Uranus moving to rattle up the UK yod of Jupiter sextile Uranus inconjunct Pluto from mid May this year as it is sextile the Jupiter trine the Uranus and then square the Pluto, on past experience has coincided with transformative experiences. It makes sense astrologically though it is not obvious yet what magician will appear to pull a rabbit out of a hat.
In 1858/59 Uranus moving into Gemini saw the “Great Stink” of London (untreated sewage in the River Thames) which spurred the creation of modern sewage systems. The British Raj in India was established after the East India Company’s rule was transferred to the Crown. The first reading of Darwin’s evolution theory too place. There was increased trade access to China. The 1859 election led to a coalition government under Prime Minister Lord Palmerston, marking the rise of the Liberal Party. The Royal Opera House in London opened and the Big Ben clock tower in London started ticking. Overall it was a pivotal time for political change and industrial progress.
Next time round in 1941/42 during World War 11 in the aftermath of the devastating blitz on London, Belfast, and Clydebank in 1941, American troops arrived in 1942 for a major military shift. There were increasing British successes in the war culminating in the victory at El Alamein in North Africa, in what was a year of critical change for the better.
Looking back it followed on from bleak events under Uranus in Taurus which spurred on a change for the better. Here’s hoping. Maybe King Charles’ resounding success in the US is an omen for future good news.
And tr Uranus is also poised to move out of the UK 8th house of joint finances etc from July this year onwards which should help to stabilise the economy moving forward. Again not sure how but there it is.

Its interesting to see that Uranus was in Gemini when The Great Stink finally pushed for people to do something positive about the filthy, toxic water in the Thames. Coming up, I notice tr Uranus will soon square the watery UK Pluto in Pisces (both 1066 and 1801). Pluto also rules sewage I think. Uranus will also be squaring the passageways and pathways tr Nodes in Pisces/Virgo, as they move to conjunct UK Pluto. Our polluted rivers and coastal waters remain an ongoing problem, for many reasons it seems. Water supplies for data centres and new housing developments may also be an important issue. Worth watching these issues, or media attention on them, in the coming weeks?
I wonder, not just for the UK, but the world, about Andre Barbault’s prediction of a turning point and better times in 2026 with Saturn Neptune in Aries.
Could it be that times have sunk so low, that he saw a new beginning, as well with Pluto and Uranus changing signs. As if the pendulum starts to swing, I hope.
I think this constantly. For me, I can’t see the impending global military industrial surveillance state as being indicative of a better future when the mass majority of people are against it. So, I’m thinking it won’t actually materialise on a massive scale, which gives me a tiny bit of hope.
Unless we end up ditching a lot of this sinister tech and we become way more localised and community minded and freeze the control overreach, which would be very Uranus in Gemini too, wouldn’t it? Great innovations would spring from that to make this a viable option and we’d be more of a circular, helpful community. So that could work for the betterment too, I think. Who knows? I can’t wait for things to stabilise a bit more so we can build this future
And re my comments (below), perhaps worth noting that Keir Starmer’s leadership chart, 4 April 2020, has Moon 22 Leo, one degree off the UK Saturn. Perhaps that suggests his love of ‘process’ and ‘international law’? Ceres is 23 Aquarius. The upcoming tr Nodes, Mars, and Jupiter in Leo/Aquarius do seem to suggest that UK 11th house matters are closely linked to Keir Starmer’s position as leader. Mars in Virgo conjuncts Starmer’s natal Sun/Pluto conjunction in December, January and June 2027. Some of that energy may signify a younger opponent or challenger. There seems to be enough of them!
Somebody on Twitter pointed out that it is the birthday of the Union between England and Scotland, on 1st May 1707, and which is when the name the United Kingdom was first adopted.
The Pluto Return of that event occurred near the Suez Crisis of 1956 and is said to herald the end of the British Empire.
Perhaps somebody can cast the Solar Return of that chat to look into (a) how the Union with Scotland looks like in the year after the Scottish Parliament elections on 7th May and (b) how the UK looks like over the next year.
Very interesting
Thanks Marjorie, moving towards a more positive phase is more than welcome news!
Having read Hugh’s post, I suspect it may not be particularly good news for this government. As Saturn in Aries crosses the UK descendant, emphasising partnerships and alliances, the South Node in Leo passes over the UK’s natal Saturn in Leo in the 11th house of groups, and also I think the legislature. Past choices, alliances, and actions may be emphasised then.
I notice that Mars will be in Leo, in that UK house, conjunct UK Saturn this November, then again in March and April 2027 during its retrograde in Leo (and Virgo) from January 2027. Tr Jupiter will also cross UK Saturn more than once during its transit in Leo. Some of this quite striking Leo activity may relate to news and events connected to the Royal Family. Some of it may suggest a new Prime Minister (again!), or even an early election?
I’m still unable to post a reply to an individual. No idea why!
I’m also glad to hear good news. Is the good luck for all the countries currently in the UK?
Saturn crosses the governments North Node at 10 Aries three days after the date of the 7 May 2026 local elections. It then conjuncts the UK 1801 North Node at 14 Aries on 27 June 2026 before turning retrograde at that degree on 27 July 2026. Saturn tracks back to 7 Aries before turning direct at that degree on 11 December 2026. It returns to 14 Aries on 9th March 2027. These conjunctions to the North Node are happening in the 7th House of both the UK and Labour government charts. This period indicates a serious “reality check” for the government and the UK which may be presented with a stark view of the consequences of past actions. The limitations and boundaries imposed by Saturn will also be signalling that long term planning is required to enable the nation to progress on a path of growth. As it is happening in the 7th House of the natal charts one assumes allies and opponents in international affairs are highlighted together with dealing with the dependencies such relations bring. The UK is being challenged to examine and develop its relationship with partners. It may indicate the end of old alliances and the slow process of building new ones. This maybe a long, slow challenging process which requires a lot of effort and overcoming difficulties before the rewards are achieved. Saturn can be a tough taskmaster but it was also the Roman god of agriculture and the harvest which rewards effort and due diligence.
Feels so good to read some optimism for our country. Thx for the lovely piece as usual Marjorie.
