intervention. This feels like Austria before Anschluss. There is high anxiety everywhere. The North American Free Trade Agreement is probably toast, whcih will have grievous economic consequences. Much of this is unseen in Europe. Carney is probably askng himself each day whether he iwill be the last Canadian PM. His trip to China this week looks desperate. He is trying to appease Alberta and Saskatchewan who depend on Chinese markets, but will only alienate Ontario by agreeing to imports of Chinese electric vehicles. His task of maintaning Canadian unity is quite simply impossible. Meanwhile, the Conservative opposition leader sounds like a Canadian Quisling who would be very happy to live under a Trump dictatorship.

Astrologically, to me the most important factor is not among those you mentioned. It is the slow, gradual T-square between Pluto and Canada’s Saturn-Pluto opposition. Also, Canada’s first Neptune return in its first house. It is a country supremely adept at dleluding itself.

    • Andre! For heaven’s sake – you really don’t take a telling do you? There is no indication astrologically of a US takeover or the end of Canada as we know it.
I don’t wish to get personal but your catastropherian mindset seem more to be guiding your predictions than the astrology itself.

      • Respectfully, Marjoirie, I think you are minimizing the fundamental realities of our time and therefore doing a very grave diisservice to your readers. I bring to you facts, you bring to me a conservative mindset that will not face the gravity of our time. You amd many others will be shocked by what is to come becaue you are in deep denial.

        • I think it was Donald Winnicott, a wise child therapist, who said that which we most fear is that which has already happened.
          Worth pondering.

          • Great quote Marjorie. Winnocott was a very wise man. @Andre you appear a worrywart, but your posts are always knowledgable and interesting so thank you.

          • Thanks, Marjorie! I suspect that Andre is a Quebec separatist so he doesn’t fear the break-up of Canada, he hopes for it.

        • If we’re truly in denial, as you suggest even with all the facts you continously lay out, then maybe your message isn’t landing with us and we might not be your crowd. Have you paused to consider that?

If that’s true, perhaps it’s worth stepping back, read the room, and reflect: there could be others more ready to hear what you have share. Because right now, I know I’m not that listener, and I suspect I’m not alone in here.

Letting go or saying goodbye to something doesn’t necessarily mean failure, but means saving your energy.
          That’s my advice to you.

Wishing you all the best on your path, Andre, and I hope that one day you find your gang.

        • I’m sorry, but how are you laying out “facts” and schooling Marjorie when you literally wrote you “feel” like this is x and Carney is “probably” doing y?

Do you realize those are not facts? Those are feelings and assumptions.

      • It’s called fear porn. Some people are truly addicted to it and don’t know themselves without it. I saw a lot of it in the new age sphere a decade ago when conspiracy theories, Q-Anon, and the catastrophic end days mindset and Trump fawning began to flood in and drown out or attack rational thinking. That realm ended up being labelled ‘Conspirituality,’ and fear porn was a major drive in its engine. I walked away because it was so emotionally draining and profoundly frustrating being around people who literally thrived on severe worse case scenarios like they wanted it to happen. Most of what they said rarely came true but those that did (at the time) is what kept their vigil constantly alight. And it still continues to this day. It’s like a flesh eating mind virus once it gets inside peoples heads and very difficult for the host to be rid of it.
