The US stock market has lost $1 trillion in just four days as a sell-off of tech companies deepened amid fears that an AI-powered stock market rally could be about to collapse. The drop-off has been fuelled by concerns that AI companies are overvalued, with some claiming they have little to show for the billions of pounds of investment that have been ploughed into companies such as OpenAI.
Stock Market prediction is an even less exact ‘science’ than electoral forecasting though some rules do hold good. One is that Jupiter Neptune is a harbinger of bubble-bursting as was the case for the 2000 DotCom bust when there was an exact square. One occurred earlier this year and the next hard aspect is due mid 2028. But on its own it happens relatively frequently so more must be involved.
Looking across various stock indexes and AI/tech companies involved, 2028 does flag up as a period of major disruption with a fair amount of upheaval between now and then. By 2028 there is not only Jupiter opposition Neptune but also Saturn in Taurus square Pluto which might hint at a major war somewhere on the globe which could affect trade and economics. In 2028 tr Pluto will also oppose the US ‘leadership’ Leo North Node which is a sensitive point. Tr Neptune opposed it at 9/11 – I am not suggesting anything similar merely that it will affect the USA’s status through 2027/28.
The Nasdaq 8 February 1971 9am New York, has tr Uranus opposition its Neptune Jupiter in 2026/27 along with tr Saturn Neptune square the financial Venus in 2026 into 2027; with a major jolt of insecurity in 2028 as the Solar Arc Uranus is conjunct the Mars.
S&P 500 4 March 1957 will be up and down through the coming winter, edgy, confused and unsettled in 2026/27 and most at risk of panic/failure in 2028.
The FTSE (UK) 3 January 1984 again looks unsettled in 2026/27 with tr Uranus opposition the Venus; and most agitated in 2028 with SA Neptune square Saturn and SA Mars conjunct Uranus.
Notable companies involved in this sector of the market – Nvidia, Intel, Palantir, Meta, Amazon – all look to be following the same pattern with a bumpy road for two/three years peaking in significant challenges by 2027/28.
ADD ON: A doom warning about a fool’s paradise is also being issued about crypto currency, described by an FT journalist as ‘either genius financial engineering — or a Ponzi scheme upon a Ponzi scheme or a CDO-squared’.
Charles Ponzi had raised as much as $20mn in seven months a century ago in a scam investment scheme that promised to double investors’ money in 90 days.
CDOs are collateralised debt obligations — the mortgage derivatives that boomed in the years up to 2008. Like crypto, they were a hyped asset class with little fundamental value. ‘As the fever peaked, CDOs were so hot that financial engineers dreamt up the CDO-squared — made from an amalgam of other sliced-and-diced CDOs, which in turn had sliced and diced the original ropey mortgages. Disaster, predictably, ensued.’
A skip through a few crypto charts also highlights 2028 as a year of upset and alarm with a fair few upheavals and setbacks before then.
I wouldn’t touch crypto with a barge pole. You absolutely have to know exactly what you’re doing and most people don’t. I remember being mocked by my somewhat know-it-all cousin because my investment habits are low to medium risk, unexciting, reliable, plodding and slightly old fashioned, (2nd house Sun in Libra square 5th house Saturn in Capricorn) whereas he had just bought a load of high tech dot coms. This was around 2000 and we all know what happened!
Regarding the weird growth of emerging AI:
The 10 degree decans of any sign’s expansion suggest a lot. As with movement of any planet into a new sign, the first decan of the new sign represents a sort of infancy, a time in real life that corresponds when children often do dumb things like putting forks into electrical sockets to see what happens; shocking but true. AI is in it’s infancy and ‘child-minded’ adults are playing a similar game of exploration, trying to fool everybody and display their own ignorance of the potential harms of misusing AI (without regard for consequences) to see what happens.
Marjorie, I believe this is the first time you have mentioned the possibility of a major war in 2028. Perhaps you could look at Taiwan’s and China’s charts. I have just seen an article stating that the Philippines would be dragged kicking and screaming into the fight in the Pacific, which could be another interesting chart.
In addition to the aspects you mention, there is of course the US Uranus return which has always brought existential wars when the return was completed at 8 Gemini. This also happens in 2028. Also, one must consider that for the first time progressed US Mars is retrograde, meaning that any impulsive aggression would backfire. Pluto on the US IC will be ominous.
We must not forget that existential wars in the past under Uranus in Gemini all began with enemy attacks on the US. The Revolutionary War began with a British landing force near Boston. The Civil War began with the attack on Fort Sumter. WWII, for the US, began with Pearl Harbour.
The existential war ends when Uranus approaches US Mars at 20 Gemini square Neptune. This so far has meant victory with a spiritual dimension, but also the capacity for self-delusion. It’s about the noble warrior. George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and General Eisenhower come to mind. Again, progressed Mars retrograde could bring a different outcome for the first time.
I would expect a Chinese attack on Taiwan in 2027, the self-declared deadline set by Xi Jinping for resolving this issue by force if necessary. 2028 would be when China strikes the US directly, and when this conflict becomes global and terrifies the world. I do not believe this will lead to nuclear annihilation, but it could be a very close call.
The war should end with a bang which could be nuclear at the Saturn-Uranus conjunction in 2032. This conjunction will be conjunct US Mars and Israel Uranus. Israel could use nuclear weapons of its own. The Saturn-Uranus conjunction will also be conjunct Trump’s personal Sun-Uranus conjunction. If he is still alive and in power, he would also be the most likely president to use nuclear weapons since Truman. If not, his chart will live on. Hitler’s chart has been active in recent years as Trump came to power and war returned to our screens.
Will Trump become involved if Taiwan is invaded? On present showing, questionnable. Think of the Peace Prize! If he does, will he expect support from NATO? Or perhaps the more relevant question (given his behaviour over the past six months) is would the other countries of NATO be prepared to back him?
Japan, Australia and the Philippines will be dragged into this conflict regardless of Trump. The UK has said it will defend Australia and Taiwan. By 2028, this will be a global war regardless of what Trump thinks. The US is always late for world wars. It waits to be attacked.
Andre You need to tone it down. Saturn Pluto comes round in hard aspect relatively frequently and is by no means a guarantee of a global war – indeed astrology is never that definitive about anything. You have a catastropherian approach which is tiring to be on the receiving end.

But when it comes to AI companies, they are not over valued as it is portrayed in the media, when Facebook debuted on Nasdaq for the first time back on 18 May 2012, most people lost money from it’s stock. There were complaints that Godman Sachs over valued its stock price. But over time after a few years the stock price went up and it made Mark Zuckerberg one of the richest people in the world, and he is one of the great investors today of AI, he has invested billions of dollars this year, under project name ‘Superintelligence’. It is normal for every product when it enters the market to cause some chaos or experience some hiccups. Looking on Astrology side, AI is definitely on the upper trajectory, there is no way it is slowing down in the coming years. Yes, there will be ups and downs in it’s stocks in the coming years with Pluto and Saturn making a hard aspect when Saturn enters Taurus. Pluto is in Aquarius until 2043, technology will dominate.

On the question of AI, I saw a response to an article recently that admitted it was based directly on an AI generated answer to a Google search. I was immediately struck by the thought of how repressive regimes (Russia, China, North Korea, Iran and the like – and maybe some so-called democratic ones) could use their control of the internet to completely falsify news, facts and general information. I am a fan of the possibilities offered by using AI in, say, medicine; but some of its other applications are a cause for alarm.
This is already happening in North America.When one Googles a subject,person,or news source an AI “concierge” pops up first -to give you a biased summary of the subject.
Similar to the “Fact-checkers”, so prevalent over the past several years,that were paid-third-party partisans-stifling free thought and debate.

It’s possible that politically engaged Republicans are more likely to express distrust in fact-checkers because they have been cued to do so, rather than because of a deeply held belief.’

As far as I can tell, the checks themselves are biased. Its a blitz of Republicans who are checked way above their proportionate number and includes fact checks on many statements that are clearly hyperbole.
Trump wrote in 1987 “People want to believe that something is the biggest and the greatest and the most spectacular. I call it truthful hyperbole…It’s an innocent form of exaggeration — and a very effective form of promotion.”
I went to Politifact to find an example of why no one listens to these people. Easy peasy.

No.1 that we can find anywhere in the world,” Trump said, holding up a chart comparing homicide rates across capital cities. “Other cities are pretty bad, but they’re not as bad as that.””
They then take him out of context and the first sentence they write is “President Donald Trump said Washington, D.C.’s homicide rate is higher than “the worst places on Earth.””
Did he say that? No. But the strawman has been erected.
Now they go on a riff about American cities, the year of the data 2023…blah blah blah… The strawman is burning.
Sixteen paragraphs down, think about that for a minute, how many people are still reading this fact check article at the sixteenth paragraph?

There is the bias written in their own words. They understood Trump had compared Washington to Bogota and Mexico City and they invented an entire strawman to rate him false but what he said was true. Washington’s homicide rate is higher than Bogota and Mexico City. But they rated him false.
Then they add a bit more tearing down that argument to complain about of all things gun proliferation, that shows their political bias is left leaning, to whittle away at Trump’s true statement which they have rated false.
There is absolutely no reason to believe anything these people say or write. This was published and has not been corrected. All these folks have is their credibility but when they publish this stuff they shouldn’t be surprised when people stop listening to them.
