Kinahan Cartel – global players

The Irish Kinahan Cartel bizarrely allied with Iran and Hezbollah have been badly hit with two top level arrests and the seizure of a Kinahan-linked Iranian super-tanker by US special forces. American authorities are now seeking to confiscate the vessel and its €200m cargo of Iranian oil.

The Kinahan cartel originally developed ties to Iran in the 2000s to use them to launder drug money from the cocaine trade. But a former UK National Crime Agency director said recently “They are a super cartel, involved in state-like activities. Nothing like them has been seen before. They have extraordinary capabilities. They are a group that’s involved in influencing and impacting the global landscape between the superpowers and the Iranian war.” In exchange for their services, the Iranian government are believed to have sought the Kinahans help with targets for attacks in Europe.

Daniel Kinahan the present boss, has been arrested in Dubai where he has lived freely for a decade and is likely to be sent back to Ireland to stand trial on charges of directing the activities of a criminal organization and maybe a murder or two.  There was a bloody feud with another Dublin-based crime organization, during which eighteen people were murdered in Ireland and Spain. His trusted confidant Sean McGovern has already been sentenced – for a brief 2 years – for directing criminal activities and for one murder.

“That came as a shock both in Scotland and Ireland as the Kinahans were largely seen as totally untouchable and billionaires”

Despite Daniel Kinahan’s known history little was done until the Emirates started to get edgy about their reputation.  A former F.B.I. agent said “Dubai has never cared too much about people’s reputation, as long as you’re not committing crimes in their country.”

Christopher Vincent Kinahan, 23 March 1957, started the family’s criminal activities with cheque fraud, then became involved in the heroin trade. Did prison time where he completed degree, learned to speak Spanish and Dutch and on release is suspected of setting up drug routes into Western Europe for Mexican and Colombian cartels, and the Russian mafia. He now lives in Dubai.

He has an Aries Sun on the focal point of a yod inconjunct an ambitious Pluto sextile Neptune, making him will-driven and a go-getter. His Sun is sextile Mars, trine Uranus and opposition Jupiter, giving him luck and talent, albeit misdirected.  He is having an edgy year (and last year wasn’t that great either) with an undermining tr Neptune conjunct his Sun (and Mercury in 2027); and tr Uranus in an insecure, jolting conjunction to his Mars after the middle of this month until early July and again on and off into spring 2027. Plus a considerable upheaval from tr Pluto opposition his Uranus. The walls may be closing in on him as well.

Daniel Kinahan, 25 June 1977, his son who appears to run the cartel from Dubai as well as being a legit boxing promoter, is a Cancer Sun, also with a Neptune Pluto sextile yod onto a heavyweight Mars in Taurus, certainly suiting him for boxing promotion but also giving him a ruthless and aggressive approach. An uncompromising can-be-explosive Uranus opposes his focal point Mars making it the sensitive reaction point for the yod. His Uranus opposition Mars also squares onto Saturn in wannabe important Leo which will give him executive abilities but also a mean streak. Like his father he is in an undermining year with tr Neptune square his Sun followed by upheavals in 2027/28 from tr Pluto square his Uranus.

Sean McGovern, 12 February 1986, Belfast, is an exuberant Sun, Jupiter, Venus in Aquarius with a hard-edged, can-be-cruel Mars Saturn conjunction in Sagittarius. His Sun is significantly square his Mars/Pluto midpoint and his Saturn/Pluto.

Their charts all have afflicted or overly prominent Mars which makes sense of a high-risk, aggressive lifestyle. And an emphasised Uranus for their lawless streak.

It is an eye-opener to the holier-than-thou Iranian theocracy and indeed to the ‘high-level’ business skills of the drug dealers to have turned themselves into global players. What a world.

Syria was also kept afloat for the Assads with a different kind of multi-billion-dollar illicit drug enterprise financial lifeline to circumvent international sanctions, with top officials and military divisions deeply embedded in manufacturing and exporting the drugs throughout the Middle East.
