The US has attacked Venezuela and captured President Nicolas Maduro and his wife. Attorney General Pam Bondi says he has been indicted in New York on drugs and weapons charges and Secretary of State Marco Rubio anticipates no further action against Venezuela. Reports say that Maduro earlier this week wanted to reach a deal with Trump, which would have given him immunity from prosecution, allowed him to keep his vast wealth and significantly would allow the US to access Venezuela’s oil. No deal was made.
This morning, air strikes were finally launched.
Many share the fear that the attack and Maduro’s departure could trigger even greater destabilisation in a country already battered by years of political, economic and social crisis.
There is not a great deal to add to previous posts except that the Venezuela 22 September 1830 chart appears to work better than the 1811 one which is in general use. It marks the second independence of the country from the Spanish. It has a final degree Virgo Sun (like France) which is being opposed and undermined by tr Neptune exactly now into February 2026; with maybe an early Sagittarius Moon in line for the tr Uranus opposition in 2026 or further on.
Trump has a visceral dislike of Maduro with a composite Mars Pluto trine Saturn trine Jupiter with Saturn opposition Neptune. Though there is nothing too dramatic showing up on Maduro’s chart which might make me wonder if it is accurate.
Trump does not interface well with the Venezuela 1830 chart either with a composite Uranus trine Saturn Sun sextile Mars Pluto. His birth chart relocated to Venezuela puts his Mars closer to the Ascendant with tr Uranus square the Mars/Ascendant midpoint now and moving to square the relocated Ascendant by mid March 2026.
The Venezuela, 5 July 1911 chart would indicate turbulence ahead with the Solar Arc Uranus square the Pluto in 2026 so a people’s revolt or a coup might be in the offing.
The attack described by Trump as “brilliant” happened around 2am this morning in Caracas with the pro-active Sun, Venus, Mars in Capricorn in the 3rd and the Saturn Neptune Scheat conjunction along with Nessus in the attention-seeking 5th house – and divisive Uranus in the 7th.
It reminded me slightly of the Iraq Attack chart of 20 March 2003 which when relocated from Baghdad to Washington DC had the final degree Pisces Sun Mercury in the grandstanding 5th , Mars in Capricorn in the 3rd and Jupiter in the 9th. Some similarities. And that did not end well.
It is also exactly 36 years since Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega surrendered on January 3 1990 after the US invasion under President George H Bush and spent decades later in prison for drug trafficking and racketeering offences despite his previous longstanding ties with American intelligence agencies.

How would the Mars-Uranus conj on 7/4/26 affect his chart?
It seems to me that Trump has been lashing out at anyone and everyone over this past year because he’s had difficult transits. That’s what people who lack personal responsibility do when difficult times hit, they lash out at others or create upheaval to distract. It may calm down for him once the outers move on as he has few early degree planets. The rest of us can only hope.
That said, I think if you take a look at the bigger picture, Trump is doing the work of Uranus moving into Gemini and Pluto into Aquarius as he upsets the current world order. His disruption is going to force change of direction. The current politicians are quietly clinging onto their “the economy is the only thing which matters” policy hoping he will be gone and they can get back to normal in three year’s time. Most voters around the world are unhappy with their government but also feel hopelessness at what the alternative politicians have to offer. Undoubtedly what Trump is doing is distasteful but it may ultimately result in a change of direction we all want and need.
Alberta is far from being “the rebel province” when polls have consistently shown support for Albertan independence stuck between 22% and 29%, depending on the poll. The recall initiative that the right wing United Conservative Party introduced which permits by-elections in constituencies if enough disgruntled electors sign a petition is backfiring on the party, with nearly a quarter of all Members of the Legislative Assembly, including Premier Danielle Smith, subject to recall petitions. While the measure may not affect the UCP’s majority government, the recall movement is seen as an embarrassing indication of growing dissatisfaction with Smith’s government, one which has seen its share of scandals and controversies involving health services, ethics and education.
Leading actors from the Albertan secessionist movement have met with American politicians in Washington in 2025 and have crowed about receiving financial backing from the U.S. in the event that Albertan independence is declared. Many of the supporters of Albertan independence have ties to the province’s fossil fuel industries that are dominated by American interests, and there are strong suspicions that dark money from right-wing types in the U.S. is financing the secesionists’ campaign for a referendum on independence.
As for Quebec, the pro-secessionist Parti Québécois currently leads all other parties in the province with support from roughly 37% of voters, which is enough support to form a majority government in a first-past-the-post electoral system. Unfortunately for supporters of independence, support for secession from Canada remains stalled in the 35% to 38% range. He states the “apprehension mission” began at 10:46 pm EST (22:46) when Trump gave the order to proceed. The military arrived at Maduro’s compound at 1:01 pm EST (13:01), or 2:01 local time in Caracas. After that, Maduro was captured.
Sorry, correction: the time of the arrival was 1:01 AM EST, and the same in 24 hour time. The date of the order to proceed was January 2. The date of arrival was Jan. 3.
Another thing to note about Trump in Venezuela, he is after oil. Trump does not believe in climate change and green energy, he still sees fossil fuels as the future. Even in the “Big Beautiful bill” he has allocated some millions to support the oil industry. He is clearly leading the country into a disaster, there is already an oversupply of oil in the market, now if he puts Venezuela’s oil in the market again, the oil prices are going to fall even harder. Standard Chartered has projected crude oil prices to hit $15 dollars this year. I still don’t see anything significant that Trump is gping to achieve in Venezuela. Maybe he is trying to distract attention from the Epstein files that are still haunting him. The Epstein ghost is not going away anytime soon.

Don’t know about oil industry oer se, but oil is Pisces and Neptune. Neptune has been virtually stationary at 29 degrees Pisces the last 2-3 months and is crossing into Aries in 3 weeks time. As others have mentioned, opposite Venezuela Sun at 29 Virgo which was conjuncted by Solar Eclipse in September.

Yes, it is about oil… and the Venezuelan far-right opposition leader Machado – the new favourite of the West after Juan Guaido’s corruption was exposed – long before the invasion has met multiple times in Miami with oil, mining and real estate development CEOs, promising to privatise all of Venezuela’s resources and coastline, allegedly worth 1.7 trillion dollars. Russia, China, Canada and other oil producers will not be pleased with this appropriation of Venezuela’s oil, since it will exacerbate the existing supply glut. Britain (BP) and Europe (Shell, Equinor) are refusing to condemn the US action because they stand to gain from sharing in the exclusive right to exploit these offshore fields. Modern-day pirates and thieves who hide behind the guise of democracy.

Short answer, imo: Nope. Trump just keeps on trucking until his health caves some day, but not too soon. His chart is like a fortress for protecting him. Not saying it isn’t possible, but possible isn’t the same as likely. He may hang in for his full term and fade into ill health as time passes, with his power hungry henchmen salivating in anticipation of his decline. They may be disappointed.
The administration may blast onward, or begin to struggle under more difficult circumstances, but not be defeated fully. And the Constitution may win in the long run, but it’s looking to be a rough stretch ahead. Trump’s progressed Sun at 9 Virgo has 3 degrees to go until it squares his progressed Vertex in Gemini, so about 3 years. As they say, elections have consequences. And certainly one hopes the structure of the US government, even if it is shaken, will stand for the long run.
