Brett Kavanaugh hearing – blind and deaf justice

A disruptive start yesterday for Brett Kavanaugh’s Senate confirmation hearing for the Supreme Court with the Democrats enraged by the blocking of hundreds of thousands of pages of relevant documents and the late delivery of 40,000 more the night before.

Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) said “Any claim that this has been a thorough, transparent process is downright Orwellian. This is the most incomplete, most partisan, least transparent vetting for any Supreme Court nominee I have ever seen, and I have seen more of those than any person serving in the Senate today.”

Presuming it started at 9.30 am, there was a Cancer Moon opposition Saturn, a muddled Sun opposition Neptune and a mutinous Pluto Mars in the 4th; with an explosive Mars opposition North Node square Uranus.

It’s expected he’ll be confirmed later this month though he’s not looking altogether happy.

He’s got tr Neptune opposing his Uranus until next week which can be disempowering; then opposing his Uranus/Pluto in September/October which is insecure and uncertain and opposing his Uranus thereafter. Plus he has his Solar Arc Mars conjunct his Neptune this year which is generally not favourable for ambitions. But he may have transits to his chart’s axis which isn’t known without a birth time.

His relationship chart with the Supreme Court, 2 February 1790, is reasonably tight and knitted together with a secretive Water Grand Trine of Neptune trine Jupiter trine Venus Saturn, formed into a Kite by Venus Saturn opposition Mars square Pluto. Not easy but fairly together.

What’s more interesting is his relationship with Trump, who presumably selected him because of his previously stated views that presidents should not be indicted while in office. It’s not a natural fit with Kavanaugh’s Aquarius Sun opposition Trump’s Mars in Leo; K’s Uranus Pluto square Trump’s Uranus and K’s Mars square Trump’s Sun and Moon.

Their relationship chart is quite a mix –  controlling and evasive with a composite Sun trine Pluto and opposition Neptune; with a hard-edged, irritable Mars trine Saturn; and a lucky Jupiter Uranus square Venus. It’ll be up and down this autumn with tr Uranus square the Uranus; and under immense pressure from April 2019 for two years with tr Pluto square the composite Sun. Supreme Court picks, if he gets through, don’t always deliver the verdicts their patrons’ expect.

  1. I’ll never understand why my beloved party (democrats), continues to put the cart before the horse. (Sigh). Always seemingly focused on the future (2020), instead of the present and immediate future (midterms and hopefully ensuing investigations).

Some started talk of 2020 in Jan. 2017, which I found strange, considering how much things can (and do) change over time. Also, find it bizarre that so many press so hard for the “stars” in our party, to run for president, as opposed to recognizing their talents and allowing them to shine where they are. Every talented prosecutor isn’t meant to become a candidate for POTUS.

  2. When California Attorney General Kamala Harris refused to enforce a permanent injunction against the pyramid scheme, Herbalife, people in California were puzzled. Community representatives from the League of United Latin American Citizens and the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA), said the Los-Angeles-based nutritional supplement company aggressively targets ethnic minorities – especially latinos. Then it was revealed that Kamala Harris had secretly married one of the lawyers representing Herbalife while the matter was under scrutiny by the Attorney General’s office. Harris is untrustworthy.

  3. Wow. Just when I said Cory Booker hasn’t impressed me as much as Kamala Harris, he will knowingly release confidential documents by Kavanaugh related to racial profiling even if that would mean being ousted from Senate. He is a Taurus Sun, Virgo Moon and Sadgittarius Mars (April 27th 1969). He has hunger striked and lived in a project for years while major of Newark (his own background is middle class), and will follow through this. Also, Mazie Hirono will support him.

  4. Kamala Harris is one of my Senators. I have to say that her question to Kavanaugh about if the government has laws over men’s bodies was excellent! It flummoxed him!

I hadn’t read or heard Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s comment about equality and sovereignty over one’s own body before. My heart is singing — that’s the point after all.

We are in crazy times, but these great women give me hope!

  5. Wow, totally impressed with Kamala Harris. Watched her stick it to Kavanaugh this morning via You Tube replay. Kav was so flustered by her no-nonsense questions that he could hardly speak at times. It sickens me that this twit might ascend to the Supreme Court when Merrick Garland, Obama’s well-considered choice, was literally robbed of the opportunity by Mitch McConnel and his henchmen. So much for democracy. Astrologically, I have to believe that Pluto (brutally unfair and underhanded) played a large role in that whole scenario.

  6. Oh, and had go and search if something was said about Harris here, because I had a feeling there was a post. There was a post from 2017 with Al Franken (who got rightly vetted, and burned, by his own party, no matter how sympathetic he was, by this party), with a quote on her having good transits for 2020/21, and possibly becoming a VP.

So, it’s quite possible we will not get a SCOTUS from this hearing, but a VP or even a POTUS. What I can say is that right now Harris seems incredibly more convincing that other Democratic “hopefuls” such as Beto O’Rourke and Cory Booker. While both of them have a good track record/will have a good track record, O’Rourke is kind of “wordy”, and his answers come too late (I still actually see him beating Ted Cruz, if not for anything else, then enthusiasm gap that led to Roy Moore losing in Alabama) and Booker has the kind of body language that will probably trouble some people.

After what happened last night, I think he will be pressed to withdraw his candidacy, because he is of no use to Trump anymore. His views on Indicting POTUS were the main reason is why he got offered the job, among all the Conservative Judges ready to overturn Wade vs. Roe. Based on Sen. Harris – who used to be a career prosecutor and California AG, so she knows her thing here – questioning Kavanaugh last night (it was around 9 pm local time, so relatively late), it seems he likely discussed Mueller Probe with someone from the law firm representing President Trump. This would, apparently, lead to him having to recuse himself from any decision on Trump Indictment. This would mean Kavanaugh would be useless, and lead to a 4-4 lock vote at Supreme Court.

Also, do I need to mention Sen. Harris was stellar last night (even Michael Avennati, who has been all over Twitter complaining about Dems not fighting has been quiet for almost 12 hours after this), and will be the first female POTUS. The last time I had such a strong feeling about someone being brilliant enough to beat the odds for gender and race because they inspire people was when I saw Barack Obama’s Acceptance Speech at Democratic National Congress 2008. Maybe not in 2020, but I can see a Biden-Harris ticket for 2020, with Harris taking over 2024.
