Denmark is pushing back against Trump’s claim that he can defend Greenland better than they can and is alarmed as he is refusing to rule out military action to forcibly take the territory from them and is threatening targeted tariffs unless he gets his way. The US already has the sole military base in Greenland, in the north of the island. He had a ‘fiery and confrontational’ discussion with Danish PM Mette Frederiksen a few days ago.
Mette Fredriksen, 19 November 1977 Aalborg, Denmark, is a determined Sun Scorpio with a Pisces Moon. Her Sun squares Trump’s bombastic Mars in Leo and her volatile and rebellious Uranus in Scorpio square Mars in Leo clashes with his Pluto in Leo – a high-octane, aggravated chemistry.
Her relationship chart with him is riddled with dislike from a composite Mars Saturn conjunction in a suspicious, ego-clashing square to Neptune; plus a controlling composite Sun conjunct Pluto on one side and a needs-space Uranus on the other. Throughout 2025 the Eclipses will jolt the composite Mercury and tr Uranus will begin several years of upheaval as it squares the Uranus, then Uranus/Pluto midpoint, then Pluto throughout his term.
Denmark, 5 June 1849 12.15pm Copenhagen, Denmark, is looking discouraged with Trump through until early March 2025; with more clashes as tr Uranus moves into Gemini in July 2025 and starts to square the composite Saturn in the relationship chart running on into 2026.
The Denmark/USA relationship chart is showing an undermining phase through February to early March 2025 as tr Neptune squares the composite Sun, followed by tr Saturn square the composite Sun on and off into early 2026.
Whatever happens tensions won’t recede any time soon. Tr Uranus moving into Gemini in July this year appears to be a trigger point on several of the charts including Greenland 1 May 1979 which has its Solar Arc Mars opposition Pluto at 2 and 1 degree Mutable signs at the moment getting rattled in 2025/26/27. The Greenland/Denmark relationship chart will go through a tumultuous phase this year into early 2026 with tr Uranus conjunct the composite Sun – which may be the independence referendum leaning towards a split.
But Greenland’s relations with Trump will also be upended with tr Uranus conjunct the composite Sun Venus from August 2025 onwards for several years thereafter. There may be a measure of interest in what the USA could offer but that is mixed in with suspicion and doubt.

I would be interested to see if you would place the EU in the mix with Greenland. Because Macron of France proposed to send troops to defend Greenland.
It’s a completely bizarre situation. Both countries are NATO members – as is Canada.
@Gilly, remember how during his 1st term, DJT was hellbent to dismantle NATO if the member states didn’t meet the 2 percent GDP military spending? Nothing happened except for withdrawl of some American troupes from Germany. He has now raised the demand to 5 percent even the US isn’t meeting at the moment.
At the time, and in fact now too, it was said “Trump is doing Putin’s bidding”. I’ve become to loath the explanation, because yes, while in 2016, he and many Republicans in general were ready to accept helping hand from Kremlin, there really isn’t much that country can offer anyone anymore. It could be, of course, that China has taken the place of Russia. It’s not beyond realm of possibility that China is paying Trump now. But most likely, there isn’t any grand sceme of things, just more or less improvised moves Trump and Musk make to enrich themselves.
Hi Solaia- when it comes to Trump, I remember Rachel Maddow saying, since the beginning, don’t focus on what he says, focus on what he actually does. This is interesting considering he’s a Gemini! But it holds water. This is why I don’t focus on what he “says” about Russia, since the political actions that Trump takes almost always benefit Russia.
I don’t know what the mood is like in Greenland or Denmark. Remarkably this hardball bluster from the USA towards Canada doesn’t see too bizarre, Gilly.
Canadians are in a rather vulnerable and demoralized position at the moment. Ideal for hardball negotiations from the perspective of the USA. Trudeau has long boasted that Canada has no core identity, that it is a post national state. The President is very much a known quantity regarding the art of the deal, he’s clearly in a position of strength, he’s proven to be quite formidable.
It is important to note that Trudeau has merely stated that he intends to step down. He’s still PM and will continue to be so until he actually resigns.
Trudeau’s government recently had the GG prorogue parliament. Thereby avoiding the risk of an election for now. His fragile minority otherwise relies on the votes of either the socialist NDP or the separatist BQ. Quite the balancing act.
President Trump has made a reasonable request that Canada fulfill it’s obligations to NATO + secure the border, otherwise risking 15% tariffs, he then extended the deadline.
There was very little introspection as to why our border was of concern or why we were not fulfilling our NATO obligations. Instead there are many clamouring for what would amount to a self inflicted wound of a trade war with our largest partner.
Meanwhile Canadian officialdom seems to be embracing a type of patriotic panic mode (with the notable exception of Alberta premiere Danielle Smith).
Will the Trudeau liberals pursue with their retaliatory tariffs? Hopefully they come to their senses, fulfilling our obligations as requested.
Let’s hope that cooler heads prevail.
Since the USA has attempted this purchase many other times, would those other dates be valuable for this post?
I had no idea that so many serious attempts have been made by the USA to acquire Greenland.
Seward in 1867, Taft in 1910, Wilson 1917, 1946 Truman offered 100 million in gold bullion. 1970’s it was VP Rockefeller.
When the USA successfully purchased the Danish West Indies in ’17 the Danes declined selling Greenland, meanwhile London secured an agreement that the UK would have first refusal of any future sale.
@PC, the difference is Greenland was a colony until 1953, when it became a region of Denmark with not particularly good results for the population. For instance, emptying smaller villages to boost Nuuk’s “development”, forcing students pursuing higher education to “mainland” and applying IUDs to women and girls as young as 12 without consent have caused intergenerational trauma. So, there is obviously a lot of resentment and mistrust towards the Danish Government, too. Independence is a true possibility, and then, of course, it’s up to Greenlandic to decide.
However, I think the real hurdle here might be the American public. Talking about buying areas might seem a good deal until they hear about the cost. I guess many would still have a mindset that it will cost 130 million US$, like Alaska did, inflation adjusted, including DJT. But it would be interesting to have the US enter a bidding war with China even for a military base lease.
This may be a misremembered thing, but I recall a couple of articles a long time ago on climate change discussing the potential geopolitical fallout of land grabs of Greenland for resources ‘in the future’, which would be a re-run of the British and Americans being at loggerheads over Greenland at the end of the second World War, which is why it ended up with neutral Denmark.
Are there any major outer planet energies from the late 1940’s playing out again now? or is this just Trump being territorial? Surprised the UK isn’t getting involved.
Not normally a Scorpio flag waver but pleased to see Mette Fredriksen is one, that Pisces moon could work positively in providing a deep sense of kinship with Greenlanders.
Call me cynical, but it’s probably the reason for Trump’s sudden and unexpected warming towards Keir Starmer.
Interesting tidbit – Mette Fredriksen is almost exactly 10 years older than Sanna Marin, who was born November 16th, 1987. Both have Scorpio Sun and Venus conjunct outer planet – in Marin’s case Pluto, as well as Sadgittarius Mercury conjunct outer planet. No wonder the energy they project is similar, although Marin has an even more impenetrable Capricorn Moon. Marin has retired largely to private life and very lucrative speaker / think tank work, but would probably be viewing an EU Commission job in case her party SDP wins the 2027 elections and get to nominate the representative in 2029. She had an upset this Christmas with a stalker who almost managed to get inside her apartment.
The fact is, these ladies are not pushovers, and certainly have a longer attention span that DJT.
Is there anything I astrology pointing to countries wanting to increase their landmass. Putin – Ukraine. Trump – Greenland. China – Taiwan Israel – Gaza.
