Palestine Action – rights and wrongs

Palestine Action, a leading activist group has been banned by the home secretary, proscribed as a terrorist organization, “aligned with the Iranian regime”, after vandalism of two military aircraft at the RAF’s largest base. Palestine Action had its first foray on 30 July 2020 by campaigners who had broken away from Extinction Rebellion (XR), the climate exchange group, and the Palestine Solidarity Campaign.

It has provoked a demonstration in London; with Jeremy Corbyn saying that the “draconian” proscribing of Palestine Action as a terrorist group “is an outrageous and authoritarian crackdown on the right to oppose genocide”.

Co-founder Richard Barnard, was charged last year with encouraging criminal damage, urging activists to “smash Israeli weapons factories” and expressing support for a proscribed terrorist group, Hamas, at pro-Palestinian rallies in Manchester and Bradford. He pleaded not guilty and faces trial next year. Another campaigner received suspended 23-month jail sentences last year after being convicted of burglary and damaging property at a British firm it claims supplies equipment to the Israeli army.

Huda Ammori, another co-founder was a former Labour activist for Jeremy Corbyn but turned away from the party under Starmer.

The Palestine Action chart is certainly over-heated and potentially violent with a Jupiter Pluto Saturn in Capricorn opposition Mercury square Mars in Aries – hot-headed, aggressive, rule-breakers.  The Pluto has moved by Solar Arc to conjunct the Saturn exactly now as it comes to a halt along  with a frustrating, enraged, powerless SA Mars square Pluto  approaching.

Huda Ammori, 17 March 1994, London, is a Sun Pisces trine Pluto sextile Uranus Neptune in Capricorn – intense, controlling, excitable, intransigent. With an uncompromising Mercury in Aquarius square Pluto; and a hard-edged Mars Saturn conjunct in Pisces.  The September Solar Eclipse will oppose her Sun for for a crisis turning point; with the February 26 Solar Eclipse conjunct her Mercury, and tr Uranus will oppose her Pluto across this year end – a rattled, disruptive phase.

A phrase that is circulating in various fraught debates at the moment – “when good people fail to act, bad men take over” – seems relevant. Anger over the plight of Palestinians is more than legitimate. But the mainstream frowns, winces and does nothing creating a vacuum into which the zealots leap, carrying on the fight in often anti-social ways.

The far left cosying up to militant Islam? You wonder if they think their alliances through – or what it would be like if they actually lived in Iran or a Hamas stronghold?

  1. The current philosophy of the state is they are usually the sole owner of the monopoly of legitimate force/violence. Without it, I would think most folks who write here think this would be the best arrangement of the state. The day individuals are allowed or can exert force without consequence there is an anarchy. Private licensed violence (nobles with private armies) is usually feudalism.

In the USA, Americans have a right to carry arms because of the UK king and parliament abused and then couldn’t maintain their ownership of force. Quartering soldiers in colonists homes was one overt display of this. As a result, the US has decentralized ownership of legitimate force.

This chart is concerning because it has the Gemini north node – consuming Britishness, Sagittarius south node – producing foreigness. Capricorn Saturn 4h authoritarian government in the home.

I can’t really speak to the examples you cite not knowing the astrology of the IRA or Mandela but America (Sibley chart) is designed to balance protest, aggression and government.

The Gemini Mars and Gemini Uranus are the guarantors of American liberty. The fighters in the streets, rebels in the streets.
Leo north node 8h – consume the prince, Aquarius south node 2h – produce rebellion/individuation/liberty
Libra Saturn 10h – balance the government
Capricorn Pluto 2h – ownership of a fear of government vs. the government fears
Merc 8h – fearful neighborhood in turn rules Gem Uranus 6h manifesting rebels which in turn rules Aquarius Moon 3h Americans in the streets/towns
Also Aquarius Moon cj rx Pallas 3h past wisdom of the rebellion in the local neighborhood.

Protest matters in America because the astrological conditions support it influencing the government but there is a valve that shuts off the influence at a certain point.

How this works is the (rx Cap Pluto) Americans fear or the American government fears. Libra Saturn 10h – balance Capricorn, if the people are fearing too much, it’s time to correct by scaring the government. The astrology (rx Merc 8h) unleashes the protests, mobs, effigies, riots. Now the government is too fearful balance by making the people fear. (Merc 8h) propaganda that stengthens the government. One example is the Cold War, move from the cities to survive while the government is built up.

I’ll copy in the relevant portion of Jefferson’s describing this astrological condition and add in the astrology. For brevity I’ve left out a few cues not highly important to the topic of protest and negotiation.

Thomas Jefferson”s letter to William Smith on receiving a copy of the Constitution and considering the government of the Netherlands and Poland. “Wonderful is the effect of impudent and persevering lying (Mercury 8h). The British ministry have so long hired their gazetteers to repeat and model into every form lies about our being in anarchy, that the world has at length believed them, the English nation has believed them, the ministers themselves have come to believe them, and what is more wonderful, we have believed them ourselves (rx Mercury-our Mercury function is addled). Yet where does this anarchy exist? Where did it ever exist, except in the single instance of Massachusets? (Gemini Uranus 6h) And can history produce an instance of a rebellion so honourably conducted? I say nothing of it’s motives (Aquarius Moon cj rx Pallas). They were founded in ignorance, not wickedness (here is more about the we have problems with our Cancer Mercury rx in 8h.) God forbid we should ever be 20. years without such a rebellion. The people can not be all, and always, well informed (Mercury issues again!). The part which is wrong will be discontented in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty (Scorpio 11h). We have had 13. states independant 11. years. There has been one rebellion. That comes to one rebellion in a century and a half for each state. What country before ever existed a century and half without a rebellion? And what country can preserve it’s liberties (Uranus 6h) if their rulers (Libra Saturn 10h) are not warned (rx Mercury) from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance (fixed Moon)? Let them take arms (Gem Mars 7h). The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them (Libra Saturn 10h in action, pacify equals give them something). What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots (Gem Mars) and tyrants (rx Cap Pluto). It is it’s natural manure. (Aries IC blood as the basis of the root & tyrants as manure?, rx Cap Pluto in the 2h)”

    • Not sure protest that doesn’t harm living beings can be equated with nobles and private armies. Sorry if I’m misunderstanding what you meant. This group has attacked unoccupied planes it believes are being used to kill civilians indiscriminately because no one is speaking for them. I would like to see the charts for the leading arms manufacturers around the world and those running them, such as BAe etc. I’m pretty sure there would be some pretty ugly combinations in there too.

  2. Peaceful protest may be best but Tory governments started the process of making even that more difficult and the Labour government has not tried to dismantle any such legislation. I wonder what the astrology says about the level of aggression in protest and its success: Mandela’s ANC, the IRA – I’m sure there are other examples – didn’t do diplomacy for quite a while. There is a hypocrisy in governments, on the one hand arguing that force cannot be used to bring people to the negotiating table while, erm, using force themselves to bring people to the negotiating table. Yes, I agree some of those who shout for Iran’s rights would be terrified yo live under that regime – who wouldn’t – but Palestine Action as I see it – although harbouring the odd seriously undesirable – is taking on companies that are arming what appears to be a quite disproportionate Israeli response to October 7 that very few others with influence will condemn.

  3. “The Palestine Action chart is certainly over-heated and potentially violent with a Jupiter Pluto Saturn”

    Jupiter – enlarging
    Pluto – death &
    Saturn – repression

    Yup. Sounds about right.

Freedom to protest and express opinions does not include the freedom to cause physical damage, especially not to your own country’s defence.

There is a lot of feeling towards the very horrifying situation of the Palestinians in Gaza. But actions like that of Palestine Action and Just Stop Oil lose public support, not gain them.

Activists of all hues and opinions in almost all countries must remember that they will always be in a very small minority and that most people, the famous silent majority, don’t want to rock the boat, even when they agree with the activists’ opinions. Most people want gradual change, not radical change.

    • Don’t forget that the ‘controversial’ actions of Just Stop Oil had a successful outcome – they were part of the reason the government decreed that there would be no new oil and gas licences.

  4. Peaceful protest is best. Very little evidence to support extreme action. I was in Bristol a couple Saturdays ago peacefully (noisy in a good way) highlighting the plight of Palestinians in Gaza. People from all walks of life with Mums pushing pushchaors even. That’s how you get and keep public support.

    • I’ve heard other views – which I’m not advocating – and they are that nothing changes until it becomes dangerous.
