At least 164 people have been killed and 971 injured in two Venezuela earthquakes which struck at 6.04/5pm La Guaira last night. The 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes which struck within a minute of each other were among the strongest to strike Venezuela in more than a century.
The disaster happened with Mars in late Taurus conjunct the destructive Fixed Star Algol; and a potentially damaging yod onto Pluto inconjunct South Node sextile Sun. Pluto was also trine Uranus conjunct Sedna sextile Neptune – the new era with a few unfortunate additions.
The Venezuela 5 July 1811 3pm Caracas chart has Solar Arc Neptune conjunct the Cancer Sun with tr Saturn just one degree over the conjunction to the Sun – bringing high uncertainty.
This years two Lunar Eclipses set for the quake zone did indicate problems. The March 2026 has the unfortunate Scheat conjunct and emotional Venus on the Ascendant and the Black Moon on the MC.
The approaching 28 August 2026 Lunar Eclipse has the Moon on the Midheaven opposition Sun IC square Uranus on the Ascendant.
Usually notable events occur when planets sit close to the axis of the chart; and eclipses can trigger events earlier than the set date.
The August 2026 Solar Eclipse also has Uranus on the Descendant.

One of the world’s largest known earthquakes occurred on January 26th, 1700, on the Cascadia Subduction Zone, 1000-kilometer long, spanning Vancouver Island, British Columbia to Cape Mendocino, California. This resulted in an approximately magnitude (M) 9 earthquake that likely caused strong ground shaking throughout the Pacific Northwest and also generated a devastating tsunami that affected the coastline and areas throughout the Pacific Ocean.
It happened when Uranus in Cancer was square Neptune in Aries with Neptune trine Pluto.
The San Francisco 1906 earthquake happened when Uranus in Capricorn opposed Neptune.
The Venezuela 1900 quake had Uranus in Sagittarius on the opposite side of the zodiac to Pluto and Neptune in Gemini – though out of orb.
The devastating Lisbon earthquake of 1 November 1755 had Uranus inconjunct Neptune and square Pluto.
Uranus Neptune seems to be a hallmark with extra boot from Pluto in many cases.
At the moment Uranus Neptune Pluto are in milder aspect but still clearly capable of shaking the earth.
This is horrible! There are still 50 000 people unaccounted for. Even only 1/5 were casualties, this would be among 10 deadliest quakes of the century. The awful thing is that many casualties would be caused by Chavez regime, since La Guiara was hit by mudslides in 1999, and the reconstruction was awarded to companies nationalized during the “Bolivarian Revolution”. These structures fell like decks of cards! If anything good will come out of this, it will be purging of the remains of that Government.
I just watched a YouTube documentary on the Cascadia Subduction Zone about two days ago. Of course it scared the living daylights out of me while fascinating me at the same time. And then I read on one of the many mundane astrology forums that I belong to on Facebook and a poster mentioned how Neptune being at 4° Aries was present during the last time the subduction zone had its massive quake – January 26th 1700. And isn’t Neptune in that same area now? The poster tied that quake to the one in Venezuela and mentioned some other factors which I have of course forgotten. Marjorie, could you do a reading of the 1700 quake?
The devastation in Venezuela is horrifying and they have nowhere near the infrastructure to deal with this. What a year they’re having!
26 jan 2000…the date 26 jan juat stroked me of an earthquake in gujarat region n it was horrible. I was in construction graduation first year but at home due to republic day and it was 7.30am morning with shocks later ..
26 jan is 8 vs 1…saturn vs sun…enemies …saturn wins …though if saturn is younger in humans case vs older sun, he loses as I observed young saturnians losing to older ones even young plutonians
