Bezos wedding – Venice bares its teeth

The Jeff Bezos extravaganza in Venice as he marries the eye-popping Lauren Sanchez is causing equal measures of outrage from Venicians and merriment amongst cartoonists.

The Guardian’s First Dog: “The world’s richest Jeff had his wedding plans interfered with by Italian busybodies! Oh no!” “Why do people hate vulgar displays of extreme wealth by people whose business interests are burning the planet to the ground and destroying the rights of workers?”

Latest reports have described a local activist-revolt of filling the canal with inflatable crocodiles to deter the Kardashian tribe and other invitees; and indicate Friday to be the day of the oaths.

There will still be an expansive Sun Jupiter conjunction in Cancer in place and in square to the Neptune Saturn in Aries conjunction. Ebertin describes Saturn Neptune as renunciation and ascetism or a struggle between higher and lower nature. That will be amplified by the Saturn square Jupiter and Jupiter square Neptune often accompanies high-finance activities or individuals. Uncertainty and neuroses can be outcomes of Saturn Neptune as well. What will make for an even more fraught mood are the two yods still in place with apex planets Mars and Pluto respectively. Not all peace and love.

Jeff Bezos, 12 January 1964, a Sun Mars in Capricorn with Venus Saturn in Aquarius square Neptune is certainly a go-getter. His Moon is late Sagittarius/Capricorn. His bride-to-be Lauren Sanchez, 19 December 1969, New Mexico, is an upfront  Sun Sagittarius in a controlling square to Pluto. With a tough-minded yod of Mars in Pisces sextile Saturn in Taurus inconjunct a defiant Uranus – and a Taurus Moon.

From a previous post 26th May 2023: Jeff Bezos – life at the top not all a bed of roses

‘Their relationship chart has a frivolous, enjoy-the-high-life composite Venus Jupiter conjunction trine Pluto Uranus and on the midpoint of a mini-Grand Trine of Neptune trine Saturn – so a mix of light and shade, and a relationship that will go through distinct phases. There will be an emphasis on conspicuous wealth and glittery trimmings with such an emphasized Venus Jupiter.’

The wedding chart hints of considerable pressures on their togetherness over the next three years with the tr Neptune Saturn closing the square to the Sun Jupiter and by 2026 an insecure tr Uranus square the Mars.

That is reflected in challenges to each of their individual charts. Bezos has his Solar Arc Pluto conjunct his Neptune in 2026 and SA Neptune conjunct his Sun in 2027 – both of which will be worrisome and confused.

Lauren has a top-of-the-world Solar Arc Jupiter conjunct her Sun now and square Pluto as her self-assurance skyrockets as Mrs Third-richest-man-in-the-world Bezos.  But she also has a hard-slog tr Pluto square her Saturn till late this year alongside a nerve-stretched tr Uranus opposition her Neptune – and then an edgy, insecure tr Uranus square her Mars in 2026/27.

  1. @Zita
Jeff & Lauren both Cheated on their partners. I do not feel sorry for them! I feel sorry for their previous partners & children! When a man marries the misteress, a vacancy is created? does anyone how long this will last?

  2. Oddly, I find I feel sorry for her. She’s obviously a goer but she’s transformed herself into a cartoon with her skinny little corseted body, huge mouth and ever present bosom. Presumably he likes it but maintenance at 20 would be onerous but at 55 yrs! I too, like @Jane, keep thinking of Marie Antoinette. So fin de siècle! Without the charm.

  3. A new twist, as the Daily Mail UK, is reporting that the couple was legally married ‘at least a month ago, and in the USA.’ A red-herring post; or, was someone consulted, so the couple could avoid marrying under the chaotic stars of June?

    • Yes, I keep seeing reports that they had already done the official marriage in Florida. Probably a month ago. This thing is symbolic as well as being in poor taste. I give it 4 years.

  4. Maybe it’s just me; but, everyone there looks either preening, bored, or both. I think the shine is off the apple, even for the uber-rich, when it comes to ‘destination weddings.’

Though, I’m really looking forward to your astrological analysis of the [happy?] couple’s vows; because, other astrologers keep referring to this time-frame, and through July, as a period when events will powerfully changes one’s life, and even the direction of the world, and maybe not in ways that we expect.

I’m not sure what that means, in practical terms; and so I’m hoping you’ll please explain what all the astrological hoopla is about?

Thank you for your insights, as they always hit home, and give me a better sense of what’s going on in the world :>)

    • It’s the tailend of Pluto in Capricorn – the sign of obligation – having to do things you don’t what to do. Lots of empty conversations, nothing intimate or personal exchanged between any of them. Not that Pluto in Aquarius is likely to be any deeper but it should bring people with common interests together, not just to show off and impress others (another Capricorn trait).

      • I’d say that the tech Broligarchy is highly Pluto in Aquarius and the 11th house rules financial speculation. Pluto also rules riches – plutocrat, plutocracy. By the time we’re mid way through Pluto in Aquarius, disillusionment and disgust at the excesses and extravagances of the super rich may well be at a high, particularly considering the many challenges that face populations in the future, including AI advancement, job losses and climate upheaval, etc. Wealth disparity is in essence what divides us.

Did you see the life-size mannequin of Bezos floating down a Venetian canal clinging to an Amazon box while seizing fistfuls of bank notes, GD?

        • I saw it. Good on the protestors for making it all an unpleasant experience albeit I’m sure the wedding will be insulated enough. But at least it is drawing negative attention via the press.

Saturn enters Leo in 2035, Uranus in 2040 along with Neptune in Taurus. The latter will never oppose Pluto directly but maybe that is when things start to get sorted. Viva la Revolution!

  5. It’s proving to be the tackiest event of the decade, especially now that the Kardashians have turned up. The super rich continuing to rub it in our faces. Strangely it all looks very dated, very plastic, very vulgar and really rather unsightly.

    • Hopefully wealth inequality has peaked with Pluto in Capricorn. Certainly you would expect that to be the case now that Pluto has moved into Aqua. Plus the Jupiter-Saturn conjunctions have permanently moved into air; having peaked and finished with the 1999 conjunction in materialistic Taurus.

Noting that this wedding occurs with Uranus at the anaretic degree of Taurus. And while there is a bit more time to be spent back there in the winter; along with Saturn/Neptune back in Pisces – the outer changeover is almost over. And it really does seem like the times are changing.

      • Interesting to consider the upheavals of the 18th century transit of Pluto in Aquarius. This wedding in Venice has really made me think about the French Revolution (Pluto opposing Uranus). Also, these multi day weddings are now a ‘thing’ amongst the less wealthy (not hard to be less wealthy than Bezos etc!). And very tiresome they are too. The Renaissance ones, further back, were quite insane in Italy. While not advocating a Jane Eyre and Mr Rochester style wedding trend, I’d love to see things done more simply, with more fun, and far less odious showing off. Oddly, funerals – surely a Pluto domain – are becoming more individualistic and imaginative, and more about the deceased person, and often offer attempts to be more green too.

        • The infamous ‘Bal des Ardents’, January 28th 1393, Paris (where a wedding party was set on fire by ‘wild men’ in highly flammable costumes, one of whom was the King himself) occurred under a Uranus/Pluto opposition too funnily enough, with Pluto 26 Taurus and Uranus 22 Scorpio. Neptune was at 18 Taurus. Plus there was a Sun/Jupiter conjunction that day opposite the Moon in Leo! In fact a Fixed Grand Cross.

At the time, it was seen as the outcome of wild extravagance and excessive partying, much frowned upon by the clergy and the common people. The young king, Charles VI who probably suffered from schizophrenia was quite popular with the people however, and it was his uncles, specifically the Duke d’Orleans who was blamed for his drunken and reckless behaviour in setting the wild men alight. There had been riots in 1382 – the Harelle, for eg – as well as the previous year’s Peasants Revolt in England. Ultimately, the entire entourage were made to do penance, processing, heads bowed to Notre Dame. The young king, Charles continued to deteriorate mentally as the Valois dynasty declined.

  6. Mars in the 12th showing up again and again. Secrets, hidden motivations for getting married. The thrill may be over as soon as they sign on the dotted line.

  7. In my experience with Venus conjunct Saturn, Venus square Saturn or Venus opposition Saturn, such relationships or marriages don’t work or last long. I have seen women mostly with that aspect of Venus square Saturn, others can spend the rest of their lives single and not getting married. Oprah Winfrey, Venus Williams, Lucy Liu are examples and many more. Others like Lisa Marie Presley, Frank Sinatra, Clint Eastwood, Bill Gates and many more, with Venus conjunct Saturn, end up divorcing or they can marry many times. Looking at Jeff Bezos birth chart, his marriage to Lauren is not going to last. They will soon divorce, in less than five years.

  8. Just for fun I looked at the chart for Venice (Penfield/astrotheme). 25th March, 425, 12.01am, JC. The 5 Aries Sun is square Pluto in Cancer, 6. So that dynamic, powerful square is right on the Sun for the more Versailles than Venice Wedding Day chart.
There’s also a watery, secretive Venetian Moon, 17 Scorpio, in a t-square with Venus, 20 Aquarius, and Uranus 17 Leo conjunct a glamorous Neptune 20 Leo. Amused to see the Wedding Day partnership asteroid, Juno, at 16 Scorpio, with Venus 21 Taurus slotting right in! Bezos own Neptune is 17 Scorpio, joining Venice and the Wedding in some intense dreams.
Venice also has a fiery Mercury conjunct Mars, 15 Aries, quite upfront, impulsive, and prone to combative moments. Probably close enough to the natal Bezos Jupiter square Nodes, but amidst the endless revelry he may not notice a less than welcoming atmosphere.

    • Apt. 16° Scorpio “a girl’s face breaking into a smile”. Rising from the depths with a serene Alligator smile. Venice la serenissima & la sposa del mare. The gaping maw. What rises from the lagoon? Venice. Bezos.

The Taurus Venus Bezos’ “alive girl”. Persephone the goddess of spring. Playing the ingenue, muscle shirts and bikinis, foam party of 60 year olds. Now Scorpio Juno. The raped bride of Pluto. Queen of the Damned. The Bezos Wedding Masquerade is the Pageant of the Rape of Persephone.

  9. Taurus moon…another one in party of richest wives of world..
Venus Jupiter is not always glittery but maybe the house and sign and degree matter since Jupiter is knowledge so knows real riches lie in welfare and Venus is affectionate but since capricorn and sag so both r money minded -a trait sag hide superbly though both r enemy planets ruled signs.
Incidentally, Taurus and capricorn-both r stubborn so more Pluto in Aquarius era or rebels, more such will go extra mile to feel victorious..it’s too a battle just that it’s on social level- rich vs bourgeois/corrupt vs rightful owners of wealth

  10. MacKenzie (1st wife) – Aries Sun (fire) with Taurus moon-saturn
#2 – Sag sun (fire) with Taurus moon-saturn

Born 3-4mths apart so lots of planets in common

    He knows his type!

    • 🙂 I guess, next time anyone wants a rich husband, she should check her Taurus placement.
His type doesn’t stay ..all the money in the world can’t buy love

    • Compatibility on the basis of the moons alone – Moon-Saturn good for Bezos’ Capricorn Sun.
Women in Fire signs, Sanchez’s Sun conjunct, for his Sag Moon.

The sheer amount of hypocrisy among the uber-rich & famous never ceases to amaze me. Bezos, the extreme capitalist, is reported to have donated to conservation groups to ‘play nice’. Di Caprio, known for his environmental causes, didn’t mind attending. Did it occur to any of them that Venice is among the famous & obvious victims of rising seas (to the point of taking extreme measures to save the city), or of the ecological impact of the private yachts and planes which took them there.
(The same NYT article raises the issue of whether they had already been legally married earlier)
