At the risk of overdosing on Trump and raising tensions further – there is an astrological hotspot approaching which connects the February 17th Solar Eclipse at 28 degrees Aquarius square Uranus to many of the White House acolytes
The eclipsed New Moon relocated to Washington DC sits exactly on the Ascendant, hinting that even more than usual (!!) the US seat of government will be the focus of global attention.
Donald Trump has his Mars in Leo opposed by the Solar Eclipse which sits on his Descendant suggesting his already unstable temper will get the better of him as his “full speed ahead” Mars goes into overdrive, picking fights wherever he goes. It can lead in addition to heated arguments to physical exhaustion; contusions; accidents and illness. Sitting on his Descendant, hints at a need to rethink his approach to relationships.
The Saros series of this eclipse is not in itself a high-risk one according to Bernadette Brady, though communication muddles and restrictions can lead to feelings of tiredness; with a hint that working through difficulties one by one will be sensible. Not the Trump way.
The Solar Eclipse is also conjunct the USA Sibly country chart Aquarius Moon (and conjunct the Solar Arc Mars). This will brings up the past for America and is a time of testing the foundations on which present stability is built. Public image comes under scrutiny so criticism will be likely where there are failing. The country may be at tipping point with a good deal of anger spilling out. The USA Congress also has the Solar Eclipse conjunct its Mars so there may be more pushback from that quarter.
Like Trump, J.D. Vance also has the Eclipse conjunct his Descendant for a hard look at his close relationships with a challenge to alter his approach.
Many of the close circle will also be rattled up in coming months – eclipses run up in effect before the due date and cover the coming six months.
Susie Wiles has the eclipse opposition her Pluto, as does Steve Witkoff, Stephen Bannon, and John Roberts of the Supreme Court. Usually this brings major challenges and a need for change which will probably initially be resisted. The hint is transform or wither in decay. With a further possible dimension which is involvement in controlling relationships difficult to disengage from with a heavy cost involved.
Jared and Ivanka Kushner both have their Uranus being squared by the eclipse, as does Tulsi Gabbard, Kash Patel. This suggests changes and unforeseen circumstances over which they have no control. A sudden letting go of everything that is old and useless. Nervy.
Scott Bessent, Karoline Leavitt have the eclipse opposing their Sun which usually brings a crisis with a necessity to face the fact they have been wrong. Prompts a complete rethink of attitudes which if ignored will bring consequences.
Eric Trump has the eclipse conjunct his Moon which will make him feel he is standing on very shaky ground. Melania has her Venus in late Taurus being squared by the eclipse for an emotional upset
Other eclipse targets include NATO with the eclipse opposition the Sun. ICE with the eclipse conjunct their Uranus.
Israel will also be in the firing line of the eclipse with their Mars in Leo and Netanyahu’s Mars in Leo both being opposed by the eclipse. So there may be a flare up there. Iran’s Pluto (opp Mars) will also be squared by the eclipse.
It is usually a mistake to joint too many dots together and assume all of the above eclipse aspects are being triggered by the same event.
J.D. Vance’s wife has just announced her pregnancy with their fourth child so his eclipse on the Descendant could be part of that. Melania may be unnerved by her documentary not turning out to be the hit of the decade.
But it certainly does seem to be affecting Trump and his nearest so worth reviewing as it rolls through.
Even Andrew Neil in the Daily Mail thinks “we are past peak Trump.”
‘President Trump peered over the brink at the mayhem in Minneapolis this week – and quickly pulled back. His personal approval ratings, already shaky, took a further dive. Even loyal Republicans were recoiling at the excesses of a poorly trained paramilitary force, unaccountable and out of control.’
But Neil also points out that the US economy is doing well with growth of over 5 per cent by the last quarter. Productivity growth is booming way above European levels too.
Likewise, crime is dropping dramatically, down by double digits. It is expected that the latest homicide rate will be four in 100,000, making it the lowest since records began in 1900. But, again, Trump gets little credit, partly because he’s too busy depicting Democrat-run big cities as cesspits of crime and lawlessness for most folk to be even aware of the wider picture.’

Ukraine is not looking overly cheerful in relation to the February eclipse. The 1918 country chart has an emotionally upsetting conjunction to its Venus. The 1991 chart has the eclipse opposition Mercury in Leo and the zero degree Virgo Sun which points to a crisis. The eclipse relocated to Kiev has a frustrating stuck Mars in the 8th and a hopeful though worrisome Saturn Neptune conjunct the Midheaven.
Zelensky’s personal chart has the eclipse opposition his Saturn in Leo which could dent his confidence and reputation and he may be landed with extra responsibilities and blame for the actions of underlings.
Others with Saturn in late Leo getting a similar message are Tim Waltz and Amal Alamuddin (George Clooney’s wife). And Belgium.
Three with the eclipse in hard aspect to their Jupiter are Bill Gates (Jupiter Pluto conjunction in Leo), Peter Thiel and Tony Blair. The temptation to over extend will loom large and they could be their own greatest enemy though will blame others when things go wrong. Luck will come and then disappear. Learning trust will be vital (as will avoiding the untrustworthy).
Bill Clinton has the eclipse opposition his late Leo Sun as he faces the fact that he is not always right and is prompted to undergo a personal re-evaluation. NATO with a 1 degree Virgo Sun is facing the same.
Alan Dershowtiz with his Mars in late Leo will be on argumentative form as his anger is sparked.
The Russia 1917 chart also has the eclipse opposition the Moon and Mars which will be emotionally unsettling internally as well as angry and combative.
Keir Starmer and Ghislaine Maxwell both have the eclipse opposition their Uranus – which can bring an opportunity for greater personal freedom, though if ducked will bring the opposite in terms of limitations.
The Sabian Symbol for this 29 Aquarius eclipse is intriguing: A Butterfly emerging from a Chrysalis.
Makes me think of a metamorphosis of some kind; that ‘liberates’ new potential, new insight, or new associations.

Interestingly this eclipse is exactly opposing the August 2017 eclipse at the beginning of his 1st term. That one was at 28 degrees Leo exactly conjoining Trump’s Mars and Ascendant, signaling his rise to political power. With transiting Uranus in late Taurus also squaring this eclipse (and also Trump’s Leo placements), you have to wonder if this augurs for a big shock or change in circumstances for him. Perhaps he has to leave office due to health or other factors. The cycle that began in 2017 closes here.
I think he will attack Greenland around the time of this eclipse. He needs to take action for Thiel, sooner rather than later, IMO.
@Amelia Pettyfor, as said before, the US simply doesn’t have military capacities to carry this sort of operation right now. In fact, the UK is better equipped for arctic warfare than the US.
Astrologically, Thiel and Trump don’t seem to have the best relationship in 2026 (see Marjorie’s post on Peter Thiel). There’s talk about Thiel being in Epstein files, and I wouldn’t honestly be surprised, in which case JD Vance might want to distance himself from Thiel, too.

This February Aquarian Solar Eclipse square Uranus in Taurus has a curious echo, with links to Trump’s “mentor” Roy Cohn, whose chart you’ve discussed a few days ago. What might resonate now with that pivotal time in Trump’s life?

Back on 16th February, 1980, there was a Solar Eclipse at 26 Aquarius, square Uranus 25 Scorpio. Cohn’s birthday was 20th February. Donald and Ivana Trump attended Cohn’s birthday party, having met him the previous year. There had also been an eclipse at 29 Leo in August 1979, which would have impacted on Trump’s Leo Mars and Ascendant, as well as Cohn’s natal Mars square Neptune in Leo.
These eclipses mark the beginnings of the enormous Trump Tower project in Manhattan. Trump had acquired the old Bonwit Teller site in 1979, with plans to demolish it. Construction of Trump Tower began in 1980. The whole project attracted controversy from the start (surprise!), with the destruction of unique Art Deco friezes – previously promised to the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art – and subsequently the discovery of numerous undocumented migrant workers who were either unpaid, or underpaid for their work. In answering questions about his destruction of valuable art history, Trump used a pseudonym, John Barron, which I believe he used on other occasions. He seemed to enjoy pretending to be someone else, perhaps it made it easier (or more fun?) to lie to the public.
So some of the long rollercoaster story of DJT has its roots in 1979-80, an important era for him, and now another Aquarian Solar Eclipse square Uranus approaches and will sensitise the same chart areas.

Seems to me he’s proving his “deal maker” branding has always been hot air. His supporters who have been banging on about Epstein for a decade now don’t care if he’s in the files at all.

There was a curious coincidence yesterday at CNN news feed on Bluesky: The first headline after DOJ announcement of more Epstein Files was about Israel Defence Forces telling journalists that the 70 k death toll in Gaza reported by Palestinian authorities was accurate. IDF never communicates casually, the least with journalist. For them to even half admit this is a move.
Now, in the released Epstein Files, there’s a witness statement telling Trump is compromised with Mossad, Kushner (maybe Charles rather than Jared) is his handler and that there’s significant level of money laundering through Alan Dershowitz. While I am not buying every conspiracy, the fact that Ghislaine, a daughter of at least triple crossing intelligence officer happened to meet Epstein just a little bit too convenient.
The eclipse will be almost exactly conj. my natal Sun and opposing my Jupiter/Pluto conj. It will be interesting to see what it may bring – I could do with a change. From memory it will also be conj. Yoko Ono’s and John Travolta’s Suns.
It is also closely conjunct my natal sun and square my natal Jupiter. Let’s hope it’s positive change!

What to make of the role of T Uranus, in Taurus, squaring this eclipse? Since it is stationing and turning direct this week, relatively close to the eclipse, perhaps changes in finances, possessions, or self-worth will be part of this eclipse story.

The things that jumped out to me were
(a) How the Sun and Moon are exactly conjunct the Ascendant, when set in Washington DC. That must be a portent of news of huge, perhaps even bigly, importance in Washington DC itself.
(b) Tr Venus is almost exactly conjunct the North Node for the Eclipse. Given the role of the Nodes as a cause of the eclipses, how should one interpret Venus’s prominent placement next to the Nodes?
(c) I also had a look at some of the other charts on your site, Marjorie.
Venus seems to be quite prominently impacted in some charts.
The eclipse is opposition Russia’s 1917 Mars. It is also exactly opposite 1991 Ukraine’s Venus, loosely conjunct that chart’s Sun, Mercury and Jupiter and loosely opposition (6 degrees) the Moon in the Ukraine 1991 chart. I’m hoping that Ukraine’s Jupiter is activated in a positive manner. Could that mean that Russia will step up its attacks, but that it will be to Ukraine’s advantage?
It (the eclipse) conjunct Iran’s 1501 Uranus and is loosely conjunct (5 degrees) the Islamic republic’s Venus and almost exactly quincunx that chart’s Jupiter. Some sort of forced change in Iran, perhaps led by a woman? (as an aside, there is a Youtube video by @usefulcharts, exploring who would be the potential Shah of Iran if Iran returned to a monarchy, and both the older dynasties don’t have male heirs in the next generations, only female heirs).

Venus us supportive of eclipse. Hinduism places it as teacher, guru of demons who represent north node the beheaded head of Rahul, the Demon King.
But since this one opposes Leo which is home of Sun ,where Venus combusts so no positives for Venus.

I have observed eclipses at times,start showing effect atleast a month or Fortnite earlier whose result one finds in all gone in a second ..just like ashes turned of North node as it battles Sun during eclipse. Though it changes lives completely in that period of its aftermath.
The economic increase is built on sand. Inflation is eating the middle-class on down and the AI bubble is the only thing keeping the economy afloat.
For sure, the economy is not working for the middle or lower classes in the USA and they are getting hit with huge health insurance increases both in subsidies and from Trumps big bill undoing some of the ACA protections for consumers.
Add in the tariffs and the fact that Americans are paying $1200 extra a year due to Trump (according to a recent report) and it’s not pretty.
I shudder to imagine what will happen when the tech industry bubble bursts due to AI’s failure to deliver as promised. Pluto in Aquarius seems poised to show us tech’s weaknesses.
P.s. just touching on the crime rates, Trump can’t take credit for that because it started the year before — in Biden’s last year, and that’s one reason why they’ve had trouble convincing courts that they needed to militarize cities.
DC’s murder rates and violent crime rates had dropped significantly as had Portland, e.g., in both 2024 and then 2025 (both for different reasons, local policing laws etc). Portland has not gone back down to pre pandemic yet, but is on a good trajectory.
Country wide the U.S. has had decreases in violent crime that began in 2023 according to experts, unrelated to ICE activities.

More job losses announced today – the economy, or rather, the stock market, continues to ‘work’ for the rich, not the rest. I am retiring (much needed but scary), and have told my supervisors that it should be easier to find a competent (and not too expensive, given our non-profit status) replacement for me, whereas this wouldn’t have been the case a few years back.
I wonder if this eclipse may reflect significant timing/events connected to the relationship between President Trump/US and President Zelensky/Ukraine.
