Out of the bin into a resurrected-possible, leftwing Jeremy Corbyn has attracted half a million signatories for his new, as yet, unnamed party.
His partner in the venture Zarah Sultana says their policies will include “democratic public ownership of key industries, universal free childcare, rent controls, free public transport and much more”. Corbyn, added there is “huge appetite for the policies that are needed to fix society”, including “wealth redistribution, housing justice, and a foreign policy based on peace and human rights”.
They are an odd couple. JC, 26 May 1949, is a Sun, Venus, Mercury and Uranus in Gemini with Neptune in Libra and Jupiter in Aquarius – very airy and ideological. With a tough-minded Mars (Moon) in Taurus square Pluto and Saturn in Leo.
ZS, 31 October 1993, on the other hand has a ferocious collection of Mercury, Mars, Pluto square Saturn in Aquarius with her Sun in Scorpio as well plus a Taurus Moon.
JC is having a high-tension, argumentative winter with tr Uranus square his Saturn in November/December and April 20026 – and tr Uranus conjunct his Sun from July 2026 onwards into 2027. Uranus being a trickster changes in his life could go either way. His midpoints don’t look cheerful until 2028 and even then there are major pitfalls. 2026/27 look depressed/unpopular with his Solar Arc Venus conjunct his Saturn.
ZS also looks in turmoil and insecure across this winter with a hard push thereafter.
Corbyn’s relationship with the UK does not leap out as being overly positive with a hostile Mars Pluto square Uranus Saturn and a pie-in-the-sky composite Jupiter opposition Neptune. The UK and ZS is also fraught with composite Uranus opposition Saturn square Mars – plus a marginally more upbeat Jupiter trine Pluto.
The launch, such as it was, on 24 July 2025 12.22pm London is very much aligned to the new era with Pluto trine Uranus sextile Saturn Neptune. Pluto in the 4th opposition the Sun Moon hints internal problems within the party of control and domination with divisions over finances (Uranus in the 8th) and problematic policies over employment and health.
Procyon, Fixed planet of rise and fall sits close to the Midheaven and 10th house Moon. Tr Jupiter moving through the 10th from late this September to October 2026 (and a hint into June 2027) could suggest an early surge of popularity which then dissipates.
What it will do is split the Labour vote and Reform is splitting the right wing sector. So who knows? All into the melting pot.
My prejudices are probably showing but having lived through the Cold War and seen the disaster of left wing economics I am no fan of Corbyn and his ilk. Starmer may be awful but further left would be worse. And yes, I know the right are horrific in a different way on economics but there are gradations of calamities.
Quite. And to that I’d add Blair’s government.
The media tends to assess fringe and minority parties by their chances of winning but their value lies in their sometimes batty innovative ideas and directions. Their effect over the years has been considerable. And vital. You’re so right about displacement activities and our sclerotic self interested civil service bureaucracy but while we can pretty much guarantee it won’t be any of the established parties who effect this change, Corbyn is unlikely to do so either. After all he’s a man who hasn’t changed his mind since he was 14.
Sorry. This was in response to Hugh Fiwler’s post
Yes to Hugh and Zita’s comments. I think it’s curious about Corbyn’s solid adherence to his early ideals, with Mercury in Gemini. But thinking about other political Geminis – Boris Johnson’s Mercury is close to Corbyn’s, and despite all the performative chaos and hair ruffling, his early boyhood desire to be ‘world king’ never really faded away. But they both have a stubborn fixed sign Moon. D Trump on the other hand has the disruptive Sun Uranus Nodes in Gemini, but Mercury in Cancer. He also holds tight to early views and statements – eg a belief in tarrifs. On the surface everything whirls about, underneath he sometimes says things he’s proposed way back in the 1980’s. Another Gemini with three marriages too.
To add – at 16 Gemini is the brilliant fixed star Rigel, in the constellation of Orion, the hunter. It has a Jupiter Saturn nature.
“It is said to give a strong and dignified nature, self-confidence, inconstancy, arrogance, violence, impiety, prosperity in trade and particularly by voyages or abroad, but danger of treachery and poison. It was thought by the Romans to be very harmful to cattle and productive of storms. By the Kabalists it is associated with the Hebrew letter Aleph and the 1st Tarot Trump “The Juggler.” [Robson, p.55.]
Both Johnson and Corbyn experienced ‘treachery’ from their colleagues. I like the reference to Tarot’s The Juggler, which suggests Gemini rather well.
Whatever faults Jeremy Corbyn may or may not possess he is not responsible for the situation in which the U.K. finds itself at the moment. The blame for that situation very much lies with the former Tory governments and the current Labour administration under Starmer together with the bureaucratic establishment of civil service departments and quangos that appear utterly unable to deal with any of the country’s big problems. In particular there is far too much displacement activity where resources are directed at endless legislation and regulation which ultimately makes no difference to dealing with issues such as high energy prices, inflation, the trade and PSBR deficit, migration, housing, crumbling infrastructure etc
Thanks Marjorie. They are somehow channeling the current Pluto trine Uranus, sextile Saturn and Neptune I feel. Since that pattern points towards change, and keys into the UK 1801 yod of Uranus sextile Jupiter inconjunct Pluto, this new party seems to have a part to play (along with Reform) in deconstructing the old politics of whatever flavour. Curiously, right wing Reform’s stance is also in favour of nationalising key utilities like energy and water – strange to think these two movements have something more or less in common.
Further odd connections: both Corbyn and the disruptive whirlwind that was Boris Johnson are multiple Geminis with a fixed sign Moon. People voted for Johnson, not Corbyn, but either way I suspect a disrupted era was approaching whoever was PM. A Gemini with three marriages was going to be in charge either way!
Both Johnson and Corbyn connect with the UK Mercury in Sagittarius sextile Venus in Aquarius – Johnson has Mercury 19 Gemini, Corbyn Mercury 16 Gemini conjunct Venus 15 Gemini trine Neptune. Both also connect with the 1066 chart’s 29 Pisces Moon square Uranus 28 Sagittarius – Johnson via his Sun conjunct Venus, 28 Gemini. Corbyn via his Uranus at 29 Gemini sextile Saturn, 29 Leo. The 1066 Moon/Uranus could represent a disrupted and unsettled population at the time of the Norman Invasion, and a significant change for the population. We’ll see if the September 29 Virgo eclipse has an effect – it opposes that old 1066 UK Pisces Moon. Tr Saturn will conjunct the Pisces Moon at the time of the eclipse. By then Corbyn and Sultana’s party should have a name, be registered with the Electoral Commission and have something to challenge Labour at Conference time. Discombobulating Neptune arrives there for the final pass in October. Marjorie’s ‘gradations of calamities’ look all set to continue.
I seem to recall that Labour under Corbyn attracted a surge in membership. It didn’t translate into an election win for him though.
One of my friends lives in his constituency and summed him up well – “great local MP but not a leader of a political party”.
Those airy planets, as Marjorie says, makes him very ideological and that’s great until ideology meets reality. To me those Gemini and Libra planets give him an air of childlike charm. He comes across as someone who hasn’t quite grown up. I like him but I wouldn’t vote for him or Sultana.
I am hopeful that Pluto in Aquarius may lead to other parties being created and the introduction of proportional representation across UK elections.
Graduations of Calamities Marjorie. That is such a great name for any of the parties!
Starmer’s labour gov is head and shoulders ahead in instituting Marxist behaviour and ideology than Corbyn.
It was Corbyn that tried to bring the plight of the Palestinians to the forefront years ago-only to be maligned as anti semitic.
Starmer veiled suppression of free speech under the guise suppressing of online hate-where officials show up at your door to give ‘advice “ on things you should not be doing-like criticizing mass immigration policies or grooming gangs-calling those who have concerns about the 400% increase in rape-since 2012- “far-right’ ,’racist” or guilty of “Islamophobia”.No meaningful discourse or debate is allowed. Starmer’s spearheads alarming government-led crackdowns on online discourse. Under his watch, police have been knocking on doors over social media posts that have precisely nothing to do with terrorism, child exploitation, or any other actual crime. His administration is plowing ahead with the Online Safety Act, a “legislative train wreck that gives bureaucrats the power to decide which words are acceptable and which should be digitally incinerated.”Starmer’s bill feigns protection of children and is touted as the reason for the online bill’s sole existence -but the grooming gangs that have harmed innumerable girls goes unaddressed-save for another consultant report-with state police in lockstep with the government’s shameful, willful failure to take the crimes against these children seriously.
“if you want a picture of the future imagine a boot stamping on a face forever” said orwell. With today’s pitch of his ‘eyeball ID’ to banks, Sam Altman and co guarantee Corbyn et al will be amusing blips on the road to everyone being very well behaved techno boys and girls despite much hopium and protesting. Strapline: “Be more Han”.
Although Boris Johnson claimed the large Conservative majority won at the 2019 election was down to him it was widely accepted that, when canvassed, people said “Anyone but Corbyn”! Rather like Sunak’s rain-drenched announcement of the election last year and his disastrous campaign, I wonder if the muddle over the Your Party (temporary name) launch with a confusing pre announcement by ZS, plus the fact JC will be 80 if the election is in 4 years, may suggest anything but a smooth path to success?
We are having this summer a preview of a new era. We will go back to the old in the fall but things move forward again next year. That does not mean every initiative made this summer will be successful. But the return of the left and humanitariain ideals in the name of a orwld consciousness in some new form, thanks to Pluto in Aquarius, is now slowly under way. Russia, Israel and the US appear headed for decline because they refuse to change a narrow national outlook. Trump is a passing circumstance.
I think the party was launched, as I said, during VOC Moon – nothing happens, nothing changes. Always reminded of a story from a message board in which, if I recall well, a restaurant was open during such a time: at first it was full and brimming with activity. Ultimately, it closed down.
Spme VOC Moon keywords: ‘non-effectiveness, things don’t materialize, things don’t go as planned, actions are ungrounded, directionless, or nonproductive, non-events, nothing comes of it, lack of connection, follow-thorugh, or lasting consequence’…
Agree that Britain needs fixing in some ways. Disagree that Corbyn is the person to do this or has the British electorate at heart.
Corbyn and other leaders need to listen and serve the electorate instead of their own ego and ideologies. The next UK election will come around the time of Saturn Square Pluto and I think this transit will be pivitol to the outcome.
