White House – two women at the top

A woman USA Chief of Staff and a woman White House Press Secretary – who’d have thought it?

Susie Wiles, nicknamed the ‘ice maiden’ by Trump for her calm and effective management was involved in Republican politics way back to Reagan and stepped up for Trump and de Santis in 2016 in Florida and more helpfully in 2024. She was effectively Trump’s “chief of staff” in the run-up to the 2022 midterm election and his 2024 presidential campaign

Born May 14, 1957, she is a steady Taurus (like Melania) with her Sun in a controlling square to Pluto, suggesting she is well-used to control freak men. Her Neptune in Scorpio is in a highly-strung square to Uranus and trine Mars in Cancer; with her Jupiter widely square her Saturn giving her erratic judgement.  She looks rattled through this May, with deep frustrations running all year and more disappointments/failures in 2026.

Her relationship with Trump is fraught this year and sagging badly next year as the tr Saturn Neptune oppose the composite Saturn Jupiter.

The other female first is Karoline Leavitt, born August 24, 1997, in as White House press secretary. She studied politics at college and interned in the White House Office of Presidential Correspondence. Aged 23 she was named as a White House press secretary in 2020 but had to defer her promotion for four years after Trump’s loss. She campaigned for New Hampshire’s first congressional district as a pro-Trump candidate in 2021 and lost. She then served as a spokeswoman for MAGA Inc., Trump’s super PAC, and became the press secretary for his 2024 presidential campaign.

She is a Sun Virgo square Pluto, sextile Mars in Scorpio and inconjunct Uranus – so a determined, sharp tongued personality. Her Mercury in Virgo is conjunct her North Node and inconjunct Jupiter.

She’s certainly articulate and gives as good as she gets which with a Sun Pluto, a hard-edged, unsentimental Saturn in Aries, plus Mars in Scorpio and an opinionated Uranus Neptune conjunction, is not surprising.

She will get a few jolts and jangles as tr Uranus squares her Sun this August and moves on to oppose her Pluto in 2026  – for quite an upheaval with the celestial ‘new kids on the block’ Saturn Neptune in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius also denting her morale this year, more so in 2026/27.

Her relationship with Trump is sagging already with tr Neptune opposing the composite Mars and that moves on in company with tr Saturn to chip away at their happy-togetherness into 2026 and beyond.

Mind you these jobs at the top, tend to have a short shelf life so that may be just as expected.

  1. Maternal mortality rate has risen in states w/ abortion restrictions. In states like Louisiana and Texas, women are twice as likely to die during pregnancy, childbirth or right after delivery. In Texas alone, it has gone up 56 %
Trump is not safeguarding women, but pandering to those w/ extreme views about what women should do w/ their bodies. Maybe as the outers move along in their sign changes, Pluto, Neptune, Uranus and even Saturn ingr. into Aries, there will be more uprising, more air/fire to counter the malaise/water, helping women, as one example, regain their rights.

  2. As a point of interest, President Trump has recently done quite a bit to specifically safeguard women and girls.

Executive Order 14168 (January 20, 2025) – Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government: This order explicitly focuses on women by defining sex as biological male or female, aiming to protect women’s single-sex spaces (e.g., shelters, bathrooms, prisons) and rights. It emphasizes preventing men from accessing women’s spaces and rescinds Biden-era policies on gender identity. This directly relates to women’s safety and dignity.

Executive Order 14201 (February 5, 2025) – Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports: This order prohibits transgender women (biological males) from competing in women’s sports, reinforcing Title IX protections for biological females. It directly addresses women’s sports and fairness, making it explicitly about women.

Executive Order (April 23, 2025) – Restoring Equality of Opportunity and Meritocracy: This order targets disparate-impact liability, affecting the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), which protects women from credit discrimination based on marital status. By reevaluating ECOA enforcement, it has raised concerns about women’s financial independence, making it relevant to women.

Executive Order 14173 (January 21, 2025) – Ending Illegal Discrimination and Restoring Merit-Based Opportunity: This order aligns Title IX policies with biological sex definitions and threatens to withdraw federal funding from schools recognizing gender transitions. It indirectly affects women by reinforcing single-sex sports and spaces but is broader in scope

    • PC,
This is an excellent point and one of the reasons he received votes.I think he is doing a great job bring facts, science and reason back to government and protecting women and girls.
The left were scary in their hyper-focus and support of trans men -to the detriment of women’s rights.
Trump weakened the “men’s rights movement “ disguised as the “gender affirmation” trend.Hopefully it settles down and those truly authentic will be accepted and those caught in the social contagion will step away.

    • @PC, Trump has little interest in “safeguarding women” but every interest in sticking it to “the libs” who Republicans perceive as too protective of LGBTQ+ rights. These executive orders are not designed to “protect women” but to pander to their virulently anti-trans and anti-LGBTQ+ right-wing evangelical base. If they genuinely cared about women they wouldn’t do their utmost to deprived us of our rights, our access to healthcare and our reproductive rights. Don’t be fooled by Trump’s deceptive claptrap. They want to deny trans people the right to exist.

I have five friends with transgender children and know a number of others who have transitioned over the years.

Contrary to the hysteria surrounding trans people, the people I know just want to live their own authentic lives, contribute to society and be left alone to live their lives without undue attention. They have absolutely no interest in harming anyone — but Trump sure wants to harm them and deny their right to exist.

Apologies for the lack of astrology.

      • 100% this.

@PC, even in the context of your comment, I’m struggling to see how the Executive Order of 23rd April protects women’s rights at all – that order AFAIK has nothing to do with trans people at all but instead seems designed to remove protections from women that were brought in to ensure that a wife wouldn’t have to have her husband’s permission to open a bank account (or something along those lines).

      • There is also the unintended consequence (well maybe not) of banning trans women from cis women’s spaces. There are quite a few cis women out there who look more masculine naturally, or their appearance is more that way inclined (think butch style, for example).

People tend to judge on appearances – so what happens when a cis woman is denied the use of a woman-only facility because they are judged to look too masculine and therefore they must have logically been born male? And this isn’t mere speculation, I’ve already read a few personal accounts about this exact situation.

The lawyers will be happy with this situation – no one else will.

  3. Thank you for looking at this, Marjorie.
In Karoline Leavitt’s case, it’s fascinating to speculate whether she becomes disenchanted with Trump, or vice versa, or both.
She definitely comes off as hard-edged and ultra-determined, as her chart indicates.
Perhaps her “true believer” energy partly arises from that fixed Jupiter in Aquarius (which was traditionally ruled by Saturn, increasing the fixity), together with Mars in fixed Scorpio.
In addition to all you mentioned, when Saturn enters Aries at the end of May, it will be co-present with her natal Saturn.
The ancients regarded the entry of Saturn into its natal sign as the beginning of the Saturn return.
So we could get a sneak preview of her Saturn return over the next few months before Saturn retrogrades back into Pisces.
It could be constructive — or not.

  4. Leavitt is not the first woman to be White House Press Secretary. Dee Dee Myers was the first, appointed by Clinton in 1993. Jen Psaki and Karine Jean-Pierre also served in the role consecutively under Biden.

  5. Re. Leavitt, White House Press Secretary has been one of the more gender inclusive Senior White House roles, the first female Press Secretary having been Dee Dee Mayers during Clinton’s first term. First female Republican Press Secretary was Dana Perino during George W. Bush’s second term. And interestingly, the last 6 Press Secretaries have all been women, 4 of them under Trump and 2 under Biden.

Trump’s clear preference for female communicators is interesting given his male chauvinist views. He also seems to prefer female Fox hosts. I think it might be due to his Mercury in Cancer. He might perceive women as better suited to deliver his often tough messages. Therefore, even of Leavitt left, the replacement would likely be a woman.

    • I agree, Solaia. Dee Dee Myers from Bill Clinton’s era does get overlooked here, and in general. Perhaps she was overshadowed by Hillary, who was a significant and headline-grabbing departure from the old school norm as First Ladies go. But she was also far more in the vein of the modern American woman of that time and since. Meyers was part of that trend also, if lower key.

There’s no breaking ground on anything new in this current administration. Well, breaking something, yes. Many things, actually, but with the past is not among them.

    • @Solaia, Sean Spicer was Trump’s first press secretary during his first term.
Melissa McCarthy parodied him on SNL.
He hated that they used a girl to portray him.
      Ha,ha,ha!!!

“Trump’s clear preference for female communicators is interesting given his male chauvinist views.’

I think Trump’s Venus/Saturn conjunction in Cancer represents a love-hate relationship with women or maybe he has a fear of being dominated by a woman.

  6. What do you think of Glass Cliff Theory and how that might show up astrologically? The theory posits that women are disproportionately promoted to the top only during times of crisis, and once you see it, you can’t unsee it
