Arnaud Beltrame – a French hero

Arnaud Beltrame, who traded places with a hostage and ended up dead in a terrorist shootout by a French-Moroccan Islamist near Carcassonne in the south of France, was a senior gendarme with a military parachuting background.

Born 18 April 1973 in Etampes, France, he was a charming, late Sun Aries conjunct Venus in Taurus; with an Air Grand Trine of Mars Jupiter in Aquarius trine Saturn in Gemini trine Uranus in Libra; with an intense Mercury in Aries opposition Pluto sextile/trine Jupiter – talented, pro-active, confident, used to high-adrenaline situations, a strong idealist. His Moon was in determined Scorpio.

  1. My astrology book by Grant Lewi (an old one) says of the Scorpio Moon: “You may be, or may become angelic; but in the process you may first be the devil’s child, following your instincts to the brink of the Pit”……”if you get the idea that your genius requires self-betterment, self-sacrifice, even monasticism, you will follow that, even to great heights.”

  2. Moon detriment in Scorpio is one of those astrological tradition “wisdoms” I have hard time swallowing. Yes, it exposes people with the placement to pain, but also produces people like Beltrame capable of extreme sacrifices.

    • A brave man indeed. This lunar placement gets a bad reputation in traditional astrology. In the ‘Chirotic Journal’ blog however, the author describes the Scorpio moon as being one of the most compassionate, because the native’s feelings run so deep.

I’m interested in the Sun/Chiron at the top of the chart too. Chiron sacrificed himself in order to release Prometheus. Sometimes the planets manifest in an uncannily literal manner.
