  1. What is the time for the American 4th July Independence Day Chart please that most Astrologers use? As I recently read a book where I think another time was given. Would like to check!

    • There are many times for the July 4, 1776 chart. The 3 most common are below, and even they have variants of minutes to either side of the one given. All charts are for Philadelphia, PA, local mean time (LMT).

      1. Sibly – Sagittarius rising – 17:13 PM (named after a man called Sibly – look up Wikipedia – who made the chart years after the event, but it’s the earliest known chart done by a person close to the July 4 date) – commonly used today.
      2. Gemini rising – 2:17 AM (preferred by earlier astrologers who note the ‘dual’ nature of American politics and culture, hence Gemini) – not much used now, but has validity.
      3. Scorpio rising – 14:21 PM (preferred by many astrologers for its emphasis on money and commerce being central, with Scorpio/Taurus on the Asc/Desc and Mars in the 8th) – commonly used today.

The charts are based on various documents and letters of the time, along with historical tidbits and speculations, but there is no definitive historical record of the exact time the founders came to agreement. In fact, the agreement wasn’t signed on that day. Supposedly, the 4th was the day the founders ‘agreed’ on what the declaration was to say. The publication and actual signing of the document per se rolled out over a month, with the last few signatures delayed to months after July 4th. No surprise, considering the difficulty of transportation and communication in those days. If you google, it there are many articles on astrology websites that discuss the time and date.

There is also the Yorktown signing, when the war with Britain was formally concluded, aoproximately 11:00 AM, October 19, 1781, Yorktown, Virginia.

      Take your pick!

  2. Hi Marjorie, I don’t know if this is too far out on the periphery of what you might want to cover, but if not, would you please look at the new defence pact recently signed by Saudi Arabia and Pakistan? Apparently Israel’s recent bombing in Doha has rattled the Islamic world and now nobody trusts America either in defending the region or in curtailing Israeli aggression – hence the new partnership. That said, it also has major implications for India given their long-term issues with Pak re: Kashmir. Anyway, if you’re willing to review, here’s a couple articles. Tks 🙂

    • I would have said they are edgy partners – at the best of times. High aspirations but not always bringing a solid outcome. Their association will be tested mightily over the next three or four years with tr Pluto square the composite Saturn, then square Mercury and Sun – plus all the Saturn midpoints – which could be cooperation under challenging circumstances but will also put enormous strain on their togetherness as well.

  3. To Unnmystic Mom Please carry on with your thoughts, They are much appreciated I always enjoy reading your comments. I’m also a big Golden Girls fan .

  4. Marjorie, how about Philippe de Villiers and the effect of the Saturn Neptune conjunction next year Feb 2026 on his Mars/Sun, third house, in the first ° of Aries and more on his chart, he has so many frenemies outside of Vendée county, and what struck me is the balance of the four elements in his birth chart: earth 26,3% water 20,8% fire 30,9% air 22% and the salient 3rd house in Aries == with Mars in Aries from April, 9th 2026 firing up the world landscape generally and the French Republic threshold locally, what can you read with more revealing details please?

  5. How about Andy Burnham as the next Labour Leader, Marjorie?
I feel he’s being cryptic about his future, maybe resisting pressure from others to run?
He’s a Capri born 7th of January 1970. Sadly, I couldn’t find his time of birth anywhere online!

  6. It’s about 100 days to the New Year now and this may be a topic more for Marjorie’s annual look to the year ahead (2026).

Now that the US is stepping back from its global role, is there a risk of a China-Taiwan military event in the next two years?

With all the events between Russia and NATO airspace in the last week, I wonder if Russia (and China by extension) are probing into whether the US wants to get involved in defence outside the Americas in the remainder of the Trump presidency.

If they are going down that path, I suspect that any military action between Russia and its periphery, and between China and Taiwan, would be timed for before 2029 (when the next president of whatever hue will take over).

Marjorie has mentioned across multiple predictions of financial crises in 2026-2027. Could they be caused by or accompanied by military crises?

  7. Passing astrological thought.

Both practice of religion and birth-rates have fallen, in recent times quite dramatically, since the 1980s-90s. That obviously also coincided with the start of the Internet age. I am fairly confident that that was the start of the Age of Aquarius, when the vernal equinox (considered the start of the natural year in many cultures) has or will have moved into the sidereal sign of Aquarius.

The Age of Pisces (~1AD to 1990s) was associated with the rise of Christianity and religion in general. What will the long-term (two millenia) age of Aquarius bring us in general?

One way that some people are looking at getting us out of demographic decline is bionic wombs, so that women no longer have to bear foetuses within them if they don’t want to. It is essentially the next step to surrogacy.

That was of course already done with fathers in the 1970s, with the introduction of IVF and test-tube babies (the quote from Blanche in the Golden Girls about how you’d feel about having a test-tube for a son-in-law comes to mind). And we have seen a huge rise in fatherless families and that has impacted societies in many different and unexpected ways. What will the impact of motherless children be on societies, if bionic wombs become a reality?

Marjorie had mentioned in an article a while back about Mars being the planet most associated with reproduction. Why is Mars (a masculine planet, if not the most masculine planet) associated with reproduction, when they do not bear the burden of that reproduction? Indeed, men tend to fret more about the birth-rate and changes in demography way more than women, in spite of them not having to carry a child for nine months and then the years that follow.

Sometimes I wonder if I should just let my passing thoughts pass away.
