Greenland, a former Danish colony, is a semi-autonomous territory within the kingdom of Denmark and its foreign and security policies are run by Copenhagen. Trump argues that the US needs the vast Arctic island for national and international security and has refused to rule out the use of force to secure it.

He will also experience severe turbulence in twelve months with his Solar Arc Pluto conjunct his Uranus. 2026/27 will dent his confidence and optimism, undermining his lucky streak with tr Neptune Saturn square his Jupiter; and worse with panic and high uncertainty in 2027 with his SA Neptune opposition his Sun and square his Saturn. He may regain his mojo to a degree by 2028 with an opportunistic push from SA Mars conjunct his Jupiter – though that could well backfire with Neptune lurking in the background.
Usha Vance, 6 January 1986, if anything more resolute than her husband with Mars Pluto conjunct in Scorpio, will not enjoy this coming year with SA Saturn conjunct her Capricorn Sun; and panicky failure from SA Neptune square her Mars. Trump dislikes her and 2026/27 may see eruptions or worse as tr Neptune Saturn are conjunct their composite Sun and opposition the composite Mercury Mars; with swampy moments through this year into early 2026 as well.
Trump’s relationship with JD Vance won’t be improved by this year’s two Solar Eclipses both of which collide with their composite Mars for mighty arguments and irritability.

Reading this comment section made me go back to the Michael Lutin Vanity Fair article from 2007. The bit about the words ‘treason’ and ‘patriotism’ especially. Seems like that is the norm in the USA now.
My worry is that Neptune in Pisces was the era of people losing themselves as they peered into the undefined and illusory depths (conspiracy theories, alternative facts, deepfakes, woo-woo etc) but now we’re in the Neptune in Aries era and that could mean losing themselves in the foggy allure of ‘taking assertive action’ and war. It seems important that the US has its natal Uranus at 8 Gemini, and is poised on the edge of its Uranus Return. As we’ve discussed before, Uranus was 9 Gemini at the start of the Civil War in 1861, with Mars 6 Gemini. So this is a sensitive degree area for them. America’s historical role as Watcher of the West is now a point for the most heated debates around the world as our post WW2 consensus is challenged and shaken up – Uranus was in Gemini during WW2, adding further layers of meaning?
Worth noting that Campion’s chart for Quebec, 1608, has Uranus 6 Gemini. Russia 1991 has Mars 6 Sagittarius, while 1917 has Jupiter, the General, the King, and so on, at 9 Gemini. Meanwhile, the Novgorod 862 Russian chart is activated by Neptune, and then Saturn, entering Aries, for it has Sun 1 Libra with Saturn – another potential symbol for challenges to a longstanding leader perhaps?

Why didn’t Trump handle and resolve this important and serious geopolitical issue from 2017-2021? What clues are in the astrology for his first term as to why he did NOT pursue and ultimately “fix” this? All of the same concepts, concerns, strategic worries, especially “American security” were in place from ‘17-‘21. Odd, Trump could have fixed this years ago but did not…? He had four years to exert control and to be successful, especially with assisting 56,000 residents of Greenland to move away and find their freedom, security and safety, elsewhere. Why did he let them down like that… before? Maybe now it’s too little, too late since he hesitated those years ago.

JD Vance is almost universally reviled in the states now. Even the MAGA people don’t much trust or like him, and for due reason. He’s basically Stephen Miller with hair. If he’s supposed to be Trump’s heir apparent, MAGA will certainly collapse completely when Trump is gone.
Also, Vance has close ties with Peter Thiel, the other, stealthier tech robber baron in this play and founder of Palantir, who supposedly has his own designs on Greenland. I did some digging on his astrology after listening to “Behind the Bastards” episodes on him and he is born October 11th, 1967, TOB unknown, but in Germany from where his parents immigrated when he was a baby. What really struck me was that he is one day younger than Gavin Newsom. Most likely they were born well within 24 hours, given the time difference, and have near to identical charts. Thiel might be an Aquarius Moon, which I think is even likely given he has been openly gay through his career, without the very Capricornian need to conform.
This is why astrology can be quite bewildering.

The pair were not welcomed (backs turned toward the Golden Pair) by local leaders, population was waving protest signs (T would have them all skirted away to a Columbian prison), and were refused by all businesses visited by the Golden Pair. “Honey, guess we’re not in Kansas anymore…”

If anything, the last week has shown us that while appearing brilliant, JD Vance is just as weird and socially inept some people pointed out during the campaign.
The Signal Houthi Small Group incident, while not seemingly having any direct consequences to people directly involved, showed JD Vance’s place in the WH. His awkward questioning of a decision that had already been made by injecting “just found this on Wikipedia” level trivia and hatred for Europe to conversation only to be shot down by Mike Waltz inviting Stephen Miller to the group to tell the operation had Trump’s approval, was something I’ve seen in corporate environment a lot, and it has never ended well for the questioner.
The trip to Greenland was also a major PR blunder. Initially, only Usha was supposed to visit, and not a military base but several locations. However, I think that when the Signal messages were leaked, Vances thought it would be good to show loyalty by JD joining. The thing is, the trip was poorly planned to begin with. Local authorities never expressed any interest in meeting Usha, yet JD. Local journalists report that ultimately the US officials were knocking doors in Nuuk searching for people who might be interested. Really amateurish and potentially embarassing thing.
What this shows to me is that what might, ultimately, bring down Trump WH, is sheer incompetence. Not likely shown in any individual chart, but I have always wondered about Inauguration Chart 2025 Venus/Saturn in Pisces 11th house inconjunct 6th house Moon. While the Republicans in Congress have appeared to appease Trump World this far, Signal debacle actually prompted the Republican Senate Armed Services Committee chair Roger Wickers to call for an investigation, and I suspect more of the similar as DJT’s cognitive decline continues. They will not attack Trump directly, but will amplify dividing lines in WH.
Greenland is actually situated nearer Canada than Denmark. It would be interesting to see a Canada’s composite chart with Greenland. Also China’s. Trump wants Canada and Greenland. Not just Greenland. The more you look at where Greenland is situated, you can see why there is a lot of interest in it. A base for China would put it in a strategic place to target North America. Actually I feel this is far more uglier under the surface than we are looking at.
What is the Cartography for Greenland? Especially for the next Eclipses as this may have moved on a stage further by then? As the nature of War never changes. First came land, then oil and now minerals? As minerals etc are far more important for our modern world. Greenland is still in its natural state and very attractive to the big players. A virgin Island in a world of resources hunters – is prey.
With Canada’s ascendant in Aries CJ Neptune, the upcoming Neptune transit through Aries suggests to me a potential surprise (maybe underwater?) attack at some point on our Northern, arctic border, especially since Neptune is in the 12th, not the 1st. And with our military capabilities in tatters and Nato and the Five Eyes partnerships all being challenged, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t worried…
@Ava, if this is any consolation, there simply isn’t a Military capable of carrying a large scale Arctic offensive mission at the moment. Finland, Sweden, and Norway have all been training in Artic since WWII, but the strategy is defensive. American capacities are so limited they send their troops to train here.
The one Military that did have offensive capacities is Russian, but they literally emptied their Northeast European side bases in early months of Ukrainian War. Whole battalions were lost in Battle of Kyiv, and they lost a General from one of those bases as late as last week.
Therefore, while sabotage might be expected, it’s truly unlikely that even if the Pentagon high ups went completely crazy, you’d see large scale invasion.
I seem to recall that quite a few Russian generals are pushing up the sunflowers from something called “lead headaches” while traveling openly thru the Ukrainian countrysides.
The Saturn-Neptune conjunction will take place in Canada’s 12th house square its Sun-Uranus conjunction at 8 Cancer. It will also square the Sun-Venus-Jupiter triple conjunction in the US chart. Both countries will be hit hard. Neptune is about dissolution, not surprise, although in Canada’s case Uranus will be involved. Canada is exceptionally resilient because of its Pluto-Saturn opposition in favorable aspects to Sun-Uranus. However, this resilience will be tested perhaps to a breaking point by the combined effects of Saturn-Neptune squaring Sun-Uranus and the slow burn of Pluto squaring Saturn-Pluto. The Saturn-Pluto square of 2028 should be revealing. Also, Uranus in Gemini will agitate Canada’s Moon. What is likely is a dissolution of the most successful trading relationship in world history with other subsequent shocks for the Canadian economy and state. If it survives all this, Canada will come out stronger at its Sun-Uranus return.

A couple points… When I say surprise attack, I don’t necessarily mean an invasion on our Northern border (though it’s worth noting that Russia has more icebreakers than China, Canada, the US, and the Nordic nations combined), but more of something like cutting undersea cables or pipelines, or sabotaging the few monitoring bases we have up there. Since as you stated, André, that Neptune is about dissolution, my concern is that something could happen “through the fog of ice” related to those contested passageways in the arctic that America, Russia, and China all want control of. Finally, with the arctic melting at rapid rates, Neptune’s “dissolution” could refer to where Canada’s border begins and ends as the US will likely contest this in international courts, at best
Neptune’s dissolution will impact the US Sun-Venus-Jupiter triple conjunction as well. Are you concerned about American borders? The first hit will be Venus, which could bring a dissolution of the US economy. I do believe that is where Trump is eaded. The next hit will be the Sun-Jupiter at 5 Cancer before Canada’s Sun-Uranus conjunction. Both countries will be in trouble.

My astrological prediction is on there being a surprise attack on a US harbour in either this year or the next.

The Imperial Conference of 1917 asked the British Empire to buy Greenland on behalf of Canada, to prevent it falling into the hands of the Americans. Nothing came of it because Britain was broke from WW1.

She is a fan of he who will not be named. However, I follow her. She was correct in the first assassination attempt. She was correct on the Pandemic showing up. She has been correct on Storms and Volcanoes timing. So I add what she says to my daily line up. It is something with the Vedic and timing. If you can strip away some of the opinion the timing and predictions are still useful.

Neptune in Aries can be fighting for a noble cause or for a deluded form of immorality such as slavery. The US Civil War Neptune in Aries gave great courage to both sides, but one was fighting for what became known as the Lost Cause.

Greenland is situated in the middle of three shipping lanes. The Northwest Passage, the Transpolar Sea Route and the Arctic Bridge route. Why is no one stating the obvious? Greenland independence on Greenland is a Lost Cause.
56,000 Greenlanders can only be independent somewhere else but not on Greenland. Maybe Canada could situate them somewhere behind the ice zone where they won’t be in the middle of that many shipping lanes.
Americans aren’t bullies. We are messengers of the coming reality. So long as reality hasn’t arrived America has been quietly helping them but it is not like we haven’t told them this has been coming since 1867.
Greenlanders say they don’t want to be Americans and that is because they want to be Greenlanders and everyone in America understands that but that isn’t the choice they have. Their choice is to stay on Greenland as Canadians, Americans or a casualty in a battle over Greenland, if the Chinese or Russians or someone else attempts to take the island. There is no way Americans will tolerate for even a day a hostile nation controlling Greenland allowing them to place nuclear weapons, missiles and maintain control over shipping lanes that end off New England.
If they must have independence then the world needs to find them a good place out of the way that they can evacuate to.
Greenland has nothing to stop any nation with a Navy seizing them and seizing the last government official so that he signs documents that allow another nation to claim sovereignty. They are too small and vulnerable to be independent in that location and Denmark, their current erstwhile protection, didn’t last six hours against the Germans.
If we aren’t already standing in front of them when the day comes, there won’t be any Greenlanders left to protect by the time we get there. The entire nation could be wiped out in hours. They could just be run over.

Greenland needs to work with the energy productively and not get stuck with a shipwreck. They could adopt ideals of Greenlandic independence in a constitution that limits their sovereignty but maintains a high degree of self determination. Aries Neptune.
On December 2, 1823, President Monroe announced the Monroe Doctrine telling other nations outside the western hemisphere that there was to be no futher colonization efforts in the western hemisphere. Any attempts to do so would be taken as a threat to the USA’s national security.
On April 9, 1941, Denmark was invaded by Germany. Immediately, the UK and Canada began to make plans to occupy Greenland. The two Sheriffs of Greenland invoked a emergency law declaring Greenland to be self-ruling and did this in consultation with the Danish ambassador to the USA. The USA in turn invoked the Monroe Doctrine and a futher Monroe Doctrine declaration in 1920 that no other nation would be necessarily accepted as sovereign in Greenland.
Greenland still had a choice to join Canada or the USA but chose the USA because they wanted to remain neutral and avoid free Norwegian forces occupying the island who, prior to the war, had been attempting to occupy parts of Greenland.
It was the USA that required Greenland to form a local legislature to receive assistance. On May 3, Greenland’s parliament took over its own sovereignty. From that point forward, the radio messages from Denmark were ignored. At the end of the war, they gave up that sovereignty and ended the emergency powers.

There are 56,000 Greenlanders and that number will matter to their independence and not in a good way. Ukraine’s minerals were worth about $0 before they were in a war zone. Greenland’s minerals are extremely expensive to extract. Everything has to be brought in from people to equipment. Lost causes all around.
Greenland’s independence is about the Aquarius Pluto. They may be the Aquarian element but who is the Pluto? Motivated to become independent from Denmark, a kingdom, they will be kidnapped and pulled underground. Greenland is just swirling in the sea. When Wagner group mutinied they started it at 29 Pisces. It was going nowhere, it was over from the start. Everything that has happened so far is the same.

I have thought carefully my reply to yours, I am not American but I can look at maps and from the point of view of the USA, Greenland looks to be nearer the American continent than Europe, Marjorie has provided superb astrology to delineate the next few years astrologically and it looks as if the current political set up in the USA will have great difficulty acquiring Greenland.
I found your comments thoughtful, polite and above all well informed from a geopolitical point of view. As ever time will tell what happens but maybe the sheer bravado may be a wake up as to how Greenland should proceed.

Not really. This is essentially picking up true historical happening and a set of facts and building an alternative narrative that doesn’t hold when confronted with additional information on cost.
Greenland is much closer than Canada than to the US. Maybe Canada should be making friendly overtures?
The potential for a CANZUK (Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand) free-trade union seems to have dropped out of the news. I don’t know where that is – if anywhere – now. I would love an astrological look at that, Marjorie, if you ever have the time. It seems ever more relevant, in this current climate.

Having taken a look at Greenland’s chart (May 1st 1979 Nuuk), it has the transiting Pluto in its 7th house – open enemies, business partners, and transiting Neptune in its 9th house – foreign affairs, shipping and sea traffic. The potential yod they create hitting on Greenland’s Saturn in their 2nd house – their assets and resources. Which does sort of reflect what you have outlined.
That Saturn in the 2nd suggests to me any takeover is not going to be easy to achieve + it is sextile the natal Moon in Cancer and trine their Sun in Taurus, so there will probably be strong emotional resistance.

I find it interesting. The Greenland homerule chart is just tough. Even planets that aren’t difficult are difficult there.
With the transit of Neptune, you can really see how the theme has come to the forefront. It is an issue for the next Neptune transit of the zodiac.

@Lumiere, I am truly fascinated on your thought process here. That said, you know where this all falls apart, if not international treaties etc. the current Administration obviously does not support, but which still need Congressional approval?
No matter how great your America is, you lack one vital element in arctic warfare in general and getting, yet keeping Greenland: Icebreakers. The US has a total of 5 icebreakers at the moment, most small vessels that are not really adapted to opening sea routes for large cargo vessels. The three that are, are all at the end of life. What’s even more important is that you don’t, currently, have capacities to build any new ones. You would need to commission the breakers, and in fact, DJT talked about this with Finnish President just yesterday, because some were preordered from Finland after talks that had began during his first term during Biden’s presidency. However, to have even one icebreaker ready and seaworthy, the pipeline from order to launch is approximately 5 years.
Without icebreakers, it’s virtually impossible for the US to encage in artic warfare. You can’t keep logistics of anything larger than Pituffik, which hosts 150 (!) highly specialised troops going on just with the air support. Greenland currently has about 160 km of roads, everything must be shipped or flown in to communities.
This is why “adults in the room”, including no doubt several Trump Admin members, know a military invasion of Greenland would be a costly mistake. Buying Greenland akin to Alaska would at least theoretically require a Congressional approval. Therefore, I have a distinctive feeling most people are using Greenland as a shiny object they distract Trump with. They know that by the time anything can effectively be done about it, by 2030ish, Trump shouldn’t be at WH, and everybody will have other priorities.
Plus the US already has a military base in Greenland and by treaty with Denmark they can increase its strength at will. So where is the real security need?

On another note, Solaia, it is fascinating to me that even Canada is racing to Finland to build icebreakers and other naval vessels. Justin Trudeau has greatly neglected his country’s defense capabilities. Naval builders in Halifax, Quebec City and British Columbia cannot fill the sudden backlog in demand.
Denmark handles three things for Greenland, foreign affairs, security and monetary policy.
The bilateral treaty, even if Greenland ratified it, allows the US to use territorial waters for its vessels only.
Denmark protects Greenland, they patrol, interdict, and enforce other treaties for them.
The bilateral agreement does not allow the US to take any of that over.
Nuuk already was moving to allow a China construction company to rebuild their airports. Denmark had to stop them.
Runways need special reinforcement to carry military equipment.
Greenland will need to detect, patrol, interdict, coast guard, handle pollution control, and enforce treaty obligations by themselves.
Denmark currently uses 4 vessels with 40 crew each, another 3 vessels with 20 crew each.
They also have aircraft but Greenland might be able to switch to drones there.
Greenland is about the same size as Mexico.

Looking back at when Trump first tried this on back in 2019 Marjorie, you pointed out the “affectionate” Venus Sun conjunction in the Trump/Greenland composite chart. Considering the tensions now in 2025 I find that such a puzzling aspect, surely the affection cannot be from only one direction, ie, Trump towards Greenland, it must work both ways.
They don’t have to become Americans. Canada might be willing to help them. The system we have now is the one you describe. That is not the issue. There is a treaty with Denmark.
The previous Greenland Prime Minister who lost suggested the independence referendum could be as soon as April 2025. That is what restarted this whole thing. And Trump thinks Greenland could be his Alaska, which doesn’t help.
Greenland looks like they will vote to declare independence from Denmark and Denmark looks like they are going to let them. That is the problem. We tried to head that off by offering Denmark money to buy it.
They refused. So we offered the money to Greenland and they refused. Then they were asked to tell us what they wanted.

They were pointing out to us that they want their independence. We were pointing out to them, see Air Force 2. The Vice President of the USA is here to visit. That is because We need Greenland.

In World War II, America was unwilling, because of their neutraility, to invade Greenland not so other countries. It was critical that they form a parliament and ask us to come.

Trump asked Greenland what do they want. So far the answer is get the h*** away from Greenland.

Defense is one thing but offense is another. What happens if Greenlanders decide to make some stupid deals or get lied to or their sovereignty is violated because they gave some hostile nation permission to do something on Greenland and we end up in a fight in Greenland that could potentially start a major war for the USA.
Denmark is currently giving them home rule and protection but they don’t want it.
Going it alone on Greenland is not going to work for very long. If they can’t face the fact that they can’t defend it and won’t give over some sort of framework for protection, they will find themselves in the middle of a fight. Singing My Way.
If they can’t live with the idea that foreign affairs will not be in their control, they should evacuate to a place less likely to be of interest where they can be out of the way and no one will bother them.
I think they should probably stay with Denmark. Trump thinks this is his chance to sew up a legacy.
They are still unwavering in their support for independence.
The more pressure we put on them to stop this or make them consider the security problem they face the better.

Germany ended up losing a significant amount of territory to Poland (about 40% of the current territory of Poland was German before WWII) and of course the Kaliningrad enclave to Russia, where it is now a Russian enclave surrounded by the EU & NATO countries.
So tried for Lebensraum and ended up losing quite a bit of it rather than gaining it.
The most obvious parallel is Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. I have also mentioned in the Questions thread about how I think Trump’s approach to Ukraine reminds me of the Munich Agreement in 1938.
