France – in the eye of the storm

France has the misfortune to be in the centre of the calamitous Scheat storm in coming months. The government may fall next week if a confidence vote fails with Left and Right catching the prime minister in a vice as he attempts to address the problem of a massive national debt by controlling spending, cutting the number of public holidays, freezing income tax thresholds and limiting the rise in social security and pensions.

France this year had the third highest debt pile in the eurozone — after Greece and Italy — at 114 per cent of GDP. It’s budget deficit is the highest in the single currency area. With already high rates of taxation the problem is not revenue raising but swathes of inefficient and unproductive government spending.

Youth unemployment is over 15 per cent (UK 9 per cent); and the French are in a permanent state of anxiety over migration and the failures of integration.

France, 21 September 1792 3.30pm Paris, has its final degree Virgo Sun catching this September’s Virgo Solar Eclipse exactly for a full blown crisis before in in the following months. Plus over the winter tr Saturn and tr Neptune both square the France Virgo Sun for setbacks and high uncertainty.

The Banque de France chart with Uranus in late Virgo is also in line of the Eclipse and tr Saturn Neptune – so financial woes will mount.

Emmanuel Macron, 21 December 1977 10.40am with his Sun Mercury in final degree Sagittarius catches all of the above in hard aspect plus his Solar Arc Mars at 29 Virgo will be in a car-crash square to his Sun now and for the rest of this year.

His Second Term chart, 13 May 2022, has a Mars Neptune conjunction which is now closing to exact – which will turn a publicity-attracting term into an embarrassing failure.

If the PM Francis Bayrou’s confidence vote by a miracle survives he faces even more acute pressure in 2026.

There are increasing murmurs that the bond (debt) markets will be the ones who force decisions not just in France but also the UK and even more so the USA.

  1. Journalist, Olga Nesterova, posted on Bluesky an article from Euroweekly News. Headline is “France orders hospitals war ready by March, 2026.” According to the article, a memo for this directive has been leaked. Could this mean France will be assisting UKR more directly?

  2. France’s chart will be agitated in coming years with its natal Uranus-Pluto opposition being challenged by a Pluto return in 2036 and a Uranus return in the following decade. It could be unrecognizable in twenty years. In the short term however, the transit of Uranus in Gemin shoiuld be favorable. Its two previous Uranus returns in Leo have also been very positive, with the defnitiive installation of a progressive republic in the 1870s and the advent of Charles de Gaulle’s presidency and the stable consitution of the Fifth Republic in 1959.

  3. It is, perhaps, also worth noting that US debt:gdp currently stands at 140% and is growing. So concerns there, also. Could we be heading for a perfect storm?

    • Yes the economic journalists are getting very wound up about the bond markets and debt – US, UK and France etc. They reckon dumping Jerome Powell would create a considerable backlash which even Trump would have to notice.

      • I was looking for an old post on the similarities (or not) with the late 1970’s, but couldn’t find it. I did, however, find this from December 2019:

“The September 2025 Solar Eclipse indicates clearly the forces in play – a Uranus in Gemini trine Pluto in Aquarius trine New Moon which is opposition Saturn Neptune. It’s a powerful mix of outer planets all interconnected, so it will be accompanied by significant events.” Marjorie, December 2019

  4. Thanks Marjorie. We’re in the build-up to the eclipses now I imagine? I realised that there was a Solar Eclipse in September 1968 at 29 Virgo on the French Sun. They also had tr Uranus there, so the eclipse would have added extra energy. 1968 was the famous year of the Spring student protests, plus strikes – although strikes aren’t exactly uncommon in French history! By September there were severe floods in Nice, and a major Air France crash. I haven’t checked on other years, but this one certainly stood out.

  5. ‘Youth unemployment is over 15 per cent (UK 9 per cent); and the French are in a permanent state of anxiety over migration and the failures of integration.”
Why then would Macron’s government introduce mass immigration if the the system was/is so financially precarious.
It’s an unsustainable, negligent, reckless scheme by the elites to undermine the country and its people.

  6. This Solar Eclipse belongs to the Saro Series 9 South and brings to the surface
long-term worries and issues to do with paperwork. This could manifest as
responsibilies with paperworrk coming home to roost. Any news will havee a
sense of destiny or fatedness about it.
